Chapter Nineteen

Two Months Later.

Ayat And Naeem's Wedding.

It has been two months since Maya was born, and everyone around her treated her like a princess. She has the same personality as her mother with the eyes of her father.

It was now Ayat and Naeem's wedding day as it was postponed many times due to some situations that had arisen, unfortunately.

The trial and the sentencing of Heather and Dan as one of them.

Ayat was currently sitting in Layla's old room at her parents' house. She was getting ready with the help of Layla, her aunt Jamila and her mama Nayla.

"Alright, you are all done. Such a beauty ma shaa Allah", mama Nayla praised her adorning her with a necklace that she has gifted Ayat for this day.

"Ma shaa Allah, my dear niece you look so much like your mother. She is always here with you and so is your father", her aunt tells her putting her hand over where her heart is.

"Shukran Khala for everything you have done for me. I love you and Ami very much", Ayat hugged her aunt.

"Hey no more sad moments and Ayat don't cry because I will have to do your make-up again which might take a lot of time and my dear brother will get nervous and he might think of stupid things in his stupid brain of him", Layla tells her making them laugh. "What? Don't you believe me? Hold on", she added taking her phone and then texting. She then showed Ayat a picture of Naeem sitting down and he looks nervous.

"Layla, stop making fun of your brother and help Ayat with her last-minute details and then go away", her mother tells her.

While the others were busy, Ayat was still holding onto Layla's phone looking at Naeem. She shook her head and put it on the table and then took her phone.

She sent a message to him;

Smile, Habiby. You look like a grumpy old man. I love you.

Meanwhile, Naeem was pacing around the living room trying to calm his nerves when he received a message from her.

Ayat.

The love of his life and soon to be his forever.

He smiled at the message and then took a deep breath. Jason approached him while holding baby Maya in his arms.

"Here she might help you with your nerves but be careful I just fed her so don't bounce her", Jason gave him his niece who started talking gibberish.

"I know Maya. Your father is not in his right mind. Don't worry he is still my best friend", Naeem tells her.

"Yeah right. Don't listen to him, baby girl. Your uncle here didn't have a heart until your Khala showed up in his life. So be thankful to your Khala ", Jason says to his daughter.

"Well, at least I didn't wait to be with your Khala...."

"Well, I didn't make her my fake fiancée and then made her quit her job...."

"I think I have two toddlers instead of grown men who are trying to talk to MayMay while she can't even understand what you are saying", Liam interrupts them. "Yeah, come here to your Papa", he added taking Maya in his arms.

He then walked away leaving them bickering like little kids while Liam and Kate watched them.

"Instead of growing up, they are arguing about things that don't make sense at all", Liam tells Kate who smiles.

It was almost time for the Nikkah to be done. The Kadhi told Naeem to sit down while Ayat walked down the stairs with Layla and her aunt by her side.

Ayat took a seat beside Naeem but a curtain separated them from seeing each other.

After Kadhi finished officiating the wedding and now he is giving Naeem the marriage certificate for him to sign.

After Naeem's signature, it was time for Ayat's sign.

"Now, the nikkah is done. It is time to eat and celebrate", the Kadhi said. He then had to leave because he needed to perform at another wedding.

The curtain was lifted letting Naeem see his wife for the first time in a week because of his mother and sister.

He stood up and walked towards her and then he kneeled in front of her smiling.

"Thank you, Amore, for everything. For coming into my life and for loving me when I was unloveable", he kissed her forehead and then whispered in her ears. "Don't worry, love. There's more of that on our honeymoon".

"Well, continue doing that my dear husband, and I will make you sleep on the couch instead of in bed with me", she replied to him.

"Congratulations my dear sister. Finally, I now have a sister. The sister I always wanted and needed", Layla hugged her making Naeem pout. "Don't worry brother, we are still siblings but I upgraded to a new and improved person, my sister", she added.

"Lay, let your brother enjoy his wife. Congratulations habibty and welcome to the family", Nayla hugged her.

"Mum what about me? Where is my hug?", Naeem asks his mother.'

"Mama's boy", Layla whispers into Ayat's ears.

"I heard that".

"Good".

Nayla hugged her son smiling at him.

"Alhamdullilah you are now happy, my son. Take care of him Ayat. And yes he will take care of you too but if it doesn't I have some tips for you on how to do that...."

"Dad, please come and take your wife before she corrupts mine", Naeem calls out to his father Liam.

"Hush. Now, remember that whatever you need, I am here for you my daughter. I can never replace your mother but I can try to be your mother if you need anything", Nayla tells her

"Shukran Mama for everything you have done for me", Ayat tells her with happy tears falling down her face.

"Mum, stop making her cry. Dad, come and take your wife please", Naeem begs his father was just looking at them while holding his granddaughter.

"Okay, Habibty let the newlyweds be. Come with me", Liam tells her holding her hand and pulling her towards the other guests.

"Jason, brother come and take your wife too before she says something that she isn't supposed to say", Naeem tells him.

"How about we go and get some food?", Jason suggested to his wife.

"Okay, let's go. I will bring back some for you, my dear sister, and as for you brother you have legs move", Layla walks away with her husband leaving Ayat laughing her head off.

"That wasn't funny", Naeem exclaimed.

"Yes, it was. Sorry but it is funny", she says continuing to laugh so hard that she almost fell but was held by Naeem. "Thank you".

"Stay here and I will go and get some food. Don't talk to anyone", he tells her. As he was about to get up when he saw his mother coming towards him carrying two plates of food and behind her, he saw Kate bringing two glasses of juice.

"No need to get up. We brought some food for you. I know that Ayat hasn't been able to eat since lunchtime due to all the Nikkah preparations so here you are", Nayla tells them handing her son the two plates.

"Thank you mama", Ayat answers her.

"She is our mama", Naeem added. "Thank you, Ms. Kate", Naeem tells her while taking the glasses from her.

"You are most welcome, Naeem".

As the two women left the couple alone, Naeem looked at his wife.

"Why did you eat your lunch? Your health is important, this isn't", he scolded her while feeding her.

"Well, if I get to be fed by you then I will do it", she tells him taking a bite out of the food he was feeding her.

"Eat and then we have to go somewhere and no am not telling you because it is a surprise that was planned by me for you", he tells her.

As they continued eating, Liam and Nayla looked at them smiling knowing that their son's angel has finally arrived in his life making his heartbeat again.

"Our son found his hijabi intern even though due to having your brain he almost lost her...."

"Well, I am glad that she gave her a second chance. She is truly an angel", Liam added making his wife smile.

Then Nayla looked over to see their daughter, her husband, and their granddaughter laughing while making faces at her.

"I think my father made a great choice in my life when he introduced us at the office. I knew I found the one for me here on earth and in Jannah too", Nayla tells her husband leaning towards him and putting her head on his chest looking at their family.

"Yes, he did. If he didn't I wouldn't have met the love of my life and I wouldn't have found my way. So thank you Papa", Liam says kissing his wife's forehead.

We plan our lives without knowing what God has planned for us. His plan is and will always be better than ours because His plan is for here and also in Jannah while we just plan for here on earth.
