~Min-hee~
She felt tears welling up in her eyes, a stinging feeling behind them, a sick feeling in her stomach. That cute little kid with the makeup had just come up to her, and not only spread a chocolate cupcake all over her Grandma's dress that she had only borrowed, but just about felt her up in the process.
She took a moment, sniffling and crying, biting her lip to stop the tears. At first she only saw the guy with the eyeliner, but now that she looked, she could see Tao hanging around behind him. Had this been his idea? Had he just told him to smear a cupcake all over her because he thought it would be funny?
She couldn't stop it anymore, the tears came. She covered her face with her hands, too blinded by tears to move, "I...I h-h-hate you, T-Tao!" She sobbed. She was crying like a baby, but she couldn't stop it couldn't even move from her spot. She'd say she hated the other guy too, but she didn't even know his name.
Min-hee heard a crash, and looked up, she gasped. Tao had grabbed a fistful of Baekhyun's shirt and pushed him back into a table, making a vase topple and break on the floor, several people screamed. Tao looked furious. It was strange how his face changed, how before, when she thought for sure he was mean looking just with his neutral expression, that that was the angriest he could look. In reality, when he was really angry, his eyes were alight with fire and his mouth became a thin line. He became the second scariest thing she'd ever seen.
"Ah! What'd I do?!" The guy with the eyeliner said, looking confused. "Isn't that what she did to you?"
Then she heard another crash, this one from the kitchen. That surprised her even more and she jumped. She was glad for it though, because she took that opportunity to take off running. Through the other noise and music, she heard more crashing, more banging, more clanging.
This is why she didn't like parties.
As she ran through the kitchen to access the stairs, she caught sight of Tao's other friends pulling the shelves out of the fridge, making everything in it fall on the floor, making every jar break, spilling all the juice, and they did the same with the cabinets. The girl even had the gall to wink at her. Min-hee cried harder, Tao's 'friends' were absolute jerks, it was pretty obvious that he'd only come to wreck the party.
He's such a jerk, I can't believe I ever thought he was cute!
She ran all the way up the stairs, wiping tears as she went and nearly tripping several times, then she ran down the hall and locked herself in Jaemin's room. She looked around at the familiar, normal room, the walls painted blue and the bed covers striped with red white and green. She slid down the door and sat at it's base, drawing her knees in toward her chest and hiding her face.
She never wanted to see Tao or any of his other stupid friends ever again. How could he do that? After she'd taken him off the freaking street and helped him and--.
A knock came to the door. "Min-hee?"
She knew the voice. She hated that voice now, however melodious and kind it sounded right at that moment, she wished she could shove something in her ears so she'd never have to hear it again, so she could pretend this everything from the past two days had been a dream. Tao. After doing that, he decided to try to talk or something? What a bastard.
"Min-hee, I know you're in there." He said, a little quieter, but still loud enough to be heard over the pounding beat that was playing downstairs.
"Well, go away!" Min-hee screamed. She screamed so loud and hard that it made her throat hurt.
She felt him kick the door. "Fine! Who cares how you feel anyway?" Tao yelled back, getting angry quicker then she thought he would. "Just thought you'd like to know that it wasn't even my damn idea!"
Before she thought he'd gone, she yelled. "But you knew about what your friends are doing in the kitchen!"
"I didn't think they'd go that far!" Tao yelled back.
"You're selfish! You're so damn selfish!" She cried, not able to even talk anymore.
Tao surprised her by trying the door, twisting the knob so harshly that she was sure he'd break it. Finally he groaned in frustration. "God! You're such an idiot!"
After that he must have left, because she heard nothing else after that except her own sobbing.
What was she even going to tell Grandma about the dress? It was probably ruined. And then what would she say? Grandma already thought that she was being bullied, this already proved her point, this just fueled the fire--because it was true, she was being bullied. She couldn't put that kind of stress on Grandma, she was the only family she had, and she'd already worried herself to bits about everything else, from her father's death, to her mother's bailing on her to...
How could he do that? How could he? She hugged her knees tighter to his chest. How could he?
"Min-hee?"
"I told you to leave me alone!"
Silence. "Min-hee, it's Jin-kyong, your friend, remember? Open up."
Min-hee scooted away from the door and unlocked it, letting Jin-kyong open it for herself. When she came in, her eyes widened and she knelt next to Min-hee, brushing hair out of her face.
"What happened?" Jin-kyong asked, looking her up and down, frowning at the chocolate and cake bits. "There was a big fight down there, one guy nearly threw this other dude through a window! If not just tried to break his arm!" She stroked Min-hee's cheek. "Are you okay?"
Min-hee shook her head. "I...I...Did you see the kitchen?" For some reason that was all she could think about. It was Jaemin's house, but what they'd done was just terrible.
"Ah, Yeah, I saw it, Jaemin is having a cow and two horses over it, he's just about yelling and screaming, about to kick everyone out." Jin-kyong raised an eyebrow. "You didn't answer my question, what happened?"
Min-hee bit her lip, then went through the whole thing, starting from last night when she dragged Tao to her apartment from that alley, and telling her about how cute he was about that panda blanket, just because she wanted to embarrass him, and ending on the thing with the cupcake and that make-up kid. Jin-kyong looked surprised, then resumed her usual calm expression.
"That cute little guy with the eyeliner did this? Why? He didn't even know you."
Min-hee sniffed. "It was because of what I did to Tao, he was...I don't know... I guess it was some kind of revenge or something." But even if it was, it felt harsh, mean, spiteful.
Then she heard the music stop, it's rhythmic beat disappearing all of a sudden. Then Amaya came bursting through the door, cheeks flushed from running, she looked distraught, her hair all over, her eyes wild, panting from the running. Min-hee was surprised, she couldn't imagine what had happened to make her so rushed and un-level. "Jaemin tried to kick everyone out!"
Jin-kyong rolled her eyes. "Yeah, what's new about that? He said he was, and I can't blame him after--."
"No, let me finish!" Amaya interrupted, still looking disheveled, "A fight broke out!"
Jin-kyong and Min-hee exchanged looks. Min-hee was even more sure of it then Jin-kyong was, given that she'd found him in an alley, looking like he'd been fighting, she wouldn't put it past him at all.
Jin-kyong was the first to turn back to Amaya, who was just dumbstruck that they weren't reacting to what she'd just told them. "And who are these people who are fighting?" Jin-kyong asked, eyebrow raised.
Amaya shook her head, "I don't know them, but it's some guy with eyeliner, and then a scary looking blonde guy with--."
Min-hee stood up and ran past her, thundering down the stairs. Her friends called after her, but she ignored them. He had to stop, this wasn't the way to act, he needed to stop taking it out on everyone else, he needed to be the cute Panda he was when he saw that blanket, he needed to not beat the sh*t out of that guy. All the way down she wondered why he was even getting into a fight anyway. So what if she'd gotten a cupcake smeared all over her Grandma's dress, so what if Jaemin had told them to leave?
She stumbled through the kitchen, nearly slipping on the spilled juice, then ran into the main room, seeing Tao almost immediately.
"TAO!" She screamed, trying to get him to stop.
He was advancing on eyeliner guy with a look of absolute fury, and even then, it was obvious she hadn't caught the beginning of this fight, there was a bunch of furniture knocked over, people covering their mouths, especially that girl she'd seen pulling everything out of the fridge--she was especially surprised, though she wasn't doing anything to stop it. And then that poor guy Tao was picking on, he was holding his nose, retreating away from Tao, but whimpering and obviously scared. Sure, he'd spread a cupcake all over her, but he didn't deserve to be beaten to a pulp.
"Tao, Stop!" Min-hee tried again.
The guy with the eyeliner took that as an opportunity to say his piece. "I'm sorry, Tao, Okay? I'm sorry!" He said, his voice sounding nasally.
"Baekhyun." Tao growled sounding eerily calm. It seemed like a weird thing to say, but Min-hee supposed there was probably not much else to say to him, Tao was just that upset, for what, Min-hee couldn't imagine.
The guy with the eyeliner--Baekhyun, backed up into a wall, his back hitting it like he wasn't expecting it. Min-hee could see him visibly swallow.
She'd had enough, right as Tao was about to hit him, Min-hee stepped in the way, "Tao, You have to stop!" She closed her eyes, expecting to be punched right across the face for stepping in the way. She waited.
Nothing.
Still nothing.
She opened her eyes, Tao had paused the punch he was about to throw, just staring evenly at her, taking deep breaths, she could feel his breath on her face he was breathing so hard. Then he let his arm drop, backing away. Baekhyun whimpered behind her, and Min-hee had to admit, him standing over her, just staring at her, scared her.
"Come on, Tao." Another guy, one of Tao's friends, put a hand on his shoulder.
Tao rolled his shoulder out of his grip, then stormed out of the house, hands in his pockets, leaving everyone confused. That one girl who'd pulled all the food out of the fridge followed him, calling his name. The other guy ran a hand through his hair, looking annoyed, and followed them.
Baekhyun tapped her on the shoulder. Min-hee was almost afraid to turn around, but when she did, she saw Baekhyun with a bloody nose, smiling at her. "Thanks. He's a sweetie, but when he loses his temper, he really loses it."
"Yeah..." Min-hee said absently, still thinking about Tao, why had he even started the fight?
Baekhyun wiped blood off his nose. "Um, can I have like a napkin or something?"
He tilted his head when Min-hee only nodded. What about Tao? What was he thinking? What was he doing? Why had he outright started a fight with one of his friends? She wished Tao was easier to read.

A/N: To me the worst offense in the history of time is to trash someone's fridge/food supply, because I love food :3 *SIGH* I want a cupcake...
