Jason's POV(finally someone else)

Piper, Jared, Crystal and I decided to go out for a double date, Jared said he would pay since his parents are crazy rich. Jared's dad works with the government and his mom works with makeup for movie stars. I've known Jared since sixth grade, best friends since seventh.

We were laughing and joking around about nothing in particular, until Piper noticed Percy I think his name is, walking up to us in an apron. Waiters don't usually wear aprons, was he cooking? He got our orders, and seemed to be observing us, as if waiting for us to do something. What was he expecting, us to tease him? To attack him? I shrugged it off.

When he came back to give us our drinks, Jared went over the line with the gay thing.

"These better not be poisoned with fag stuff." He said with a scoff. I don't get how the kid didn't attack him, he looked ready to snap Jared's neck, but instead he just replied casually.

"We only add the proper ingredients, Jared. I'll come back to get your food orders in a bit." He said, walking away as fast as he could. I wonder how many rude costumers he gets. Is he even usually a waiter? Doesn't he work at the gas station station as well? News is already spreading like wildfire that some drunk guy inappropriately touched Percy, and Percy has yet to decide if he should press charges. I hope he does, guy deserves it. It's sad how people think Percy is gay for that.

We continued our conversations until another guy came and took our food orders.

"What happened to Percy? He too wimpy to come himself?" Crystal asked with an eye roll. She flashed the waiter a wink, causing Jared to glare at her. Third girlfriend this month.

"He is cooking. And Percy is not a wimp, I guarantee that none of you have jobs, while he has two. Now, what would you like?" He asked impatiently. I bit my cheek, like what I usually do when I feel bad for something. Something is off about Percy, and I only met him today. He set a really bad first impression, he did that himself. No, no he didn't, he was held back. It was silent after he took our orders, when Jared and crystal just bursted our laughing. I forced myself to laugh with them, although I know tomorrow, I will go back to not caring.

After a bit, when the place was closing, I saw Percy glare at his phone, excuse himself, and rushed out of the door. To say my curiosity got the best of my would be and understatement. I told them I was going to find out why Percy rushed out, and they told me to tell them what went down. I walked out quietly, and it felt like second nature, being quiet and discreet yet acting normal. I saw Percy round the corner and lean against the wall. There were dumpsters around, so I could hide.

I was shocked, who was Gabe? Percy acted as if he hated him, how he held the phone away from his ear for a bit, did this Gabe guy say something? Suddenly Percy was angry, saying something about not having the money to buy the stuff because he pays bills. I bit my tongue, I was so confused, who was Gabe? Dad? Maybe. I heard Percy sigh and slide down the wall, rubbing his head stressfully.

"Fuck that." He said lightly putting his head against the wall. He mumbled a few more things, things that shall never be repeated about Gabe. I had to figure out what he had to buy. I hid buy a dumpster when I heard someone coming. Once the lady completely disappeared, I ran back inside, dusting off stray dust off my pants and jacket.

"So? Anything juicy?" Piper asked with a smirk. Jason sighed.

"Probably talking to a boyfriend or something. Some guy named Gabe. Percy seemed to hate him though." I shrugged, and we grabbed what we needed and walked out, seeing that Percy was speeding off on a skateboard. Cool, I didn't know he could ride. It's probably his only way of transportation. We all decided we would follow him, nothing creepy about that.

We drove to the area Percy was and walked down the street casually, until we saw him come out of the liquor store, with some pretty strong stuff. How much did this guy need? Was it even his? My brain argued back. He walked away, after seeing our shocked expressions and rode to the store right next to it. We crept up to a window, and saw he was trying to convince the clerk to give him something, then the guy finally gave in and Gave Percy some strong stuff. He put two of the packs in a beer back and the other in his back pocket, was that for him?

We dropped off Crystal and Piper at their houses and drive around.

"Crystal is so annoying. I need to break up with her. Why aren't there any cute girls that aren't annoying?" Jared asked with an eye roll, still driving.

"I don't know, man. Maybe if you weren't so stereotypical." I laughed at him, scrolling through my contacts list. I texted my mom saying I wouldn't be home for a while. We pulled up at a random apartment building, and climbed to the roof.

"Yo, do you think Percy lives in this rundown building?" Jared asked while laughing. It is run down, not a lot of people live here, so living here would be a cheap go to.

"Maybe. Why are we picking on him anyways? He did nothing to us." I said sitting on a vent-like thing. I wanted a taste of the beer Percy was carrying around, it looked strong, and my mom likes it. She drinks quite a bit, but never abusive at least. She and I get along, better now then a couple years ago. After Thalia left, she had gotten better.

"He made himself an open target, besides, no one is fun to tease anymore. All the new kids are so boring, sporty and just followers, Percy though refuses to look into clubs or even try to make friends." Jared said. He and I continued to argue about Percy, until we suddenly heard someone shout.

"Perseus! Get your ass here now!" Well shit, Percy heard us. We knew his real name was Perseus, everyone did. Every time a teacher called on him, he was addressed as Perseus. We ran to the fire escape, heading Percy say 'coming' and hopped through the window. An unsettling feeling grew in my stomach.

"We can get Leo over to get revenge for him eavesdropping. Call him now." Leo is another one of my good friends, also on the football team, but he is so scrawny, so he isn't played much. I called Leo and put it on speaker phone.

"Ey, Leo, we need a favour from ya." Jared smirked, taking my phone out of my hand. I wanted to wrestle it back from him, because the second he looks at my home screen, I'm screwed. I decided to sit back and wait, he wouldn't snoop through my phone.

"Jared? What do you need?" Leo asked seriously, but you could here the sound of a fire, and a hammer hitting against metal. The sound of his and his moms workshop. They work in there often, no wonder Leo is so good at math.

"We want ya to come to Percy's apartment and beat the shit out of him. He was eavesdropping on Jason's and my convo, so you up to it?" Jared asked.

"Sure, send me the address." I was shocked when Leo said that, I knew he was desperate to get Jared to like him, but not this desperate. I shrugged it off. Jared gave me my phone so I could text Leo the address. Once we did that, we fled the scene.
