(Shuichi POV)

I'm a king to a small land in the middle of no where. Everyone here has a special power. I have the power of shooting contradictions and I always attend the tournament, it was quite enjoyable. I was waiting for the next to being drawn for the tournament, "Next we have... Ryoma Hoshi and the king himself Shuichi Saihara! That's all for today folk!" The T.V spokesman said, I have to prepared for it, I went out and went to the training place.

I found Ryoma there, he was short, he had a beanie with two small cat ears on, "What do you want kid? Leave me alone." He said, "You know we're going to fight in a week right? We need to level up our abilities in order to survive." I said, "Tch.. You think I don't know that? I was released from prison for this." He said, "Okay.. um..." I stumbled, "Just go and get your hopes up kid, I don't plan on winning." He said what?

What does he mean by that, "Hello Shumai~" Kokichi said, "Huh? Oh hello Kokichi, how are you doing?" I asked "I'm good my beloved Shumai! Well anyways bye bye now!" He said then ran off, I sighed "Anyways I gotta go, you could do whatever. I don't care." Ryoma said, he then left the training center, I trained my special abilities, I've always ran into Ryoma, and we chated a bit, I found out why Ryoma was in prison, poor guy. I think I've been catching feelings for him, I don't want to hurt him any further if he wins.

(The day before the tournament)

(Still his POV)

I was chatting with Ryoma, he's very nice once you get to know him, "How are we going to pull off missing the tournament?" I asked him, "I don't know, should we run away from here and go somewhere far away?" He suggested, "Probably, but we need disguises because they'll come for us if I go missing." I said, "Oh mhm..." He said in thought, "We should probably do the tournament and I keep you at my palace because all that really happens in a tournament is that the loser is exiled from here, and the winner is given a reward." I said, "Oh so that's why I never saw the people that lost again." He said, "Mh.. well tomorrow is the tournament, and I know a secret place in there." I said, we both talked about the plan and we both agreed on one.

(Kokichi POV)

After I heard what Shumai discuss, nihehe.. ah young love, well Imma help my beloved Shumai. I went over "Hello beloved Shumai~! It is a better plan you need to escape!" I said, "Wha... you heard?" My beloved Shumai say, "Yup even tho I love you, I'll help you." I said, as long as his happy, I'm happy. I gave them a plan, I'll cause an explosion and they'll use that as a distraction and they'll both leave from the secret exit and they'll both run back to Shumai's palace.

(Timeskipy to the next day)

(Shuichi POV)

I was standing inside the tournament, and Ryoma was standing in front of me, Kokichi's explo- then it happened but Ryoma was caught in the cross fire, and he was severely hurt, I rushed over to him, I held him close to me, I looked the crowd and I saw Kokichi in shocked, I don't think he planned that to happen, the tournament was immediately stopped, and called off for us.

We took him to my palace and he was immediately treated there, "Your majesty, he's in serious condition, and we had to place him in a medical coma, and there's a low chance he'll fully recovered from his injuries." The doctor said,  "Oh.. okay. Could I go in the there and go see him?" I asked, "Yes you could." She said, I entered the room and his hat was next to him, he was hooked up to the machines.

His heartbeat is normal, and he looks fine, I went up and I held his hand "Hey Ryoma, I hope you wake up soon." I said, I started to cry, I had to leave so the doctors could care for him, I went back to my room that was close by, I fell asleep worried about him.

(A year later)

(Still his POV)

Ryoma still hasn't woken up yet but he's much better than a year ago, the doctors told me that he'll wake up soon. They said about a month or so or possibly sooner since how fast he's recovering, I was sitting next to him on the chair, holding his hand, "Nrghh.. Shuichi... I love you.." I heard Ryoma say, "I love you too. Doctor! Come quick! I think he's waking up!" I yelled for her.

She immediately came in and I was told to go out, after a half an hour, I could go in, I saw Ryoma awake, he was smiling weakly at me "Hehe.. You really did worry about me kid. But I'll be fine now, just thanks for worrying about me." He said, "And about what you said earlier, did you really mean it?" He asked, "Yes I do, I'm really in love with you. You're very kind and I'll do everything in my power for keeping you out of prison." I said, "Your majesty.. I think they'll just listen to you since you're the king." The doctor said, well she is correct.

So yeah.. I'll do that "Oh yeah right, I'll just tell them to not send you back." I said, "Thank you kid. But how long was I out?" He asked, "About a year, and it's a day before your birthday(Ryoma's birthday is July 1)." I said, "Oh.. you remembered my birthday? That's... Thank you kid." He said, "Yeah, I'll bring you a cake and a few presents tomorrow since you have to be in here for a little bit because the doctors have to run some tests on you." I said, "Oh, we need to run a test now, please leave your majesty, I'll call you back once you can go in." She said, "Thank you." I said, I exited out the room.

(Ryoma POV)

Once Shuichi keft, "Alrighty then Ryoma, I need to run some tests on your body and then I need to change your bandages." She said, "Okay then.." I said, she brought some needles and other medical stuff, she injected medicine into me. , "It's pain killers, I would need to treat your wounds." She said, she took off the bandages and placed cream on it so it'll heal more faster.

After thirty minutes she placed new bandages on, then she told Shuichi he could come in, she then left the room "So.. are we a 'thing' now?" He asked, "I guess, we both love each other." I said, he held my hand and smiled, I did the same thing as him.
