Chapter 141: Faction War Begins!

Enjoy the latest chapter, everyone! ^.^

"This is madness!" a middle-aged looking man hollers, his red slit eyes glaring toward at all the of guards surrounding him. His sleek and now wet silver hair cover half his ranging expressive face. The man's arms and legs are chained to the ground as he is seated there on his knees. An unimaginable sight for the Forth King of Tepes to be displaying. The men that once ruled under him now surrounded him and locked him in pure silver chains that utterly restrict his power.

"Madness?" a door push open in the office room and emerging from the darkness is Marius with an ear to ear grin split on his face. "Marius?" the King utters, shocked to see his son here. "Hello, Father," Marius stops a few feet away from the man, relishing at sight before him. The guards start bowing one by one toward Marius, showing their loyalty has shifted to the younger Tepes.

The Father is left stun at the sight while Marius's grin widens in satisfaction and joy. "I'll be taking command from here on out, Father" Marius state, spreading his arms to the side "Our generals and captain along with their men disagree with your ideas of peace with Carmilla" "Marius," the older man spat in rage "You have no idea what you are doing here. I am looking at the bigger picture!" "What is the bigger picture?" "Our race! Our number is stretched too thin!

This war will only bring casualty to the vampires! Meaningless deaths!" "We can reproduce," Marius replies, "We don't have enough female in our faction!" the Father retorts loudly, enrage by his son's casual tone on the matter "Killing Carmilla, and its people could put to the extinction of our race!"

Marius doesn't look rattled by his Father words and instead grabs a sword from one of the soldiers and pull it out of its sheath. "Always overdramatic with things, Father" Marius comments, swinging the sword around in rapid speed before pointing it forward to the man that raised him "That's your problem, you overthink, and instead of just taking action, you waste time on second-guessing." "And the problem with you is that you don't look at the bigger picture, boy" the King of Tepes spat, showing his level of anger by calling his son in a simple term.

Marius smirk darkly "Such primitive thing to worry. If we don't have enough women, then we'll just take some of Carmilla's woman. They are a strong women faction! So, there's plenty to spare!" "You've changed..." the Father speaks, looking ashamed "You've changed ever since that obsession you hold for that Pureblood! It has taken over you!" "It has not," Marius disagrees and takes steps forward to hold the tip of the blade just inches from his Father's face.

"I have grown tired of your spineless ways," Marius sneers "I'm going to take actions. Actions that you are afraid to take which will help Tepes. First, I will find Valerie and steal the Holy Grail for myself! With its power, I will ascend to a level above anyone else in Vamhaven! And then I will crush Carmilla to ashes!" Marius lets out a maniacally laughs which echoes around the room. His Father watch on in horror, witnessing how mad his son has become.

Marius's laughter suddenly comes to a halt, and his crazy eyes snap down to his Father, then the sword slashes to the right, beheading the man that raised him. The head of the King of Tepes splatter to the ground, rolling to the side while the body crumbles forward, blood gushing from the neck and paint the gray carpet. Marius drops the sword, and swiftly turns around "Burn the body to ashes" he orders, and the guards all bow their heads before carrying out the task. Marius stops and glances back "Also, don't forget to get rid of my brother. His corpses are laid in his room" he informs and lets out a sinister chuckle before resuming to the door.

Marius opens his eyes to find himself sited at his office, leaving the world of slumber. "Huh," he smirks in joyful, showing no signs of regret on killing his Father. Shifting his eyes to the right, it shows a picture laid on the desk, a photo taken from one of his spies. The photo is the very first thing that has him laid his eyes on Sayomi Dracul. The pictures that made him become madly in love with the woman and has given him strength and motivation to become what he is today. The photos show Sayomi standing in a park located at the center of Kuoh. Her eyes stare forward at the fountain with a sign of sadness in them. With how strong the emotions show in those beautiful eyes and her expression soften, it is indeed an exquisite sight of the Pureblood.

This photo is the first clue for Marius. The evidence of Sayomi's attachment toward Nawin Makasha. She's been there ever since the beginning. She has watched him ever since he turned into a Devil by the Gremory. Marius has done many researched and studied, but he has found nothing to help him win against Sayomi. She is virtually invincible, she is a being that ascends even past Pureblood-Vampire. The Dracul's blood coursing through her veins has made her become something more significant, just like her Father. It would take a godlike being such as Ophis or Trihexa to be able to defeat her.

Marius wanted to find an easier alternative to make Sayomi his, but that has proved fruitless. The only thing... Ne, the only person in this world that will have Sayomi Dracul drop to her knees is Nawin Makasha. He is the key for Marius to have Sayomi in his grasps, and he will stop at nothing to achieve that. Marius is still oblivious to this incredibly secretive relationship between Nawin and Sayomi. Something he is sure the latter did her hardest to keep it shut. To no doubt protect the boy. This relationship annoys Marius, but it will give him all the more pleasure when finally ridding the Makasha with his own two hands.

The two large doors in the office push open and emerging from the shadows is Cadell, wearing a very pleased expression on his face. "Lord Marius," he speaks "All of our forces have gathered in from of Tepes." Marius glance back at the window and see the sun rising from the horizon "Perfect," he turns to the Captain and grin "Lead me to them," "Of course."

Carmilla Castle

Leaving the showers, Nawin emerges in the hallway with his battle attire minus the jacket. Drying his hair with a towel, he heads to his and Akeno's room. "Hmm," Nawin suddenly stops and glance at the door on the right, the door that leads to Valerie's room. Sensing that Gasper is still there, Nawin's eyes narrow and he pulls the towel around his neck before grabbing the handle to push the door open.

Nawin's eyes soften by the display in front of him. Gasper sited on the chair with half of his upper body laid on the bed, next to Valerie while both of his hands held onto her right hand. Indeed, he wanted to stay with her, terrified that she would once again be in Marius's clutches.

Closing the door gently, Nawin grabs the other chair in the room and head to the Dhampir. Placing the chair on the right, Nawin seats beside Gasper and release a soft sigh, still feeling tired from the lack of sleep he received. Nawin gently places his hand on Gasper's shoulder and give it a soft squeeze. An action that causes a stir from the young boy before his eyes slowly open, a cute yawn escape his mouth. Nawin retracts his arm and watches Gasper slowly sits up, rubbing his eyes.

Fully awake, Gasper turns to see the Makasha. "Nawin-san?" he whispers, blinking in surprise "Gasper," Nawin replies, wearing a soft smile "How are you feeling?" "... Fine," he answers weakly, and his eyes immediately avert back to Valerie, his hands still holding onto hers.

Nawin shifts his gaze to the slumbering Dhampir. "Gasper," he speaks "I know you are worried. The others don't want to say this to you, but you need to step up... Now." Gasper's eyes widen, the solemn emotion slowly vanishing and replaced with shock. Nawin's tone hardens but his gaze still soft "Valerie isn't getting better... From what I heard from the Queen and her medic, she isn't going to improve until we get all the Sephiroth Graal back in her."

"... I know," Gasper whispers "Then why are you here?" Nawin question "Why are you here feeling helpless? Instead of being out there with the rest of us. Preparing for the war and being useful. Do you honestly think huddling yourself in here beside Valerie will make her better? Instead of being out there, with us to take back the Grails."

Tears well around Gasper's eyes, light sniff emits from his nose. "I-I'm afraid of losing her a-again" he whispers "I know..." Nawin replies, his eyes soften, a sense of relatability shines in them "I know that feeling really well, Gasper. But, acting like this won't improve it. Stand up on your own two feet and walk forward to help the person you want to save, instead of stopping and sitting there... Feeling sorry for yourself."

Nawin wraps his arms around the Vladi's shoulder and pulls him into his chest. Allowing the boy to cry on him. Gently stroking Gasper's hair, Nawin opens his mouth "Unlike me... It is not too late for you to save Valerie, Gasper." After a minute of crying, Gasper slowly nods "A-alright," he whispers and pulls back to look at the Makasha "I'll be there, with everyone" he says with a soft smile. Nawin nod, wearing his own smile "Good... Take your time and say goodbye to her. When you are back here, you'll have both Grails with you... That I promise you, Gasper" "I-I'll help you get them!" Gasper exclaims which have Nawin chuckle "Sounds great."

Nawin shuts the door gently on his way out, leaving Gasper alone with Valerie to say his goodbye. He begins walking down the hall at a moderate pace. Now that he helped Gasper, Nawin's mind starts shifting back to the event that happened yesterday. The event that he and Sayomi shared. An image of him kissing Sayomi resurface and just remembering it cause Nawin's heart rate to skip a beat. Even though it should have felt wrong, it somehow felt entirely opposite of the fact. All the rare times that they've exchanged kissed, none of them were ever something Nawin could bring himself to hate it, and he knows that Sayomi felt the same way on the matter.

Even though he already knew this. After witnessing the latest memory of his pasts, Nawin knows that Sayomi is a person that was vital to his early life. She's someone that's been there for him and even protected him.

Nawin stops when remembering his lasts words with Sayomi before they departed. He told her his darkest secret, his most painful experience of his life. A secret that only a few people knew. He told her that, and it is something he didn't find himself to regret. Honestly, to him, it almost felt right to have told her.

"Nawin-kun," an unmistakable melodic voice calls from behind and have the Makasha turn around to see Akeno standing there, already done showering. She is dressed in a wine color short-sleeves shirt, long gray jeans with a black belt strap around to keep it in place. Of course, she always keeps the bracelet on, firmly wrap around her right wrist and then there's the bright yellow necklace of the Lighting Gemstone. To finish it off she wears durable black combat boots that are fitting for the incoming battle.

Nawin wears a soft smile "You are looking beautiful," he compliments which brings a smile to the Himejima's face as she stops in front of him. "Thanks, love" Akeno leans in to give Nawin a loving kiss on the lip for a moment. A feeling of regret crosses the Makasha's mind because instead of his last kiss being from the girl in front of him, his lover, it was from an entirely different girl who has also caught his attention in many ways. But, pushing the thought back, Nawin happily accepts the affectionate gesture, returning the kiss before the two pull back, smiling at each other.

"Can we talk?" Akeno asks, grasping the Makasha's right hand "Of course," he replies, and the two begin walking down the hallway. It didn't take long for the couple to reach their destination, which is the large balcony hold on the right end of the castle. Considering it is still early in the morning, no one is occupying the location.

Akeno rests her arms at the solid marble surface while she stares toward the horizon at the rising sun. Nawin stood a by the side, glancing at his beloved, quickly noticing that something is clouding her mind, bothering her. He takes a step forward to also rest on the marble surface, next to the Himejima.

"... What's wrong, Akeno?" Nawin asks, his tone soft "You didn't tell us where you were, Nawin-kun" she replies in a soothing but also solemn tone, which did not go past the Makasha "You didn't tell us yesterday since you immediately collapsed to bed afterward." It is clear that the Himejima was worried for him and it bugs her at being kept in the dark about his whereabouts. Especially when returning, Nawin still wore some faint wounds he received in the Ashen forest by the specters.

Nawin always finds it heartwarming to see the Himejima cares so much for him and it pains him for what he is about to say next. "When I teleported you away... Marius used his telekinetic ability to burn a hole through my shoulder. Before he could have finished me off, I had one of my sword pierced through his chest, and in a fit of raged, he threw me toward the far west. Where I crashland in a place called the Ashen Forest."

"Ashen Forest?" Akeno repeats "Yeah, it is a misty forest where spirits roam around. A dangerous place." "But with your high mana, I'm sure you sacred most of them away, right?" Akeno asks. "Yeah..." Nawin utters, his tone wavers slightly at lying to the Himejima. Right now, Nawin knows telling Akeno about Sayomi will just cause trouble. Plus, even he, himself can't answer what's really between him and the Pureblood, so informing the Himejima now, when he is still uncertain of the situation will just bring more problem than good.

Nawin proceeds to tell his journey through the Ashen Forest. On how he encountered the large group of specters and the gargoyles. All the while leaving Sayomi utterly absent of the story, making it believed that he was only there until Akame found him in the end.

Akeno smile when done hearing the story. "I see. I'm glad you were able to make through it, Nawin-kun" she says, turning her head to face him "Ahaha, it's going to take more than specters to kill me, Akeno" he replies, looking at her, both smiling. But, Akeno's smile slowly wanes, and her head returns forward, looking at the sun "There's... One more thing I want to ask... If you don't mind?" "Of course," "Nawin-kun, what's your relationship with Sayomi?"

The Makasha's eyes widen ever slightly and his body tense for a second. He looks at the horizon and exhales, calming himself. "... What has brought this up, Akeno?" "I mean, there are obvious points," she says with a weak smile.

"Before coming here. When all us decided to have dinner in Brasov that night. Nawin-kun, I can't help but noticed when Rias and Issei were asking for your help on the menu, you were so casual on telling them to ask Sayomi for assistance. And," Akeno grasps both her hands, holding it firmly "I've also noticed, compared to the rest of us, you and Sayomi almost had this air of friendliness between the two of you. Then there's that joke you two shared about Mici in Issei's expense. You two..." Akeno's hands shake a bit "Almost looked like friends."

The morning cold breeze blow passes the couple, lifting their hairs to the side. Nawin slowly opens his mouth "Akeno, I had to come off like that to keep you and the rest safe. You know how dangerous Sayomi is. Angering her will only bring chaos" "But why you," Akeno asks, her voice tense "Why does she have this infatuation with you? Why is it always you, Nawin-kun, she's targeting!"

Nawin brings his arm around the Himejima's shoulder to pull her in for a hug. Her face buries on his chest while her arms around his waist, holding tightly. "I don't know," Nawin says in honest "I really don't know, but I know that I was the only one out of everyone to keep her calm. That's why I had to be friendly to her, Akeno" "I know."

Pulling back, Akeno looks up "So there's nothing between you two?" she asks, and Nawin gives a soft smile "No, there's nothing between us" he utters. Akeno smile in relief and brings her head to his chest, hugging him affectionately. Nawin rests his chin on the Himejima's head and gently rubs her back while staring into the distance with stoic eyes.

Time Skip

After done having breakfast, the group gathered in the meeting room to discuss the plan for the upcoming war. They have been informed that the Queen has received a letter from none other than Marius earlier in the morning that declared they will be war and any chance of peace is impossible. The time for war has befallen in Vamhaven, and both Factions are ready to go to battle. One to end it quickly to restore peace while the other to cause nothing but havoc and deaths.

"... He is unquestionably making it clear of his intentions" Rias utters when done reading through the letter. Set beside her is Issei who had his head leaned close to read it as well. His expression turn grimace by what he sees "Ripping your head and burning your corpse... This guy is a maniac!" "He has always been an unstable individual" the Queen informs, sited in front of the table while wearing an expression of exhaustion. Clearly, the approaching war is stressing the woman.

Elmenhilde and Captain Stan are also present in the room, both look extremely angered by the letter received from the Tepes. "Well," Stan turns to his Queen, "I think it is clear by now what Marius wants, your Majesty" "Yes," the Queen opens her eyes, and it clarifies "It is obvious. I was a fool to believe I'll be able to convince Marius as I did with his Father. It is clear Marius has utterly become an obsessive and dangerous adversary that won't listen to words. If he wants war, then we'll give him a war."

Everyone at the table nod in agreement by the woman's words. Rias place the letter on the table and grasps her hands together. "Now that we go eve-" Rias is interrupted when the doors open and in walk Gasper, looking slightly nervous as he usually does, but there is a fire in those red eyes. Everyone in the group along with the Queen smile when seeing the young Dhampir out of Valerie's room. "Glad that you could make it, Gasper," Rias says with a warm smile "T-thank you, Buchou" he replies with a small bow before making way to Koneko and takes a seat beside her. "Welcome back," the Rook replies petting her dear friend on the head. Gasper smile at her before turning his head forward to look at Nawin, who greets him with a warm smile and a nod, a gesture he returns.

Rias a cough to regain everyone attention and open her mouth "As I was about to say. Now that we have Nawin-kun and Gasper back, it is a good time to begin planning our strategy for the upcoming battle." "I agree," Stan replies, and a map is summoned on his right hand, the same map as before but in a larger size for everyone to see clearly. He throws it forward, and the map opens and gently laid on the table to show the borders between the factions, where the war will take place.

"You haven't already discussed the plan?" Nawin asks with a raised eyebrow, thinking that everything is set by now. "Rias thought it'll be best for you to be present for this, Nawin" the Queen replies with a smile "You'll be playing a big part for this war" "That so," Nawin turns to the Gremory "Mind elaborating, Rias?" "Of course." Rias's expression has turned completely serious like before, taking full command of her group as a true King.

"Yesterday I came up with a plan to help the Carmilla's army minimize casualty while bringing higher success rate to victory" Rias starts, and Nawin listen very closely on along with the rest "The best way to have this plan be a success is with you, Nawin-kun. What I want for you to do when the war begins is to go hunt down all the Captains that'll be leading with their battalions. If you can take out all the Captains in a timely matter, it'll surely cripple the enemy's moral and some will begin to retreat when seeing their leaders have been defeated" "The best way to get it done is for you to use that technique of yours" Stan inserts.

Nawin stare long at Rias before a smile crack on his face "Sounds great," he says, and a big smile breaks out of the Gremory's face while the rest sighs in relief, finding it hard at time to read the Makasha and the silence of unnerving. Nawin turns to Stan "Do you know how many Captains will be in the Tepes Military force?" "Forutenyl I do," Stan flicks his finger a number of papers appear in front of the Makasha "These are all the bios of the Captains. There is a total of Eight, not including their higher up officer."

"Higher up?" Akeno repeats, "Who is this person?" "That would be Cadell Hemfell" Stan answers, his expression darkens "He's an extremely dangerous adversary. Like me, he is the leader of the Military force in Tepes." Stan turns to Nawin "He is someone you should not be facing alone. Leave him as last since you'll no doubt need backup" "Wait," Akeno speaks, her voice risen to gain everyone's attention "We are relying too much on Nawin-kun here" she states, surprising all "He's not invincible. By the time Nawin-kun is done with those Captains, he'll be utterly out of mana and beyond exhausted... There's a plausible chance he'll reach that state before even finishing the other captains. And Marius is after him! He'll be in a vulnerable state during the war and could lead to his death if we aren't careful."

Everyone goes silent and can picture that scenario being the case. Rias looks at Akeno and sees worries in those violet eyes. She knows the facts the Himejima just put up isn't the whole story. Akeno is also worried that if Nawin does become too exhausted, it could risk the Draconic Mark taking control and that'll cause even a significant problem for them. Nawin being controlled by that vile mark can become a more dangerous adversary than Marius.

With that in mind, Rias nod and turns to the rest. "Alright, then we shouldn't have Nawin-kun take care of all the Captain" "Then let's split the task" Elmenhilde inserts and everyone turns to her for a deeper explanation. "Have Nawin take care of four. Then have a group of four picked individuals to deal with the other captains. Split the work, and when Nawin is done with the four captains, he'll have room to take a breather before rejoining in the battle" Elmenhilde explains.

The Queen smile at the idea "That sounds like an excellent alternative" "I agree," Rias nod then turns to Nawin "Is that good?" "That'll be better for me" he replies while Akeno looks relief with the change of plan. "Then who's going to be in the group to deal with the other captains?" Riser inquires "It's better if you be the one to decide, Rias" the Queen state, "You do know your friend's ability better than I" "Understood."

Rias looks through her team "... Riser, Koneko, Issei, and Akeno" she says, "You four all possess destructive abilities that'll be put in good used when dealing with the Captain's battalions" "Got it!" Issei replies with a grin while Riser and Koneko nod "We'll do our best to clear them quick" Akeno state.

"Then it'll be best for Me, Akame, and Rias to be in the frontline" Nawin inserts "We'll clear through some of the enemies then you, Captain Stan can take command when I go to deal with the captains" "Weakening the enemies frontline will help my men," Stan utters before nodding "Yes, that sounds good." Rias turns to her Bishop "Gasper, I want you to stay near me at the beginning of the war, alright? I want you to be in top condition when Marius's enters the battlefield" "Understood, B-Buchou."

"What's the chance of Marius being in the frontline?" Issei asks "Doubtful," Nawin answers, crossing his arms, studying the map "I've met him, and the guy isn't some brave soul that'll be in the frontline with his men. He'd rather just sit back and watched until he feels like entering the battlefield" "Oh, one of those," Riser grunts "Though that can be used to our advantage," Koneko inserts. Rias nod "Precisely, with Marius not immediately entering the battlefield, it'll give us a huge edge in the war" "But we should still not throw away the possibility of him being there," Stan adds in wisely "It would be wise to keep that in mind" Elmenhilde adds "He does seem like an unpredictable individual" Nawin states.

"So what do we do if Marius is in the frontline?" Issei questions "Then I along with Akame shall keep him busy," Rias inserts "I'll be there too to give you two backup" Stan adds "That sounds good" the Queen nods. "With the three of us then it'll be possible to keep him at bay before Nawin-kun arrives" Akame state, approving of the plan.

Rias thinks for a minute before opening her eyes and turns to the Captain in the room "How many captains are under your command, Captain Stan?" she asks, "We have five," he replies "They are all well-taught and worthy for the title. But like it's been informed before, Tepes holds more manpower so instead of fighting broadly, we'll have to fight strategically." "Then it's best you have a meeting with them and set roles for each captain for this war" the Queen state, "I will," Stan nod "After this meeting, I will set another one with my subordinates."

The meeting continues as the individuals inside discuss more tactics for the incoming battle. All of them solely focus on ending this war quickly and have Carmilla come out victorious and end Marius's reign of terror.

Twin Peak

Twin Peak, the large two mountain that protrudes from the West and East that acts as a barrier between the Carmilla and Tepes faction. The mountain reaches as high as six thousand meters, creating a memorizing sight in the distance when a cold gust looms above it, raining down snowstorm. Currently, dark clouds hover above the mountains with lightning cracking inside. A sign of ominous events to come.

Even with the frightening height and the storm looming above, Sayomi is found sited by the edge of the east mountain. Her left leg hanging around the ledge and her chin rest on the right knee. She gazes down at the open land between the twin mountains, the area where the imminent war between the two factions will take place.

But, Sayomi didn't give a care about the war. She didn't care about the casualty of the innocence. She didn't give an ounce of care about her race heading for a bloody war. All she cares about in Transmere is a single individual that's participating in the war, Nawin Makasha.

Scanning the area that'll soon become a bloody battleground. Sayomi begins picturing the war in her mind. Blood flying to the air, corpses crumbling to the ground, dismembered body splatter everywhere, the scream of pain echoes. Then, there's Nawin. She can imagine him speeding through the battlefield and slaying ever Tepes soldiers in his way. Ready to put his life at risk for the sake of others. A quirk of the Makasha that Sayomi love and hate at the same time. Thinking of that quirk have the Dracul's expression harden slightly as a memory resurfacing.

Past

"Where are you, Nawin!" a twelve-year-old Sayomi dash through the night in blinding speed, rushing through the street like a madwoman. The expression on her face shows desperation and concern. It was nearing nine and the young boy has not returned from the store. He was to pick up some ice cream for tonight and wanted to go alone since the others were busy prepping dinner. Considering the store is nearby, and the Makasha's family were close with the owners. None was worried for Nawin to go fetch the dessert.

It's been past half an hour, and the boy has not returned. Sayomi immediately rushed out of the house to check the store to found out Nawin has already gotten the ice creams and left a while ago. Sayomi's worry instantly grew after that and is now searching everywhere in the city to find the child.

Never in Sayomi's life has she felt this. The feeling of her heart rate beating at a rapid pace, her breather turns heavy. The wave of worry swirls around her entire being. 'Please be ok!' she screams mentally and shoots to the air to give a better view for scouting.

Elsewhere

"Mhhhhhe!" "Will he shut up!?" one of the pairs of men dressed in a black trench coat shouts in frustration. He swiftly turns around to his partner that is carrying Nawin. The boy's arms and legs are tied up with a rope, and a piece of cloth is wrapped around his mouth. "Just deal with it," the person carrying the boy reply monotonously "We're almost to the hideout" "Fucking shit!" the other cuss before turning forward and resume walking.

He glances back and glares at Nawin, who looks back with teary eyes, terror shines in the big brown orbs. "The fucking kid had our original target escaped! What a nuisance" "At least we got a victim for the boss" the other reply in a calm manner "He just said to capture a young specimen" "Huh, guess you're right."

Nawin continues to wiggle, but the man has a tight grip around his body. 'Sayomi! Karasu! Please find me! I-I'm scared' Nawin begs in his mind, fresh tears drip down his cheeks when seeing the mysterious men taking him deeper into the forest, an area he is unfamiliar with which cause him to become more anxious.

After a couple of minutes of walking, the pair spots an abandoned warehouse through the thick bushes. Four guards stationed at the entrance, all dressed in the same trench coat as the two men. Showing hints that all of them are part of some mercenary type group.

Passing the guards and entering the building. There are second floors in the warehouse. Nawin's whole body freeze when a wretched smell of blood enters his nostrils. He looks around and shrieks in horror by the number of corpses laid around the blooded wooden floor. Lots of them are young women and men in their teens. All of them looked like they have just gone through an extreme experiment. Holes and cuts scattered around the corpses and some even have their limbs missing. All of them died with a horrifying expression on their faces.

Scarred by the scene, Nawin begins wiggling around violently and screams through the cloth. His legs are thrashing up and down while tears pour down his eyes. "Ahahaha, that's what you get for interrupting our hunt, you brat!" the man exclaims with a massive grin, loving the terrified expression on the boy's face.

The men head up the stairs to the upper floor. A large lab greets the pair when they emerge from the shadow of the stairs. Many tables are spread across the floor with live patients tightly strapped on them. All are heavily dosed and are in a realm between conscious and unconscious. Bookshelves litter on the sides with hundreds of old-looking books placed in them. Dozens of vials filled with colorful chemicals and blood stood on a metal table set at the center of the room. The whole area resembled a perfect setup for a mad scientist.

"You're back," a deep voice of a man speak and have the two turn to the shadow at the corner of the room where the bulbs of light from the ceiling can't reach. Emerging from the shadow is a middle-aged man with wild gray-hair and glowing green eyes. He is a lanky and tall individual dressed in all white with a doctor coat that's left unbuttoned.

Nawin shivers when the unknown man's steel gaze lands on him. A glint of excitement shines in those wicked green orbs. A sharp smirk forms on the man's face "Very good," he stalks towards Nawin while the mercenary sets him on the ground. The gray-haired man stops and kneels in front of the terrified boy, examining his features "Young, pure, innocent... Just what I wanted" he utters with a dark grin that sends shivers down the Makasha's spine.

The scientist gives a strong pet on Nawin's head before standing up "You're going to be a perfect experimental pig. Set him on one of the tables" he orders and swiftly turns around to grab some equipment. Nawin screams and tries to move around, but the mercenary picks him up and takes him to an empty table.

Setting the boy on the table, the man proceeds to untie the arms first, so he can use the ropes to strap the boy onto the table. The second the rope is untied, Nawin quickly brings his arms up to through the cloth down "SAYOMIII!" he cries out as loud as his lungs would allow. A syringe comes from the right, and its needle punctures his neck. The scientist injects the white fluid into the boy's body. When the syringe is pulled out, Nawin instantly collapses on the table, his eyes slowly turn blank. "That'll keep him asleep for a while" the scientist state with a big grin.

Elsewhere

"NAWIIIN!" Sayomi screams from the sky, stopping at the center of the city. The frantic eyes of the Pureblood shoot to east, west, south, north. Hoping to find any kind of sign of the young Makasha. "Don't do this to me, my dear" Sayomi whispers, her eyes slowly turn glossy as a feeling of dread creeps in after the adrenaline starts leaving from almost an hour of searching.

"SAYOMIII!" Nawin's voice explodes from the east and enters the Dracul's ears. Sayomi snaps her head to the direction, her eyes widen "Nawin!" she shouts and in haste, flaps her wings, blasting to the east in sound speed. "Bastards!" Sayomi shouts with rage in the air, her hair swishing to all direction by the wind "Hurt him and I will dismantle every single one of you!"

Sayomi's eyes glow brightly, and the pupils sharpen. The red orbs shoot down to the warehouse and see the guards stationed at the entrance. Nawin's scent hits the Dracul's nostrils, and her expression hardens when smells of blood pour in, overpowering the other scent.

Smelling the toxic scent of blood and knowing Nawin is in there. Sayomi's face starts twitching violently. A surge of raw rage consumes her entire being, her teeth bare to show those sharp fangs. Sayomi blasts to the ground like a missile and crashes in front of the warehouse.

"What the hell?!" one of the guards exclaims, stunned by the sudden impact. The men quickly get into an offensive stance, all eyes focus on the clouds of dust surrounding the crater. A sound of a growl comes from the dust that catches everyone by surprise. The growl sounds so fierce and powerful, like a full-grown tiger ready to enter a battle to protect its mate.

A pair of piercing red slit eyes opens and stare at the men through the dust. The guards instantly freeze in place by the stare, all unable to move an inch of their muscles. "W-what," "I-Imposib-ble" "C-can't m-move." The men barely are able to function their mouth and is forced hard to move their jaws to utter words. "Pathetic low-life scum!" Sayomi's voice explodes from the dust, scattering it away to reveal herself, standing outside of the crater and glaring menacingly at the men.

Sayomi takes a heavy step forward that cause the ground to crack on impact. "You dare lay your filthy hands on him!" she shouts, and the guard on the left end of the line has his head implode into a gush of blood and organs. His headless corpse crumbles to the ground, and the other guards can only glance at the horrifying fate that befalls on their comrade.

"Scared him! I can see those dried tears on the ground!" Sayomi exclaims, and the guard on the right end proceeds to get his midsection cut clean by the enrage Pureblood's telekinetic ability. The dead man upper body drops forward to the ground while the lower end falls back, blood spurting from the open organs, painting the dirt ground.

Sayomi stops in front of the two remaining men. Both wholly terrified and even if the Pureblood didn't force them to stay in place. The sheer horror they witnessed and the haunting look they are receiving from the Dracul, they would have been frozen in place by just those alone.

"You took him and made him cry... Die" Sayomi snarls out, and her eyes light up. Blood implodes from the men's chests. The thick red liquid pours down from their body, from the clean hole where the heart used to be functioning. The two men immediately collapse forward onto the ground, laid still as death with their blood filling the earth.

Sayomi kicks down the front door and greets with two magic blasts speeding towards her. With a glint of her eyes, the attacks vanquish into oblivion. Sayomi sees the two men that kidnapped Nawin stood at the center of the room, corpses littered around them. She growls when detecting Nawin's scent all over the man on the right and some on the other individual.

"Who the hell are you?!" the man on the left shouts, summoning a blue light lance on the right hand and brings it forward. His partner does the same and gets into an offensive stance. "Where is the boy you took?" Sayomi asks, unable to pinpoint Nawin's scent with the overwhelming stench of blood clouding her sense. "What is it to you?" the man on the left does the talking, holding that disgusting smirk that makes Sayomi want to go berserk "You his relative or something?" "He is my most valuable person in this world, scum" Sayomi hiss and her eyes glints in anger.

The man that barked starts screaming in pain when his right hand is cut clean off and drops to the ground, the arm that holds the lance. His partner's eyes widen by the display and quickly turn to see Sayomi staring at him. And not a second later, his entire abdomen region implodes in a shower of blood, organs splatter everywhere as the dismembered corpse crumbles to the floor.

The remaining man stumbles back, in shock by his friend's gruesome death. He drops to the ground then shakily looks forward and Sayomi standing above him, looking down with those menacing blood-red eyes. "W-what are y-you?!" he stutters out with wide eyes, unable to comprehend that this was how his night would turn. It is entirely different compared to all the previous nights. His job was simple. Captured a specimen for his client and got paid. Lowly humans couldn't harm them. It was an easy job. Something like this shouldn't be happening.

"Just a girl... Protecting the person she cares most," Sayomi answer before decapitating the man's head with her telekinetic ability. With the mercenaries ridden, Sayomi turns upward to the ceiling. She slowly bends her legs down before exploding to the air with a powerful jump that shakes the whole building.

On the second floor, Sayomi burst from the ground and perfectly lands on her feet, slowly standing straight. Opening her eyes, it widens in shock when seeing Nawin strapped onto the table and the scientist stood beside him, holding a syringe that's filled with a strange green fluid. Sayomi snaps and appears in front of the man "Bastard!" she howls and thrust her right arm forward with immense strength behind it.

The Dracul's arm rips through the scientist body, exploding from his back with his heart held in hand. Sayomi squeezes the beating heart until it implodes into pieces of flesh and blood. Ripping her arm out from the dead man, Sayomi gives a stiff kick to the stomach that sends the corpse blasting away, smashing through the wall and disappears into the darkness of the night.

Sayomi pants heavily from her beating heart which is filled with utter rage. She looks up and glares at the hole on the wall "Burn in hell, bastard." Sayomi swipes her right arm to get rid of the blood and the remaining pieces of the heart. She turns to the table and smile in relief when hearing the calm breather from Nawin "Thank goodness," she whispers with glossy eyes and reaches down to hold the boy's head. The ropes that tied him onto the table comes severed.

Sayomi quietly weeps while holding Nawin close to her chest "You h-had me so worried, my dear." A beautiful smile graces the young girl's face, and she leans down to give a loving kiss on the child's forehead. Sayomi takes few minutes to compose herself while holding the Makasha close, feeling him near her has set her heart at ease.

Sighing, Sayomi pulls Nawin back and brings his forehead towards hers. She closes her eyes and begins concentrating on looking into the boy's memory, wanting to see how he got kidnapped. For the next few minutes, Sayomi watches the memory plays.

The scene shows Nawin walking down the dark street, making his way home. But, he came to a stop when spotting the two mercenaries harassing a girl who is presumably a few years older than him. Without hesitation, Nawin dropped the bag of ice cream and rushed to the scene. He shouted at the men to stop which ultimately had their attention averted to him. This gave the opportunity for the girl to escape, which was what Nawin wanted and it eventually led him to be captured.

Sayomi leans back and opens her eyes. Anger and annoyance swirl in those red orbs. "You idiot," she whispers, cupping the boy's cheek "Got yourself into danger just to save a mortal..." Even saying that with a troubled tone, a small smile breaks on the Dracul's lip "You are too good for this world, my dear... You are too good for me."

Sayomi properly sits Nawin up then extend her right palm on his head. "I'm sorry, but" the gruesome image of the corpses downstairs flashes in the Dracul's mind "You shouldn't have seen that, my dear. You shouldn't even be in this position. I'm sorry that I couldn't prevent it" she whispers in a solemn tone. The hand holding Nawin's head begin emitting pink aura "The best thing I can do is removed this horrid memory from you. This night shall not ever be remembered. You don't deserve it, my dear."

Present

Sayomi slowly reopens her eyes, sadness gleam in them. To this day, she still regretted not being able to prevent the young Makasha from experience that horrid night. But, it wasn't only herself that she blamed, there was another person that was to be blamed. The Dracul's eyes flash with distaste when thinking of the other individual who should have been there that night, guarding Nawin.

Ridding of those thoughts before it causes anger to surface. Sayomi exhales and looks below. "You are no longer a weak boy, my dear" she whispers softly as a breeze blows pass, lifting her beautiful silver lock "Let's see how well you fair in this war and against Marius..."

Tepes

A big smirk plastered on Marius's face as he stood on a stage and looked onward at the sea of soldiers that serves him. All of them proudly wear their black armors with the Tepes symbol etched at the center of the chest plate. The captains stood in the front row, lots wearing a grin on their faces. Showing excitement for the upcoming battle with the female-dominated faction, Carmilla.

The citizen of Tepes all stood outside the gates to watch the magnificent view. Parade of vampires cheers for their soldiers and spouting words of encouragement to them and their Lord Marius. But, not all hold the same reaction. Many families looked on in scared and fear, afraid of the civil war breaking out. Not sharing the mindset of their Lord's, but none dared to question and get risked being executed. There has been enough exampled made, and many kept their mouths shut and just watched on the sideline. Some people that are against the war decided to just hide in their house and prayed for it to be over and hope that if Tepes lost, Carmilla would spare them. It was an anxious time for all the people in Vamhaven.

Instead of joining next to his fellow captains, Cadell stood strong beside Marius on the stage. Arms crossed behind his back while his piercing eyes stare forward at the sea of soldiers. "Everyone!" Marius shouts, using magic to boost his voice so the whole of Tepes can listen "It is finally time for us to advance! To make the move that my Father was too coward to perform! I am not my Father."

Marius extends his arms to the sides "Because I will finally finish Carmilla once and for all! End this Civil War! With me as your Ruler! Tepes will reign supreme and own Vamhaven." With a massive grin, Marius brings his right arm forward, opening his palm "Are you all with me, soldiers?! Will you help me end this civil war and bring peace to our world! Stump those weak Carmillas once and for all?!" "Yeaaaah!" "We will show does women!" "Hail Tepes!" "Hail Lord Marius!" the sea of warriors howls to the heaven, raising their weapons to the air.

Marius laughs with joy, just feeling his men's excitement coursing through his veins. "With that determination, we will surely win!" he exclaims and the soldiers' roar in approval. Marius points to the north "Then let us march! Captains lead your men to the borders!" "Yes, Lord Marius!" the eight Captain reply with volume and turns around. The sea of soldiers immediately makes way for their captains to walk through and guide them. Marius grins the whole time at the number of his men 'It's time for Carmilla to fell and Tepes to reign supreme.'

Carmilla

Rias looks at herself in the mirror and looks at her attire. Considering they are heading to the war, she has dressed appropriately for one. Her outfit is similar to the one she wore in Shigemi. It has now become her battle attire. It consists of a long-sleeves white button shirt with the Gremory's Insignia stitched on the right breast pocket. A black combat skirt that reaches to the knees, long black socks that go well with the equally long brown combat boots with white soles. To finish it off is a long red leather coat with long sleeves and it is kept unbuttoned.

Rias unbutton two buttons from the white shirt to give her room to breathe. She perks when hearing the bathroom doors open and looks at the mirror to see Issei stepping out, dressed in the exact same outfit he wore during the Tournament. He tosses the crimson coat on the bed and stretches his arms "Huh," he sighs and looks at her "I'm honestly feeling a bit nervous" "I know," Rias turns around and give a smile "But it is justified. We are heading into a civil war. If it makes you feel better, I am nervous too, my love" "Really?" Issei asks, surprise "You are usually fearless. Like during the invasion against Khaos Brigade. You took full control of the situation."

Rias sighs and cross her arms "I may have done that, but it was all in the moment. I didn't have time to feel nervous or fear. The invasion happened out of nowhere, and it became chaos, so I had to act quickly. This, we know there's going to be a war, and we are heading straight into it. There's no surprise... Only the inevitability of entering a bloody battle." Issei nods "When that certainty is set in mind... I can't help but feel nervous. I mean... This is the first real war I'm heading into" "It's the same as the rest of us, Issei" Rias state "But, the invasion was similar to a war. We were attacked by another group, so it is not like you don't have any experience dealing with these kinds of event" "I guess you're right..."

Rias stops in front of Issei and gives him a loving kiss on the lip for a moment before pulling back, gently holding his shoulders and offering a bright smile. "Don't worry too much. Let's not forget you got me, Nawin-kun, Akeno, Akame, Riser, Koneko, and Gasper to be there by your side. You aren't alone" "Yeah..." Issei holds Rias's arms and a soft smile form on his lip "You're right. Thanks, Rias" "No problem."

Rias leans in to give one more peck on her lover's lip before pulling out "Now, grab your coat and let us head out. I'm sure everyone is waiting by the gate" "Understood."

Akeno stood quietly by the side of the bed and watch Nawin slowly slides in his trademark jacket. His expression has become stoic ever since they returned from the meeting. So, stoic that even Akeno couldn't begin to read what's going on his mind. It is clear though that the upcoming battle is clouding everyone's mind. It will be a gruesome battle and deaths will be inevitable.

Akeno just hopes death doesn't occur on any of her friends. "Akeno," Nawin speaks after fully dressed and the Himejima perks, snapping out of her thoughts "Yes?" "Don't worry," he turns around and wears that kind and reassure smile "Everything will be ok. I'll be ok. Please focus on the upcoming battle instead of worrying about me. It'll only get in your way when the war breaks out" "I know..." Akeno sighs, rubbing her right arm "You already helped me a lot with suggesting that we should split on eliminating the captains" Nawin state, walking towards her.

Stopping in front of his love, Nawin takes both her hands, squeezing it softly "I was too stubborn to not see the fault with the plan. Thinking I could take out Eight Captains all by myself. The others in the meeting were too focused on the war to notice the fault. But, you did, and you spoke out. You helped me a lot and really... Saved my life because dealing with Eight Captains by myself would be too much and would end in my demise." "It was a stupid plan," Akeno utters with a soft smile "Rias was too focus on the success rate and didn't analyze the plan thoroughly" "It happens. She is still growing into the leader role."

Hearing the praise and his gratefulness by her actions have set Akeno at more of an ease. He was right. Because of her interjection on the plan has given Nawin a better chance of going into the war without sustaining critical injury.

Akeno leans up to give a kiss which Nawin wholeheartedly returns, wrapping his arms around the Himejima's slim waist while she holds his arms. The two pull back and smile lovingly at each other. "We'll get through this," Nawin says to reassure the girl, seeing in her eyes that she's a bit anxious "I know we will," Akeno replies "We've been through so much together." "We have, and we always got through those tough times" "And we will again" "Exactly," Nawin smile and leans down to give a soft peck on the Himejima's forehead. "Now, you ready to head out?" "Yes."

Time Skip

The border that split the two factions is a deserted terrain. Even with the Twin Peaks's usual stormy weather. The border's red ground still shines brightly like lava. Nothing lives near here because of the occasion lightning strikes that would rain down by the storms. It is genuinely a deserted place. A place where an inevitable battle between two warring factions will take place.

Now, once the quiet land near the border is now filled with thudding footsteps of hundreds of individuals. Looking in the distance shows a spectacular view. Hundreds of soldiers donned with brave, shining white armors with Carmilla's red symbol etched on the chest plates. The symbol is a fine cross that resembles a sharp longsword with vampire's wings spread from the side of the blade.

Guided by their captains, the soldiers all moved in an affection formation. The largest battalion runs at the center to oversee the others and is governed by Captain Stan. The rest of the four forces are stationed to the side equally. Two on the right and two on the left. Both are led by the four captains of Carmilla. The side units all lagged behind a dozen paces to the center battalion. Creating a formation that'll be ready for an attack from the front and the sides.

Captain Stan rode on his horse that gives him more of a scouting range, being higher than the rest. Fortunately, there are no signs of Tepes's army at the moment. Walking in front of him is Nawin, Akame, Rias, and Gasper. The four are the very frontline at the center battalion.

Akeno leads the group that'll take down the other four captains. Her along with the rest are placed at the frontline of the right battalions. Walking in front of the two sisters that are the captains leading their units. The sisters are tall and beautiful individuals with long platinum-blonde hair and wine-red eyes that are glowing in confidence. Seeing how mighty their captains look helps the soldier's morale and fight off the anxiety for the upcoming battle.

It is indeed a sight to behold, watching the sea of shining white armored women marching to battle. Carmilla may be a female-dominated race, but there are plenty of men in the battalions. Hungry to defend their home from Marius's reign of terror and supporting their spouses that are part of the military. All of them share one mindset, and it is to finally end this civil war once and for all and bring peace to Vamhaven. Allow Tepes and Carmilla to live as one instead of divided.

When reaching the infamous line drawn on the border that separate the factions, Stan raise his right arm up "HALT!" he shouts, and all the battalions come to a stop. "We have reached our destination! Our scouts should return at any moment to inform of the Tepes status. We shall not make any hasty action to march in Tepes blindly!" Stan informs and looks at everyone "Take this moment to catch your breaths and replenish yourself with blood if you need to!" "Yes, sir!" all reply with volume.

Nawin takes a few steps forward and crosses his arms, looking toward the horizon. So far there's an emptiness in the grassless, red land. No signs of even the Tepes scouts to be seen or sensed. "Weird," Rias stops besides, right-hand rest on her hip "I was expecting some scouts to greet us" "Yeah," Nawin mutters in response. Akame stands on the other side, her right hand firmly holding the black thunder "Perhaps they are just late," she inserts "I've looked everywhere, and there's nothing out of the ordinary. No scouts or spies around the area" "That's good to hear" Rias states.

"Good chance they are just late," Stan speaks up, making the three turn around to face him "They move in bigger numbers which will slow them down" "That's plausible," Rias nod "They would need to be more coordinated, so their formation wouldn't break" "Exactly" Stan reply, his eyes firmly set to the south.

Nawin turns his head to the right and sees Akeno looking at him. She smiles and gives a wave which he returns with his own, smiling warmly. Dropping his arm to the side, Nawin returns forward and his expression return to stoic. He glances at Akame and sees her examining the black thunder before shutting it back into the sheath. "You good?" Akame blinks and looks at her King "I'm fine," she replies without hesitation "I'm glad to hear... I know I don't say this enough, but you are a perfect Knight, Akame" Nawin state with a soft smile "And a great friend. A person I am happy to have by my side."

Akame is shocked by the sudden confession, but that is quickly settled with a warm smile appearing on her lip, her eyes soften. "Thank you, Nawin-kun. The feeling is mutual. I'm happy to have you as my dear friend and my King" she replies. Nawin chuckles and wrap his arms around the girl's shoulder and pull her in for a side hug. An action which flusters the Knight and has her turn her head to the side to hide the blush and the small smile on her face.

"Remember to stay near me the whole time, ok?" Rias asks, kneeling on the ground and firmly holding Gasper by his shoulder "I-I will," he replies with a nod. Rias smile warmly at the young boy "Good... Remember, Gasper this is war so please don't hesitate to use your ability. Go all out" "Don't worry, B-Buchou" Gasper gives a confident smile "I will be useful! I want this war to end a-and stop Marius... For Valerie" "That's what I want to hear." Rias gives the adorable Dhampir a ruffle on his hair before standing up.

Crossing her arms, Rias stops near Nawin. The two kings stare at the horizon and watch the afternoon sun shining beautifully. "How's your nerve?" Rias asks "Stable... You?" "Same. Funnily enough, I'm more relaxed out here than when I was prepping in the bedroom" "Because you are now surrounded by your friends and hundreds of soldiers" Nawin replies, smirking "Hahaha," Rias laughs lightly "Guess you're right."

Nawin moves to the right and playfully nudge on the Gremory's shoulder "Though I still see that tenseness on your shoulder. Relax a little, Rias" "Easier said than done," "Think about our next visit to the manga store" Nawin advise "That'll settle you done" "Hehehe," Rias giggle "It honestly has been a while since we head to the store together" "Yeah," Nawin nod "After this... When we return to Kuoh, let's do that" "Yeah," Rias's face breaks into a warm smile "Sounds like a plan."

A sudden feeling of ominous befalls on everyone that has them to freeze from their activities. At once, all set their eyes to the south to see a sea of a black armored infantry marching over the slope of the land. Slowly, as more soldiers enter the view. There's nothing but a sea of blackness. The Tepes military forces almost doubled the size of Carmilla and riding in front of this massive force is Cadell, controlling a towering brown steed.

Captain Stan can hear some murmurs of nervous from behind. Some of his men have gone anxious when seeing the difference in numbers. With their Queen, not present, it is Stan's job to give the soldiers hope. He unsheathes his sword and raises it to the air which immediately garners the attention of everyone.

"Do not crumble because of their number, men!" Stan shouts "Remember all the training that the rest of the captains and I have taught you! Unlike the Tepes that only cares about the numbers to display their dominance! We hold the strength and experience that only they could dream of! We have trained and fought hard to get to where we are now! One of us is just as strong as ten of them! We are the superior soldiers!"

Stan watches Cadell gives him that taunting smirk and raise his right arm. His eyes widen when seeing some of the Tepes's soldiers brings up tall lances to show the Carmilla's scouts dismembered head being skewered on display. The very scouts he sent to bring back the status of the Tepes's force whereabout.

The horrific sight shock many in the Carmilla's force. Seeing their comrade's grisly heads looking at them with dead eyes. Stan's speech becomes forgotten with the soldiers murmuring more in agitation and shock by the display.

"What are you doing?!" Nawin's voice booms around the area that have everyone goes silent and turns to him. Black aura starts coming to life and implodes to the sky, piercing the clouds and shaking the earth. Every soilders gasp in shock and awe at the overwhelming power passing through their bodies. "A little mind games have already broken your confidence?!" Nawin shouts, his red eyes glancing back at every one of the soldiers "You all hold the strength that the Tepes could only dream of! That's why they are playing this pathetic mind games! Because they are nothing but a cowardly bunch! Just like their Ruler!"

Nawin takes a few steps forward, glaring piercingly at all of the Tepes soldiers "Carmilla! Your Queen and Captains have placed their faith in you to win this war! Your people and family at home are praying for your victory! Do all of you honestly can look yourselves at the mirror tomorrow knowing you disappointed all of them! Are you truly on Carmilla's side?!" "... We are!" a group of the soldiers shouts "Carmilla will win!" more starts joining in "We're not giving up!" "Victory shall we ours!" "Yeahhhhh!" all begin cheering and roaring to the heavens. The fire of determination shines in their eyes.

Rias, Akame, Akeno, and the rest of the group stare at Nawin with a big smile. Only he can stand strong in this desperate scenario and have the guts to shout out. He possesses this charisma that'll make anyone want to follow him into a bloody war. Stan along with the rest of the Captains smile in admiration by the Makasha's speech. All of them now holds even more confidence.

Cadell looks displeased when seeing the Carmilla's soldiers spirit returning. "Very well," he utters and looks keenly at Nawin "I'll have to get rid of you promptly." Cadell unsheathes his rapier and points it forward "Kill every last of those filthy Carmillas! TO WAR!" "FOR TEPES!" all the soldiers roars out and breaks out into a sprint.

"They are breaking their formation," Stan utters "They are going in an all-out battle style" Rias inserts "Clearly they are confident with their numbers" Akame state. Stan nods and brings his sword "Stay in formation! We shall go in first then the rest of the battalion follows! Understand!" "Yes, Sir!" all reply with a banging their arms to the chest in respect.

Waiting for the Tepes to draw closer, Stan swings his longsword down when they are a few dozens of meters to the border "HAIL OUR QUEEN! HAIL CARMILLA!" "FOR CARMILLA!" the soldiers howls "TO WAR!" Stan exclaims to the heaven. The center battalion breaks out into a dash and passing the line, stepping into Tepes.

Just a dozen meters away from the Tepes army. Nawin, Rias, and Akame break into a blazing dash that leaves the Carmilla soldiers in the dust. All three blasts their mana and jumps to the air. Nawin summons the twisted etcher. Rias charge up a large size destruction orb on her right hand. Akame draws the Black Thunder and teleports its sheath away.

"Haaaaahhh!" Rias screams in midair, her crimson eyes glaring at the Tepes's forces. She comes down and smashes the destruction orb to the ground to produce a massive explosion that vaporizes dozens of men near her. Nawin and Akame come landing beside her and gets to work. Springing to the sides and begin cutting through anyone that's in their way.

Carmilla and Tepes come to a clash not a moment later, and it becomes an all-out war. Soldiers from each side cutting, smashing and killing one another for their beliefs. Bloods and limps already start flying through the air and bodies starts crumbling to the ground.

Rias charge up more destruction orbs on her hands and blasts it forward. The spheres ignite in a massive explosion that wipes more enemies from existence. "Buchou!" Gasper shouts, and Rias turn around to see an assassin ready to strike, but he freezes, and Rias takes the opening to send a vicious right hook to the face that sends him blasting away. She sighs and looks at the Dhampir, smiling in gratitude "Thanks, Gasper" "Mm-hmm!" the boy nods happily, glad he helped.

Akame side step to avoid a hammer brought down to her head by a massive soldier. She counters with swinging forward and cutting the man in half before jumping ahead and launch a blade through another soldier's skull. She lands on her feet and pulls the sword back. Red lightning starts cracking around the black blade. Seeing a group of men rushing toward her from upfront. Akame pushes the Black thunder to the ground to discharge a wave of electricity that shocked the entire group. When the lightning passes, the men's burning, and smoking corpses drop to the field. Akame pulls her sword back up then advances.

Nawin throws the twisted etcher forward to an archer that's about to fire at him. The sword pierces the man's chest and has him send to the ground. "Now he's weaponless!" a group of Tepes's force surrounds Nawin and charges at him. With a smirk, Nawin summons a wall of swords and sends them forward to impale all the men in the head, effectively killing them all at once. "Fools," he utters, dispelling the swords and teleports to the twisted etcher then rip it out of the corpse.

Nawin sees more men advancing toward him from behind and turns around. Before the men could attack, Captain Stan comes from the side with his horse and cuts all their heads down in one sweep from his blade. He stops the horse and turns to Nawin "Thanks to you and your friends help our frontline remains strong!" he informs "Now it's time to move on to your next objective! Get rid of the four captains on the left battalions!" "Got it" Nawin nods, dispelling the twisted etcher then blasts to the air to locate to captains.

"And so, it has begun," Sayomi whispers, watching the long-awaited war between Carmilla and Tepes come to life. A bloody conflict it has started and will continue. She moves her sight to Nawin and sees him in the air, scanning for the captains' mana. "Let's see how this unfolds."
