Sofia was with Derek after last night's events at who knows where and she went up to him seeing Derek laying on the ground.

She sighed wishing there was more she could do so instead she went around him and laid in front of him.

Derek had pulled her closer needing her comfort. "It's not your fault" Sofia said.

"Kind of feels like it is" Derek said. "I promise it's not you couldn't have known if anyone is to blame it's them not you, you did everything you could you're the same man I fell in love with okay nothing is your fault you are not to blame for this" Sofia said and Derek smiled.

"I'm just glad they didn't make me kill you I don't know if I'd ever forgive myself for that" Derek said and Sofia smiled.

"We're going to get through this I know we will it's us against the world okay" Sofia said.

"You are my life Fia" Derek said and there was a moment of silence. "And if anything happened to you" Derek said but Sofia turned to face him and stopped him.

"Nothing happened I'm right here I'm with you okay" Sofia said and Derek just looked at her.

"Derek you are the only one for me okay I didn't know what love truly was until I met you, you made me happy again when I thought I couldn't be I've been happier with you than I ever have with Scott I love you I do and I'm with you till the end even with times like this and I promise I'm not going anywhere not without a fight" Sofia said.

"You almost got hurt you could've died" Derek said. "But I didn't I'm right here in front of you" Sofia said. "Yeah luckily" Derek said.

"Yes, luckily it could've been worse Derek, but it wasn't and I'm just grateful I didn't lose you too" Sofia said and Derek smiled at her.

"I know it stinks that we lost Boyd I know, and I wish we could've prevented that, but we couldn't okay" Sofia said and Derek nodded leaning down to kiss her.

She had kissed him back and he had rolled on top of her going to her neck before taking off her shirt. Sofia had taken off Derek's shirt before he moved back to her lips when things got heated.

"They were there for two days waiting hiding that's what we're taught to do when the hunters find us hide and heal" Cora said.

"Okay so is two days standard then or are we thinking Derek's on like some extended getaway and Sofia just happened to join him" Stiles asked. "Why do you care" Cora asked facing him.

"Why do I care let's see because over the last few weeks my best friend's tried to kill himself his boss nearly got ritually sacrificed a girl that I've known since I was three was ritually sacrificed along with Sofia's dad leaving her an orphan Boyd was killed by alphas" Stiles said.

"Do you want me to keep going" Stiles asked. "Cause I can alright for like an hour" Stiles said.

"You think Derek can do anything about that" Cora asked. "Well since he's the one everyone seems to be after it's more like he should do something about it yeah" Stiles said.

"I don't know there's something different about him now, he wasn't like this when we knew him although Sofia seems to bring out the good in him" Cora said.

"I hate to admit this but I actually I never thought I see the day where sour wolf actually smiles" Stiles said. "Sour wolf" Cora asked.

"Never mind" Stiles said. "What was he like" Stiles asked. "A lot like Scott actually" Peter said from the stairs and came down going to them.

"A lot like most teenagers unbearably romantic profoundly narcissistic tolerable really only to other teenagers" Peter said.

"And so, what happened what changed him" Stiles asked. "Well, the same thing that changes a lot of young men a girl" Peter said. "You're telling me some girl broke his little heart that's why Derek is the way he is" Stiles said.

"Do you remember Derek before he was an alpha had blue eyes do you know why some wolves have blue eyes" Peter asked.

"I just always thought it was like a genetic thing" Stiles said. "If you want to know what changed Derek you need to know what changed the color of his eyes" Peter said.

"Okay so if Derek was a sophomore back then how old was he how old were you how old are you now" Stiles asked. "Not as old as we could have been but not as old as you might think" Peter said.

"Okay that was frustratingly vague" Stiles said before looking at Cora.

"How old are you" Stiles asked before looking back at Peter. "I'm 17" Cora said. "See that's an answer that's how we answer people" Stiles said.

"Well 17 how you'd measure in years" Cora said. "Alright I'm just gonna drop it" Stiles said. "What happened to Derek and the cello girl" Stiles asked.

"What do you think happened" Peter asked. "One minute it's I hate you don't talk to me the next it's frantic grouping in any dark corner they could manage to find themselves alone for five minutes their favorite dark corner was an abandoned distillery outside of Beacon Hills" Peter said.

"Alright hold up" Stiles said. "How do you know all this" Stiles asked.

"You just said that they were alone" Stiles said. "Back then I wasn't just Derek's uncle I was his best friend his closest confidant that's how I know" Peter said.

"Our mark for vendetta" Peter said drawing a mark on the window. "Man, you guys really take that revenge thing to like a whole new level don't you" Stiles said.

"It's not just revenge losing a member of your pack isn't like losing family it's like you lose a limb" Cora said. "They wouldn't even let him see the body" Peter said.

"I don't get it what does this have to do with Derek" Cora asked.

"Everything it's never just a single moment it's a confluence of events personally I looked at Ennis circumstances I saw a profound loss Derek saw something different he saw opportunity" Peter said.

"Opportunity to do what" Stiles asked. "To always be with her" Peter said.

"They keep us connected to humanity but they're a secret even in the pack sometimes only the alpha knows who the emissary is, Derek and I had no idea about Deaton" Cora said.

"Or his sister Morrell" Peter said. "She's an emissary too" Stiles asked. "For the alpha pack" Peter said.

"Our guidance counselor" Stiles said. "Why don't you people tell me any of this stuff huh" Stiles asked. "I shared some really intimate details with her" Stiles said. "And did she give you good advice" Cora asked.

"Actually yeah" Stiles said. "That's what they do that's what Deaton used to do for Talia" Peter said.

"He doesn't remember it was Ennis does he" Stiles asked referring to Derek. "If he does, he keeps it to himself" Peter said.

"So, then what happened did he turn her" Stiles asked. "Almost" Peter said.

"He came at Ennis a 15-year-old boy against a giant there was no reason for him to fight she'd already been bitten" Peter said.

"So did she turn" Cora asked. "She should have most of the time the bite takes most of the time" Peter said.

"When you offered it to me you said if it doesn't kill you" Stiles said. "If" Peter said.

"That's why Derek was hesitant to give Sofia the bite he knew it could kill her" Stiles said realizing.

"He knew the answer though it didn't matter that she was young and strong some people just aren't made for this, but she fought she struggled desperately trying to survive" Peter said.

"I remember taking her body from his arms to the woods to a place where I knew that it would be found" Peter said.

"Another in a long line of Beacon Hills animal attacks" Peter said. "And what about Derek" Cora asked.

"Taking an innocent life takes something from you as well a bit of your soul darkening it sinking the once brilliant golden yellow to a cold steel blue" Peter said. "Like mine" Peter said glowing his eyes.

"You ready to go back" Sofia asked Derek seeing him look at the symbol in on the wall. "Yeah" Derek said.

"We can stay longer if you need to" Sofia said. "No, no I'm ready" Derek said. "You sure" Sofia asked.

"Yeah, positive besides as long as I have you, I think I'll be okay" Derek said. "You'll always have me" Sofia said.

Derek had smiled at her have her a quick kiss and held her hand while they left heading home.
