Chapter 35: It Will Rain

"Those scumbags!" Shigaraki accidentally eroded his glass cup while drinking to calm his temper. He shuddered hysterically mad. His eyes widened as he banged the counter of their bar hideout, infuriated. He itches his neck uncontrollably, pissed much.

"Shigaraki, it was time you let go of that scroll..." Kurogiri said, placing another glass of drink in front of Shigaraki. "It was good they took that scroll. It was becoming a problem for you were mesmerized by it too much."

Shigaraki slapped the drink away, and it crashed onto their tv, breaking its screen. "If you weren't an annoying void, I would've disintegrated you!" he shot a livid glare at Kurogiri.

"Have you forgotten? Those Leaf ninjas aren't your priority." Kurogiri answered firmly.

Shigaraki silenced, and as if on cue, news appeared on their tv, about Killer Stain's movements and recent crimes... soon later, another news flashed, an unexpected storm approaching.

[Flashback] - Before Tenten met with Neji...

Broad daylight, in a desolate place. Far from the city, from people, where only demolished buildings and pillars were there to see, but through the use of jutsus, a protective invisible dome was created, concealing the base of the gathered Konoha villagers from the outside. A step across this barrier was as if a different realm.

Inside, the stench of corpses, and burnt dead bodies, were everywhere and so were loud mournings of a variety of ages and gender, high and low pitches.

Various tents were keeping the sick at bay. The place was busy, others were disposing of the deceased, medical ninjas and those capable helped the dying. Some pregnant women who were unfortunately caught by the unknown lightning, that caused their teleportation to this BNHA world, had newly given birth and sadly weaned their rotting babies. Parentless children were there included, crying, missing their families, afraid.

Shikamaru and his sensei Asuma inconsolably passed through the people and headed towards a respective chamber at the corner. In a tent with various sizes of leftover cement blocks on the ground, used for tables and chairs, where the Leaf ninjas present were assembled.

...

"We have it." Shikamaru tossed the scroll after entering, lifting the sheet door of the tent. Kakashi caught the scroll.

The ambiance of the room was yellowish from the candles there.

"It was pretty easy," Asuma followed behind Shikamaru, "Just one shadow possession jutsu and we were good to go," he stated, sliding his gaze to Lee and Gai since they were the ones previously missioned to take it back but failed -(ended up that Lee was caught along with Kurogiri's quirk to USJ).

The look pierced an arrow to Gai's chest, "Well... we didn't know those villains had other plans!" he said awkwardly.

Asuma had a sparkled grin, proud of his student. Shikamaru just exhaustedly rolled his eyes away, "What a drag..." he said.

"Glad Neji found you!" referring to Shikamaru, "Man... you guys are pretty useful," Lee said, standing on his feet after hand-standing beside Gai.

"Pft, now you're questioning your worth?" Tenten teased, chuckling.

"What's important is we have this now..." Kakashi spoke. Sat on one of the cement blocks there, holding the scroll.

Their faces turned serious.

"So, how does it work?" Asuma asked, walked further into the room, and found himself a spot to sit on. He lights up his cigarette with the candle beside him.

"Back in the leaf," Gai shared, "Kakashi and I were strolling around the village when out of nowhere we saw this scroll slide open on the ground."

"The next thing, it morphed the clouds into a warp. Then all this happened." Lee continued the story.

"How'd you know that Lee?" Tenten asked.

"I was following Gai-sensei of course!" Lee exclaimed. Gave Tenten an awkward "Oh," answer.

"That's not what Asuma-sensei asked," Shikamaru inserted back the question, "How will that scroll bring us back to Konoha?" A moment of pause, silence. Shikamaru's gaze sharpened, suspiciously looked at Kakashi, "Don't tell me, you don't know..."

Everyone's eyes then stared at Kakashi worried. Gai just looked at the ground, aware already of the true situation.

"We know how it works and can start at any moment." Kakashi assured, "Just that, we haven't tried it," he dropped the truth, "and... I just hope if we reverse cast whatever warp jutsu it is in this scroll it'll lead us back to Konoha."

Their faces dropped shocked, speechless.

"Just hope?!" Tenten slipped a shout. "So we're not even sure if doing this will teleport us back to Konoha!?"

"Better try than nothing, Tenten," Gai replied.

"What's more," Kakashi continued. His hair down, gazing at the scroll in his hand. "Upon casting it... we'll go through the same process. The scroll opens, warp appears, the sky darkens, and get hit by deadly lightning."

"Painful," Gai backed it up. "And people right now aren't in a good state to endure the excruciating process. To be honest, I think some might not survive the lightning strike."

"What about this world's people?" Asuma asked.

"True..." Shikamaru agreed, "maybe people of this world will get affected and be brought to our world." Shikamaru ruffled his hair with both hands, frustrated, "Ughhh what a drag." he sighed.

"Kakashi can use his lightning nature to focus the warp only on us," Gai answered.

"So only those present here?" Lee clarified.

"Yes." Kakashi affirmed, "That said though, again, we haven't tried it, and it'd be risky to test run a dangerous jutsu like this. We do this once and leave altogether."

Their discussion halted for a minute.

"So we just have to wait for Hinata's plan to succeed..." Shino entered, coughing, weakly walking. They helped him sit down.

"Thanks to Hinata, by tomorrow, after UA's sports fest event we can get everyone gathered, then we'll cast the jutsu," Kakashi said... "Question is..." he gazed at Shino's condition, "if you can still survive till then... and during..."

Shino's eyes widened.

The atmosphere turned cold. Kakashi added, "Will most of the sick here... live by then?"

A swift wind blaze.

"Shino calm down!" Asuma yelled, "Kakashi stop!"

Asuma let out his chakra-enhanced weapon against Kakashi for Kakashi motioned to retaliate. On Asuma's other side, behind him, Shino was covered by Gai.

Shikamaru had immediately stunned both Shino and Kakashi in his shadow possession jutsu. However, Shino's insects were already wrapped around Kakashi's neck.

"Shino, don't," Gai said.

"My insects may be eating my chakra to my death..." Shino ignored Gai, and fiercely looked Kakashi in the eye, "But I understand, my insects are doing it for their survival, and likewise is everyone else is doing right now. They're fighting their best. That includes Hinata!" he firmly stated.

Kakashi's eyes just narrowed, and his brows met. "But right now, people-"

"Don't even think of ditching them!" Shino inserted.

Everyone's eyes widened, realizing then what they were fighting about.

Suddenly Shino coughed badly his insects fell from Kakashi, returning to his body. Shikamaru deactivates his jutsu. Shino fell to the ground, convulsing.

"Shino!" Lee assisted, worried.

"The Hyuuga's...-!" Someone abruptly yelled from outside, regarding the loss of their eyesight.

"The situation has worsened!" Kakashi grunted under his breath. His mind is set. Leaving now is what's best.

"But-!" Lee was bewildered. "You said.. we do this once and all together, right-!?" Lee saw Tenten back away. "Tenten!?"

Tenten ran out of the room (headed to Neji) but suddenly she crashed into someone. Turns out, someone eavesdropped. A woman with a dead child she held on her bosom. The sight made Tenten stop in her tracks. The woman's eyes looked dark, but she had a happy grin on her face.

"Did I hear that right...!?" the woman was shuddering, saying that, excited. "We... can leave... now... now..!!!" she laughed like mad insane. After all the suffering, she finally heard something good.

Everyone in the room got their attention averted, hearing the woman's scream. Their faces formed troubled the moment the woman went away announcing that they could return to Konoha today.

"This is bad..." Asuma uttered.

They can't argue anymore. The majority necessitated leaving now.

[End of Flashback]

"Stop," Shikamaru warned. Neji, right in front of him under his shadow possession jutsu.

Outside the invisible barrier of their camp, Shikamaru stood there to meet them when they return. Tenten managed to bring Neji back to the base, but there was still conflict. Tenten was out of words, she just had Neji chained with her.

Neji had an obvious opposing look. It's undertaken he wishes to wait for Hinata.

"Let me go," Neji said to Shikamaru with fierce eyes. Although he couldn't see, he could perceive Shikamaru's presence and his surroundings memorized. Tenten had a worried expression, hearing that.

"And if I do, would you not beat the heck out of me?" Shikamaru replied sighing deeply, closing his eyes while leaning his head down, "or make a ruckus inside?" he added, opening his one eye, and looking up to Neji.

Neji's face crumpled. "I'm well aware of what happened and how it has come to this point..."

"You're saying you understand?" Shikamaru clarified, raising his eyebrow.

"And you?" Neji hinted.

Shikamaru's eyes narrowed, "I think I do..."

***At Hinata In UA***

"What have I done...?"  Inside the women's restroom, preparing herself, Hinata's face blushed while her hands soaked on the sink. Her eyelids were halfway down. Todoroki's words repeated in her head, that he asked her out. "I'm to leave this world soon... how... do I even start my goodbyes?" Her expression crumpled troubled the red on her cheeks faded, head down, her bangs darkened the sad look in her eyes. Water was still pouring on her hands.

Someone turned off the faucet. It pulled Hinata back to reality.

"Hinata, are you okay?" she heard a voice. Yaoyorozo's.

Hinata flinched her head away and instantly splashed herself with the water on her hands. "I-I was just washing..." she excused. Tried to put up a smile with her eyes closed, she faced her.

"You're spacing out... it's almost your fight with Todoroki, are you sure you're alright?" Yaoyorozo checked Hinata, concerned.

"I-I was... just thinking about it. Todoroki is a hard opponent." Hinata replied, rubbing her nape. Hinata's eyes didn't make eye contact with Yaoyorozo, but it was only because she couldn't see. However, not knowing, Yaoyorozo interpreted Hinata's gesture differently.

Yaoyorozo's facial expression changed, disheartened. She stepped back and retracted her hands from Hinata. Smiled insecure on the floor, "You're amazing Hinata... congratulations... for making it to the finals."

Hinata felt the air wooshed, figured Yaoyorozo bowed.

"U-Uhm-... there's no need for that- you did great too!" Hinata wagged her hands, flustered.

Yaoyorozo's eyes averted, shrank within. The words made her ponder on what great thing she did. "Thanks..." she said dully but didn't mean to be rude. "W-Well, excuse me then." she bid farewell and then went inside a cubicle.

Hinata nodded. A while after drying herself, Hinata walked out of the restroom. She was to turn across a sharp corner wall but then stopped, hearing steps approaching. Based on the sounds of breathing and the way of walking, she inferred it was a man headed to the male's restroom beside.

Hinata waited for that person to pass to not bump into him. However, the moment he crossed and encountered Hinata, the man paused.

It was silent. Hinata still felt the person's presence in front of her. She wondered, is she being in the way? She nudged a bit to give space and went on her way headed to the arena when suddenly

"Those eyes..." spoke the man. , "...the same as Hanabi's?"

Hinata's eyes widened. A murderous aura shrouded, worrying Hinata of what's his connection with Hanabi, "Wh-Who are you?-"

Hinata gasped, suddenly jammed against the wall, choking. Chisaki strangled her, shutting her up. Her legs were restrained by him. Hinata wanted to fight, but her lungs heaved out of air.

"She has a sister...? A relative perhaps?" Chisaki scanned Hinata's features. With his other hand, he took out an empty syringe and pierced her neck, Hinata flinched. "Your existence would make a potential dilemma...." he said, finished drawing her blood he placed it back in his pocket. His tone shifted to displeased, "Species like Hanabi... and you... should be eradicated!"

"Hinata!!!" Yaoyorozo screamed.

Chisaki's gaze averted.

Yaoyorozo froze. For a second, Hinata splattered into a bloody splash but a blink later she's back whole.

Yaoyorozo trembled. The air around tightened. Being inside the restroom's borders, standing behind them, she wanted to just shut the restroom door in fear but at the same time, she can't leave Hinata. Chisaki's cold vicious look petrified her. Hinata was still in his grasp, motionless.

Subconsciously, a tiny smoke grenade morphed from Yaoyorozo's forearm. Nervous, she tried to grab it but it slipped from her hand. Yaoyorozo jerked scared.

Chisaki found the grenade falling, bouncing on the floor, not triggered. Yaoyorozo looked at her failure, cowering more. "Help!"

A moment of silence.

#: "Hinata Hyuuga, requesting, Hinata Hyuuga, please come to the arena for the finals... I repeat," the announcement echoed in the desolate area.

"My bad," Chisaki suddenly spoke up lightly, the dark aura around him ceased. He lets go of Hinata and Hinata just dropped lifeless to the ground.

Yaoyorozo was daunted at the sight. Her legs couldn't move an inch.

"Sorry, I got so excited meeting her personally." Chisaki excused, the name Yaoyorozo called Hinata and the announcement spoken gave him a clue of Hinata's identity and the situation of the event. "Well, so long. I'll look forward to her performance in the finals." With that, he casually walked away.

Still stunned, afraid, minutes till he was fully out of sight, Yaoyorozo then ran to Hinata.

"H-Hinata, are you okay!?" Yaoyorozo exclaimed, kneeling down to her. She was still shaking herself yet she couldn't help but be anxious about Hinata's condition, Hinata's been silent with a vexed expression on her face.

Hinata was perplexed at what exactly happened and didn't quite hear Yaoyorozo's call. Sat on her thighs, Hinata touched her eyes, face, her whole body. She felt revived... and, "My eyes... I can see...?"

...

Chisaki frowned. "Heroes..." he spat, disgusted. "She could've vanished if there wasn't a witness." (which was why he reformed Hinata back to not have evidence against him). He almost lost control of his lust to kill out in the open, not to mention, in UA.

A change in the wind caught his attention. Someone is behind him.

"Did something happen...?" It's one of his underlings.

"Nothing. Just a Hanabi look-alike." Chisaki answered, facing him, and walked on. "Took care of them?" Chisaki asked. He itched himself frustratedly due to his allergy. "I've had enough exposure to filth!"

"Of course... they're dead. This way, the cops stationed here are gone," whispered his assistant, leading him the way. A pause after, "Hanabi?" he asked Chisaki.

"No worries, we're not in a hurry anyway. Eri is my main concern," Chisaki answered.

"What about Hanabi's blood...? There was barely left in the lab," the underling stated.

"That can wait. Time will come, Hanabi will return in need of me again," Chisaki replied, "And also..." he slipped his hand into his pocket, feeling the syringe with his fingers, "For the nonce, I have extra."

[Time Skip]

The audience shrieked the moment Hinata stepped into the arena. Todoroki is also set for battle.

The atmosphere was exhilarating, everyone awaited the final showdown, but Hinata's head was elsewhere, had a shocked depressed look on her face, gazing at the sky... the distant darkened sky. It had the same figure as her last memory in Konoha.

A tear fell from her eye, "What's the meaning of this...?"
