Territory Information

Talonclan lives high on a mountain. Their territory consists of sparse pine and other evergreen trees, such as spruce, fir, and hemlock trees. The ground around said trees is normally bare of any large shrub, instead covered by a thick layer of fallen needles and moss. The trees generally get thicker the closer one wanders to their camp. The camp is a deep cavern set into the side of the mountain, lit by shafts that are small enough for a kit to crawl through, though they are very steep.

The camp consists of several small caves that branch off from a main cavern. At the mouth of the cave, which opens up into a clearing (which is about 10 by 10 ft, or 3 meters by 3 meters). The clearing itself is surrounded by thick trunks of evergreen trees, but exposed to the air. Therefore, it isn't safe to have kits outside in this area unless a warrior or two are watching them, due to the possibility of predatorial birds.

The dens are situated as follows:

The warriors & apprentices have dens at the mouth of the cavern, their respective homes opening up a few tail-lengths from the entrance.

To the right of the apprentice den is the elder den. It's relatively large, having small divots in the ground where elders can rest that are filled with soft bedding. The oldest den in the camp.

The council den is to the right of the elder den. It's one of the smallest dens in camp, but it's also one of the tallest. A vaulted ceiling reaches about five tail-lengths the largest cat's head.

To the left of the warrior den, there is the medicine den. Small hollows, over the course of many generations, have been carved into the walls and that is where any herbs are stored.

To the left of the medicine den lies the nursery. The opening is uncharacteristically small, making it impossible for more than one adult cat to enter at a time.

Finally, rearing up at the farthest edge of the cavern, is a massive ledge of rock. Imagine Pride Rock from the Lion King, but smaller. That's pretty much it. At the base of this ledge is where the leader sleeps.

Ranking Information

☓ Leader ☓
Leads the Clan with assistance from the deputy, medicine cat, and the council. These duties include deciding mentors, the fate of transgressors, and deciding what to do in times of peril. Receives nine lives from StarClan.

☓ Deputy ☓
Helps the leader lead the Clan. Sets patrols and will take over the Clan when the leader dies.

☓ Medicine Cat ☓
Heals the Clan and receives messages from StarClan in the form of omens and prophecies.

☓ The Council ☓
A group of five elders, the oldest in the Clan and the most respected members of the Clan- even above the higher ranks. Act as advisers to the Leader.

☓ Warriors ☓
The warriors of the Clan. They hunt within the territory, guard the cave and the borders, and fight any threats that may enter the territory.

☓ Apprentices ☓
Learn how to either be a warrior or a medicine cat from their respective mentors. There is no restriction on warrior apprentices, however, there is traditionally only one medicine cat apprentice.

☓ Parents ☓
The parents of the kits, both mother and father. They sleep in the nursery, and helps their mate take care of their kits. Has a quota of patrols they must contribute on per moon, however. The father normally takes most of the patrol duties for the first three moons of the kits' lives.

☓ Kits ☓
The offspring of the parents. They live in the nursery until they are six moons old.

The retirees of the Clan. Younger than the Council.

Territory Information

The Mountaineers have their current base in a large divot in the side of the mountain, on the opposite side of TalonClan. It's surrounded by thick bushes, but the area around it consists of thick, clay-like dirt covered by wiry grass.

The dens are situated as such:

The Alpha and Beta share a den at the very back of camp. It's a large burrow into the ground, carpeted by fresh moss.

The Mountaineers&Rookies themselves make den-burrows wherever they see fit, families and friends often sharing dens.

The healers and slaves have burrows on either side of the Alpha&Beta's den. They are not as comfortable, while the healers have a slightly better setup than the slaves.

Ranking Information

☓ Alpha ☓
The highest authority in the group. Has all the same powers as the leader in TalonClan.

☓ Beta ☓
The mate of the Alpha. Acts as a deputy of sorts.

☓ Mountaineers ☓
Like the warriors in TalonClan, only they focus on patrolling the borders, guarding the camp, and keeping an eye on the Healers and Slaves. They share duties with training Rookies and taking care of Littles.

☓ Rookies ☓
The 'apprentices' of the group. Over 6 moons, under 12 moons. Learn how to fight and become a true Mountaineer.

☓ Littles ☓
The 'kits' of the group.

☓ Healers ☓
Captured rogues forced to heal the Mountaineers. If any cat dies due to neglect, the healer in charge of them will be executed.

☓ Slaves ☓
Captured rogues. Forced to hunt, take care of the camp, and are treated like dirt. Below all other ranks.
