It was the night before my concert, and I was living my best idol life. The energy was wild—I was in Seoul for a bit, and the anticipation was killing me. I was ready to perform, ready to show the world what I was made of. The fact that I was going to perform Pomagrante, my latest track, made it even more exciting. The song was everything I had worked for— I'd written it with all the emotions I had bottled up for a while. When you're an idol, you have to let your personal life flow through your music.
I could hear the faint thrum of the bass from the rehearsal studio, and I couldn't help but let my lips curl into a grin. My choreography was tight, and my vocals? Well, let's just say I was acing it. Performing was my favorite thing in the world—it was where I truly felt like I was home. The crowd would get loud, and I'd lose myself in the beat. I was ready for that rush.
But before all of that, I had an even more exciting mission: Jeongin.
He was coming to my concert. My brother's friend, Jeongin. The sweet kid who was clearly too shy to ever say anything, but I could see it in his eyes when he looked at my brother. It was cute, honestly. I didn't know if he realized it, but it was obvious. He needed a push, though, and who better than me, to give him one?
We'd already planned to hang out after the show—just a nice day in Seoul. Maybe shopping, maybe getting food, maybe just exploring. My fans were cool, but sometimes you need a break from all that, So I thought, why not make a day out of it?
I was sitting backstage, putting on my final outfit before the show, all sparkles and leather—definitely giving off that "actually look at me and not spend all your time recording " vibe. I pulled out my phone, checking in with Jeongin. I could tell from his message he was a little nervous. Poor dude. But that was exactly why I was going to make this day perfect for him.
I had to call him again. You know, to remind him how cool he was. I dialed his number and waited.
"Hello?" he answered after a few rings.
"hey, Jeongin! Are you ready to be amazed by me tonight or what?" I said, my tone playful, as I adjusted my hair in the mirror.
"I-I think so?" he responded, still a bit uncertain. "Are you sure you want me to come?"
"Of course, I do! You need to experience the full Hannah. You've seen nothing yet." I looked at my reflection. "And don't tell my brother, but you're already my favourite. Can't wait for you to see Pomagrante live. It's going to blow your mind."
He chuckled, but I could tell he was still nervous. "Okay, I'm excited. What time should I get there?"
" your VIP remember? Just show up before the crowd rushes in, and I'll have your ticket at the door. After the concert, we're gonna go to some nice places, do a little shopping, get some food, you know... hang out like you know people."
"Okay, nice. I'll see you there." He sounded more confident now, and that made me smile.
After hanging up, I started hyping myself up for the performance. It's always a rush before the curtain goes up, but it's also kind of like being in the zone. I was ready to bring my all. Pomagrante was everything I wanted in a song. It was a celebration of life, love, and everything in between—something that was gonna get everyone up on their feet.
When it was finally showtime, the lights dimmed, and the bass dropped. I hit the stage with all the fire and energy I had in me. The fans were going wild, chanting my name as the beat pulsed through the speakers. The lights flashed in time with the music as I danced my heart out. Pomagrante was my moment—my chance to show everyone who I was. It wasn't just a performance; it was my story.
I could see Jeongin in the crowd, looking a little out of place but also totally transfixed by everything. I sent him a wink from the stage as I twirled, and I could see his eyes widen a bit. Good, I thought. He needed to realize how life could be if he let himself be him.
After the concert, I made my way offstage, feeling the adrenaline still coursing through my veins. I caught up with Jeongin, who was looking a little starstruck, and grabbed his arm, leading him backstage. "So, how was it?" I asked, teasing him.
"It was... wow. I didn't expect it to be like that," he said, still in awe.
"Well, I told you. I'm amazing." I grinned. "Now, what are we doing tomorrow? I'm thinking some shopping, but first, we gotta get some food. Are you in?"
Jeongin smiled, finally feeling a little more relaxed. "Yeah, I'm in."
We spent the next few hours wandering through Seoul, going to shops, grabbing food, and talking about everything and anything from fav songs to first crush. Honestly, it was refreshing to hang out with someone who wasn't constantly in the spotlight, who didn't care that I was an idol. Jeongin didn't look at me like I was some unattainable person—he saw me for who I was.
By the end of the day, I could tell Jeongin had a new perspective on things, and I had a feeling he was going to open up more—maybe even about that thing with Chan. But for now, I was happy just to be a friend to him. Someone who understood.
After a day full of laughs and good vibes, I dropped Jeongin off at his place, giving him a hug before saying goodbye. "You're a nice person, Jeongin. Thanks for hanging out."
"Thanks for inviting me, Hannah. I had a great time," he said, and I could see a hint of something in his eyes.
Maybe it was the start of something new for him.
"Anytime, I.N. Anytime," I said with a wink, before heading back to my place, already thinking about the next time I'd see him—maybe when Chan finally got his act together.
