Issac's POV

(Flashback to the very bloody day that Isis and Issac crossed paths).

That day.

All because of that very day, I always think back to myself, 'what could I have done differently? Could I have stopped her?'

But then I think harder and realize it was out of my control, I was just a pawn in her game, someone she would dispose of in the future when she no longer needed me. I do know one thing for sure that I will never forget.

I hate Alpha Isis Talia with every bone in my body and I will never forgive her for murdering my family.

I hope she gets what's coming to her in the future.

"Beta Issac, I need a status report on the construction of the new warriors training facility," Alpha Leo asked as I followed behind him, pushing construction paper work and legal documents into his hand for him to look over.

Alpha Leo was the Alpha of the Moon Deity pack, one of the largest packs in our areas and one of the most proudest. Leo took pride in his pack and his Alpha abilities but also remembered to humble himself as much as possible, unlike other young and naive Alpha's. He was an ordinary looking man with light cool toned skin and jet black hair, his features were sharp as his face always seemed to look as though he were upset or angry. He had prominent downturned eyes that always seemed like there was slight sadness in those light brown orbs and a fully trimmed beard to match his hair color. He always told me he never shaved his beard because he had an ugly scar on his chin that his mate would complain about, but he was never serious about it.

"The construction is going smoothly, the final product should be done in about a month or two depending on the weather, there are just some bills and legal documents that you have to go over for the building," I stated as we stopped walking right in front of the pack house and he turned to me.

"Thank you Beta Issac, you always manage to keep on top of things and keep me on track, I really appreciate you for that," He smiled as he placed his hand on my shoulder.

Being a male Beta born from an Alpha born family is one of the toughest things for any child to deal with, most people expect the female to be Beta born because Alpha born females are rare but Beta born males from an Alpha family is just as rare and if not disappointing. I wasn't as strong as an Alpha born and my father knew that so he passed the pack down to my younger brother and sent me to an entirely different to become the Beta of another pack, Alpha's are normally intimidated by Beta born's from Alpha families and they don't take them in as commanding Beta's but that wasn't the case with Alpha Leo. It was like he understood my situation and instead of taking me in under pity, he took me in because he sensed my potential. He always reminded me how good of a job I was doing and always made me feel appreciated, something I didn't hear much from my family.

He was like another father figure to me, especially since he was around the same age as my actual father, something happened to his mate long ago leaving her infertile so they were never able to have children of their own.

"Thank you Alpha, just doing my job," I smiled and bowed in front of him.

"How is that feisty mate of yours doing? I hear she's due any day now with a healthy baby boy," Alpha Leo asked.

"I would be better if you weren't stealing my mate away from me these days Leo," Her delicate voice sounded from behind him.

I couldn't help but smile whenever I looked at her, in my eyes she was the most beautiful woman in the world, every time she looked at me I felt my heart skip a beat like the very first time I ever laid eyes on her. She had light yet golden skin that seemed to make her look slightly more paler under the blistering sun, She had smaller more angular and heavy lidded eyes that seemed to fit her smaller yet angular face. Her hair was also jet black and bone straight, coming down to the middle of her back, slightly swaying in the cool summer breeze. She was a rare Alpha born female even though she was built slightly smaller and slightly shorter than the average Alpha but that was all I knew about her past. She always refused to tell me anymore when it came to talking about her parents or even her old pack life, almost as if she were hiding something.

"It's Alpha Leo, you need to start respecting me as your Alpha Meilin, (Pronounced May-Lynn)" Alpha Leo said firmly.

"That will be the day," She smirked as she turned to me.

I gently wrapped my arms around her rather large and protruding belly, hidden under her white summer dress. I bent down to bury my face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her sweet scent as I gently laid as light kiss on her mark.

"How about I let him free for the rest of the week so that he can spend time with his family?" Alpha Leo chuckled and shook his head.

"I say it's about time," I heard her say and I groaned.

Everyone in the pack knew just how full of attitude and pride Mei was filled with, after all she was an Alpha born female, as far as pride they could be even worse than Alpha born males and they bowed down to no one. The fact that I had one as my mate was a shock to say the least.

"Beta Issac, take the rest of the week off to prepare for your son, hopefully giving birth will humble your mate more," Alpha Leo smirked as he walked away.

"At least I can have chil-" I quickly placed my hand over her mouth and watched in shock as Alpha Leo continued to walk away towards the pack house and I sighed in relief as he was finally out of ear shot.

"Mei you can't say shit like that about the Alpha," I growled as I felt her lick my palm and I took my hand away from her face.

"Why? It's true, he walks around and makes it seem like he's above me, Alpha men infuriate me," She grumbled.

"Whether you like it or not he is the official Alpha of this pack and that means he is your Alpha as well, now stop it before my son is born angry," I chuckled as I rubbed circles into her stomach.

She pressed her back into me as I dipped my head into the crook of her neck once more and inhaled her scent as I continued to massage her stomach for her.

"You're not even supposed to be out of bed right now, why must you do this to yourself?" I chuckled into her neck.

"I'm not used to just laying around all day, I'm a worker and a warrior Issac, besides it doesn't really bother me," She said with pride.

"Just because you're used to something doesn't mean it's good for you Mei, look," I said as I cupped my hands right under her round belly and slightly lifted, not too much to hurt the baby but just enough to relieve her from the extra weight momentarily.

She moaned in relief and satisfaction as she slumped against me and smiled. I slowly let go of her stomach and allowed her to shift her weight so she wouldn't fall over.

"Wasn't that so much better?" I said as she turned around and wrapped her arms around my waist.

"Alright alright I'll admit that your right, maybe I should go lay down," She huffed as she poked out her bottom lip slightly.

"Did you visit the pack healer to pick up your medicine yet?" I asked.

"No I completely forgot,"

I pushed myself away from her and bent down as I swooped her up and carried her bridal style, her arms quickly wrapping around my neck, startled by my sudden movement.

"Issac you don't have to carry me it's fine," She protested as I began walking towards the pack healers hut.

"Don't protest Mei, I noticed you shifting your weight on your feet every so often, I know you're tired and your feet hurt," I smiled and placed a light kiss on her forehead.

She said nothing after that. She only laid her head down on my shoulder.

"Most mates when they find each other, mark and mate each other almost instantly...does it bother you that it took me a year to finally get comfortable around you to even kiss you?" Mei asked.

"No, even if it would've taken you longer I would have still waited, we are only 23, we have our whole lives ahead of us, I would do anything for you," I explained.

"But why? Why do you treat me like this?" She asked quietly.

"Because I love you, from the moment I laid eyes on you I decided to dedicate my life to you and only you. The moon goddess paired us together for a reason right? Why should I fight that?" I explained as I continued to carry her throughout the pack.

"But I fought it at first, I just don't understand...the things that I've done in the past, I don't deserve a mate like you," She said as she buried her face into my shoulder. We finally arrived in front of the pack healers hut and I gently placed her down and steadied her so she wouldn't lose her balance. I delicately grabbed her chin and tilted her head up so that she was now staring at me. I knew the moment I met her that I would memorize every inch of her face, I never wanted to forget it. Every crease, every line, every freckle or mole, even her facial features. She had a small mole right on the outer corner of her left eye that only disappeared momentarily whenever she smiled. She always had a look of cautiousness on her face, constantly looking behind her as if someone would jump out and try to attack her from behind, but I would never let that happen to her. She would always scrunch up her nose slightly whenever she was about to say something sarcastic or mean and whenever she was nervous she would bite her lips until they grew raw and ended up bleeding.

"That's true you definitely put up a fight with me, you refused to tell me where you were from, who your parents were or how you even got here. But what you've done in the past doesn't matter to me, what you do now with me is all that matters, besides we've all got some things in our past that we aren't proud of but that doesn't define who we are," I shrugged my shoulders and grinned at her.

Her brown eyes filled with tears as her lip began to slightly quiver and she quickly pushed her hair into her face, blocking my view of her features.

"It should be a crime to make a pregnant woman cry," She sniffled as she quickly tried to wipe away her tears.

I slid the hair tie from her wrist and began grabbing at her hair so I could put it up in a ponytail so that it couldn't block her face from my view.

"It should be a crime every time you wear your hair down, you know I prefer it in a ponytail so you can't hide behind it," I said as I observed my work and nodded in satisfaction.

I knocked on the door of the healer's hut and was greeted by a much older woman with long white hair, her wrinkles in her skin were very prominent, signifying that she has lived a very long life as a wolf and has seen many mysteries and wonders. She wore a necklace of what looked like vampire teeth around her neck and a long woven brown dress that touched the floor.

"Beta Issac and Beta Meilin, it is a pleasure to welcome you into my studies," She bowed to signal respect.

"Hello Esmeralda, we just came here to pick up Mei's medication ," I explained.

"Ah yes, Beta Meilin, are you still feeling nausea and frequent headaches?" Esmeralda asked as she slinked back into er studies and began rummaging through vials of liquids, powders and tablets of all sorts.

"Yes, it's hard to keep down food now a days but I have to force myself to eat to make sure the baby gets what he needs," She complained.

Esmeralda continued to rummage through her vials until she pulled out a vial of small tablets and handed them to me.

"Make sure Beta Meilin takes two of these once a day even after she gives birth until the bottle is gone, these should help with her complaints and any complications after the birth but I do recommend that she's stays off of her feet for the time being due to the fact that the baby is due any day now," She instructed.

"Thank you Esmeralda, I'll make sure she stays off her feet," I bowed as I walked over to Mei and scooped her off her feet once more as a quiet yelp escaped her lips and she held onto my neck for dear life.

Mei grabbed the vial from Esmeralda before we headed out of the hut and began walking towards our home.

"You're picking me up and carrying me around like I'm a loaf of bread," Mei scrunched up her face slightly before smiling.

"Well I guess I'm carrying a cute loaf of bread," I chuckled.

"Are you saying I'm shaped like bread too?!" Mei argued as she smacked my forehead.

I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear, it seemed like a long battle to get Mei to laugh and joke around with me. In the beginning she was nothing but cold to me but now I could finally say I got her to open up to me and be comfortable with me and I loved every minute of it.

She paused and studied my face for a moment before smiling at me and looking down at my lips.

"Your smile is so beautiful and heart warming, never stop smiling for me Issac," She said before resting her head on my shoulder once more as I continued to carry her throughout the pack yard.

"My parents did say I was always a happy baby no matter what," I grinned.

"Don't you hate your parents for deciding your fate without you even having a say in it?" She asked after a moment of silence.

"Yes and no, even I know myself I'm not strong enough to be the Alpha of my families pack even though I would have been proud to do so, but if my parents hadn't done so I probably would have never met Alpha Leo and it probably would have took me longer to find you," I explained.

"You're always looking at the brighter side of things," She muttered to herself.

We finally approached the front door of our house and I gently placed Mei down so I could open the door. I guided her to the living room where she let out a loud sigh of relief  as she slowly and carefully plopped down on the couch.

"Lie down, I grab a pillow for support," I instructed her.

She laid down on her side on the couch and I quickly ran to get a pillow and gently stuffed it under her stomach for support.

"That feels so much better," She moaned in satisfaction.

"We still have to think of baby names Mei," I said as I sat on the floor beside her, staring into her eyes.

"Fuck, I was never good with things like that," She groaned.

"Well did you have any names that you fancied?" I asked her.

I watched as she thought about it for a moment, her eyes staring off into space as she scrunched up her nose and the lines in her forehead becoming prominent from her thinking.

My father's name was Jiang-Li," She said quietly after a long moment of silence.

This was the first time I ever heard anything about her family since the moment we met and it surprised me that she decided to say something now, but I was relieved.

"Did you want to name him after your father?" I asked.

"No that would be too painful... just Li," She said as she cuddled closer to the pillow.

"Okay, I like that then if that's what you want to name him," I smiled and passionately caressed the side of her face.

She scrunched her face up in discomfort and pain and I quickly backed my hand away from her face.

"I'm sorry did you not like that? I'm sorry I guess I should have asked if you were okay with me touching your face," I said a little sad.

"No no Issac it's okay, I'm having a little pain in my stomach, the baby must be pressing up against an organ or something. It's just a little uncomfortable that's all," She said as she slowly sat herself up and rubbed her belly.

"Do you need anything? Any medication or anything?" I asked quickly and frantically.

"I don't know  but my back hurts right now,  I need to sit up," She fully sat herself up as she rubbed on her lower back and groaned.

"How long were you in pain? Just now?" I asked as I began rubbing on her stomach to comfort her.

"Well...it's been going on for the last 10 minutes but I just thought it was fine," She shrugged her shoulders.

Suddenly her eyes grew wide as she struggled to push herself off of the couch suddenly.

"Fuck Issac I think I just peed a little , I don't know if it's because of the pain," She said a little scared.

I felt her off of the couch and held her in my hands to try and calm her down.

"Everything is okay, we are going to get you to the pack hospital to make sure everything is alright, Ill call for a car so you don't have to walk far," I said as I mind linked for the Alpha to send over a car.

I looked down and noticed a rather large wet spot on the couch where Mei was sitting and I started to get concerned.

Maybe she was going into labor but she was trying to play it off as some other pain. I looked over and noticed she had now waddled over to the kitchen and placed her hands on the counter top, hunched over and began breathing heavily. I rushed over to her side as I began rubbing her back and caressing her stomach.

"Is this helping at all, do you need anything else from me?" I asked.

I noticed her body began trembling uncontrollably as I looked at her face and noticed tears in her eyes.

"Something wrong," She muttered to herself lowly.

"Something's wrong with the baby?!" I asked frantically, unsure of what to do in this moment.

""Issac please calm down the baby is fine, just promise me you will never stop loving me with all your heart," She said as she turned around with tears in eyes, looking at me with timidness and nervousness in her eyes.

"Of course, I'll never stop loving you as long as I live," I said as I places both hands on each side of her face, reassuring her.

"She smiled and nodded her head.

"Thank you, I'm just scared that's all,"

There was a knock on the door signaling that the car was here to transport us to the hospital. I carefully lead her to the door as I opened it and lead her to the car.

She laid her head down against my shoulder in the car as we pulled off towards the hospital to make sure everything was okay.

"Everything's going to get better, I promise," I said as I kissed the top of her head. I felt her sigh in content as she didn't move her head to look up at me.

Everything was going to be okay, I just knew it.

Everything that has happened to us has all lead to this moment, all of the pain and the pride and harsh meaningless words all lead to a happy ending for us and I just knew it. She was everything I wanted and more.

We got to the hospital and we were immediately rushed to the maternity ward where we were greeted by her doctor.

"She's been feeling pains in her stomach so much to the point it's been making her bladder uncontrollable," I explained to the doctor as the nurses laid her down.

She looked at me with a confused expression and then back at Mei.

"I have a feeling that wasn't her bladder, what she felt must have felt the amniotic fluid being released from her amniotic sac breaking," The doctor explained.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Her water broke and those pains she is experiencing is possibly contractions," The doctor dumbed it down for me.

"Well what do I do now?" Mei asked as she walked out from behind the curtain, now wearing the hospital gown and clutching her stomach.

"I'll have to take a look to see how dilated before anything happens," The doctor said as she motioned for Mei to lay down on the bed and began prepping herself.

Mei was going into labor with our child, our very first child together. Nothing could spoil this moment for me.

Or so I thought.

A searing pain spread throughout my head as I clutched my head in agony and crouched low to the ground, wishing for the pain to stop. After a few seconds it stopped as I looked up to see everyone staring at me with concern.

"Beta are you alright?" The doctor asked worriedly.

My eyes widened as chills began to run throughout my body. A pain like that meant that a few of our pack members were murdered within the pack territory, only THE Alpha, Gamma and I could feel it.

'Alpha Leo! Are we being attacked?!' I mind linked to the Alpha.

'Don't worry about it Issac, worry more about your mate and making sure she stays well, I can handle this,' He sent back to me.

I didn't feel secure about the situation at all right now, Mei was in the middle of labor and there was a possible attack happening on the pack right now, then again it couldn't be anything that Alpha Leo couldn't handle, there have been rogue attacks on the pack before and they were nothing compared to Alpha Leo.

"Fuck it hurts! I'm not ready!" I looked up and noticed more nurses began piling into the room. I walked over to Mei's side as I held her hand, watching the tears fall down her face.

"It's okay Mei, I'm right here next to you, everything is going to be okay," I reassured her as I began stroking the back of her hand to try and calm her down. I couldn't shake this uneasy feeling that I had from earlier, if something was happening within the pack I couldn't just ignore it. Was there a possible breach within the territory? Was there a rogue attack or another possible attack from another pack?

I wanted to make sure I was able to protect Mei and my incoming child from any possible danger no matter what and no matter what it cost.

Mei spent an hour in labor in the hospital which the doctor told us she expected it to be longer since this was Mei's first birth. I watched in shock and in awe as Mei held the baby to her chest with such an exhausted expression on her face. She held onto him tightly, as if scared that he would be ripped away from her. He had sparse black hairs all over his head since both his both and I had jet black hair. He was so pale, almost translucent but yet he was bigger than what I imagined for a newborn, his tiny fingers curled up in a ball, slightly waving his limbs around, as if getting used to this space around him. I looked at Mei's face and noticed her eyes slightly red and her face wet from the tears streaming down. I reached up and gently wiped them away, unsure of why she was crying.

"He's just so beautiful, I never imagined myself finding my mate and then having a child with him. It's almost too good to be true," She said quietly, as she answered my unspoken question.

"He is beautiful, such a beautiful child to come from such a beautiful woman," I smiled up at her.

She lightly chuckled and shook her head.

"You're so corny sometimes,"

I looked down and noticed the baby now with his eyes open, staring up at us with a giant smile on his face, looking between the both of us. He had bright blue eyes, similar to mine as he looked up at me with curiosity.

"Smiling already little one? What a happy little baby," I chuckled.

A sharp pain surged throughout my entire head as I clutched it in pain, it was stronger than the one earlier, nearly unbearable as I dropped to the ground and began began rocking back and forth, waiting for it to finally end.

"Issac what's wrong?! What's happening?" I heard Mei's behind all of the pain in my head.

"Something's is wrong, something's happening within the pack. I have to find out what's happening," I said as I stood up against the pain.

I looked down at Mei and our son, I have to protect them at all cost, no matter what, no matter who the enemy may be because they were all I had. I bent down and kissed Mei on her forehead as she looked up at me with concern and slight fear in her eyes. I couldn't blame her, she as in a vulnerable state after just giving birth and she couldn't do anything in defense while her body was healing.

"Please come back to me Issac," She whispered, so quietly I almost didn't catch it.

"Of course, everything I do is for you, even just living," I smiled and then turned to the door as I noticed staff began running down the hall. I ran out of the room and stopped a nearby curse who was running down the hall.

"What's happening, where is everyone going?" I asked her as I held onto her arm.

"I'm sorry Beta Issac, the Alpha has informed all of us to barricade the hospital entrances so that no one may enter due to the safety of the sick and or elderly," She explained to me.

"Take me to the nearest exit that hasn't been blocked off yet, I need to find out what's happening," She nodded her head and we began swiftly walking down the hall as she led me around.

"Has the Alpha told anyone what's been happening?

"Unidentified wolves have entered the premises, that's all we were told," She said as we reached a door that nurses and faculty members were just getting ready to board.

"Wait, before you board it up I need to leave to assess what's happening," I said firmly.

Everyone swiftly bowed before allowing me to past past them to exit the hospital. The moment I stepped outside I noticed the chaos everywhere. There were people running around as wolves chased after them, snapping at them. Wolves were fighting each other while others fought in their human form, People being slaughtered left and right, as blood splattered everywhere on the ground.

I needed to find the Alpha quick but I couldn't sense his presence anywhere.

"How disappointing this pack turned out to be, is it because of old age Leonardo or is it because you truly are weak?" A muffled deep voice boomed throughout the pack.

It sounded like it came from the front entrance of the hospital. I ran around the entire building towards the entrance to such a horrifying sight. There were a group of wolves standing a few feet away from the hospital entrance and in the front seemed to be a woman. Her complexion was so deep as it seemed to shine in the sunlight despite the blood splattered on her arms and torso. She didn't have a shirt on but instead her chest was bond to give off the illusion of a flat chest with bandages wrapped around her. Her hair was split into four sections, each section in long braids that reached down to her hips. She had on black cargo pants at seemed to hug her body but at the same time slightly loosened against her hips. She was bare foot, her seemed covered in a red slick substance that seemed to be blood. What disturbed me most about her appearance was that I couldn't seen her face at all, She had a very bloody hockey mask covering her entire face, all I could see was a bright gold of what looked like her pupils against the black of the eye sockets.

She crouched down slightly as she grabbed a fist full of Alpha Leo's hair in front of her and pulled his head back so that he was looking up at her. His eye was bloody with all kinds of gashes and cuts on his face. HIs shirt was torn to shreds on his body showing off the different bruises and gashes littered all over his body.

"Bring her forward now," She ordered.

When she spoke her voice sent chills down my spine and it made me want to bow my head in obedience but that couldn't be possible, was this person an Alpha even more powerful than Alpha Leo?

I heard a scream and I watched as two people brought forward Luna Faye, Alpha Leo's mate. She was a woman with slight white hair littered in with her dark brown wavy hair. Despite the white hair you wouldn't be able to tell her age unless you carefully looked at her face and noticed the slight wrinkles next to her eyes whenever she smiled. Now she had a face of terror that seemed to show her age more. She had wide bright light brown eyes that always had a glow to them whenever you saw her, now a glow of fear harbored in those orbs.

"Don't touch her!" Alpha Leo roared as he struggled against the mysterious woman.

I watched as the woman slammed Alpha Leo's face against the ground to silence him. The two people threw Luna Faye against the ground, opposite of Alpha Leo and backed away into the crowd once more.

"Or what? You'll kill me Leonardo? You'll make me wish I never did? You'll torture me? You'll make me regret the day I ever attacked your pack? I'm just getting a rush thinking about it now!" The muffled voice said behind the mask.

She let go of Alpha Leo as he struggled to pick his head up off the ground and watched as she walked over to Luna Faye and pulled her up by her hair.

"You have such beautiful hair, If only it were the same color as mine I would cut it off and braid it into my own hair like how it is now. I always make sure the hair of my enemies never goes to waste," She said as she pulled on her own braids and laughed, showing them off.

"What do you want from us?" Luna Faye cried out.

"You are harboring something that belongs to me and now I want it back, I don't like my things being taken from me and now to atone for your sins I will kill half of your pack and make the other half mine, sound fair enough?" She asked as she looked down at Luna Faye.

Luna Faye looked up at the woman and spit at her mask as she looked at her with disgust.

There was a moment of silence before the woman slammed Luna Faye on the ground, slightly cracking the cement under her.

"I was going to make your death quick because this wasn't personal but now I'm going to take it personal," The woman said.

She slammed her foot against her shoulder and I watched in horror as she grabbed Luna Faye's right arm and began pulling it backwards, trying to tear it off. Her blood curdling screams filled the air and I felt my feet glued to the ground, unable to do anything, what I was witnessing was horrifying and it felt like I couldn't do anything about it.

I was watching my Alpha and Luna being tortured right in front of my eyes, two of the strongest people I know being tortured by this mysterious person.

There was a pop sound and a tear as I looked up to see the woman now holding Luna Faye's torn arm in her hands and Faye bleeding out on the ground.

"I'LL KILL YOU!!!!" Alpha Leo roared before shifting into his fierce giant dark brown wolf. Its eyes were pitch black as it snarled and positioned itself in an attack stance, glaring at the woman.

"A dance! Oh Leonardo you spoil me so but I'm not in any mood to dance with you right now," She said as she threw Luna Faye's arm up in the air and slightly crouched down in attack stance herself. Veins became prominent in her arms as they began to bulge out, her nails now growing into sharpened black talons.

"Oh what the hell, maybe one dance wouldn't hurt, may I have this dance Leonardo?" She teased as she chuckled.

Alpha Leo's wolf came charging forward, snapping at the woman but with quick movements she ran at him and slid right under him, slashing at his underside causing him to collapse. She grabbed ahold of his tail and began squealing as she began swinging his giant wolf around in a circling, causing everyone around her to back up so that they wouldn't get hit by the wolf. Finally she threw him up high into the air.

"Look at the little puppy fly," She said before crouching low and launching herself high into the air, causing the cement to crack under her feet as she launched. She landed on top of his wolf and grabbed onto his ears and she pushed her foot into his back as they slammed back onto the ground, Alpha Leo taking all of the impact. A crater formed with them both in the center, the woman still on top of Leo's now wounded wolf. She hopped off of him and I watched as he slowly began shifting back into his human form.

"My my Leonardo, you let a woman take the lead in the dance? That's not very Alpha like of you now is it?" She continued to mock him as she walked back over to the unconscious Luna Faye and observed her.

"My patience is wearing thin and my time is growing short so I will cut to the chase," She said as she flipped Luna Faye over and plunged her fist into Luna Faye's chest, the shattering of her chest plate echoed in the wind and I watched in terror as the woman pulled her body arm from out of her chest, with Faye's heart in her hand.

Alpha Leo cried out in pain as tears began to slide down his mangled and broken face, he couldn't move a muscle, all he could feel was the pain of losing his mate, especially right in front of his eyes.

"The heart is the most vital organ in the body next to the brain, such an important organ, given the job to pump blood throughout the body, supplying oxygen and nutrients to the tissues, removing the unnecessary waste...such an important and major role for such a fragile thing," She said as she held it in her fist observing it.

"I'm going to give you an option Leonardo, your body is beyond healing, by the time you heal you will have already died a most agonizing death of a broken heart and a torn soul due to your mate dying, or I can make your pain go away instantly and your soul may be reunited with your lover, I give you this choice because I am merciful," She walked over to Alpha Leo in the crater and crouched down in front of him, still holding the heart in her bloody hand.

My body began to shake in frustration and sadness as I watched Alpha Leo mouth the words 'Please release me,' up to her. A man I looked up to, looked at as a father figure. One of the most strongest men I knew begging for death, it just wasn't right.

With swift movements she lifted his head up and instantly slit his throat with her talon like nails.

"I was the only one able to take away your pain," She called out as she watched his blood begin soaking the ground and him beginning to lose consciousness.

"Have you been enjoying the show Beta Issac?" She stood up and looked in my direction. I watched as everyone around her began to draw their attention towards me.

How did she even know I was here?

"Do you know what this pack has stolen from me Beta Issac?" She said as she began walking in my direction.

"I don't even know who you are, why would I know what we've stolen? You've stole way more from us just now than I can imagine," I balled my fist at my side and couldn't stop staring at those golden pupils behind that mask.

"Well I'm about to take a lot more from you," Was all she said.

I heard a screamed from the hospital as I looked over at the entrance to see Mei being dragged out by her hair while still carrying the baby.

I felt my heart sink as her screams reached my ears and my eyes laid upon the tears falling from her eyes as she squirmed against the doctor's grip, the same doctor that helped us give birth.

"TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF OF HER!" I took a step to lung forward but was immediately stopped by a wet sticky tight grip against my throat.

It was like staring death right in the face and all I could see behind that mask were those prominent gold pupils staring back at me, her speed was unbelievable, her strength was incomparable, nothing i've ever seen before.

"You're different from the others, you were born a Beta but you give off the aura of an Alpha, how peculiar," She said as she observed me.

I grabbed at her mask and tightened my grip against it as I felt it shatter under my touch. She threw me to the ground and backed away, leaving me gasping for air as I coughed and sputtered.

I looked up and I almost couldn't take my eyes off of her face. She was looking down on me with a smirk on her face and her canines grown out, she had an oval like head shape with very strong bone structure, she had high cheek bones and a button like nose with a slightly longer nose bridge. What stood out to me the most were her eyes, it was like staring into a melting pot of pure gold, they were so bright it was almost hard to look at them.

"I just had a change of heart, instead of killing you I'm just going to break you," She smirked as she looked down at me.

"I don't want your mercy," I spat at the ground.

"Oh this isn't mercy, this is far from mercy my love, by the time I'm done with you, you'll be wishing for death to come sooner," She said as she licked her lips.

"Stand up," She said.

I stood up and looked over at Mei who sat on the ground looking at me with fear as she tried to calm the crying baby.

"Oh where are my manners? Alpha Isis Talia," She bowed her head in front of me.

I took this opportunity to sprint at her and attempt to smash my fist against her head. She quickly stood up and caught my fist in her hand and smiled at me.

"Silly silly doggie, didn't your owner ever teach you how to behave?" She laughed as her face was inches from mine.

Before she could say another word I head butted her, catching her off guard as she stumbled back holding her head. This must have been the first time their Alpha was caught off guard like that because everyone surrounding us stepped forward with concern.

"DON'T," She bellowed out in her Alpha tone causing everyone including myself to freeze on the spot. I've never heard such a powerful tone like that from an Alpha, only Alpha's had the special abilities to command their pack members by using an authoritative tone that sent a chill through their members and was immediately received by their wolves. Not many have been able to use it against wolves outside of their pack except for this woman right here.

Her voice made my body instantly freeze as I wanted to drop down and bow my head to her but it took every bone in my body to fight that urge.

She raised her head and smirked at me as she looked at me with a slight dazed look in her eyes as she toyed with her front braids.

"I love it when they play rough with me," She licked her lips and then lightly bit her bottom lip.

She raised her hand and beckoned for me come at her, her middle and index finger to motion me forward.

I sprinted straight at her without the slightest hesitation in my step, coming at her full speed as I felt my wolf taking over to take her down. I lunged forward, attempting to grab at her throat but she stepped to the right out of my reach but quickly I was able to kick her left foot from under her so she would fall to the ground. I watched in amazement as her foot slipped out from under her and she fell back but she didn't hit the ground, her right leg was still planted firmly on the ground and her back hovering just above the ground. I caught the smirk on her face before she kicked me in the stomach with the same leg I kicked out from under her and she sent me flying. It all happened in a split second.

"Beta born from an Alpha born family, you're strong, your instincts and reflexes are superb and not to mention your smell and aura gives off an Alpha born, you're amazing," She grinned at me.

I was confused for a moment until she dashed over to me on the ground lightning speed and grabbed my face in her hands as she smashed my head into the concrete. Pain erupted all throughout my head, also as if my skull was cracking.

"You may be amazing but you'll never be better than me," I heard her say from above me. I felt her foot slam into my back and apply pressure until I felt my ribs begin to break under the weight. I couldn't do anything as I laid there wincing and groaning in pain, I couldn't even pick up my head from off of the ground, the way she was able to immobilize me in one move was astonishing.

"My my Mei, you were definitely in luck with this one as your mate but now it seems your luck has ran short," I felt her move off of my back and I noticed her walking towards Mei.

I grabbed at the bottom of her pant leg and held on with all the strength I had left to keep her away from Mei, it was all I could do in the moment but I wish there was more time.

"I like him, he's a fighter, such a shame he had to be attached to you," She yanked her foot away from my grip effortlessly and walked right up to Mei as she crouched low in front of her.

"What do you want with her?!" I shouted out against the pain in my throat.

"You never told him Meilin?! You never told him how YOU sought after ME? How you even killed YOUR own family in cold blood to prove to me that you worshipped me and were devoted to me. You were going to be the most powerful Alpha female by my side and what did I send you to this pack for as your first mission? WHAT DID I SEND YOU TO DO MEILIN?!!" She screamed out as she grabbed her by her hair and dragged her over to me. She held on tight to the baby as tears streamed from her eyes as she looked at me.

"I'm sorry Issac, I was sent here to kill Alpha Leo and Luna Faye but then I met you," Mei said as she sobbed.

"Enough with the tears Mei, they are useless to me as you are, born an Alpha Female all you wanted was power, you wanted to be seen and heard instead of treated like a breeding dog who could do more than just push out Alpha born males but what have you become? Just the very thing you hated," Isis smirked as she looked down on Mei.

"I don't believe you," I coughed out.

"Stubborn little puppy, explain to him Meilin as to why you're nothing but a failure to me now," Isis said as she began toying with her braids.

"My-my family saw as nothing more than someone who had a higher chance of giving birth to Alpha born males, they had no plans to make me Alpha of the pack even though I was the eldest in the family, they would've rather gave it to my younger brother so I ran away and promised I would come back stronger to take what was rightfully mine. I would hear rumors about Alpha Isis so I made it a mission to find out if there was really an Alpha Female as strong as vicious as the stories and then I finally found her in the Supreme Constellation pack," Mei explained with a slight hiccup in her voice from crying.

"The Supreme Constellation pack was originally my fathers pack, such a vicious pack with such a poor choice of name. After I killed my father I took over his pack in secrecy. When Mei found me I could already see the potential in her, the way she bowed down to me, the blood lust in her eyes for revenge and power, such a rare find to see in a young girl but of course I wouldn't just take her in because she worshipped me so she left and when she came back to me I learned she murdered her entire family including her mother, father and two younger brothers and successfully took over the Celestial Moon Deity pack," Isis laughed and wiped a tear from her eye.

I looked over at Mei with disbelief written all over my face. It just couldn't be true, she never wanted to tell me about her family or where she even came fro but was this the reason?

"Issac I'm sorry, I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want to lose you. I was so desperate to make a name for myself and so power hungry that I was willing to do anything to get what I wanted," Mei said with her head hung low, I could tell she was ashamed of her actions.

"You were so perfect Meilin, WE could have been perfect together, after I learned you didn't accomplish what I sent you here to do why do you think I waited so long to teach you a lesson? Everyone knows Alpha Females are at there weakest the moment they give birth, their wolf spirit has gone off to heal their body leaving them weak so that they can recover," Isis smiled manically as she crouched low in front of Mei.

"You owe me your soul Meilin, the binding agreement was made and there is no backing out of it, you have broken my heart and the contract so now your soul belongs to me," Isis said as her eyes began to glow brighter, drawing Meilin towards her.

"Leave her alone! Don't touch her! Mei I don't care what you've done in the past! You owe this woman nothing just please don't leave me!" I cried out, trying to inch closer towards them but my broken body refused to move.

"Issac, please never stop smiling, your smile is too beautiful to disappear from the world," Mei said as tears began to fall from her face.

"TAKE ME INSTEAD!!! I'LL GIVE YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT JUST PLEASE SPARE HER!!" I screamed out against the burning pain in my throat.

She stopped moving. Her eyes stopped glowing revealing her pitch black pupils as she turned to me with a curious expression.

"I'm interested, how far would you go to save this woman's soul?" Isis said, now fully facing me.

"I would do anything to save her," I said sternly, slowly but surely gathering my strength to pull myself up off the ground.

"Would you replace her heart with yours?" She questioned me.

I didn't understand what she meant by replace her heart with mines but I was willing to do whatever it took to save Mei, even if it meant my life being taken.

"Yes, anything for Mei," I said proudly, kneeling on the ground.

"Perfect," She said as her mouth twisted into a grin and her pupils began to glow a bright gold again.

"Issac she doesn't mean what you think she means! Don't do this!!" I heard Mei scream out as the baby began balling his lungs out.

"Knife," Isis commanded to the group surrounding us.

Someone stepped forward and handed her a long sharp knife before quickly stepping back amongst the group.

"This calls for an emergency ritual because we cannot wait for the blood moon, by doing this ritual the moon goddess shall accept Meilin as her own again and she will forgive her heart and soul, you on the other hand...your heart shall belong to me for as long as you live, you shall never disobey me, you will serve me until I deem your time being done with me and you shall be by my side your ever waking moment, do you agree?" She explained as she looked at me with a smirk on her face.

Did this mean I would never get to see Mei and my son again? We would never be together as a happy family? It was a sacrifice I was willing to make sure that Mei and my son both lived long and happy lives, even if it meant without me.

"I agree," I said sternly.

"Such a good puppy," She laughed as she brought the blade to her left hand and sliced open her palm.

"Issac stop she's going to-" I looked up to see someone grab hold of Mei as they slapped their hand against her mouth to quiet her down.

Maybe I was making a mistake and she was trying to warn me. But before I could react, I felt Isis slap her bloody hand against my mouth unexpectedly, her warm blood oozing into my mouth. I felt my heart skip a painful beat as my body began to convulse in pain.

What was she? Was she a wolf like us or was she something else?

She removed her hand from my mouth, grabbed the knife in her bloody hand and intwined her right hand into mine. She slammed the knife into the top of her hand causing it to go through both of our hands as I hissed in pain.

"Your body belongs to me, your soul belongs to me, your heart belongs to me, your soul Issac shall take the place of Meilin, serving by my side and never leaving me until I deem your death...is that clear Issac?" She continued to look me dead in my eye as the pain continued to surge through my body making it hard to think.

"Yes," I gasped out.

She tiled her head up to the sky as she began to mutter things under her breath.

"BY the mixing of our blood, the one who feeds from my blood shall belong to me, his life is mine, his soul is mine, his heart is mine-" She continued to mutter things that I soon couldn't even understand because it was in a different language but I wasn't concerned with that.

My heart felt like it was on fire but my body felt a painful chill that was sweeping across it, nearly unbearable but then...it stopped.

i looked down and noticed our hands were no longer intertwined and the knife was no longer through our hands. I looked over at her noticed the biggest smile on her face as she reached up to gently caress the side of my face.

"You love hard and you truly are a fighter, it almost makes me regret what I'm about to do," She said sweetly before standing up and walking over to Mei who was struggling against the person holding her down and crying.

"Take the baby," Isis said with the knife still in her bloody hand.

"What are you doing? You said you wouldn't hurt her, you said she was saved!" I cried out, struggling to stand on my feet.

"What I said was your heart has now taken her place and she now no longer owes me her soul but that doesn't mean she longer has to deal with the consequences of her actions, this is what happens when you play in the dark before understanding what truly lies in the shadows," She grabbed Mei by her hair and pulled her to her feet as someone came up to take the baby away from her.

"Please don't do this to her, I'm begging you," I dropped to my knees from exhaustion and looked up at them with desperation in my eyes.

"Issac I'm sorry, this is all my fault. I'm so glad I got to meet you and experience a true love," Mei said as she looked at me with red puffy eyes slicked with her tears.

"I love you," She said right before Isis dragged the knife across her throat from behind, slicing it open.

My throat grew dry and hoarse as a burning sensation began to fill it and I thought I could hear someone screaming in the background. It took me a while to realize I was the one screaming as I looked down at Mei's lifeless body as it continued gushing blood from her throat.

"It's such a shame to waste such a life, I truly did love Mei like a pet but unfortunately with some pets, no matter how much you train them they will always disobey you," I looked up to see that Isis was now holding my son in her arms, rocking him back and forth gently, him falling asleep in her arms.

"What a beautiful little boy, I can tell that he is an Alpha born male, so rare to come from a Beta born male. I may be cruel but I never take pleasure in taking the life of a child," She looked down at him and frowned as she continued to rock him.

I couldn't think, I couldn't even speak, it felt as though my heart was shattering as I continued to look at Mei's lifeless body. This was how it felt when a wolf's mate dies, no wonder it was rare to survive from. It was absolutely painful. I felt the tears escaping my eyes as I crawled over to Mei and pulled her into my arms, hoping I could feel some type of movement, a breath, a heart beat.

I gently pushed her hair out of her face and looked down at her, her face was covered in her own blood but despite that her face just seemed pale, cold and in pain.

"Mei, how am I supposed to continue smiling when I no longer have you with me?" I whispered quietly to her.

"Hold him one last time Issac," Isis said as she placed my son into my hands.

"One last time?" I asked confused.

"If I were allow him to live, eventually he would learn what I've done to his parents and it's a possibility he would stop at nothing to hunt me down and murder me, that I do not have the time or patience for," She said, placing him in my arms.

His eyes were closed as he slept but his fists were still balled up in the air as his head slightly rocked to the side, experiencing whatever dream came to him as he slept. He indeed was beautiful and to think an Alpha born male came from me a Beta born. Isis bent down, her pupils no longer glowing gold, now a pitch black. She squeezed a drop of her blood from her finger into his mouth and before I could react I noticed him swallow and then finally drop his little fist to his sides, his body becoming motionless.

"My blood is too much to handle for adults, to children it's fatal," I looked over at her with pure rage in my eyes. My blood boiled as the thought of killing this woman right now ached through my bones.

But my body wouldn't move, hated for this woman filled me to my core but it didn't reach my wolf, he was almost content.

I looked down at both Mei and my son in my arms confused.

"I want to kill you, I want you to suffer for what you've done but for some reason I can't do it," I said.

"Your soul is mine, no matter how much hate and anger you have for me you may never disobey me, I am your Alpha until I let you part ways with me, whatever feelings you have towards me don't matter because I am now your Alpha," Her voice was low and seductive, almost as if it were putting you in a trance.

Why me?

I had it all in my hands, everything I ever needed. I looked up to Alpha Leo like a father figure and he guided me and accepted me for who I was. I found Mei, I found love, we grew in love and we had a children together who was supposedly a rare Alpha born from me of all people. But it was taken away too soon.

What have I ever done to deserve this?

I felt her hands snake down my chest from behind as she leaned close to my ear, her breath tickling the side of my face.

"Now Issac...dispose of the bodies," She whispered to me in her Alpha tone.

My entire body lurched as I tried to fight hard against the command looking down at Mei and my son in my hands.

"Yes my Alpha," I said as tears began streaming down my face.

I wanted to fight, I wanted to fight against the command and fight against her but it was as if there was a tight grip around my heart, forcing me to listen to her command, there was no way around it.

I was trapped by her side.

(Flashback over, back to present day, Isis and Issac are both at Alpha Kaiden's pack after the dinner meeting)

I watched as Alpha Kaiden stood up from the floor finally and walked away from Alpha Isis's door.

In truth I didn't hate Alpha Kaiden, not even a bit. But what I did feel was pity for him, to think he was the unlucky person to be Alpha Isis's mate was like a death sentence.

I walked up to her door and hesitantly knocked on it, immediately it opened revealing Alpha Isis with an annoyed expression on her face.

"Come in," She said as she turned around, leaving the door wide open for me. I stepped inside the room and noticed Alpha Michael still sitting on the floor tied up and blind folded while Luna Astra sat on the bed with the covers draped around her as she stared at me.

"Alpha you called for me?" I asked as I closed the door behind me and looked at Alpha Isis who bent down to examine Alpha Michael.

It looked as though he was waking up now, he began struggling against the restraints and looked around the room but all he saw was the darkness of the blindfold.

"Yes, there has been some interesting turn of events that could be useful to us in the future involving Alpha Kaiden's pack but I also want to talk to you about what's happening with Alpha Michael his pack," She said as she ripped the blind fold from Michael's eyes.

He looked at her with wide eyes and confusion as he looked over at Luna Astra on the bed.

"Astra do you love this man?" Alpha Isis asked out loud.

The room was silent for a moment, not even a breath could be heard.

"I-I'm not sure honestly," Luna Astra said hesitantly.

Alpha Isis stood up and walked over to the bed as she crawled onto it and sat on Luna Astra's lap, straddling her. She titled her chin up so that she was looking her in the eyes and she gently caressed her bottom lip with her thumb.

"Let me reword that question. Is this man, the one who brings you down, physically puts his hands on you. emotionally torments you, doesn't see you as an equal and tries to look for every way to get rid of you truly the man you wish to be with?" She asked softly with such a caring tone in her voice.

Alpha Isis always knew how to dig into other people to get them to do what she wanted them to do. It was like a natural born gift for her.

"No, he is not the man," Astra said confidently.

"What if I told you I could free you from the shackles of your mate bond, free of the one who holds you down and make you powerful?" Isis caressed the side of her face in a loving way.

"I'd owe you my life, I would worship you like the powerful goddess you are!" Astra said quickly.

Alpha Isis smirked and gently grabbed her chin, hovering inches away from her face.

"Such a good puppy, would you be willing to give your heart to me and I could make you in charge of the Divine Celeste pack, in exchange you shall follow my every command but behind the scenes, the pack shall secretly become part of the Supreme Blood Deity pack, I will give you clear instructions on what I want to happen," Alpha Isis explained.

"But what about him?" Astra motioned over towards Alpha Michael sitting on the floor.

"Give me your soul, devote your life to me and your problems will soon disappear," She said.

"Of course, I am all yours, I belong all to you," Astra said with no hesitation and no hesitation in her eyes.

She was a power hungry woman who would stop at nothing for power and in this moment, she recognized that Alpha Isis was on another level and she wasn't turning this down.

"If only little Meilin were this obedient she would still be alive," Alpha Isis said as she climbed off of the bed and walked over to me.

I balled my fists at my side and looked away from her.

"I know how much you hate me Issac, how much you loathe me and you want nothing more than to see the light fade from my eyes...but that won't be happening," She laughed as she stepped closer to me, our bodies inches apart.

"Instead I want you to do what I asked of you and that's for you to make Kaiden hate you as much as you hate me," She said seriously.

"He doesn't like me already," I stated.

"It's not enough Issac, for you to finally be released from me and for the plan to work I need him to want death for you,"She said manically.

"You truly are a villain, Alpha," I said in disgust.

"A villain does things for revenge, I do these things because I can, I deserve the world and if that makes me a villain than so be it," She shrugged her shoulders and turned away from me.
