DEAN'S POV
//////////////////////////
Four years had passed and we were staying in a motel in California. We were working on a small case in a small town.
Evelyn was now six, and insisted on going everywhere with us. We never let her actually go to the locations with us, she always stayed in the motel and "guarded daddy, uncle Sammy, and pupa John's important stuff."
Dad and I were digging up the grave and Sammy was hauling the gas to the grave. I had noticed something was wrong with him every since we got into the state of California. He was always staring off into space, daydreaming.
We finished up the job without any problems. I was just worried about Sammy.
----
Four more years passed. Sammy is twenty, Evelyn is ten, and I'm twenty four. We were back at California. We had just finished up a case. It was a demon case. It didn't take long. When we got to the motel.. that was when everything went wrong.
"What the hell are you doing Sam?" I asked. He was shoving clothes in his duffel bag. Evelyn was sitting on the couch watching TV, no doubt a actually listening to our conversation.
"I'm getting out of here, Dean." He said before zipping up the bag. Just then the door opened and dad walked in. He dropped his stuff and looked at Sam. He frowned and walked up to us.
"What're you doin Sam?" He asked looking at his son, who was now taller than both of us.
"I'm leaving. I'm done with hunting. I want to go to school." Sam said as he three the duffel bag over his shoulder.
"What? Sam you can't leave." Evelyn said getting up from the couch. She walked over and stood next to John. Sammy got a very pained look on his face.
"Eveie.. I'm sorry baby, but I have to go." He explained softly.
"Don't talk to me like I'm five! I know you don't have to go. Please uncle Sammy.. please don't leave." Evelyn practically begged.
Sam clenched his jaw and looked back to dad. "Are you gonna get out of my way?" He asked.
"Your not leaving Sam." Dad said, his jaw locked in place.
"Sammy. Just stay, we're safer together, remember?" I told him. Sam just ignored me.
"I'm going." He said. Dad shook his head.
"If you walk out that damn door. Don't come back." Dad said.
"No." Evelyn and I said at the same time. Sam just glared at dad and walked pass him. He didn't even look back before slamming the door.
All three of us were shocked. Dad turned around and looked at the door, as if this would all somehow be a big horrible joke. But it wasn't. I looked at Evelyn. She had tears in her eyes, but she wasn't letting them fall.
"Pack your stuff. We're going back to Bobby's." Dad said before walking back to the car.
Evelyn grabbed her stuff and filled her backpack silently.
"Baby?" I said as I filled my duffel. Eve didn't respond. "Evelyn." I said. She glanced at me before walking out into the car. I sighed and followed her.
This has gotta be the worst day of my life.
