CHAPTER 20
~
*DOHWA*
She let out a deep sigh, bringing the phone down to her side, she walked over to the center table and dropped the phone there before going into the kitchen.
She doesn’t even know why she was in here but she felt the need to busy herself with something. Just anything that will keep her thoughts away.
She grabbed a towel and started wiping off the already cleaned counter. She started wiping, cleaning…doing anything that doesn’t seem relevant or useful.
It was better. Better than dying of guilt. Better than been in pain. Better than hating herself than she already has. Better than being depressed. Better than thinking about her pathetic life!
Yes, she was pathetic. Very.
*Which mother wouldn't want her child regain his memories?*
Lily question rung in her head.
She stopped wiping as the words kept repeating over and over again.
Tears flowed down to her cheek as realization came down on her…. she was that mother.
But she doesn’t hate her son. She doesn’t enjoy seeing how in pain, but she has no other choice. If losing is memory is for the best then so be it.
She was better than having your life at risk. It was better than watching your son being at risk.
~FLASHBACK~
*What do you want!?*
*Hey, I never expected that greeting actually.*
*Get away from here! Get away from my son!*
*What if I don't?*
*I will have no other option than to call the police. How sure am I you weren't the one who killed my husband!?*
*Your husband? Tch. You mean that loser?* The person came closer to her with a smirk plastered on their face. *What if your son's next?*
*What?*
*If you do anything stupid I will do something stupid as well.*
*What do you mean?*
They shrugged. *Well, I hate repeating myself twice. Anyway, I just need to confirm if truly he is useless.*
*He is. He can't remember any fucking thing so you don't need to be worried.*
*You have a point. I guess I have no business here.* They turned to leave but stopped suddenly and turned back to look at her. *The day he regains his memories… he will die*
~END OF FLASHBACK~
She quickly shook the thoughts off her head. She hadn’t seen that person’s face that day but she knew the person was a girl due to how her voice sounded.
Dohwa was scared.
She was scare of losing her dear son.
And maybe that’s the main reason why she’s afraid of her son regaining his memory.
Maybe that’s the main reason why she’s doing everything withing her strength not to make him remember.
Maybe that’s also the reason why she’s hiding the truth!
Her son’s life comes first and even if it means covering up the murderer of her son then so be it. And even if it means…
Her ringtone brought her out of her thoughts. She walked towards the table and snatched her phone from it, the caller ID was Lily.
“Hey.” She said, as she answered the call.
“How are you, dear?” Lily questioned.
“I’m fine. How are you too?”
“Great. Are you busy?”
Dohwa hesitate for a while, contemplating whether to say yes or no, she went for the latter. “No. Why?”
“Can we see?”
“Hope no problem?” Dohwa questioned a little bit worried.
“Not really. Just come.”
“Alright then.”

*JIMIN*
Jimin walked out of the bathroom, a little bit tired and stressed out due to the amount of tears he had poured out in there.
He let out a deep breath, sitting down at the edge of the bed. He looks around in search of Lisa but he found her nowhere.
He had left Lisa in here before locking himself inside the bathroom to cry, right? So where was Lisa now?
He slowly stood up to his feet and was about to open the door when Lisa walked in.
“Lisa_” He stopped talking when he saw the young looking man standing behind Lisa. He scrunched up his face, wondering who the guy might be. “Um, Lisa who is he?” He asked, his gaze never leaving his face.
“My prince, this is Mr Namjoon. A detective.” Lisa answered. She turned to face Paulo. “Mr Namjoon, this is my prince.” Lisa introduced.
“Hi, my prince.” The guy whose name was Namjoon said stretching out his hand for a handshake.
“Jimin.” He corrected, taking his hand for a handshake.
“What?”
“My name is Jimin.” He stated, withdrawing his hand from his. “But… what is he doing here?” He asked again, turning his gaze to Lisa.
“We need him, my prince.” Lisa said.
“Need him?” Jimin questioned in confusion.
“I heard.” Namjoon simply said, bringing himself into the conversation. Jimin arched his brow at him in more confusion. “About your aunt. I’m so sorry for your loss.”
Jimin chest felt heavy. The thought of his aunt being dead was really a shock and a pain to his heart. He refuse to accept his aunt's death.
He was angry. He was mad. He was upset. He wanted to pour out all of his frustrations and anger but he couldn’t. There was no victim around him. There was no one to be blamed but him.
“You went about telling strangers about Aunt Hwasa’s death, Lisa?” He said in a low voice, his now teary gaze still haven’t left the stranger’s face.
“I’m so sorry, my prince. But_”
“Who the fuck do you think you are to tell people about my problems and predicament!” He yelled in anger, snapping his head to Lisa’s direction. His gaze were as hard as a rock.
Lisa was taken aback by Jimin’s outburst. She wasn’t used to Jimin’s anger. No one was. Because this prince, her prince was a man who is very pure at heart and too good for the world.
“I’m so sorry.” Lisa begged, dropping her knees to the floor, clasping her hands together and continually repeated the word ‘I’m sorry’.
Jimin chest were beating rapidly fast. He was the one who suppose to be saying that word to his aunt not the other way round. He was the one who killed his aunt. He was the caused of his predicament. He don’t deserve Lisa’s pleading. What he has done was much more worse than what Lisa had just done.
And besides, the poor girl would be only thinking about him and his well being.
He was wrong after all… one might be able to blame oneself but one isn’t about to vent out their anger on oneself but rather on someone else.
“Enough.” He breaths out, shutting his eyes close as he take in deep breath, trying his best to calm down his nerves.
After a while, he opens his eyes, gazing up at the ceilings. “You can leave now, Lisa. I will take it from here.” He reassured.
“Thank you, my prince.” The young lady stood up to her feet and walked out of the ward, shutting the door closed behind her, leaving Jimin and the stranger alone.
Jimin let out a sigh, walking over to sit down on the bed. “I don’t know what she told you but I suggest you leave.” she said, without looking at him.
“Are you sure you want me to leave?” Namjoon questioned, surprising him.
“Excuse me?” Jimin retorted, staring at him now.
“Let me rephrase, are you sure you don’t want to find your aunt’s murderer?”
“What? And what make you think she was murdered?” Jimin questioned, getting up to his feet now.
“Me? I’m not the one thinking that but you are.” He pointed out, shrugging his shoulder.
“Excuse me? Who the fuck are you to say that to me?” He angrily said, glaring at Namjoon.
“Lisa told me.” He said, ignoring his question. “She told me how your aunt died.”
“So?”
“She was obviously murdered, Jimin.” He said pointing out the obvious.
“I know that, okay? But I was too late to save her…” His voice trailed off as hot tears threatened to fall. “No, I was useless.” He whispered more to himself than to him.
“You remind me of someone.” Namjoon said, taking some steps towards crying Jimin. Jimin tried taking a step back away from him but he felt too numb to even make a move. “But there’s a different though, you are blaming yourself but as for him? He blames others.”
Jimin sniffed. “And what does that have to do with me?” He questioned, sniffing.
“Nothing.”
He sniffed again, giving Namjoon a puzzle look. “Listen, Nam..”
“Namjoon.” He helped him to complete it.
“Namjoon” he took in the correction. “I can handle this shit by myself. I will fish out my aunt’s murderer…and my parents ‘and I don’t need your help or anyone’s help to do so.” He said, wrapping his arms around his body.
“Are you sure_”
“Stop asking whether or not I’m sure of my decision!” He cuts him off. “Because I don’t know!” He cried. “Do you know what it feels like to lose someone so dearest to you? Do you know what it feels like to be left alone in this large world with no one to love or no one to love you? Do you know what it feels like to lose a family but yet have a part of a body that belongs to that person? Do you?” He questioned in tears.
Namjoon slowly shakes his head. He was feeling sad for him. He reminds him so much of a certain person. They were both broken. They lost someone special. They are in pain. They are hurt. He doesn’t know what it feels like but he could relate.
“I don’t.” He answered sincerely. “But I know someone who do.”
Jimin stared at him for a while then said. “Please just go.” He breaths out, turning his back against him.
“Fine. But call me when you need me.” Namjoon said, dropping his card on the table beside his bed. He was about to turn around when he spoke up, stopping him from leaving.
“Are you helping that person?” Jimin questioned, his back still against him.
“Yes.”
