Chapter 01
Trigger Warning: Suicidal thoughts, guns, murder.
Amara's pov
Stepping on the edge of the bridge, all I could think about was how it would be to fall down from here, first contacting the ground, breaking my bones, slowing bleeding and my organs shutting down, leaving me to sleep in peace.
The cold air was coming in contact with my skin, giving me goosebumps. It's useless to be out here. I have no one with me. No one for me. The money I'm getting paid was not enough for me to pay the debt and have a 2-course meal.
I was forced to close my passion, being a tattoo artist. Crying, praying, and hoping a miracle would save me was all hopeless. Moving more towards the edge, I close my eyes, making my body lose. Preparing to sleep forever.
Instead of feeling pain and satisfaction, I felt someone pull my hair, and I hit a hard place. I opened my eyes to see I was not on the edge anymore. I was in the arms of a stranger and a group of men surrounded me.
I felt a cold sensation in my temple. It is a gun. I could hear the gun being released from the lock.
"I will kill her if you come closer." The guy who was holding me said.
"I don't even know her." The guy in front of me said while holding a gun. Fear was filling me up. I wanted to die, but I didn't want to be murdered by someone or get shot for something I didn't commit.
I wiggle, trying to get out of his hold, instead his arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer to him, pressing the gun closer to me, slowly feeling dizzy. I saw the gun in front of me. Loading it and attempted to shoot the guy who was holding me.
The guy who was holding me hit my head with a gun and ran while the other men were chasing him. I lost my balance, ready to feel the ground. Instead, I felt a pair of arms hold me from falling. I was half conscious, but as soon he held me my vision turned black.
Vincenzo's pov
I glanced at the girl who is now passed out in my arms. She had her left arm fully tattooed. Her eyes were green when I saw them, and her hair was chocolate brown, making her look like an assassin.
This wasn't supposed to end like that. According to my plan, I have to catch him and lock him in my basement and ask him where he has kept my money. Hearing my phone ring, I held her in one hand and put the call on speaker.
"Boss, where are you?" a voice from the other line said. "I'm near the bridge. Come here asap." I say coldly before cutting the call.
After a while, I saw my car was there. Since it's not safe for her to be here, Alessio could start searching for her, thinking she is related to me. Carrying her to my car, I laid her on my lap before the car drove.
"Who is she?" Marco asked. "That bastard thought hurting her would make me leave him without my money. He hit her with a gun." I say and notice her forehead was bleeding a bit.
...
"We are here!." Marco says before stopping the car in front of the mansion I own. "Should I carry her?" He asks. I nod before walking into the mansion with my pockets in my hand as Marco carried her.
"Where should I put her?" "In the basement, also I want information about her in the next 4 hours," I say before going to my office to complete signing a few documents.
