Prologue
The soft glow of the evening sun filtered through the curtains, casting warm hues across the room. Aria and Jungkook sat on the couch, their fingers intertwined as they shared a quiet moment before the inevitable separation.
Jungkook had been busy preparing for his business trip to Japan for the past few weeks. As the departure date drew nearer, both of them were acutely aware of the ticking clock that counted down to the moment they would have to say goodbye.
Aria leaned her head on Jungkook's shoulder, her eyes focused on the rays of sunlight that danced across the room. Jungkook's heartbeat felt like a comforting rhythm beneath her ear.
"I can't believe you're leaving for Japan tomorrow." said Aria with a soft smile on her face.
Jungkook turned his head to look at her, his deep brown eyes filled with affection. He brushed a strand of hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear.
"I know, it feels like these two weeks will stretch forever." replied Jungkook while gently squeezing her hand.
Aria's eyes met Jungkook's, and they spoke volumes without saying a word. Their love was a language of its own, a silent understanding that had grown stronger with each passing day.
"Promise me you'll be safe, Jungkook." asked Aria with her voice filled with emotion.
Jungkook replied Aria while smiling reassuringly, "I promise. And I'll be counting the days until I'm back with you."
They leaned in, their lips meeting in a tender kiss that conveyed all the unspoken emotions they held within. It was a kiss filled with love, longing, and the unshakable belief that distance couldn't dim their connection.
Aria whispers against his lips, "I'll be waiting for you, Jungkook."
Jungkook whispered back, "And I'll be missing you every second."
As they held each other close, time seemed to stand still. In that moment, they knew that love was their anchor, even when oceans and continents separated them. They cherished this final evening together, knowing it would be the memory that sustained them through the days apart.
Jungkook had always been the adventurous one in their relationship. His career in international business often took him to far-flung places, and Aria had been his steadfast anchor, waiting for him to return with open arms. She admired his spirit and his relentless pursuit of his dreams, even as it occasionally meant enduring these separations.
Aria gently traced her finger over his hand and said, "You know, I'm so proud of you, Jungkook. Your dedication to your work is inspiring."
Jungkook chuckled softly, his thumb caressing the back of her hand. "And I'm proud of you too, Aria. You're unstoppable in your career."
Their careers were both demanding, and they often found solace in each other's unwavering support. They understood the sacrifices they made for their ambitions, and it only strengthened their bond.
Jungkook's phone buzzed on the coffee table, signaling the arrival of yet another work-related email. He sighed, torn between the responsibilities of his job and the desire to stay in this cocoon of warmth with Aria.
Aria said with a playful grin,"You'd better get that. The business world can't survive without Jungkook's expertise."
Jungkook chuckled again, but his eyes held a hint of regret. He picked up the phone and quickly scanned the email, his brows furrowing.
Jungkook became frustrated checking his email and said, "It's another last-minute meeting request for tomorrow morning before my flight. They never rest, do they?"
Aria tilted her head to look at him, her expression sympathetic. "It's tough, I know. But you'll handle it like the pro you are."
Jungkook sighed and placed his phone back on the coffee table. "I suppose so. I just wish I didn't have to rush around right before leaving."
Aria shifted closer to him and rested her head on his shoulder once more. "Sometimes, life throws these curveballs, but I have no doubt you'll knock that meeting out of the park. And then, you can catch your flight to Japan with a clear mind."
Jungkook smiled, his lips brushing against the top of her head. "You always know what to say to make me feel better, Aria."
Aria glanced at the clock on the wall and sighed. "Time flies, doesn't it? It's getting late, and you need to rest before your big day tomorrow."
Jungkook nodded, but he didn't make any move to get up. Instead, he held Aria even closer, as if trying to freeze this moment in time.
Jungkook whisper to Aria, "I don't want to let you go, even if it's just for a short while."
Aria's heart swelled with love for the man beside her. She knew that their love was strong enough to endure any separation, but that didn't make it any easier to say goodbye.
Aria replied softly,"I'll be right here when you come back, Jungkook. No matter how far you go, our love will bridge the distance."
They shared one more lingering kiss, a testament to the love that bound them together. It was a kiss filled with promises, and it was a kiss that would carry them through the days of separation that lay ahead.
As they finally parted, Jungkook stood up, his eyes locked on Aria's. He pressed his lips to her forehead and whispered, "I love you, Aria. Always."
Aria said with tears in her eyes, "And I love you, Jungkook. Forever."
With a final, longing look, Jungkook left the room to prepare for the last-minute meeting that awaited him. Aria watched him go, her heart heavy with the weight of impending separation.
But she knew that their love was unbreakable, even when they were miles apart. And so, she held onto that love, like a beacon of light in the darkness, knowing that it would guide them back to each other's arms once more.
Little did they know that their journey would take them through trials and tribulations, testing the strength of their love in ways they couldn't imagine. But in this moment, as they shared a kiss and held each other close, they were ready to face whatever lay ahead, believing that their love would always find a way.
