Wings And Ruin
Hoka knew well enough the difference between 'heroes' and 'villains'.
Honestly, she was convinced that a simple flick of her wrist would be all she needs to handle most of them. She never wanted to use that. Not unless it was an emergency....
Which is why she was positive that the villain before her was worth the extra mile.
"So, let me get this straight," She said, holding up a hand to silence the villain. "You came here, alone mind you, with a plan to cause some chaos and kill a few heroes?"
The villain glared, saying "Yeah! What's it to ya?!"
Hoka sighed. She glanced at her students, before stepping forward.
"You know, it's been a long day.... So I might just let my moths have you."
"Ha! I'm not scared of a few bugs!"
Hoka's wings twitched. A large red moth left her sleeve, fluttering up to her shoulder.
"You hear that, your highness?" Hoka asked it. "Looks like someone needs a lesson in manners."
.
"I heard someone tried to attack UA." Shouta said over the phone.
Hoka sighed, saying "Yeah, okay?"
"You didn't have to send your moths at him. That was just overkill." Shouta stated. "You can't be so violent with your power anymore. Not when you have students."
"Come on!" Hoka groaned, flinging herself onto her couch.
"Those kids look up to you, you know."
"Yeah, I know."
"Yeah, you know, but you don't know." Shouta retorted. "When you're a leader, you don't get to be selfish. You say 'run', they run. You say 'swim', they dive in. You say 'light a fire', they show up with oil. But whatever happens.... That's on you."
Hoka frowned, taking in his words. She knew she was an example for her students, but she didn't see a reason to worry about it.
*Later on....*
"Hoka. I'm surprised you agreed to meet me here." Hanabi said, smiling softly.
Hoka sat down, sighing. She narrowed her eyes at her mother, her wings flaring out slightly.
"Why are you in my office, mom? And don't lie to me, because I'm not afraid to have one of my sidekicks do the investigative work for me." Hoka sneered.
Her mother signed, nodding.
"I need to tell you something. Something that not even your father knows-"
Suddenly, the door to her office opening, Hibana stepping in.
"Hey, Hoka. Sorry to interrupt, but it's about the USJ." He said, closing the door behind him. "Oh, your mother's here too. Good. That means I don't need to waste time tracking the bitch down."
Hoka resisted a snort, gesturing for Hibana to go on.
"So, I need to ask.... Have to you met this villain before?"
Hoka tilts her head, frowning.
".... No? I literally haven't met this villain before in my life. Why?" Hoka asks.
"Well.... As standard protocol when it comes to villains, any DNA or information we run through the system is automatically cycled through any heroes in order to see if something matches. This also adheres to the quirks of any current villains-"
"Get to the point, Hibana." Hoka interrupted.
".... The villain is related to you."
Her blood ran cold. Her wings lowered slightly in response to her shock, Hoka noticing the guilty look on her mother's face.
"You know something." Hoka scowled. "Tell me!"
Hanabi sighed, looking up at her.
"Hoka.... Your father was abusive, obviously. What you don't is that he was the same way before you were born. I.... I didn't want to bring you both into that life, so I...."
"What did you do?" Hibana demanded.
The woman took a shaky breath, before saying "I split up my twins."
.
Elsewhere, a man landed on a rooftop, blue butterfly wings fluttering as they relaxed. He calmly entered his apartment, humming to himself.
"Well, well, well...." He hummed. "I didn't expect to get into a territorial dispute with Hoka...."
He grinned, spreading his wings, the blue in them flushing brightly at the thought of another encounter.
"Just as strong as expected. Stronger, even.... I cannot wait to see what you come up with, sister."
.
Yo. I know this chapter is short, but I need to be able to plan out a few things, and school is kinda coming up soon soooo.... Bye!
