~ CHAPTER 17~

"Hey," Scarlett says when I swim over

"Hey" I reply

"You look hot," she says and I smile

"Thank you," I say and she introduces me to Graysons friends

"Guys that is Gray's younger sister Tori"

"Hi Tori" they giggle and I remember them from high school

"Hey guys," I say

"You're the one who was with Shep in senior year aren't you" one girl says

"Ah yes that was me" I reply

"and now you are the one with the baby?" The same girl asks

"Abby!" one says and I guess the girl that asks me is Abby

"Ah yes aswell, she is mine," I say

"Ours" Scarlett replies and pulls me in for a hug "In a non-lesbian way" she adds and I laugh

"Oh isn't that cool having a baby?" they ask

"Yeah, until she is screaming in the night and won't sleep" I reply and they aww

"Can we see her?" Abby asks

"Yeah sure" I reply and I call Holly over

"Let's go see Mummy!" I hear Holly say and I see Holly come over to me with Violet

"Thank you, Holly," I say and I sit on the edge of the pool so I am not in the water. I adjust her hat so it covers more of her face. I let the girls peek over and see her and they swoon.

I let them look at her and I dangle my feet over the ledge of the pool so I am still cool, but not completely in the water. I sit on the side until I think Violet is going to get too hot, so I get out of the pool and into the shade where my mum and aunties are. I lather her back up in sunscreen before we sit under the shade and I feed her.

I listen to what they are saying and they are talking about different types of towels, and I really hope that I do not turn out like them.

"She is beautiful Tori," one of my aunties says

"Thank you, Aunty Shay" I reply

"Too bad her father isn't around" she then remarks and I look down

"Yeah I know," I say and I sneak a peek at Jax from the corner of my eye

"How is she sleeping?" she then asks and the conversation turns back to the baby and what her schedule is right now. I think my aunties ask so they can give an insight on what they think I should do. I get it from everyone, every person I meet tells me how I should parent her.

I just block it out now and listen to her speak, until she finds something else to talk about. I glance at my mum and she winks at me. I stay in the shade before the air gets thick and I take Violet inside so she can breathe better and take a longer nap. I wait inside with her since she is sleeping on me.

I have Scarlett bring in food for me to eat lunch so I don't have to disrupt her before Jane glides in and wants to take her so I hand her over. Jane takes her and goes back outside, so I quickly go to the bathroom since I have been holding in pee for an hour whilst she slept before I resume the party. I walk back and the adults and the kids are separated, they are now in respective groups. I walk over to Scarlett and she has a spot for me. I sit down and they are telling Ellie about highschool

"On our last day Ellie we orchestrated a day full of pranks just to alert the school that's the coolest kids were leaving," Grayson says

"Wow that is awesome" she replies in a sarcastic voice "What else happened?"

"We had a food fight one time," someone says

"There was a whole week where us seniors dressed opposite so the girls wore boys clothes or the boys wore the girl's clothes," Finn says

"That was funny," Alex says and I laugh,

"Alex you have been out of school for years," Grayson says

"Calm down Gray, we were seniors and had fun too" he replies and my smile falls, I didn't get a senior year like this. I spent mine pregnant and starting college since I graduated early

"Our promposals were great," Abby says and they proceed to tell Abby about every promposal, and I pray they don't talk about mine

"-or what about that time that Shep got the whole school to help ask Tori to prom and she still said no," someone says and I look up at Jax and he laughs

"Vic was always a tough one to crack," he says and everyone laughs again

But Ellie doesn't, instead, she cuts off the conversation and starts talking about something else. I frown and I see Jax frown too. I just sit in silence for the rest of the time until mum brings out the cake and we sing to him. As soon as singing and the cake cutting is done, we hear a round of speeches before the party resumes and we all go back outside.

The weather holds and bit by bit, everyone begins to leave, all of our family is gone before the sun is done but Grayson and his friends remain. I take Violet from my mum and walk past Jax who is with Ellie, Ellie glares at me, which I ignore. She does a lot of that lately, or she makes snarky comments to me. I find Gray still with his group and they all smile at me, which at least some people still like me.

"Happy Birthday Grayson," I say walking up to him. Violet is starting to get cranky since she has been passed around all day with different people and since she hasn't had a proper nap

"Thank you, Tori," he says and I lean down so he can kiss Violet on the head

"We are going to bed if that is okay, someone is tired" I reply and he nods

"Goodnight," he says and I pick Lola's hand up and wave to him and I walk her up the stairs into the room. I take her to the bathroom and place her in the little bouncer we have and she starts screaming.

She lets out piercing screams wanting to be held again, when Violet gets tired she gets cranky and just wants to be helo, and I try to move as fast as I can but she is still screaming. Luckily Scarlett walks in and grabs her and she quiets down, whilst I get the rest of the things she needs for a bath

"Wow you have a set of lungs," Scarlett says and we place her in the bath

"She's cranky and wants to be held," I say and she nods

We finish her bath and whilst Scarlett cleans up, I dress her and feed her. I then rock her in the rocking chair until she falls asleep. I fall asleep too and wake up when Scarlett is going to bed. I put the baby down and as soon as my head hits the pillow I fall right back asleep.
