The radio was playing as business was starting to slow down at the shop Tiffney was putting out some cases of polish, Michelle was cleaning her station and I was at the cash register counting the money.

Niki came from the back.

"Hey, I'm going to the corner store next door you guys want anything she asked us.

"Yea get me sprite," Michelle said going in her purse handing her some cash.

I pulled twenty bucks out of my bra and handed it to Niki as she walked by.

"Get me a pack of Newport menthols and an Arizona."

"Ok."

"And bring back my change I told her.

After that, she left and Michelle and Tiffney were about to leave to get lunch.

"You coming with us to grab a bite."

I shook my head.

"I'm good." I said.

I was actually waiting on Damion to stop by.

Once they left I turned off the store light and waited for Damion.

As I was sitting in a chair on my phone I heard a knock coming from the back so I got up and quickly walked to the back and opened the door.

"Hey, I said as Damion and two other guys carried two big wooden crates and sat them in the ok in the back with the other supplies.

On the outside, the box just looked like it contained stuff to run a nail shop but as I pulled open the lid Inside was drugs, guns or whatever else people get off the black market.

"What time are the other delivery guys coming?" I asked.

"Around five most likely." Damion said.

As we walked back up to the front I went back to counting money and Damion sat in a chair.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" He asked.

I sighed.

I already knew what he was going to ask.

"Can I borrow some money?" He asked.

I said nothing as I went over to the side and grabbed a white cat jar and pulled out a stack of cash.

"Here," I said handing him the money.

"Thanks you're the best baby sis."

"I know," I said rolling my eyes.

Damion looked at me

What's wrong?" he asked.

"I cant keep giving you money especially behind Tristan's back."

He took a deep breath.

"I know but between the new house, my son's college tuition, Then Trina and Melody they want to keep up with you, Tristan and the kids..."

I narrowed my eyes at him.

"You're not thinking of selling drugs again are you."

He said nothing.

He shook his head.

"No of course not it's just ever since we moved over to the house across from you guys I didn't realize how expensive things are on your side of town..."

I placed my finger on the side of my temple.

"You need to move back into your old house and your old neighborhood.

"I cant do that and what would I tell Trina and Melody."

"Pack your shit up," I said.

He grinned.

"You think you funny." he said.

"Can I ask one more thing?"

"Sure," I said.

"You think Tristan would loan me fifty grand?" Damion asked.

I shook my head.

"You know how Tristan is with lending money."

Tristan is actually is stingy with money surprisingly and doesn't give handouts because he says that once you GIVE someone money more people start to have their hands out.

"Come Candy Tristan will most likely say yes if you ask him." Damion pleaded.

"So you going to the game Friday?" Thomas asked. As we were grabbing our lunch of hot wings and fries.

"Most likely not you know my parents don't want me or my sisters around this school."

Even though Thomas goes to the local Highschool and I go to private school they are walking distance from each other so I walk over for lunch every day plus the food is actually good.

"Why don't you just ask your parents to come here." Thomas said

As we sat at lunch table with melody and Bianca shes this pretty brown skin girl with long black hair I've had a crush on her for the longest but she's a senior and only dates seniors.

"Hey, guys Meldoly said to me and Thomas.

"Hey, I said looking at Binaca for a few seconds longer.

"Hey, Cody she said with a smile that could make your heart melt.

Thomas pulled out his phone.

"You guys heard this new song by Meek Mill he said."

"He still makes music." I said joked.

"Yea check out."

It started playing.

The song was actually cool before we knew it Thomas and I got up and started dancing

All eyes were on us as people were checking us out especially Binaca.

"I don't get why you guys are impressed by this house nigga!" some dude shouted.

The music stopped and standing in front of the crowd of people was this tall big dark skin guy standing with two other guys.

Thomas walked up to them like the badass he's not.

"Hey, man leave him alone you just mad cause you don't get moves like us."

Before anything could be done the guy punched Thomas in the face.

AHHH! He screamed as he fell back Melody and Binca quickly ran over to him.

"Hey man you didn't have to hit him like that." I said.

"Ok, little nigga I'll give these hands then." He said as he walked up to me.

Out of options, I went with the best choice.

I started to quickly run out of the cafeteria the with the guys following from behind.

I ran out of the school and was on the sidewalk on my way back to my school.

"CODY WHAT THE FUCK!"

I looked to see it was my dad in his truck with Jerry.
