Chapter Forty-Four
Apology From Alina To Aliya.
'I am sorry': These two words might mean a lot more than what they are said to someone.
After a few days, Alina was ready to leave the hospital with her father to go to the house he specifically bought for him and his daughters.
But he knew that Aliya wouldn't go with him as he had never been a father figure to her.
"Dad, I know what you are thinking about. Dont worry, I will try my best to convince Aliya to join us in the new house..."
"I understand that I wasn't the father, my daughters hoped to have in their lives. Now, I promise you and her that I will try my best to always be there for you even if Aliya will live apart of us. Alhamdulilah, Aryan allowed us to go and see her any time," Alina's father said, making her smile. "I am going to sign your discharge papers. I will leave you to change," he added, kissing his daughter's forehead.
After her father leaves, Alina has a plan in her mind to go and talk to Aliya about everything that happened. And the most-awaited talk between her and Matthew about everything.
Including their baby.
I don't know what type of drugs my mother and the doctor injected me to make me lose my baby. The love that I shared with Matthew. I wish I told everything to Aliya before getting into the car, then maybe just maybe, things would have turned out differently. But all I can say is, it isn't too late to make things right even with my sister and Matthew. If he doesn't want anything to do with me, thats fine. I will have to accept that my mother ruined everything for me. My future, and the man I will always love for the rest of my life. And my unborn baby.
Alina got dressed in the clothes her father had brought for her.
"A new start, by getting my sister back," she said smiling.
Meanwhile, Aliya was in her room trying to analyze what had been happening for the past few days with her sister and her father.
She knew that the first step was to forgive her sister and father but Aliya knew that she would need time to heal from everything.
"Aliya, are you okay?" Red asks as she walks inside the room.
Aliya looked at her best friend with tears pouring down her face. Red quickly went by her side and hugged her.
"Its okay, Ali. In shaa Allah everything will okay," Red says trying to assure Aliya.
"All my life I wanted a father but he never acknowledged me as his father. It hurts Red to experienced what I have. And now that Alina has been found, I dont know if I will ever want to see her or him. I know that Nanny, Uncle Aryan, Zayn and you will say that he is still my father and she is still my sister. But what about what I went through in that house, all those years ago? I am not and will never blame anyone for what's happen to me but sometimes I wished that he stopped it from happening even just once..."
"Ali, I understand everything but you need to remember that things aren't what they seem to be. Look at what Rukiya did to her daughter. She even killed her grandchild without feeling guilty. Forgive them for yourself. For you to move on with your life. Alina and Mr. Zayd might need you more than you needed them," Red says. "We...me, Zayn and Nanny plus Uncle Aryan decided tided to go to the farmhouse after everything is settled with Rukiya. And we won't be taking no for an answer," she added, making Aliya smile.
Aliya knew how much Uncle Aryan, her cousin, Red and even Nanny had been trying to make her feel better for the past few days.
"Yes, we will go but first we need to make Rukiya pay for what she did to me, my mother..."
"And your sister plus your father, don't forget them, Ali. I know that, you think they don't deserve the forgiveness but deep inside you know they do," Red says.
"I know and I will when the time comes for me to see them..."
Aliya didn't even finish what she was saying when a knock interrupted them.
"Ali, some people are here to see you," Nanny said, smiling. "It's your father and sister. They are waiting for you in the living room. This is their chance to make everything right with you but remember it is up to you to decide whether you should or shouldn't forgive them," she added.
Aliya got up and hugged Nanny Lea.
"I know and thank you for this. Both of you. You two are right, this is between me and them."
Aliya walked out of her room, knowing what to do and what to say to them. She just needed the courage to say it and today she got it from the people who love her.
Her real family.
Nanny Lea, Muskaan, Uncle Aryan and her cousin Zayn.
"Asalam aleikum..."
Aliya couldn't even finish her greeting to them when Alina rushed to hug her.
"I am sorry for what happened to you at that house. I am sorry I couldn't protect you from her. I am sorry, I took away your childhood best friend from you by spreading lies about you..."
"I forgive you, my sister," Aliya said and then she turned to face her father. "I forgive you too, dad," she added, smiling.
Zayd stood up from the couch and hugged his daughters.
This is the family, that Aliya needs and alhamdulilah she will get it even if I have to sacrifice my life for it, I will do it. This is for you, my dear sister.
Aryan watched his niece get the family she wished for in her life. A father and a sister. He turned to face Hamza who had a sad smile on his face because of his niece not talking to him.
I will help him with talking to her but if she doesn't want to forgive him, that will be up to him.
Hamza watched as the two sisters embraced, he smiled knowing this was what Alina wanted and alhamdulilah she got it.
Someday I know that she will forgive me for what happened in the past and we might even be friends. But for me, I will always love you, Aliya. But for now, we need to get justice for you and everyone around you who has been affected by Rukiya.
Forgiving someone is for you, to move on and let go of the past. Forgive them for yourself and not for them.
