Chapter Four
Damian's POV.
I hang up on Jo then look at my friends who are smiling at me like idiots, "what?" I ask unamused at them.
"When are you going to ask her out?" Bradley asks and I narrow my eyes at them.
"For the last time I'm not asking her out and I don't like her as anymore than a friend." I say irritated with the subject. She probably doesn't even like me anyway, I always have to cancel everything and I'm never there when she needs me.
"Sure." Lucas, another player on the football team says unconvinced as the teacher walks in.

I walk outside after I finish my lunch and sit on the grass under a tree and call Jo.
"Hi." She says in a tone she's hiding something and from the background noise I know fine what she's hiding.
"Where are you?" I ask getting up and leaving the school grounds.
"Damian I'm fine. Seriously." She says and I hear police sirens a few blocks away then I hear them in the background of her side of the phone, she sounds close to them.
"Stay put." I tell her then run in the direction of where the sirens first were and see her sitting up a tree.
"I'm fine." She repeats then smiles, "catch me." She says then jumps from the tree and I quickly catch her and put her down unamused. One of these days I won't catch her and I'll be too late.
"I'm walking you home." I tell her and she sighs.
"I can walk myself home." She says then looks at me, "you don't need to be so protective over me, I can handle myself now, you taught me how to fight." She says.
"I taught you how to kick someone in the balls and run away." I say more accurately and she pauses then nods.
"Yeah but still, it works." She says and I look at her seriously.
"What happens if a woman gets a hold of you, then what?" I ask and she pauses and shrugs.
"I don't know, that's why I want you to train me." She says. Again with the I'm not training you because I don't want you getting hurt conversation.
"I don't want you getting into this, you'll be killed." I tell her then walk up the steps of her house and see the door is wide open. I tell her to stay then go in and look at who's in he hallway with not shock, but confusion.
"Todd?"
