CHAPTER 57
~Secrets~
#Past
“What have you done, Jackson? No, why did you kill that man?” Hwasa asked as soon as she walked into the house.
Jungkook dropped the champagne glass of tequila and got up to his feet. “It was my mistake, okay?”
She furrowed her brows a little, confuse. “Your mistake?”
“He wasn’t the target.” He answered with a sigh, running his fingers through his hair in annoyance.
“Wait, are you trying to say…” She gulped hard, the word was too heavy for her mouth. “Jimin was your target?” She asked quietly, watching Jungkook closely.
He didn’t say anything which literally confirmed her suspicion…her nephew was his target.
Fuck shit!
Didn’t they agree not to kill him?
Didn’t they talk things out before they continued searching for him?
So was it his plan all along to betray her, kill her nephew and get the throne leaving her with nothing?
Can he even be trusted?
Damn! She almost killed her nephew because of jealousy and obviously wickedness.
Does that little child deserve it?
Was it his fault that his dad collected a throne that doesn’t belong to him?
Was it his fault that he was born into the home of royalty?
He did nothing wrong.
Hwasa angrily walked closer to Jungkook and landed a hot slap on his face, shooting daggers at him.
“WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?” He yelled angrily, flaring in anger.
“You psychotic bastard! How dare you? We both agreed not to harm that little child, so how dare you go behind my back to do things your fucking way!”
“You tried to backslide, Hwasa.”
She shook her head. “No. I tried to correct things, Jackson.”
“What do you mean?” He questioned.
“Jimin has absolutely nothing to do in all of this. It wasn’t his fault that his dad collected your throne…so why exactly does he have to die because of it!”
“He is living the life of Lisa!” He said in annoyance, grabbing the glass of tequila and gulping from it.
“And?” Hwasa folds her arms over her chest. “Does that justify anything?”
“What did you just say?”
“Let’s just say Jimin is a lucky child…and honestly, being lucky isn’t his fault.”
“Wait, why are you saying all of this things? Do you plan to pull away from everything?”
She let out a deep sigh, taking a step away from Jackson. “I know you are obsessed with the throne and want to give Lisa and I a good life…but, is that really what you intend to do?”
“What?”
“Is Lisa and I your main priority? Or your selfishness is?”
“Everything I’m doing… I’m doing it for the both of you.” He said.
“You said the same thing to Lisa mother, remember? But what happened, you killed her.”
“By mistake.” He stated, justifying himself.
“If you keep killing people by mistake…then you will definitely get killed by mistake as well.” She sighed again. “I’m done.”
“Excuse me?”
“Let’s break up, Jackson. I feel so guilty right now. I wasn’t the one who shot a man dead and destroy a happy home…but it feels like I was a part of it.” She paused. “I almost got my nephew killed. I think I should just stop being jealous and be happy for my baby sister. I should just do things that will make me happy and make me successful. And I think you should do the same.”
“Are you breaking up with me, Hwasa?”
“It’s for the best.”
“You can’t do that.” He said, shaking his head. “You’ve always wanted this… you’ve always been part of this…so how dare you think about breaking up with me?” He growled.
“I’m not thinking about it, Jackson. I’m breaking up with you right now! Yes, I’ve always wanted to rule but that's stupid! If my sister got that life then that means she deserve it. Yes, I’ve always been a part of all this bullshit, and trust me, I regret it now.” She paused. “I know you want to get back your throne…and that’s fine but how about you get your throne without killing anyone again. Or how about you let go of it.” The ringtone of her phone filled the empty house. She dug it out from her pocket and answered the call. “How is he?”
“He’s getting better…where are you?” Eunbyeol asked. Her voice were so dry and husky, which means she has been crying and haven’t drank a sip of water _this was all her(Hwasa) fault_
“I’m on my way.” Hwasa said.
“Okay.” The line got disconnected afterwards.
“I have to go.” She informed. She turned around and made few steps towards the door but stopped and turned back to Jackson. “Just so you know, if you dare lay your hands on my nephew again…I will kill you.” With that said, she left.

*DOHWA*
“Here,” Sumi said, tossing a sandwich to Dohwa. “Eat that.”
Dohwa stared down at the food, making no attempt to eat from it.
Sumi glanced at her, raising a questioning brow at her. “You are not going to eat it?”
“Why should I? How sure am I that you didn’t poison it?” Dohwa questioned, eyeing the sandwich, suspiciously.
Sumi laughed, pouring herself a cup of red wine. “Don’t worry, baby sis…it isn’t poisoned. And besides I don’t intend to kill you…yet.”
“Yet?” Dohwa repeated.
“Hmm.” She hummed, sipping from the glass of red wine. “I will kill you when I achieve everything.”
“Who are you working for, Sumi?” Dohwa asked, dropping the sandwich beside her.
“I don’t work for anybody, baby sis. They work for me.” She said, taking another sip of the red wine. “But, I do have a partner.” She smirked.
“Who?”
“Why do you want to know? It’s not like you know him or any…oh, you do know him.” She exclaimed, her face were filled with excitement.
“What?”
She stepped closer towards Dohwa, twirling the glass around her fingers, smiling deviously. “The murderer of your husband.”

#Past
Jackson was sipping from the bottle of whiskey, drowning in his agony, misery and heartbreak.
He truly loved her.
He truly wanted to give her the good life that she deserved.
He was doing everything for her and his daughter and not for his selfishness.
He really wanted her to be happy and satisfied.
She wanted her sister’s life and the only way he could make that dream come true was to become the king and the only way to become the king is to take out his brother.
And just when he was few steps away from achieving his goal…the table have to turn around for the worst.
Jackson took another large gulp when suddenly he heard a loud knock on his wooden door, disrupting his quiet moment.
Who could be knocking by this time of the night?
Could it be Hwasa? Have she finally come back to her senses? Or have she reported him to the police?
He slowly got up from the couch and quietly make his way to the door, grabbing the empty bottle of whiskey on his way, using it as a weapon.
He got closer to the door, and peek through from the peephole but saw no one.
The knock came in again, making Jackson clenched onto the bottle tightly, preparing himself for the worst.
The person knocking was definitely not Hwasa and neither was it the police…it was someone else.
Someone like him.
He grasp the doorknob and quietly turned it open, bringing the bottle in front of him but instead of seeing a masculine man like himself, he was met with a total different person…a beautiful woman.
But being beautiful wasn’t what caught his attention…, the familiar face was what caught his attention.
He looked behind her, in search of something…oh, no. Someone.
She pushed him aside making her way into his house. “Don’t worry, I came alone.”
Jackson shut the door close behind him. “What are you doing here?”
“Ah, you must have been there. And here I was thinking I got the wrong guy.” She smirked, going closer to the bar and grabbing a bottle of red wine.
“What are you talking about?” Jackson asked, pretending to be clueless.
She grabbed a empty glass and poured herself a drink then turned around to look at him. Her gaze slowly went down to the bottle he was holding. “You can drop that. I’m not here to fight you.”
“You haven’t answered my question yet.” He told her, dropping the empty bottle down and stuffing his hands into his pants pocket.
She sipped from the glass, breathing a sigh of relief. “I will answer you question but that’s after you’ve answered mine.”
“What?”
She stepped closer towards him, tilting her head to the side. “Why did you kill him?”
“What are you talk…” She cuts him off by placing her hand around his neck, rubbing his body, seductively. “What are you doing?”
“Getting the truth from you.” She replied, smiling, taking another gulp from the glass. “Is it working?”
Jackson pulled away from her, creating a space between them. “You think I killed him?”
“Who else did?”
“You were holding a gun as well, remember?”
She nodded her head. “Oh, yeah. But didn’t fire the gun.”
“There were two other armed people there.” He pointed out again.
“Yeah. But neither did they fire the gun. And now, that leaves us to you. Why did you shoot him?” She asked, glaring hard at him this time around.
Jackson sighed, running his fingers through his hair. “You have no proof that I killed him.”
“Of course I do.” She started smiling. “Your woman.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I’m talking about Hwasa. I saw you staring at her after killing Eunwoo.”
Jackson eyes widened in complete shock. How did she know about Hwasa? Who was this woman?
“You seem surprised.” She laughed.
“How did you know about Hwasa? Are you both working together?”
“Nah! She is too innocent to work with me, Jackson.” She smiled deviously at him. “I did some research before coming here just in case you are wondering.”
“What? Are you going to tell the police?” He asked, dropping the acting.
“Not yet. But you have to tell me why you killed him.”
“He wasn’t the target, okay!” He snapped out, throwing his hands in the air. “The child was.”
“The boy.” She muttered under her breath, nodding her head in understanding. “You should have killed the woman standing close to him instead of shooting him!”
“The bullet would have hit the right target if only he didn’t step in the way.” Jackson groaned.
“What are you talking about?”
“You weren’t the only one who saw me, okay? The man did. He knew I was targeting the boy so…” He sighed again. “He jumped in the way.”
The glass cup she was holding suddenly dropped on the floor, breaking into pieces. “Are you trying to say…Eunwoo saved the child?”
Jackson shrugged. “You can put it that way. But trust me, I never mean to kill him.”
“Damn it!” She cursed out loud, banging her fist against the wall beside her.
“Tell me, are you going to report me to the police?” He questioned, smiling.
“Uh…are you suppose to be smiling right now?”
Jackson grabbed another cup and poured red wine then handed it over to the woman. “I wouldn’t have…if I I didn’t have anything against you, Sumi.”
“How did you…know my name?” She asked, confused.
He smiled. “You tattooed your name.” She ran her fingertip against the tattooed name across her shoulder blade. “I’m Jackson, by the way.”
“I never asked for your name.”
“I was only trying to be fair. I know your name so it would be fair if you know line, don’t you think?” He questioned.
“What do you mean by you have something against me?” She asked.
“I wasn’t the only criminal there, or was I? You were pointing a gun at your sister…you definitely wanted to kill her.”
“I didn’t. It was only a threat.” She said through gritted teeth.
“Maybe. But do you think your sister will say that to the police? Because obviously, you were pointing a gun at her, threatening to shoot.”
Sumi clenched her fist tightly, glaring hard at him.
Jackson smirked, taking a sip from the red wine he had offered to Sumi. “Now tell me, do you think she will really speak to your favor?” He tilted his head to the side. “Because with what I heard from all of you, you both are not best of sisters. And she will do anything to bring you down.” He walked closer to her and tuck a strand of hair from her face to the back of her ear. “And locking you up in prison will be to her favor…it will make her the winner and you…” He shrugged. “The loser.”
Sumi angrily pulled a gun from the back of her trouser and pointed it at him. “Are you threatening me right now?”
Jackson laughed, dropping the glass of red wine on the table and raising his hands up in surrender. “Threaten? Nah, I’m not threatening you. I’m only warning you. Tell on me and I will tell on you too. It’s that simple.”
“What do you want?” She asked.
“What do I want? Or what do you want? You obviously came here to ask me about his death but hey, I like you so I will offer you a deal.”
“What are you talking about?”
“You want to supercede your sister, or don’t you?” She stayed quiet, still pointing a gun at him. “And going to prison won’t make you achieve that but rather something else will…” She raised a questioning brow at him. “Being a queen.”

“You wanted to be a queen?” Dohwa asked in disbelief.
Sumi chuckles, shaking her head. “Queen? Tch, nah. My aim was just to supercede you. And Jackson was right…being a queen will make me achieve that.”
“You are working with Eunwoo’s murderer just to achieve your greedy aim?” Dohwa questioned angrily.
“He never wanted to shoot him, baby sis. His target was someone else. Dohwa only jumped in the way, acting like a hero.” She rolled her eyes.
“What?”
Sumi sighed, gulping the remains of her drink and setting the empty glass on the table. “This talk is getting boring, baby sis.”
“Tell me, have you achieved your desire now?” Dohwa asked.
“Soon. But that’s after that boy is gone.” She said with so much disgust and hatred.
“Are you talking about the boy? The little witness?” Dohwa questioned.
“Yeah. Honestly I wanted to kill that boy with my bare hands. Because of him, Eunwoo died. I hate him. But then again, it’s pointless killing him. And that’s why I decided to do something else.” She smirked.

“What’s your plan?” Sumi asked him, killing one of his clones.
They were currently playing chess while drinking and talking about their plans.
“I will grant Hwasa’s wish.” He stated, smirking, taking a step forward, using one of the clones.
She raised a brow at him. “What do you mean?”
“She asked me not to touch a strand of hair from the little child.” He stated. “I want to grant her that wish.”
“Well, I don’t.” Sumi said angrily, clenching her jaw.
She lost Eunwoo because of that child. The urge to snap the boy’s neck and watch him bleed to death was so strong but she’s trying her very best to control her anger.
“You have no choice, Sumi.” He said.
“Why not?”
“If we kill him then Hwasa will surely tell on us and you know that.”
“Then we should kill her too.” Sumi suggested.
Jackson shook his head negatively. “Never. I love her so much and trust me, we aren’t touching a strand of his hair.”
“Love?” She scoffed. “That word kills… even Jesus died because of it.”
“Well, I’m not going to die because of it.”
“But you are holding yourself back because of it.”
“I’m not!” He denied.
“You are!” She accused.
“I’m not!” He denied again.
She rolled her eyes. “You are! And you better don’t think of denying it again.” She warned. “What are your plans now?”
“I don’t know.” He stated, making a move with the black king.
“What do you think about two kings being in one war?” She asked, using her queen to make a move.
Jackson shrugged. “What do you think?” He threw the question back at her.
“One of them will want to be in control, don’t you think?” She answered, using her king to make another move.
“And?” Jackson pressed on, using his queen to make another move as well.
Sumi smiled. “Who do you think will rule?” Her queen made a move, taking out Jackson’s queen.
Jackson made a move with the black king, taking out Sumi’s queen. The two king _black and white_ were facing each other now.
Jackson knew that if Sumi should take one step using her king then his king would be dead but there was nothing he could do to prevent it from happening.
Sumi smiled. “Obviously not the one who walked straight into the mouth of the lion, with the aim of justifying his queen.” She raised her perfectly shaped brow at him, tapping on the chess board.
“What are you..?”
She made a move, killing Jackson’s king but what surprised Jackson was the fact that it wasn’t her king that made the final move but a white knight behind the king.
He didn’t even noticed it!
“How…?”
“I knew that if I kill your queen, you will want to kill mine…so I decided to lure you in.” She smirked.
“Shit! I must say that was pretty smart.” He confessed.
“I know.”
“But how is that suppose to help in this situation?”
“We’ve been attacking the wrong person, Jackson. As much as I want to kill that little boy…I don’t think it’s going to be a good idea.”
“But he is the heir.”
“Obviously. But will killing him help in anyway? If you kill the heir, will that take the father off the throne?” Jackson didn’t say anything. “Yes, it will devastate them but that won’t stop him from ruling and neither will it stop him from having another heir.” She paused. “To kill a plant, you have to cut it from the root and not from the branch.”
“Wait, are you trying to say we should kill the king and queen?” Jackson asked.
“What do you think?”

*JIMIN*
“You despicable girl!” Jimin yelled in annoyance, battling to break free from Lisa.
Lisa started laughing. “Calm down, will ya? I’m just getting started.”

“Wow, I love your necklace!” Maria said to Eva, staring at the silver necklace around her neck.
Eva grinned, holding it. “Thank you. My boyfriend actually got it for me.”
“For your birthday?” Maria asked.
“Yeah.”
“Wow. It’s very beautiful.”
Lisa stood in front of the door, glaring at blushing Eva and Maria.
She clenched her teeth and her jaw.
How can this be possible? How can this bitch take her boyfriend from her? How can she be the one without a boyfriend now?
She will surely make Eva pay one way or the other.
And she know just what to do.

“I took it. I didn’t tell you about Hyunjin and I because it will be stupid and shameful to tell you about it.” She smirked. “My main goal was to make that bitch pay dearly for taking him away from me. And I did made her pay.”
“By trying to accuse her of your own crime?” Jimin questioned in disbelief.
“What can I do? It was the only idea that came into my mind.” She shrugged. “I talked to father again about killing Hwasa and this time around, he agreed. I took her death as an opportunity to bring Eva down. It was more like killing two birds with one stone.”

Hwasa stood in front of the dance studio, her ear were pressed against the closed door as she listens to the cries of her nephew.
She wish she could do something, anything for her dear nephew.
But she couldn’t.
Come to think of it, she was the cause of all this.
Tears rolled down to her face as she pulled away from the door and began walking away.
She knows for sure that Jimin wants to be alone and walking in will only make her angry.
She wrapped her arms around herself as she walked down to the path that led to her room.
Just as she walked into her room she was met with something. No, someone.
“Lisa, what are you doing here?” Hwasa asked, taking a step backwards, trying to create a space between her and the armed girl.
Lisa laughed, jumping off the window and closing the space between herself and Hwasa. “I’m here to do what father refused to do all this years.”
“Lisa…you can’t do this.” She breath out, pleading.
“Why can’t I? I mean, you are not my mother to tell me what I can and can not do.” She said, pointing the gun at Hwasa.
“Lisa…”
“Don’t worry, I will take very good care of your nephew.” She smiled mischievously, pulling the silent trigger at Hwasa.

“Hwasa didn’t know I was working for my father. It was meant to be a plan.” She smiled.
“You were the one who screamed, weren’t you?”
“Nah. It was Maria. But she ran off like a scared chicken. You just didn’t see her because you were blind. And as for me, I was just standing behind the door when your walked in. It wasn’t my intention to hit your head but…, I wanted to feel superior.” She sighed. “I planted the necklace the very day Namjoon came by to inspect. Do you want to know why I took a picture of myself wearing that necklace?” She shrugged. “It was just to give you a lead. I wanted Eva to be the suspect but damn, that detective is just so smart! He had to go ahead to suspect me too.”
“So you were the one who killed that guard?”
“Obviously. He caught me and that will definitely ruin my plans.”
“How about my parents?” Jimin asked.
“That had absolutely nothing to do with me, boy. I was your age at that time, remember?”
“Then your father was the one who killed my parents.”
“Sure. Anyway, it’s time.” She smirked, pointing the knife at Jimin’s left eyes.
“Wait, why are you pointing the knife at my eyes?” Jimin asked.
“I want to stab it.”
“What? Why my eyes? Why not my stomach like most psychopath always target in movies. What’s your problem with my eyes?”
Lisa rolled her eyes. “I hate your eyes. Now, shut up and die!”
