First period;

Teacher: Okay now students, this chapter will be included in the exam too so learn it well.Your exams are starting next week so get studying if you don't want to spend your summer vacation in school taking make up classes. Good bye now.

As the teacher leaves, Usui turns to talk to Ren.

Usui: You have to tutor me man!

Cyan: Tutor? But why?

Ren: Apparently he is an idiot when it comes to studies. I have no other choice but to tutor him, I can't let him fail.

Cyan: That's so nice of you, right Melody.

Melody looks away from him.

He could feel how angry she was. He couldn't even apologize.

Cyan: Come on now! Melody, talk to him.

Melody: I don't know who you are talking about.

Usui: He just confessed. If your answer is no then just say it. Why are you so mad?

Melody: That's why!

Melody points at some girls looking at them and whispering.

Melody: I hate to attract unnecessary attention!

Usui: So if he had told you this in private, you would've said yes?

Ren, who was looking at his book , starts looking at her , eager to know what she'd say.

Melody blushes.

Melody: I never said THAT!

Cyan: But you haven't given him an answer yet. Are you actually thinking about it?

Melody's thoughts: Why isn't he saying anything?!

Ren's thoughts: Why isn't she giving me an answer? Does she like me too?!

Melody: Shut up Cyan! You two should worry about your exams!

Usui: Two? Cyan, are you bad at studies too?

Cyan: I have problems with English and algebra.

Usui: Ren can tutor you too if you want.

Cyan: No thanks. I have Melody.

Usui: But I thought it's better to learn from the one who stands first.

Cyan: For your information, that person is Melody.

Usui: No way! Ren is way smarter than her!

Cyan: Is that a challenge?!

Ren: Hey, stop it you two!

Melody: Yeah!

Cyan: Come on Melody, you know better that you are more smart!

Usui: As if!

Ren: Usui! Stop it. I don't want to prove anything!

Melody: Yes Cyan, Ren knows I'm better. A competition will only cause him embarrassment. Let the poor guy be.

Ren looks at her like...what?

Ren: Excuse me?!

Everyone in the class start looking at them.

Melody: What? I AM better...

Usui's thoughts: Uh oh! Ren's lost it!

Ren: I don't know what complex you have but you have over confidence miss!

Melody: Seems like you don't like it when I am nice to you!

Ren: Oh? How was it nice?!

Melody: I was looking out for you! I didn't want you to lose to a girl!

Ren: Thanks a lot but I am NOT going to lose!

Cyan: Stop it you two!

Usui: Yeah, we were just kidding.

Melody and Ren at the same time: SHUT IT!!

Melody: You have no respect for ladies!

Ren: Maybe I would if you act like one!

Melody: Fine then! We'll see who's better, in these exams!

Ren: I can't wait!

Cyan: You guys...

Melody: And be ready for a lovely punishment too!

Ren: I can say the same. The one who wins gets to tell the loser to do one thing.

Melody: Very well.

Thye both glare at each other.

Melody gets up from her seat and starts walking away.

Melody: CYAN! We are going to the council room!

Cyan: Oh right! Coming!

Cyan runs behind her as she leaves, giving Usui a last look that said sorry.

Ren hits the table with his fist causing everyone around him to shiver.

Whispers:

Wow! I've never seen Ren so pissed before. And to think he confessed to her a day before... No way! I'm sure they were nothing but lyrics, just look the way they fought! That's true... But who will win the challenge? I can't wait!.....

Ren's thoughts: She really gets on my nerves sometimes ! I don't even care if I like her! I'll show her who's better!

Melody's thoughts: Just when I started to think of him as a good person! Like him? I HATE HIM!!! I show him who's the real boss here!

Later Usui and Cyan meet up.

Cyan: Seems like we have a problem on our hands...

Usui: Tell me about it, Ren is MAD!

Cyan: Melody is ready to kill right now...

Usui: What should we do now?

Cyan: Lets calm them down for now. Just wish that Ren doesn't lose because no one knows what kind of a task Melody will tell him to do!

Usui: Yeah... at least Ren is better in that department...

Cyan and Usui: SIGH.....

The very next day, Melody and Cyan are sitting in the council room when a girl comes running in.

Girl: Melody!

Melody: What is it?!

Girl: Saika....Saika's student council president! He's here and wants to see you! (Breathing hard)

Melody stands up.

Melody: You really didn't have to panic you know. He is a normal human too.

Girl: We can't help it! He scares us....

Cyan: Anyway.. Lets see what going on Melody.

Melody: Okay.

They walk to the place where he is.

There is a big crowd of students there already. Ren reached there at the same time as Melody.

Melody walks to Nagato.

Melody: Good morning, Igarashi-kun. It's so nice to see you!

Melody's thoughts: That show off idiot is here.

She gives him a sweet smile.

Everyone is terrified except Nagato.

Eeryone: THAT'S A DEVIL ACTING LIKE AN ANGEL!!!!

Cyan's thoughts: This is bad.... This is crazy!!!! Melody is acting WEIRD!!!!!

Nagato: Nagato for you my lady. I feel just the same way...

He gently takes her hand and kisses it.

At this, Ren becomes furious.

Ren's thoughts: GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF HER!!!!! AND WHY IS SHE SO HAPPY TO SEE HIM?!!!!!

He tries to jump in but Usui grabs him and tries his best to stop him.

Melody's thoughts: Uhhh! I hope I'm not poisoned!

Melody: What brings you here Nagato?

Nagato: I hope you remember our bet right?

Melody: Of course I do. (STILL SMILING)

Nagato: You know you have won right? According to the bet, I'd do whatever you tell me to...

Nagato's thoughts: She better not piss me! I just came because of the principle.

Melody raises an eyebrow.

Melody: Is that so..?

Nagato nods.

Melody: Then I have a perfect job for you.

Nagato: And that is....?

Melody: Go and beg for an apology from every person you've ever hurt and start with your own school...

Nagato: What?! I AM NOT APOLOGIZING TO ANYONE!

Nagato's thoughts: That brat!

Melody: I knew you'd say that, are you free this weekend?

Nagato: What if I am? (Trying to control his anger)

Melody: Pick me up at 10 am, Sunday.

Nagato: You're asking me out?

Melody's thoughts: * Mentally lets out a laugh* Yeah right, as if! I am not even going out with Ren and he's a better person than this idiot!

Melody blushes and gives him a cute look.

Melody: What...if I am?

Everyone: THAT'S AN IMPOSTOR!!!

Ren's heart broke into tiny tiny peaces.

Ren's thoughts: This is impossible! She can't like Nagato! What is on her mind?!

Cyan's thoughts: What are you thinking Melody?!

Nagato: I'd love to. Sunday it is then. I'll come pick you at your house.

Melody: Wonderful. Here's my number so you can contact me...

She hands him a piece of paper.

Nagato: You DO realize that you can't fool me, right?

Melody: ........Well, I need to go. I'll see you again.

Melody's thoughts: Poor Nagato.....

She smiles at him again and leaves.

Nagato turns around, smirks at Ren, and then leaves.

Nagato knew that Ren had asked Melody out too. And he found Melody very interesting. He knew she was plotting something.

Nagato's thoughts: This girl is very interesting.... I like her...She will definitely make my weekend more exciting ......

Ren goes straight to his club room with his friends. He punches the desk in frustration.

Usui: Calm down dude!

Ren: I don't get her at all!! How could she do this!!!

Karma: You can't force her to like you ,Man..

Ren: That's not the problem here! It's NAGATO we're talking about! I've studied with him in middle school! He's a terrible person. Can you even imagine what he can do to her?!

Kei: Come on Ren. She is way too much strong.

Ren: I don't care! She won't listen to me anyways.... WHY IS SHE LIKE THAT?!

Tokiya: Poor Ren... He's so heart broken.

Ren: You guys don't get it..... I knew she would never like me back but.... I can't let her be with someone who'd hurt her....

Usui: It's okay Ren... just calm down.... she'll be fine.

Usui puts a hand on his shoulder.

Ren's thoughts: I hate it!!!Why can't I figure her out?

Just then, someone knocks at the door.

Kei opens the door to see Cyan.She had a worried expression.

Cyan: Is Ren here?

Kei: Come in.

She enters and goes straight to Ren.

Cyan: Ren,..

Ren: What do you want now?

Cyan: Ren, you don't have to be worried. She was just acting all nice because she was in a good mood today and was able to control her anger.

Ren looks at her.

Ren: Did she tell you that?!

Cyan: Not really but I know she is planning something and by that I mean something bad, for Nagato that is.

Ren: Bad?

Cyan: Melody has her own ways of taking revenge. She won't just let him go with out teaching him a good lesson. She'll make him apologize to everyone .That's one reason why people don't want to be her enemy. And if you ask me, you DON'T want to be in Nagato's place right now.

Ren: What will she do to him?

Cyan: I don't know but she can become a real devil when it comes to revenge and it will be worse because she is avenging her school AND dealing with another devil.

Ren: (SIGH) At least she doesn't like him...

Usui: Good for you.

Karma: Hey, didn't you two fought? If she wins, what will she do to you?

Ren: I...don't know... probably kill me the worst way possible....

Cyan: See? You DO understand her. Now you better start studying then. I should go now, Melody must've already noticed that I'm missing.

Ren: I was joking!

Cyan: But I'm not, bye.

And then she leaves.

Ren: These two friends are something else! They were born to kill boys!

Usui: Tell me about it. That's one thing that hasn't changed in all these years.

Melody sits back on her seat in the student council room. She's alone there.

Melody: (SIGH) It was so hard to smile at him! He's so annoying! I have to make him apologize for his behavior. I'm not the type to let it go.

Melody's thoughts: And then I AM doing something like going out with that guy...Going out huh?.... I've never been on a date before. I never had a boyfriend....Speaking of which, I haven't told Ren my answer....Not that it matters now that he hates me again. I was going to say no anyways. I'll make sure I defeat him in this challenge....He was there in the crowd too, I saw him and I couldn't help but smile at him when he got all angry because Nagato kissed my hand....

Melody begins to giggle.

He's a funny guy....and helpful too... I wonder if he is mad at me... I did break his heart by asking Nagato out.... but he's nice, I'm sure he'll be back to normal once he finds out the truth..... And maybe if I act a little more nicely, he'll like me again....He's the first guy whom I like to talk to..... I wonder what he is doing right now?.....

Melody is thinking all this and smiling to herself, when Nagisa enters the room. She looks at Melody as if she had grown another head or something but Melody didn't notice her.

Cyan:...Umm...Melody...?

Melody looks at her.

Melody: Oh, Cyan, I didn't notice you there.

Cyan: What were you thinking about? You seemed happy.

Melody: Happy? Not really. I was just thinking that we should go to the amusement park. This Sunday, I'll deal with Nagato and next Sunday, we shall go to the park, our exams will be over too.

Cyan: Oh, I'm so sorry Melody. I have to go to the orphanage with my parents. They are hosting an event. We can go next week.

Melody: No, they'll have this new ghost house that day. It's limited for only two weeks, this one and the next. We won't be able to see it!

Cyan: I thought you didn't like those things.

Melody: It's always good to go in there and get scared. Nothing scares me in reality you know.

Cyan: I'm so sorry.... But you can go with your little brother!

Melody: He's going on a trip. Big brother is busy too. Even Nagisa has plans. This is not right! My parents will NEVER let me go alone and I can't tolerate those gorilla type body guards!

Cyan: That's too bad....

Melody: .....Wait a minute, I have a perfect idea!

Cyan: You do?

Melody: Yeah, I know someone who can go with me.

Cyan: Please tell me it's not Nagato.

Melody: Are you crazy?! No way!

Cyan: That's a relief...

Cyan's thoughts: Little by little, Melody is going back to her childish ways.... I'm glad she's happy....
