I rushed into the office building, my boots clicking on the marble floor, echoing through the empty walls, why was the building empty? Oh Rose, please be safe my love.

I opened the door to Elijah's conference room and I was stunned by what I saw, I would never forget this vision, Elijah, Nova and her foster parents holding my Rose hostage, her head dropped down as tears fell from her eyes.

Blood boiled when I saw all of them holding an evil smirk, an expression that angered me beyond control, My eyes darted onto her, her hands tied onto her back, tears streaming down from those beautiful eyes, begging me to save her.

''What is the meaning of this Elijah!'' I roared grabbing the gun from my pocket at aiming it at him, within seconds of the action I did,  Nova aimed the gun at Odette's forehead, making me freeze, Damn it!

''Ric, please save me from these monsters, th-they are going to kill me'' she yelled before Elijah slapped her right across her face, making her throw her head onto the side, I wanted to shoot him that instant for touching her but I was helpless, If I do something, he will kill her, and I will break the instant that happens.

''What have I done to you, Elijah! Let her go! Don't drag her into this! Kill me instead!'' I yelled, surprised by the pleading in my tone, I was losing and someway I knew that because I press and everything will be over.

Elijah walked towards me and smirked '' Eric Carter, tell you what? I was never your friend, All I wanted was '' he said started placing his finger on my chest ''Was your wealth and company, you never had a weak spot, I could never overthrow you, and now after a long time I found your weakness, She!'' he seethed as Nova threw Odette onto my feet, her hands holding my feet, I staggered.

I bend down to hold her when I heard Nova click her gun '' Touch her Eric, I will blow her brain off!'' she snapped pointing the gun at my beloved.

''Why are you doing this Nova! What have I done to you! I once loved you!'' I pleaded towards her, when did she turn so cold? Why was I pleading?

''Nova? Who Nova? She is long since dead! I am Nora, her twin sister'' Nova, I mean Nora cackled making me go pale, Nova had a twin sister? Why did I never know?

''You Eric Carter, chose my sister over me! I loved you a long time back, passionately,  but you loved and chose my sister! So I joined hands with my fiance and your enemy, he was the only one who wished for your downfall, Elijah ..'' she cackled placing a kiss on Elijah's lips, I was disgusted. 

My jaw clenched as Roger, her own foster dad grabbed Odette's hair and pulled her back, and all I could do is watch them do this helplessly, My jaw clenched and fury was unfathomably flowing through me and I couldn't do anything.

''Pathetic whore! You were always useless to us! Always a pain for us, and now for your slutty self wooed and married this billionaire and got yourself pregnant? Such a bitch' Roger cursed slapping her again, the imprints of his fingers scarring her beautiful skin, a whimper leaving her mouth.

''You shameless man! Do you even know she is your adopted daughter? She did not seduce me! I fell in love with her!'' I boomed, my eyes turning darker in rage, veins popping on my head.

I was so shocked, more like stunned, Nora, Elijah's fiance? what and all is happening here? I thought Elijah was my friend and he turned out to be my worst foe.

''I was the one who stole billions of dollars from your company, but now, let's get to the matter, If you want your wife and kid alive, then, sign your whole company to me , get out of this country forever! And never show your face again Carter!'' he scoffed rubbing his hands making me petrified.

What will I do now? I- I am trapped, at one side I have my dad, his company and his dreams and on the other side, the love of my life and my unborn daughter pleading to save them.

Elijah swapped a paper in front of my eyes and a pen ''Hmm sign fast Carter, time is ticking, tick-tock , tick tock '' he smirked pointing at Odette who was crying while held at gunpoint by Nora, her beautiful dark fades due to the dust, red imprints of fingers running down her visible skin, I wanted to cry.

''Fast or she will die, her dad and mom have been helping throughout the plan , because they want her done anyways '' Elijah said as Roger cackled happily, strangely Emily was quiet and looking down, Her old eyes found mine and it was filled with tears.

'Save my child' she mouthed at me, wiping her tears, I felt like my heart was crushing, I looked at Odette who shook her head, telling me not to sign the paper.

My hands shivered, I had made my decision, I will sacrifice my and my dad's hardwork for the sake of my daughter and wife, I closed my eyes a breathed hard, I am so sorry Dad, please forgive me

''NO! Eric! You can't do this to your dad! I don't deserve this Eric! You must not sacrifice your company and your passion for me! Let me die Eric please! Don't do this'' I heard Rose scream while crying, trying to get free from Nora's grasp, but failing.

I was quick the sign the paper and throw it at his face in rage, I lost my company but I was getting her back, Nora scoffed and threw rose onto my arms, I held her by her shoulders and gave her a sad smile.

''Why did you do this Eric? I am not worth all this!'' she cried grabbing my suit shirt and crying, I softly held her face and kissed her head, her eyes closing in the process, My other hand resting on her womb.

''There is nothing important to me than you and my child Rose, Tough times come, we get loved ones, and the good ones turn out to be our ill-wishers'' I paused glancing at Elijah and Nora '' But you Rose, I have fallen head over heels for you, I am madly in love with you, I just got you , I can't let you go now my love, It will all be over , we will have a new life together with our daughter, let's get out of here Rose because you deserve not just my love, but all the love and happiness of this world .. Trust me'' I whispered, meaning every single word I uttered.

But she sobbed, her body shivering under the effect of her intense cries ''No Eric, Y-You have worked hard for thi-this fame, thi-this position, you can't let that go please Eric, you can, you can have any woman you want, and kid at any time, nothing will change if I die, Eric please w-why?'' she wept looking into my eyes 

''Hush! Would I get the love of my life again Rose? Will I get you again? No right? So come on, let's get out of here'' I said kissing her wet lips while wrapping my hands around her, she leaned onto my warmth.

I was about to get up when Elijah grabbed Odette by her bicep and pulled her back, I was shocked for a moment, what is he doing? 

He threw her onto Roger like she was some rag, her hair falling on her face as she clutched the cold ground.

''Get her if you can Carter '' Nora seethed leaning onto a smirking Elijah, Once a friend , now a foe! 

I walked towards her slowly and that is when it all halted, The tables turned and they showed me their true colour, who they were in reality.

''Say Goodbye Carter!'' was all I heard from Elijah before three gunshots were heard and within seconds, three bullets pierced my back, I felt the numbing and blinding pain followed by Odette yelling my name.

I dropped onto my knees as everything around me started blurring, I could feel the blood flowing out of my frozen body.

That is when I physically saw my world crumble into dust before my eyes, the only person I truly loved,  Eric was dying in front of my eyes, the father of my child was shot and I could not save him, my breathing became hard as I saw his life slipping away.

 I couldn't tell Eric that Elijah scarred and broke me, he raped a pregnant woman if I had not , he would have killed my child, and now the only person I have is dying.

''Eric!'' I screamed on top of my lungs letting my hand free from Rogers as infinite tears streamed down my eyes, I held his body which was numb and cold already, his limbs weak, his eyes were weary and listless, his body lifeless, he was mildly breathing, the shallow moment of his chest decreasing.

I could feel the metallic blood that was flowing from his body as I held him, He was sweating because of his stress breathing, his dull blue eyes met mine, his lips forming a faint smile.

This was it.

Those were the 3 gunshots that made my life shatter

Those 3 bullets that killed my soul and paused my heart till eternity

Those 3 wounds made me lose him forever.

'' Please, Please Eric don't die! We will get through this'' I begged but he shook his head , I grabbed the gun from his side and without a slight thought three gunshots just like they did. I couldn't think of anything else.

Three kills for these three bullets that are killing the love of my life , Elijah , Nora and Roger fell on the ground dead as the bullet pierced their chest, No regrets,  I killed the people in cold blood who killed my husband and shattered my soul.

''You promised me this is forever Ric, Please don't do this to me, I can't live without you. I love you Ric'' I cried shaking his numbing body, my lips quivering.

''I love you too Rose, and I will forever, This is our forever'' He smiled slightly placing his bloody hand on my cheeks, its coldness giving me chills.

'''You can't leave me, You can't leave me and our child all alone in this world of darkness, lie and deceit, You have to live for me. Please, I am nothing without you, You are my strength, you taught this Naive girl to love, please '' I pleaded, my tears falling on his sweaty face.

''I love you enough to let you go baby, I once again repeat,  I love you, and I will be with you in this air you breathe, in the fire you light, in the water you drink, I promise ..'' his voice faltered as his breath went shallow, he was leaving me, he was dying , he was fighting to live, to breathe.

 ''And tell my little baby that her daddy always loves her and will continue loving her '' he placed his cold and bloodied palms on my womb, tears leaving his enchanting blues as he became pale, he was losing blood at an alarming rate, is this the end of my fairytale love? Please no!

''No No No! Please don't! Please!'' I cried, my heart was tearing apart, my soul was dying, he was dying and I could not help him, ''Someone call the ambulance please!'' I begged as people surrounded us like a crowd watching us like a circus.

''I love you, forever, Odette Rose Carter ..'' those were the last words he uttered , his beautiful and creaseless eyelids closed his ocean blue eyes that were now listless, I held his cold hand against my wet cheeks as I cried, his hand went weak and dropped on the ground, his lips parting, I slowly placed a kiss on his cold lips , tears falling on his face.

I felt a hand wrap around me, pulling me away from him, I looked up and saw Jaxon and Amelia there, how did they reach here?

I saw medical personnel taking his limp body and taking him away from me, destiny was cruel to us, he is dead and I lost him.

Forever.

My first and last love is no more and he will not come back to me,  I felt the world blur around me as fell into the world of darkness, an abyss of darkness

''Ugh! It's paining, My water broke! Amelia!'' I cried in pure agony as I reached the hospital, days without him was painful, I never wanted to see anyone after that, nightmares of him dying, fear and pain always gripped my heart , scarring me forever.

We were now in Sydney, away from London and U.S which held his memory with Amelia and Jaxon, safe with them, Not a single day passed without me shedding a tear for him,  Eric, I still wore the ring that had his name encrusted on it.

''One more push Detty!'' Amelia cried and in the end, I could hear my baby come to life, her cry was so beautiful, it brought my deal soul to life.

Amelia gave her onto my hand, my sweaty face formed a smile as I saw her, she was so beautiful, my daughter, our daughter, Alas, he was not here to see her, he would have been so proud.

She had Raven black hair like Eric, I was waiting for the day she will open her eyes, from today she will be the reason I will live, I lived and loved Eric and now for her.

''You dad will be so proud of you my child'' I cried looking at her longingly.
