2 Days Later
"Wow, Namjoon-ah, this is amazing." Soyoung looked around the huge fancy restaurant, as they were directed to their table. "I went here with my members during one of our days off to relax. It's one of my favorite restaurants." Namjoon followed the waitress, and when they arrived the table was outside on the dock, giving a perfect view of the Ichon-Dong river, and the cars passing along the Hangang Bridge. It was just outside Seoul. It was high up, but none of them were worried about heights.
"Here you are." The waitress set two menu's down, while Namjoon pulled out Soyoung's chair for her. "Oh, thank you." She laughed nervously and sat down, then Namjoon sat across from her.
"Is there any drinks I can get you started with?" The waitress asked politely. Namjoon was deciphering between Soju or water. He didn't want to be too cliche with wine, but he was worried Soyoung might think he was a lightweight if he chose water. Or that he didn't like Soju.
"I'll have a glass of wine, please." Soyoung told her, smiling. "Alright, and for you, sir?" She turned to Namjoon. "Uh, I'll get..." He started panicking and overthinking. He knew he was indecisive. "D-do you have Soju?" He asked, unable to find the drink menu in time. He started feeling awkward. "Yes, sir, we do." The waitress nodded. "I'll have that." He told her. "Bottle or glass?" She asked him, writing it down. "Glass is fine." Namjoon cleared his throat.
'If I got a bottle she might think I'm an alcoholic or something. God, Namjoon, what the hell?! She knows your a kpop idol, not many of them are alcoholics, shut up and stop talking to yourself. Wait, that means I'll have to ask for another drink when I'm done with the glass...will she give me a shot or a glass? Oh god, this is going to be weird, Namjoon you are a grandpa turtle.' Namjoon cleared his throat. "Actually, could I have a bottle? So you won't have to get me a new drink." He asked, laughing nervously. "Of course, I'll be right back." The waitress smiled and walked away.
"I've got a high tolerance, but wine just seems like the perfect drink for this amazing place." Soyoung was looking around in awe, at the beautiful paintings and flower decorations. "It really is." Namjoon smiled, looking out the window. He started to bounce his leg under the table anxiously. Soyoung was beautiful, she had her black hair braided back and a white dress that looked tight, but she stated it wasn't. It stopped mid-thigh and was a little short for what Namjoon's seen, but he couldn't complain. She was wearing small heart earrings and a bracelet on her left arm, which matched the earrings. Namjoon almost felt insecure sitting in front of her, when she looked this beautiful.
He was only wearing a black and red suit, with nice shoes but it felt over-dressed. If it didn't go well he might not ever wear this suit again. His heart raced when he looked at Soyoung.
"So, what will you be eating?" Her sweet tone broke Namjoon from his thoughts. "I haven't even looked yet." He laughed nervously and picked up the menu. "There's so many delicious choices here." Soyoung smiled as she scanned the menu. "Do you like sea food?" She asked him, curiously. "I like to look at animals in the sea, crabs are my favorite creatures so I don't eat sea food much." Namjoon shook his head, smiling. "That's adorable." She laughed quietly, placing a hand over her mouth shyly. "I'll eat sushi and squid sometimes, though." Namjoon told her. "Your dimples are very cute, Namjoon-ah."
Namjoon looked up at her, and his heart throbbed at how cute she was. He definitely liked her more than just a friend, he knew it. "Thank you." He almost stuttered. "You look very stunning, by the way, very beautiful." He complimented her, looking into her eyes. "Oh, thank you, I tried." Soyoung giggled.
'Kim Namjoon, don't you dare look at her chest, don't you dare. Look back at the menu and decide what you're going to feed your stomach with.' Namjoon thought as he looked down, back at the menu. 'Don't creep her out, God.' He mentally sighed. He managed not to look at her chest, and gave himself a mental pat on the back. Her dress was very open in the front, but Namjoon controlled himself well. "It looks very pretty."
'I can tell he's trying not to look at my chest, really Soyoung? Is this the best you could do for a first date? Yeah, just go ahead and show him everything while you're at it. I didn't know it would be this open, otherwise I would've worn something else or a nice shawl over it.' Soyoung thought as she scanned the menu. 'He's controlling himself though, so don't get pissed if you catch him- you're pretty, Soyoung, it's not that he's a pervert or anything, you are just very pretty in this dress.' She told herself.
'Namjoon, do not start thinking inappropriate things, because if you do I will punch you in the face for being dumb.' Namjoon thought to himself, taking a deep breath. 'Stop it- maybe I should have sushi, it's been a while. Hm...I wonder if she's wearing lace- goddamn it!' He set his menu down. "I'll be right back, I'm going to find a restroom." He stood up and grabbed his phone. "Oh alright." Soyoung smiled at him. Namjoon nodded and walked away.
He found the men's bathroom and went inside, rushing to the sink to splash water on his face. 'Namjoon, if you're going to be a goddamn pervert then just jump off the goddamn balcony.' He let the water run down his face, cooling his flustered face. He sighed, letting the water in the sink run straight down the drain. 'What a goddamn waste of water...God I'm bad at this, I need a restart button.' He looked at himself in the mirror, resting his hands on the side of the sink. 'Okay, listen here, Namjoon. Stop being depressed, you have to relax because this is someone in the world who doesn't actually know you. She's interested in you, so don't screw this up. You can drown in your regrets after, but for now, go back, order some food, and make some small talk. It's not hard, Namjoon.' He looked up at himself, and took a deep breath. He turned the water off and dried his face, fixing his appearance before heading back to the table. "I'm back." He laughed as he sat down.
"I think I'm going to get Galbi, I'm a big meat lover." Soyoung giggled as she looked up at Namjoon. "They have Galbi?!" Namjoon gasped happily and his eyes shot all around the menu. "On the third page. I'm guessing you like Gilbi as well?" She asked. "Hell yeah." Namjoon responded on autopilot. He looked up and covered his mouth. "Sorry, I don't know how you feel about-" "No, it's fine. It's not like I haven't heard worse." Soyoung shook her head, smirking. "Or said worse." She looked away, and they both laughed.
"Here are your drinks." The waitress returned with a smile, handing Soyoung her glass of wine. "Sir I'm going to need to see an ID for the-" "Oh, right." Namjoon reached in his pocket for his wallet. "Here, sorry." He got out his ID and handed it to the waitress. "That's okay, here you are." She handed him his ID back and placed the bottle of Soju on the table. "Have we decided what we would like to eat yet?" The waitress asked, getting out her pen and notepad. "I think we'll go for two orders of Gilbi." Namjoon told her, glancing at Soyoung to make sure it was what she wanted. She nodded.
"Alright, and will that be all?" She asked. "Yes." Namjoon nodded to the waitress and Soyoung. "Alright, I'll get it started for you." She wrote some things down and smiled, walking away.
"Thanks."
