Him
I hadn't known it was the weekend until I reached the vacant school building. The coldness came to me as a surprise, for it was a long time since I'd been outside. I used to love playing outside though I've been inside for the past two weeks, unable to recall what happened on That Night. I slowly opened the unlocked gate and walked towards the courtyard, the cold breeze blowing through my hair. As I walked alongside the wall of the high school, I paused briefly to stare at what lie on the ground in front of me. There was a girl on the ground leaned against the cold bricks of the building. As I walked even closer to her, she coughed up some blood. I kneeled down and smiled at her sinisterly. "What do we have here?" I asked, resting my elbows on my knees. Her face was pale and her beautiful brown eyes matched the color of her short hair. She looked up at me sadly and muttered, "D-Did you come here to laugh at me?" I looked around before backhanding her, giving me satisfaction as she winced. "You left without leaving a note or even saying goodbye," I said in defense of my actions. "I think that whoever did this to you may've had a good reason." She spit blood onto my cheek and smirked. "I just needed some time to think about us. About you..." The girl had tears running down her cheeks, rivers of sorrow and pain. I pulled out a cigar and lighter, the smiles no longer on my face. I lit the cigar and puffed smoke into her face, causing her to cough harshly as she lie there hurt. Heartbroken. I tried thinking of what happened the night, but the only image that could form was me throwing up, day after day. The apin I felt when everything happened...All because of Them. "Like I said before, my problems aren't yours." I stood up, putting the lighter away and held a hand out, a frown crossing my face. "But if it helps we can discuss this soon." I heard her gasp in surprise as she took my hand, her cold fingers giving me chills. Her skirt was torn and her face was covered with bruises. The girl stood slowly and let go of my hand. I could see that she was dizzy, trying to keep her balance. "I'll never stop trying to help you," she whispered with her eyes on the ground, choking on tears as she fell into my chest. "Never. That's my promise"
