Chapter 11 Annabeth
Chapter 11
Annabeth
After Percy cut my hands free I tried to non-suspiciously get to a scrap piece of metal about 3 feet away. I was struggling to push it closer to me with my feet without giving myself away when the barn doors flew open. There stood Percy. I didn't know whether to go up and kiss him or go up and slap him. Really?! This is your genius plan? I mentally face palmed. Kelli swiveled around giving me the opportunity to scurry over to the metal and firmly grasp it. I tried to stand but the pain was to strong, I collapsed as soon as my feet were under me. I felt helpless, weak in this feeble
state and I didn't like it. Not one bit. The 2 other empousa walked in about to say something before they caught site of Percy. They grinned.
"What do we have here?" The 2nd empousa said strutting towards Kelli, the 1st empousa walking slowly behind her.
"Well I guess Prince Charming did come to the rescue, too bad not all fairy tales have happy endings." Kelli snarled curtly. She whistled and the 3 hellhounds came howling and pawing from the roof. Percy easily sliced through them all, leaving him breathing a little heavier but nothing different, besides that he looked like Aphrodite gave him a bath in gold sparkles. Kelli just smirked. She was planning something. I had to figure out what. She nodded to the empousa beside her and they both pounced into action, one on either side of him circling him like boxers in a wrestling match. The 1st one pounced and just as she did Percy stuck Riptide straight through her middle, showering him with more gold dust. The 2nd empousa snarled.
"That was my sister!" She shrieked. Percy looked genuinely sad about that before saying,
"Oh that's too bad, but hey you'll be joining her soon so go have a party!" He said, swinging Riptide clean through her neck. Kelli actually fidgeted nervously now. She wasn't expecting that. Percy slowly walked towards her and she took a few steps back. Towards me. She spun on her heel and grasped me by the hair. Lifting me up. I groaned in anguish. She pried the metal from my fingers and pushed the cool point to my neck, I felt my neck be punctured ever so slightly.
"One more step and the girl won't take another breath." She threatened. Percy stopped dead in his tracks. Kelli smirked as she let out an ear-splitting shriek. The silver dragon came bursting through the ceiling. Plaster and wood came tumbling down making me cough. Percy was thrown backwards and was pushing himself off the ground. Kelli took the knife away from my throat and I thought she was going to leave and she did, but not before shoving the knife in my abdomen.
