Azia Cadieux POV

"Roman we can't stay here anymore, it was only a matter of time before he attempted to murder me like he did my parents," I sighed as I ran my fingers through Roman's sandy brown hair, frowning up at him.

He grabbed my hand and kissed the inside of my palm as he sighed into it, looking at me with sadness in his eyes. Roman always knew the complexity of the relationship between my brother and I, especially when it came to my parents but this time Kaiden had gone too far. I always loved my brother as siblings should but I never had a true relationship with him, it was almost as if we were raised separately our entire lives. I was showered with love and affection from my mother, always getting me whatever I needed and telling me how important it was for me to find a mate and tend to his every whim but until that day I would always be taken care of by my parents. I never understood Kaiden's reasoning for murdering our parents, I never understood is relationship with them but it never seemed like a good one. However they treated me was obviously not the same way they treated my brother but it couldn't have been that bad.

"Azia where is there for us to go? My old pack has been destroyed and it's not like you could just up and leave, you are part of the Cadieux family which is a very powerful family. I don't think the Alpha would even allow you to leave," Roman said sadly.

"Fuck the titles Roman, he's my brother and you don't have to call him the Alpha around me. I just don't want to stay here anymore with him, I want nothing to do with that girl and his bastard child I just want none of it," I choked out as I held my throat in pain, the painful scars reminding me of the events that occurred a couple nights ago that made me truly fear who my brother had become.

"Maybe he will leave you alone for good this time and never bother you again, if I get my position back I could make sure that he never bothers you again and that we stay on his good side," He half smiled, trying to comfort me with his words.

"I don't understand how you are still willing to take that position in this pack so close to that man, he nearly killed your mate but you still decide you want your duties in this pack?" I huffed, sitting down on the couch as I picked up my cup of tea to try and sooth my sore throat.

"I hate him for what he did to you believe me if I could murder him I would but at the end of the day he is your brother and our Alpha and he overpowers both of us, I hate the outcome of this but this seems like our fate," Roman sighed as he walked into the kitchen.

"He called me a breeding cow," I said silently to myself as I raised the mug to my lips feeling the warmth of the steam caress my nose ever so gently.

Why did a part of me feel as though he was right? My parents always talked about the importance of finding my mate no matter what, that I should only preserve myself for him and him only and that he would bring peace to our lands. Meanwhile my brother took on a half breed human girl as his chosen mate and they seemed appeased with it. I just didn't know what to believe.

There was a knock at the door disrupting my thoughts, a knock that I was unfamiliar with. I set my cup down on the table and looked over at the door.

"You don't think it's the Beta or third in command is it?" Roman asked as he walked back into the living room, wiping down his wet hands.

"No, all of their knocks are a bit more demanding and they will announce themselves," I shook my head as I stood up from my sofa and made my way to the door.

"My love maybe I should answer it just in case it's your brother or something," Roman said nervously as he stepped forward.

"Roman I know for a fact it's not my brother, he never wants to see my face again and I never want to see his," I said as I reached the door, gripping the cold metal of the doorknob.

Something inside of me began to turn as an uneasy feeling began to wash over me, almost warning me not to open the door but who could be at the door? How badly I wanted to listen to that gut feeling and just ignore whomever it was at the door but my curiosity got the best of me and that would be my greatest downfall.

But it opened my eyes.

"Hello can I help you?" I questioned as I opened the door revealing an absolutely gorgeous woman that I have never seen before in my life. It was as if her skin was glistening under the light, so smooth and blemish free it was almost unreal, she had on a long black dress with a white shawl covering her shoulders with her black curly hair pulled in a tight bun in the back of her head. She looked at me with such as intense gaze from her dark eyes that it almost intimidated me into submission despite my rank as an Alpha female. It was almost as if this woman was an unearthly being.

But what business did she have at my door?

"Hello is this the home of Azia Cadieux, sister to Kaiden Cadieux and daughter of-"

I held up my hand to interrupt her, not wanting to hear the names of my parents or even Kaiden for that matter.

"Who's asking?" I muttered as I crossed my arms over my chest, immediately wanting this person to leave.

"How rude of me, my name is Isis Talia and I sought you out because I believe we have a common interest," She smiled warmly at me as she stepped forward, closing the gap between us trying to inch her way into my home but I wasn't backing down despite her intense aura.

"What common interest may that be? I don't know who you are but showing up to my house playing games trying to intimidate me doesn't make me want to invite you in, now fuck off," I growled.

I quickly stepped back and tried to slam the door in her face but she slammed her hand against the door pushing it back open as her long sharp finger nails wrapped around the edge of the door.

"It's so rare to come in contact with another Alpha Female so I will keep it short then, my name is Isis Talia and I am the Alpha of the Blood Supreme Deity pack and I would say our common interest happens to be a common enemy and that would be your brother Kaiden," She dropped her smile as she leaned forward, dangerously close to my face, her intense aura beginning to grow as I became unsteady.

"Wait what? Alpha Females in charge of packs don't exist unless they are Luna's to the Alpha Male," I shook my head and stuttered as I stepped back, not wanting to believe this woman but the energy around her had to make it true.

"Isn't it tragic our kind has resorted to? Only being known as the breeding submissive little pet in a man's world, now I am no feminist but if a woman rises to the top then why is it any less believable than a man?" She gave me a wide toothy grin as she stepped into my home staring straight into my eyes, daring me to break contact.

"I uh I um guess I never looked at it that way," I said nervously as the back of my legs hit the coffee table in my living room, making me fully realize that we were now inside of my home, she closed the door behind her and then politely turned to me.

"You never looked at it that way or were you raised to not believe that at all? Were you raised in a household where the men were put above you and you were looked at as nothing more than someone to find their mate and have babies?" She smiled, her hands clutched together as she stared at me.

I wasn't sure what to say, I was offended but there was some truth to what she was saying, my mother always urged how important it was when I finally met my mate, I never quite had any real duties besides anything mate related.

"Offer me a seat Azia," She smiled, gesturing towards our blue suede couch behind me.

"Oh yes I'm sorry how rude of me, please have a seat," I quickly said as we both sat down, my attention fully facing her.

"What did you mean when you said my brother is a common enemy?" I asked slowly, trying to understand the situation before me.

"Honey who was at the do- oh my I didn't know we had a guest," Roman walked into the living room a bit startled before he bowed at our guest as a friendly greeting.

"Isis Talia, an acquaintance of Ms. Azia here," Isis stood up to shake Roman's hand with a cheerful smile upon her face.

"Oh acquaintance? I don't recall Azia ever mentioning you," Roman said a little confused as he turned to me.

"She's just here to speak about some business involving my brother that's all," I quickly said as I stood up.

"What business is that?" Roman said, now fully staring at me with a bit of concern in his eyes.

"Business between us girls if you don't mind, I'm not a fan of those who tend to poke their noses through other people's business. It leaves a very bad taste in my mouth," Isis frowned.

"Well if it involves my mate it happens to be my business as well and I don't appreciate your tone in my house," Roman growled.

"Roman please, it's best if you just head upstairs while we talk," I pleaded, not wanting an altercation to happen inside my home.

"You plead with this wolf who is of lower rank to you? He should be worshipping the ground you walk on, thanking the Moon Goddess everyday that he was paired with an Alpha Female," She said in such a bored tone as she sat back down on the couch, legs crossed, staring straight into my eyes.

'Who is this woman?'  He asked through the mindlink.

'I don't know she just showed up at our door claiming to be the Alpha of the Blood Supreme Deity pack,'

'This is a dangerous woman to be speaking to right now especially if she is from the Blood Supreme Deity pack, they mean to start a war with us,'

I looked over in shock at Isis as she looked down at her nails in boredom, analyzing them.

"You are no longer welcome in my home and I need you to leave," I said firmly as I stood up and pointed to the door.

"Are we seriously doing this right now?" She whined but stayed in her seat.

"Leave now or Ill have to throw you out myself," I growled, ready to stand my ground.

She looked up at me for a moment and then stood up before finally staring down at her fingernails one last time and then sighing.

"I wanted this to be easy and smooth without bloodshed but what can I expect from a Cadieux who's just as stubborn as her brother, just make sure you don't chip my nail polish love," She winked at me as the veins in the arms and wrist began to bulge which her finger nails growing longer and sharp like talons.
