*Tulip's POV*

Rain battered and pounded the drenched window that lay irritable beside my bed, as if the ghost of Great Great Great Great Great Great (insert more greats here) Grandma Wendy from 1456 was banging on it to request a free tutorial on how to bake bread.

That's how she died, I remembered with a jolt, as I gazed out at the cloudy, dark night sky revolving around the atmosphere. She shoved herself into an oven after she saw it on Tik Tok, encouraged by my Great Great Great Great Great Great Great (insert many more greats here) Aunt Florence from 1462. Lottie from 1447, a necromancer, couldn't save her.  Nor could Sharon from 1453, as she forgot her hearing-aids and couldn't hear Wendy's screams and shrieks of agony.

The stars hid behind the thick clouds in terror outside, occasionally peeking out to me watch glaring up at them, and then taking refuge in the shadows once more. A dark abyss was most of what I could see, pressing itself against the glass like dark ink flowing from a pen and embedding itself onto the thick sheet of paper. The abyss was lonely, a flood filling up my room as the seconds ticked past, as the stars shifted slowly across the sky. My phone suddenly buzzed casually, interrupting the serenely ominous silence, along with rousing Peppermint and Muffin, my two ADORABLE puppies. As I took my vibrating phone out from under my pillow, the two fluffy pomeranians came bounding into the room, yapping enthusiastically as they settled down into my soft bed.

"Shhh, you'll wake up mum," I whispered to them gently, and the nodded as if they knew what I was saying.

I held my phone in front of me, rubbing my drowsy eyes to see the screen better.

I was about to reply... but my battery died.

"NOOOO!" I yelped, startling Peppermint and Muffin slightly. I felt bummed.

"Tulip! What did I tell you about staying up at night?!" Footsteps echoed around the hallway beyond my bedroom door.
