"You have being smiling like an idiot for thirty minutes now"Jamie said frowning "I didn't call you here to start acting weird"

"Who?"Jamie asked while his eyes were focused on the file he was working on

"Nene"David said and Jamie stopped what he was doing looking at David "She came for the job interview, we went out to have coffee too and she's still cool like back then"Jamie snorted

"Pretender!"Jamie muttered but David heard him

"Have you ever talked to her about what happened?"David asked

"What's there to talk about?"Jamie asked snorting again

"You just don't make conclusions Jamie, what if you were wrong all this time and it was you that actually hurt her not the other way round"David said and Jamie hit his hand on his desk

"I saw them! I saw them with my own two eyes, stop trying to cover up for her. You have done that enough for her when we were much younger!"Jamie said face palming,he ran his hand across his face sighing frustratedly

"You haven't moved on Jamie"David said shaking his head

"What do you mean?"Jamie asked frowning

"Why do you need her in this company, why won't you let her work in the human resources department like she offered instead of you begging me to make her your personal assistance!"David asked and Jamie's shoulder sagged

"I don't know!"Jamie said questioning his own behaviour. He remembered how he begged David on the phone to make Nene to be his personal assistance, he just have the urge to have her around

"And don't forget Zully too. You know she's an ugly bitch when she's jealous. I still don't get it how you can go ahead dating your ex best friend"David said standing up

"Are you offering her the job?"Jamie asked ignoring David's last statement

"Do I have a choice. Mr CEO?"David said and chuckled "Nene is my friend,that I still believe. At least we all can't turn against her, I still believe she's innocent"David said before walking away

Jamie rested his head on his desk his mind taking him to when he was quite younger

"Give me that!"Jamie says and Nene chuckles

"No! Come get it"Nene said bursting into a full grown laughter

"I'm going to kiss you if I get that from you"Jamie said smiling

"Try if you can"Nene challenged and started running. Jamie ran after her, with his long legs he easily caught her and they fell on the green grass. Jamie held Nene's hands above her head and bent down kissing her senselessly

"Happy eighteenth birthday"Jamie murmured and Nene wriggle her hands free bending Jamie for more kisses

"Now and forever"Nene said after breaking the kiss

"Now and forever!"Jamie said and started tickling Nene who started laughing controllable

"Arghhhhhhh!"Jamie groan "she's a manipulator! A bitch! A pretender! You shouldn't think of her"he said trying to give himself a pep talk

"What's wrong with you?"Jamie suddenly heard Zully's voice

"I'm fine"Jamie said and Zully gave him a questioning look "come here"he says and Zully did as she was told, Jamie kissed her and she smiled wrapping her hands around Jamie

"I'm fine"Jamie says

"If only you can be sweet like this all the time"Zully says

"I will try"Jamie said and Zully's face widen with smile. Jamie hug her and she placed her head on his chest, Jamie heaved feeling like he need no one else apart from Zully,she had been there for her, she made her to forget Nene even though he is harsh at her she still always around and he have to be grateful to her than thinking about a pretender.

Nene was busy washing the plates when her phone started ringing, she met it was her a younger brother Taib

"Salam Aleikum"Taib greeted

"Waleikum salam Taib! What's up with you?"Nene said obviously sounding like she wants to talk with her brother

"I'm fine,I just felt like greeting you"Taib said and Nene chuckled

"Is mom there?"Nene asked

"No I'm alone and uhm sister, check your WhatsApp messenges. I drop something there for you to see"Taib says

"What's it?"Nene asked

"Just go and check it!"Taib said ending the call. Nene smiled shaking her head, she turn on her data connection and messages from her social media accounts started showing on the notification board. She was about to press the WhatsApp app on her phone when an email message caught her attention. She disregarded all she wanted to do and checked the email.

She read it quietly and shouted jumping up and down!

"Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! I have just been offered a job"she shouted and started dancing. She dialled her mom's contact immediately

"Mummy!"she shouted as soon as her mother took her call

"What's it Nene?"Her mother asked sounding worried

"I have just been offered a job mom! Ya Allah. I can't contain my happiness!"she told her mom

"Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah alhamdulillah! Masha Allah! I'm so happy for you my dear, may almighty Allah bless this work for you"Nene's mom said

"Amin! Amin! Amin! Thank you so much mom"Nene said

"And be a good girl"her mom said before ending the call. She started dancing from the kitchen to the sitting room,she turn around and took her phone reading the email message again, then her eyes fell on what she fail noticing the first time

"Been offered a job as the personal assistance of the CEO"Nene read out and got confused. She didn't apply for that, she wanted to work in the human resources department of the company but who is she to question what she was offered at least it's better than nothing

"Wow! Congratulations!"Chidi said and went over to hug Nene

"This is wonderful Kaffy!"Mercy said clapping her hands together

"I knew it! I knew this one won't pass you by"Aina said

"Seriously! I was already start thinking about how I'm going to pay my rent, you know the rent is expiring soon and I know my mom is not going to help me out this time around, this came at the right time"Nene said

"I swear! This is so amazing. We got to party"Mercy said

"Of course! We are going to the club!"Aina said

"You know I'm not the clubbing type"Nene said dismissing the idea

"Just this once Nene! No drinking I promise you"Aina said and Nene smiled

"Okay girls! We are going to club and also I need to go for shopping too, I need new clothes that fits a working class lady"Nene said the last part winking at her friends and they all chuckled.

"Are you serious?!"Yasmin said over the phone,Nene can feel his suprise

"Yes! All thanks to you and Allah!"Nene said smiling

"Get ready we are going out tonight, my dinner"Yasmin said and Nene bursted into laughter

"Yasmin! Give me a breathing space"Nene said still laughing

"Are you gamed or not?"Yasmin asked

"I am"Nene said biting her lips unconsciously

"Dress sexy!"Yasmin said ending the call, Nene wanted to yell at him but the call already ended

"Pervert!"Nene muttered standing up.

She went to take a quick shower going through her wardrobe, her eyes landed on a multicoloured jumpsuit, she smile pulling it out with a white shiffon kimono, she smiled remembering how the Jumpsuit always highlight her shape

"Something sexy huh! You got it"Nene muttered changing into it. She tied a beautiful white veil on it, wearing a white stiletto heel.

"I look beautiful!"she said to herself after looking at herself in the mirror, she applied little make up to highlight her facial features, she giggled thinking about the way she dressed up like someone going out on a date.

"Where to?"Aina asked yawning as she step into the room

"Going out with Yasmin for dinner"Nene said and Aina nodded. Nene called Yasmin stepping out of the house

"Give me two minutes!"Yasmin said ending the call. In two minutes time like promised Yasmin came in a beautiful car

"This is not yours"Nene said laughing

"I borrowed it"Yasmin said shining his teeth "we are going to a big place and we can't be taking a cab there"Yasmin said and Nene's eyes went through his dress. Yasmin was wearing a black ripped jeans on a blue top, he look so sexy and Nene felt underdressed with the way he look when with his casual dress

"Oh my God! Don't make me fall in love!"Yasmin suddenly said and Nene got confused "the dress, it look so good on you Nene, I'm crushing"Yasmin added and Nene chuckled stepping forward. Yasmin drew her closer kissing her cheek

"What the!"Nene said her eyes going wide

"I can't stop myself, you look too beautiful tonight"Yasmin said and Nene chuckled rolling her eyes

"Pervert!"she muttered before entering the car. Yasmin entered too playing Drake song named Tosie_slide

"I love this song!"Nene said to Yasmin over the loud the music

"Enjoy yourself!"Yasmin said and Nene chuckled.

The car suddenly slowed down and they came out of the car

"This place is beautiful!"Nene said looking around

"Uhuh! You should be ready to loose some thousands!"Yasmin said and Nene hit him playfully

"I can't believe I'm about spending all my savings in one night"Nene said dramatically

"You won't regret it"Yasmin said winking and Nene chuckled and started walking inside the building, Yasmin came over to her side immediately wrapping his hand around her waist

"Stop it! It will look like we are out on a date"Nene whispered

"Don't we look good together?"Yasmin asked and Nene chuckled

"In your dreams!"Nene said and Yasmin hold on Nene tightened kissing her cheek then her earlobe

"Ya Allah!"Nene said releasing herself from his hold immediately and started laughing taking a step forward carelessly when she mistakenly landed on someone, her head hitting a solid chest.

"I'm so sorry!" She quickly rushed out taking a step back. Her breathe caught up in her throat when her eyes landed on who she just fell on

"Jamie!"she muttered unable to move. The last time her eyes landed on him was six years ago and did he change? Jamie look more manly over the years and much more handsome, he look taller than before too

Jamie look at Nene shocked, she was the last person he expect to see in a place like this,he look at her from head to toe, the dress she was wearing highlighted the shape she didn't have the time they were together,did she look more beautiful? Nene look more beautiful and womanly over the years, his eyes trained from Nene landing on a figure behind them. It doesn't take a sooth sayer to tell Jamie that she came with him

"Jamie!"Nene called out this time around

"I can see you will never change"Jamie said looking at the man and Nene

"What's wrong?"Yasmin asked wrapping his hand around Nene, she look like she will pass out at any moment. Did that angered Jamie? Jamie became furious seeing his hands wrapped around Nene

"Excuse me!"he said and walked away. Nene bursted into tears immediately

"What's wrong?"Yasmin asked looking confused

"Take me home"Nene said in between sobs "I don't want to be here anymore take me home!"
