Chapter Thirty One
"You are just too easy" Mary snickered as she threw Dean's blazer on his face.
An annoyed groan escaped Deans lips when the material landed on his face, he hissed as he removed the clothing from his face.
He stared at the familiar blazer with a blank face and glared at Mary.
"Thank you for the other day, I really appreciate it and I'm sorry for returning this late" Mary said as she handed him his blazer.
"Are you thanking me or mocking my kindness?" Dean asked
"I just said thank you, or was your mind still in the gutters when I was giving you a heartfelt speech?" Mary smirked
"And who is the cause of my mind being in the gutters?! Why did you do that?" Dean snapped.
"Someone is frustrated, too bad Diane is not here to satisfy you" Mary smiled evilly
Dean rolled his eyes at her.
"But on a more serious note, thank you for helping me the other day and lending me your blazer, I really appreciate it" Mary said with a sweet smile.
"You are welcome, I'm actually surprised you returned it so soon, I thought you'll keep inhaling my amazing scent for some more days" Dean replied with a smirk.
"Scent indeed, your annoying scent is not worth inhaling and getting off of, stop deceiving yourself" Mary replied as she made her way to the door.
"Keep lying to yourself mother Mary" Dean laughed as he followed behind her.

Closing time came and Mary hurriedly walked to the gate alongside Angela, they were chatting and laughing unaware of the hateful glare directed at them.
Diane walked alone for the first time in awhile, as she made her way to the gate she saw the familiar figure of Mary and Angela walking before her and she stared at them with burning anger and jealousy.
She felt angry and bitter at the fact that they both had each other to laugh, fight and lean on while she has no one.
She was jealous of their friendship and closeness. One of the things she wished and craved for but never got.
As she walked she felt loneliness enclosing her and pulling her into a deep hole of sadness.
She watched as Mary walked into her car and a heavy sigh escaped her lips. That was the girl who stole everything from her.
She stole the title and reputation she build for six years within three months without breaking a sweat. She had shattered all her efforts to be on top and be with the one her heart longs for, the source of her happiness and the one who inspired her to fight for what she believed was hers.
Dean was everything to her, he was the one she had dreamed about, the one who comforts her in her times of sadness and puts a smile on her face no matter what. He was her prince in shinning amour and even though she flirts or does whatever with other guys, Dean is the one who owns her heart and Mary stole him from her.
She could vividly remember her first day at Lekki high school. The day her journey started and the day she fell for Dean.
Flashback
A twelve year old Diane looked out the window and watched as the gloomy sky poured down heavily with an annoyed look on her face.
'Guess i'm not the only one feeling sad today' she though as she watched as the rain poured and tapped the window.
She placed her forehead on the cool glass window and felt a shiver go down her spine.
"Stop that and sit properly" her mom scolded her with her eyes on the road.
Diane sighed as she sat properly. Few minutes later her mom parked in front of the school.
She frowned as she saw students running into the school in groups, some were sharing umbrella's while others had on rain coats.
She watched how they interacted with each other even when running on the drenched floor.
She felt a slight ache in her heart as she watched a particular group of three girls with matching umbrella's talking and laughing with smiles on their faces.
She wanted something like that.
She turned to her mom. "Diane, I know you don't like this school, but it's the best around and it is the school that all your siblings attended. It is really nice and they have very high standards that will be up to your liking and I hope you will also meet their educational standards and not disappoint me.
No slacking off, I'm a winner and so is your dad. I refuse to raise a loser! You better buckle up cause if your failures in primary school follows you here too, you'll have me to contend with and you'll regret it" Her mom said as she stared directly into her eyes.
Diane nodded as she took her bag. "Where is your raincoat?" Her mom asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I forgot to bring it" she timidly replied.
"This girl! What is wrong with this brain of yours? Who forgets to take a raincoat with them in this season? Ehn?" Her mom asked with a glare.
"Just go, I'm getting late" her mom sighed as she checked her wrist watch.
Diane bit her lower lip nervously as she got down from the car. She waved to her mom who drove off without sparing her a second glance.
She sighed as she ran to the school, halfway past the gate, she stepped on a pure water nylon and a scream tore from her lips as she slipped and fell on the ground.
Tears filled her eyes as she tried to standup but fell back down and splashed muddy water on her skirt and shirt. Laughter erupted around her and she looked up to see a group of students who stood with umbrella's shielding them laughing as though they were at a comedy show and before she could stop it tears filled her eyes and started streaming down her cheek.
She felt the burn in her eyes as her tears mixed with the rain. She rapidly blinked her eyes trying to stop her tears when she saw a hand before her.
She looked at the hand and sniffled as she looked up to be met with soft brown eyes, she slowly placed her hands in the boys hands and stood up to her feet.
She looked at her blue skirt that was stained in brown and her soaked white shirt. She removed her hands from the boys and looked down in embarrassment.
"What are you all looking at?" The boys voice made her look up as he screamed at the group of students looking at her.
They all walked away whispering to each other.
"Are you okay?" The boy asked, as she adjusted the umbrella so they were both under it.
"Yes, thank you" she smiled.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"I'm Diane" she answered.
"I'm Dean" he replied with a smile as he watched her intently.
"Let's go get you cleaned up" he said as he held her hand and dragged her along with him.
Sorry for the late update guys.
