|25| trudging through mud
Taehyung view
Unfortunately that whole night Taehyung didnt sleep a wink after jisung stormed out. Numerous thoughts circled around in his head and with the fact that it was the anniversary of his parents death tomorrow stressed him out even more.
It was now morning and taehyung was dressed in his appropiate attire for the day. He was checking himself out in the mirror one last time to fix a stray hand of his hair. I look so bad.
He saw how his eyes were red and swollen with eye bags underneath. His lips too mimicked that of his eyes from the constant lip biting as he tried to muffle his cries all night. He sighed before grabbing the flowers and heading down to the kitchen where jisung was making them two quick bowls of cereal.
"too much crying isnt healthy for you tae." jisung sighed worriedly as he looked up at his brother. He then looked him up and down, smiling softly. "you look beautiful as always." he said, comfort and sweetness dripping from his tongue as he praised his little brother.
Taehyung mustered up a small smile saying nothing. He sat down, ready to eat with jisung. "just look at your eyes, they've gone all red." jisung tsked.
Taehyung sniffled, finishing the food in his mouth. "h-how is jungkook?" he mumbled, eyes trained on the designed marble of the breakfast bar.
Jisung paused eating at the question. "not good." was all he decided to say before nervously eating another spoonful of coco pops hoping taehyung wouldnt ask anymore.
"oh." taehyung let out dryly. He pushed away his bowl not wanting to eat. "w-why?"
"he's just angry. Are you done? Lets go." jisung abruptly stood up startling taehyung.
Taehyung felt completely empty inside. As if he had no emotions- no heart to feel with. He came to realise that running out on jungkook before he could really say anything was kinda irrational and stupid and he so badly wanted to speak to the older again.
He just sighed, getting up from his seat dejectedly. His eyes were droopy and distant as he put on his coat and followed jisung to the door.
He just didnt want to do anything.
---
Upon reaching the graveyard, the sun began to disappear and more clouds gathered together. Dullness formed upon the city of seoul and it also looked like it was about to rain jugding by the way the sky was a murky blue in colour.
Taehyung and jisung slowly approached their parents grave. Both boys took a deep breath before kneeling down on the dry grass just beside the gravestone. Jisung put the flowers down slowly, his hands then going to rest on his lap. His gaze was casted down before he began to speak.
"hey mom and dad." he started off quietly. "me and taehyung miss you." he sighed. " miss you alot. I hope you're both doing okay like me. Schools going well too and taehyung has settled in well." he sighed deeply feeling tears form.
Taehyung sat silently next to jisung as the older son began to cry softly to their parents. Taehyung also became a little teary from seeing jisung be very emotional.
Jisung felt taehyungs hand clasp his softly, telling him its okay. In reply jisung nodded, getting rid of his tears. "im going to go wait in the car. Take as long as you want." jisung said as he got up.
"you can go home hyungie." taehyung mumbled, looking up at jisung who had an unsure look on his face.
"no tae. I cant leave you here alone."
"Dont worry." taehyung mustered up a small reassuring smile.
"okay. Call me if anything happens. Dont stay here too long." jisung said before placing a kiss to taehyungs forehead who nodded at his brothers words. "bye." jisung said before he left, taehyung now alone.
The boy sighed as he looked down at the flowers. His gaze visibly saddened and little tears gathered in his eyes. "i hope you're both doing okay mom and dad. I w-wish i could say i am b-but im not." taehyung choked out a loud sob. "i really need your advice right now mommy." the boy began to cry. "i-i got a b-boyfriend. He's called jungkook. I was so e-excited and h-happy—" he sniffled. "but i dont think he-he likes me anym-more."
He tried to wipe away his tears with the sleeve of his coat but that failed miserably as more just continued to fall. The thought of jungkook not liking him and possibly breaking up with him broke his heart completeley. He was ready to give jungkook a chance to explain himself. It was silent until a loud rumble was heard again and there was a struck of lightning in the sky.
Taehyung whimpered weakly when rain began to pour down on him but he disregarded It, wanting to spend more time with his parents. He brought his legs up to his chest, his arms tightly wrapping against his knees where his right cheek was smushed against.
"i wish you could t-tell me what t-to do." the boy whined, as he gasped out more sobs.
Heart breaking little by little.
---
Rain continued to beat down on the ground unrestrained and hard, the sound of water hitting the concrete too loud and annoying, still going after a couple of hours. The grass taehyung was sat on became extremely wet and muddy now yet the boy didnt notice as he was still crying his poor little heart out, voice now gradually becoming weaker.
He was soaked entirely; blonde hair slapped against his forehead and trousers uncomfortable against his legs.
A car perched on the sidewalk which was just beside the main road. The driver stepped out of the vehicle, his figure adorning a long black coat. The mans hair too became wet against his head quickly and his feet began trudging in the mud towards the little frame of taehyung.
Still crying, taehyung looked up Through his clamped eyelashes. His vision was blurry due to tears but he could tell the man was getting closer to him. Taehyung didnt do anything, just continued to cry into his knees- he didnt realise how long he'd been with his parents.
The man stood before him for a while before he leaned down and lifted taehyung up in his arms. The blonde boy quickly wiped away his tears out of panic but who he saw made his eyes widen and heart beat accelerate.
"j—jungkook?" taehyung croaked out, eyes trained on the olders clenched jaw. He was mad.
"dont talk. You'll hurt your throat." jungkook said monotonously. He was looking forward as he carried taehyung to his car.
He gently seated the younger inside and got a blanket from the trunk to put around him. Taehyung felt more tears fall down on seeing jungkook again and he kept his gaze outside the window.
They sat in silence before jungkook turned to face taehyung. He looked at him for a while, eyes intense causing the younger to squirm in his seat. Jungkook began to lean forward and taehyung felt his breath hitch wondering what the boy was going to do.
To his surprise jungkook just grabbed his seatbelt and clicked it in for him and then leaned back in his seat again, aura cold and tense. Taehyung bit his lip in shame and turned to look outside the window again, feeling jungkook start the car.
Soon, through the silent drive they reached jungkooks house. Jungkook quickly got out of the car and ran to taehyungs side as he opened the door for him. Jungkook hooked one arm around taehyungs waist lightly while he was helping the boy out of the car and to the front door. Taehyung stayed quiet, not knowing what to say.
It was already dark out, the sun set just over an hour ago and the stars were sparkling in the night sky. It had finally stopped raining but the atmosphere was still gloomy and damp.
Jungkook helped taehyung sit on the couch. He made sure to turn up the heating and also made the boy a hot chocolate which was cooling down on the coffee table, steam rising from it visibly. Jungkook watched the boy for a while, he noticed how taehyung was avoiding eye contact with him by the way his eyes only focused on the floor yet darted around nervously.
"taehyung can we talk?" jungkook asked softly.
The blonde looked up a little startled, eyes finally meeting jungkooks. Taehyung bit his lip, then nodded his head softly.
Jungkook too nodded his head and then ran a hand through his hair. "at the party with seri, what you saw— it was an accident. I didnt kiss her taehyung, she came onto me. The whole day she was flirting with me and i didnt do anything about it. Im sorry for hurting you."
Taehyung had an apologetic look on his face and his eyes became teary again. He wanted to speak but jungkook carried on. "then outside on the patio i told her enough was enough and she went away but then she saw you were looking and kissed me, making it look like i wanted it too." jungkook sighed, feeling himself become angry.
Taehyung felt his heart breaking again. He should have known jungkook wouldnt cheat on him. Although at the time it seemed so overwhelming and hurtful he irrationally ran out and cried.
Jungkook was startled when he heard taehyung sobbing again into his hands. The older hurriedly sat next to him and pulled him onto his lap. Taehyung curled into jungkooks chest, forehead resting against it as he cried out loud making his body shake. Jungkook wrapped his arms tightly around the boys waist, one hand at the back of his head.
"sh baby, you're okay. It was my fault not yours so dont cry." jungkook muttered as he rocked taehyung in his arms to get him to calm down.
"thats it, take a deep breath. You're okay now." jungkook soothed quietly, happy taehyungs cries reduced to just sniffling now. The blonde looked up with his puffy eyes.
"i-im sorry." taehyung hiccuped a little, glazed eyes looking at jungkooks.
"it wasnt your fault tae." jungkook kissed taehyungs forehead, lips remaining there for a little while.
Jungkook rocked taehyung gently in his arms for a few moments in a peaceful silence. It was around eight o'clock and they still needed something to eat.
"how about we go out for dinner? I'd like to take you somewhere as well." jungkook suggested.
Taehyung nodded his head against jungkooks broad chest. "I'd like that." he mumbled, smiling up at his boyfriend.
"lets change out of our damp clothes first." jungkook scrunched up his nose when he pulled the material of his jeans, letting it slap down onto his leg, causing taehyung to let out a soft giggle.
