It was decided that they would take Karu to the witches. But as the Meadow witches were away from their land on some business they had to delay the visit by a week or so. Hence, Alpha Sanders felt it was best to leave Karu in Edmunds care and return to his pack to deal with the attacks.

Meanwhile, Alpha Edmund tried to focus on his work. Which was rather tough because his thoughts kept wondering towards the peach-scented girl.

A knock on his office door startled him out if his thoughts.

"Come in."

The door opened, and the Yakari pack's head physician, Francis, rolled himself in with the aid of a wheelchair.

"Alpha, I come to speak of the trip to the Meadow."

"Go on."

"Well, as you know, there will be some things you have to do for Karu while on the move. And I thought it would be best if you too watch the procedure as I wouldn't be able to accompany you myself." He spoke whilst indicating his disability. "Of course my accomplice will be joining you and he will be taking care of her. But we do have to take some precautionary measures."

"Yes, Francis. Good thinking."

Edmunds senses piqued as the door to Karus room opened. The pleasant smell of peaches saturated it. He looked towards the bed and his eyes locked onto the sleeping beauty.

Yes, Edmund thought, she was indeed a sleeping beauty. Her dark hair lay sprawled on the pillow, her lips slightly parted, and the Sun shone against her skin making it a golden hue. He wondered what colour her eyes would be.
