Chapter 30: Nothing Stays As Is

"Hinata!!!!!" Mina ran, sobbing, then cuddled Hinata tight. "We actually won!!!!" she squealed.

Hinata blushed of the sudden close physical contact. "M-Mina..."

"That was close, I almost forgot to breathe!" Sero approached, slammed into Bakugo's side.

Bakugo still stood flustered quiet. The two, Mina and Sero kept leaping around Hinata, praising her.

"How did you do it though?" Mina exclaimed. "When did you switch with your clones?? I thought for certain you were with Bakugo the whole time!" she queried.

"I-It was when our team got separated because of Mineta's team attack..." Hinata explained shyly. "The three clones I made that was with Bakugo gave me a smokescreen to make three more clones for me to land on... the three clones with me I transformed them into different random people, including myself, and hid within the crowd... waited till the time ran out as the others chased Bakugo with the clone me and fake 10 million points." she ended.

"WhooaaH that's so cool!!!" Mina and Sero awed in sync.

Bakugo who listened to the whole thing then spat bitterly, "Tch, how did I not notice that happened!? I was there the whole damn time!" Disappointed in himself.

"Man... what a waste." Hatsume sighed.

Midoriya exhaled deeply. "I'm sorry team!!! If only I was better!!" he shrieked as his knees recoiled to the ground against the flow of his fountain tears.

"Don't apologize, Deku! We still won! lighten up!!!" Uraraka patted him, grinning. Tokoyami assured the same.

Iida robot-chopped his arm and took Hinata's hand for a friendly handshake. "Good game, Hinata. Truly outstanding."

"Congratulations, Hinata! Your performance was remarkable!" Yaomomo clapped her hands, commended Hinata too.

Kaminari, in shock from his own quirk, just pulled up his thumbs, swaying it, then joined his fellow idiot classmates, Mina and Sero.

"Th-Thank you, everyone..." Hinata reddened more, receiving a lot of compliments.

All of them had wide smiles, celebrating their success as the sports fest held a short break time for the students to recuperate.

Most were in merry hearts, but some had personal dealings, off from the fantasy of happiness.

"Shoto?" Hinata peered. Todoroki disappeared without a word. It's not like him from Hinata's perspective. It slightly worried her to not hear anything from him the whole day,

Hinata roamed around the arena, but couldn't find Todoroki. She didn't use her byakugan to save her strength for later. It came to the point, Hinata crossed the audiences' seats, looking for him. The area was packed with people, which made things harder.

Suddenly someone held her shoulder from behind.

"Hanabi?" the person called, pulled Hinata over to face him.

They meet eye to eye. Hinata's eyes widened as she gazed upon the man, Shinsou.

Hinata's mouth quivered in unbelief. "Hanabi...Hyuuga, you mean?" she hoped.

Shinsou stepped backward in shock, his hand instantly lets go of her. The guilty look in his eyes gave away his concealment from the truth of the matter. "N-Nevermind, my mistake." he abruptly turned around to leave but Hinata grabbed onto him.

"You know my sister!? You know right!? Where is she!?" Hinata asked desperately, almost strained Shinsou's wrist.

"I mistook you for someone else, sorry!" Shinsou shoved of Hinata's hand and eagerly wishes to walk away.

"You mistook me for her because we look alike... you know her, I'm sure now!" Hinata persisted.

Shinsou avoided, "No you're wrong."

"What-?" Before another word, Hinata suddenly lost her will in mind.

Shinsou takes Hinata's hands off of him and whispered to her ear, "None of this happened, walk on..."

Hinata followed the orders and walked in no specific direction. But with the crowded place, she eventually bumped into someone that broke Shinsou's brainwash.

"Where am I-" Hinata shook her puzzled head. Her memory from moments ago went vague. "What was I doing..."

"Hey! Red Face!" Bakugo's voice suddenly scurried to her ear.

She turned to it and Bakugo dragged her out of the crowd.

"Bakugo?"

"What the heck were you wandering around for!? Idiot! That cut on your foot! Damn it your blood kept dripping on my hand while at the Cavalry Battle! Aren't you gonna get yourself treated!?" Bakugo grunted, still dragging Hinata behind him.

Pink cheeks appeared from the two. Bakugo embarrassed. Hinata touched, she trodded silently, smiled. "Let's both get treated... your feet too aren't in a good condition.. and we have to get you some shoes." Hinata giggled.

Bakugo walked barefoot with a few scratches on him from Todoroki's ice and pebbles along the way; ever since the Cavalry battle, Mineta's quirk still got his shoes stuck to the ground.

"Duh, I will!! I'm not stupid!" Bakugo barked shy.

[Time Skip]

"Mmmmwuuah!" *Smooch~*

"Thank you very much." Hinata stood up from the white sheets, smiled, and bowed. Suits up her shoe and unfolds back down the left side of her pants.

"No worries, dear, come anytime." Recovery Girl replied.

Hinata elbowed Bakugo.

"Tch! Th-thanks..." he spat forcedly, didn't care to give eye contact to the elder.

Hinata glared at Bakugo, signaling to be more proper, but he continued his stubbornness and kept his pride. "Whatever," he said.

Recovery Girl smiled it off.

Bakugo got on his feet with new shoes provided by the school's extra stack. He went on ahead. Hinata followed.

Bakugo slid open the exit door but then stopped halfway; his eyes glanced behind him.

The air was still, the old lady grabbed on Hinata's hand, tightened weakly, shuddering. Recovery Girl and Hinata faced each other but had their heads low.

Hinata's silk hair curtained her expression, feelings hidden, it left Bakugo hanging to an uncertain surmise.

A drop of fluid fell on the floor between them, who's to know whose eye it came from.

The door nailed shut. Bakugo walked out.

"Don't tire yourself, sweetheart... just make it home," she said, perturbed, kissed the tip of Hinata's fingers as it started to wither again. The purplish color faded, but it's known not to last.

Hinata kindly let go. "...I'll be fine." the edges of her pale lips lifted, stretched the dried trail of her tear on her cheek. "Thank you... really."

...

Hinata exited. Came out from the infirmary back to her pretty color. Her cheeks blushed healthy pink and her lips returned to their beautiful tint, all thanks to Recovery Girl's quirk that maintained her. She puts up a smile, her same soft eyes curved felicitous.

Hinata turned to go back and join her classmates, but halts, meeting Aizawa.

Aizawa stands properly, his back off the wall. "Are you alright?" he asked.

"Mhm," Hinata nodded cheerfully.

He gazed at his student, quiet, supposed words to come out, but nothing happened. Aizawa's concerned thoughts unvoiced.

"Excuse me then." Hinata walked past him. The taps of her steps faded farther away behind him, it clattered through the vacant hallway and echoed to Aizawa's ears.

"I'll leave peacefully after this..." Hinata's words, Aizawa remembered.

"Hinata!!!!" Uraraka raised her hands high while in her cheerleading suit.

"Uraraka!" Hinata waved from behind, skipping to her friend. Hinata too came out wearing the same cheering suit as the other class 1-A girls in the arena.

"Uh- guess you got played as well," Mina said as Hinata arrived.

"I put hard effort into making this dress, but it was just a trick from Kaminari and Mineta." Yaomomo pouted sadly, had her fist to her chest.

Jirou at the corner sulked uncomfortable of her clothes, steaming a grudge against those two boys.

"Oh..." Hinata timidly smiled, tilted her head as she rubbed the back of it.

"But I got to say, you look super cute, Hinata!!!" Hagakure exclaimed, swinging her cheer poms up and down.

Hinata flushed. "Y-You think so?" she said.

"I agree!" Uraraka gave thumbs up, her eyes closed as she grinned wide.

Hinata then noticed Uraraka's hand tottering, nervous look, and her hair pasted wet on her cheeks of her sweat dripping from her temple. Uraraka obviously had heavy breaths but she tried covering her unease.

Hinata placed her hand on Uraraka's shoulder. "You can do it!" she whispered to Uraraka.

Uraraka tried to smile, it crooked along with her brows forming lines on her forehead. "Thanks, Hinata," she replied, a bit edgy. "Eeekkk!!! Why does it have to Bakugo I have to fight!?!?!" she squealed after to relieve the stuck-up tension, wiggled her whole body, and slapped herself a couple of times.

"If I win mine and you against Bakugo, it'll be you and me fight next," Hinata bluntly stated.

"Aww... Hinata, you're making me more nervous," Uraraka pouted and whomped tiny weak punches on Hinata. "You know I can't win against you either."

Hinata giggled. "Sorry."

"I'm dead to both ends..." Uraraka nearly lost her spirit but came back to her senses after. "You'll be fighting against a class 1B student, huh?" she uttered, scanned her eyes around, and found Hinata's opponent by the sides, casting her stare on the person. "That vine-hair girl...Ibara Shiozaki." she got the name from the screen board above.

"It'll be quite difficult..." Hinata said under her breath. She looked down on her hand's skin. "If I don't finish it quickly."

*Thud*  Uraraka collapsed.

Victory went to Bakugo.

Uraraka was carried away unconscious.

Bakugo exhaled heavy, grabbed on his arm, staving off the agitation of his muscle. He grunted within himself. His hair concealed his red eyes as his chin stayed close to his neck. Strolled out of the battle floor into the dark tunnel ahead of him.

...

"Played the villain huh Bakugo?" Sero said with his hands on his head, looking at Bakugo behind him who just arrived and was to take his seat.

"Man, take pity for the weak girl." Kaminari joined.

Bakugo silently sat. "What part of her was weak?" He said tone pissed like his usual but it was more calm and sincere. He crossed arms and kept quiet, not in the mood to make a fuss.

Midoriya and Iida walked out to see Uraraka.

#: "Next match coming up...!!" Present Mic cued.

Hinata stood up.

"Go for it, Hinata!!" Mina yelled.

Beyond the cement wall of the two classes, class 1B also cheered their classmate, Shiozaki, especially their competitive Monoma.

Hinata walked on, but before she fully left, she halted when she reached Bakugo's seat, stared down at him. Bakugo stayed conserved, he faced still, looked straight at his front, didn't bother to meet Hinata's eyes.

The tension between them troubled the atmosphere in class 1A.

"Hinata must be upset for how Bakugo harassed Uraraka, kero," Asui whispered. All thought similarly as she said. The students were anxious as dense air emitted from the two choked them.

"Once Hinata finishes this round, they're bound to fight! It'll be chaos!!" Mineta shrieked lowly, cowered distressed, his fingers grasping on his grapes. Kaminari did too in sync with him, scared to witness two of their strong classmates in a clash.

"I'm... grateful," Hinata frankly spoke.

Unexpected, the unrest amongst the others twisted bemused.

"Thank you... for not disrespecting Uraraka's resolve." With that, she went on.

They all sighed in relief.

Todoroki sat stoically by the corner as he gazed beneath, Hinata, stepping to the battleground in the center, but the flames of Endeavor just beside the audiences' seats diverted him.

A cold hostile aura radiated from Todoroki. His ice unintentionally frosted his arm, his rage worsened, recalling the brief chat he had with his father at the staircase moments ago. "I don't care, if ever I would come against Hinata next, I'm prepared..." he then remembered how he used flames on the brink of losing at the Cavalry battle, he frowned, frustrated. "It won't happen again!... I'll make sure of it!"

Deep breaths... Hinata walked in, facing Shiozaki.

Midnight stood beside between them, poised to signal the 'start'. "They're both gentle but strong... it'll be an interesting match." She said in her head, grinning, looking at the two girls.

"U-Uhm... before anything else..." Hinata spoke. "I'd like to apologize... about Bakugo's attitude during the Cavalry Battle, his actions wounded your classmate."

Shiozaki was baffled for a moment, but later sparkled a smile, vibed a friendly gleam like blooming imaginary flowers. "Thank you... I'll make sure to relay that to them." her hands held each other close to her bosom."Hope we can get along despite our class difference." She said. "Still, let's do our best today." she genuinely cheered.

"Of course!" Hinata replied softly, gestured back the happy glow.

"The saints of class 1A and 1B in a fight..." a chuckle escaped out of Midnight. "Is this the holy war?" She hardly covered her burst in laughter to herself, her tummy ached.

From far above, Present Mic too laughed uncontrollably to himself. "I bet Midnight's thinkin' 'bout the holy war haha." teardrops sprouted from his eyes.

Midnight shook her head, back to serious mode. "Alright, ready!!!" she yelled.

Both alerted. Hinata took stance.

"Start!"

"Where are you, Hanabi..." Shinsou at the corner within the audiences' seats, rested tired after roaming and failed to find Hanabi. On his phone, ringing a call, but had no answer for the billionth time. He rummages through the texts he sent, but not one reply had eased him.

"I promised Hanabi not to spoil her surprise...and I failed that simple request of hers..." He sighed in his mind, remembering his encounter with Hinata a while ago. "She should've seen how her sister recked the whole game to first place..." He waited on his phone. "Hinata's in a match now, she can't miss another..."

Hanabi finally picked up.

"Thank goodness."

"I thought you wanted to surprise your big sis...?" Shinsou immediately spoke, "Where are you anyway-"

#:*Thud!* *Crash!* "Get- off me-!!"

"Hanabi!? Hanabi-!" the call cut off.

Shinsou pressed call once more, and again, "What's going on...! Hanabi!"

***

"You messed with the wrong chick, jerk!" Hanabi spat, knocked the driver unconscious, and threw him in the taxi's trunk, banging it closed aggressively after she was attempted of raped. "Now I've wasted plenty of time on where in the world am I!?!?" she exclaimed.

A desolate area, nothing but plain road and green fields, and farther forward, tall trees populated the dull view.

"Men are so-! Urgh!" frustrated, Hanabi dented the car with her kick.

She looked at the long road back behind her. "I'm so far from where I started...! and the Sports Fest... Big sis..." Her shoulders hung down, "A long walk to go." Sighed, her face sagged. The experienced cozy ride on the vehicle made her legs feel lazy.

*Buzzz*...

A buzz from the car stopped her from walking on. She checked herself, with her phone missing, she suspects it's hers vibrating.

Hanabi opened the car's backseat door, seeing it lying on the foam. "Oh- Shinsou's calling." She lightened up with a smile, reaching for it. But halfway through to get it-

*CRASH!!!!*

Quickly stepped back. Hanabi almost tripped from a sudden force. Dispersed dust blinded her. Sharp slammed metal hit her ears,

Gained her balance back and arms guarded up. Her eyes flickered open, then widened. Gasped.

When the smoke cleared, a black car appeared against the taxi's previous position, tumbled it off the road on the ditch beside, buried in the plants.

"The driver!" She hastily ran to the taxi in thought of the guy she trapped in the trunk. She peered down, but only to witness the trunk busted open with the driver's head hanging. Dead eyes stared back at her.

Chills struck her.

*Cough..* sounded from the other car. She turned to it.

A bleeding man sorely crawled on his chest out of the black car.

"Hold on!" She hurriedly went to rescue.

She bent low, gently wrapped her arms through, under the man's pits to carry him out safely, his neck dangled heavy on her shoulder, his chin on her back.

"Run away..." The man whispered hoarsely. His black eyes opened halfway, blank, seeming close to a corpse.

Hanabi paused frightened. "that night..." a memory; her heart clenched painfully.

"Save your strength..." Hanabi looked away with gloomed eyes, her voice shaking

She pulled him out and carefully laid him on the ground on his back. The man's eyes closed, barely awake, his breathing weighed deep and heavy, blood coughed out of him.

"Hold on, alright? Survive." Hanabi uttered, delicately unbuttoned his top to analyze the wound on his chest as litters of blood seeped out, a pool of it drenched her knees. "This wound..." Taken aback, "This is a beast's claws..." She thought. The only injury he got from the car crash was just a dash on his temple. Other than those, he also had severe burns all over.

Greenlight glowed from her hands, performing the healing Jutsu

"Naomasa Tsukauchi..." Hanabi read, gazed at the man's pinned ID on his clothes.

*Drip-Drop* Something soddened Hanabi's foot. Gasoline leaked, the liquid flowed, She looked at it but-

"Run... run...get away..." The detective woke up, spoke in vague desperately.

"H-How are you feeling!?" Hanabi exclaimed, relieved. She averted from the danger that awaits, the gasoline.

Naomasa's eyes opened narrow in pain, flinched. His vision blurred, he struggled, staring at Hanabi, "....Hyuuga?..." he uttered faintly; the same blank blind-looking eyes gave him the hint but mistook it as someone else familiar. "Hinata... Hyuuga...?"

Hanabi fazed.

*Spark*

*BOOM!!!!!!*

Smog fumed into the sky.

And at the same time as the car exploded... it overlapped a cry from a young boy, agonizing in torment from the distant forest.

The boy crouched down on the grass. His yellow hair spiked, red eyes -- slit, a bubblish translucent red chakra shrouded his body, it corroded his flesh bit by bit. Three tails manifested.

The longer he stayed in this world of quirks, losing chakra like the rest of his kind from the Leaf... the beat's seal on Naruto's belly weakens.

Destruction emerging.
