Chapter 6 | Maahishmati II

"Amma! Don't! I'm sorry, please not on that, plea-ah Amma!" Rudra was whimpering with pain

"How many times Rudra? How many times have I told you not to talk with those filthy Royalties?" Kaiki said with another stroke

"Amma I'm sorry! He was alone and he's not bad like the people you are mentioning about"

"You are teaching your Amma? (Another stroke) Who do you think you are? A servant! We left our country, our home and came to this hell. Do you think we are accepted here? No, we are to serve them so that they always remember it was us who lost to them! Now will you again do this?"

Rudrakshini wanted to oppose to that question but here she's the one who always have to listen. Her Amma would never hear, she always took decisions for Rudra and also decided on her behalf. Until now Rudra was a small girl but not anymore, in a month she will be 14 years old.

"Yes Amma"

After they ate food Kaiki slept without even looking at her face. Rudra thought of all the nights how they always slept away and ate without talking. When she tried to sleep straight her bloodied back hurted, she took turns but couldn't find any comfortable position. She stood up from her Khatiya and gazed out of the wooden window. She saw the tall pillars of Maahishmati kingdom and her gaze was fixated on a particular Pillar where Sivadurga was feeding Amar.

Amar didn't wanted to eat so he kept running and she chased him all along, through the window Rudra could half see their struggles as he was very fast. She sighed and took the old bulky bundled cloth which she kept bellow her head when she slept. She slept at a particular spot from where the pillar was visible. She wanted to feel the heat of their relationship from afar, she wanted to swim in their sweet honey-like banter and just for a moment she wanted to feel motherly love.

Rudra woke up with some mud and pebble on her, she stood up as she saw Mani and Amar standing outside her wooden window. They were calling her, she looked at the sleeping figure of her mother and then towards two curious and excited faces. She chose the excited faces and tip-toed towards the threshold and closed the door slowly. They ran, without looking behind or at the road ahead. Wind blew past and the trees danced along but they weren't three anymore as Mani lost the lead and couldn't accompany them further.

Rudra turned to look at Amar, who himself wasn't ready to stop. She couldn't care less and ran faster than ever, at some distance Amar's speed faltered a bit, he was about to stop but something came in front of them and they had to stop abruptly... and that something were big Chariots being escorted by huge horses. Amar and Rudra hid behind the trees because they had came running to an unknown place.

"Amar, where are we?"

"I don't know, let's run back?"

"You sure? Wanna loose again?" Rudra asked mockingly

"You wish"

They ran back, with never ending challenge. They knew their favorite sport now.

That day Maahishmati was offered three Alliances: Rajpurohit, Shamsher Shah and Meghwal, which weren't without conditions. Some were marriage Alliances, Land and Sea salt water alliance. Drushtdumnya was very happy about the Sea Salt Water Alliance because it was very rare and important but the problem was what'll they ask in return or how would this continue.

"So as I said Maharaj, this alliance would be something we'll look forward to. Hope we get your Anumati patr soon"
Kunwar Meghwal

He bowed to Maharaj and before he could leave, Drushtdumnya asked the wavering questions he had in his mind.

"In exchange of what Shri Meghwal?"

"Maharaj, that is the question I've been meaning to hear from you for awhile. Maahishmati is a huge kingdom, our kingdom is nothing in front of it so I need a little companionship with your Suraksha Vyavastha"

"I understand what you need but how will you have it? You need Sainik, or our Sena? Or is there something else we can help you with?"

"Maharaj you're very intelligent answers benevolent. I am asking for you to train a Suraksha Shreni for our kingdom, not those who are already in the Sena"

"Flattery won't take you anywhere besides what do you mean you don't need those who are in Sena already?"

"Maharaj our kingdom is vast in area but we lack population and those who are alive we don't want them to be in Sena. I also don't your best Sainik to protect our kingdom while you have to prepare another batch. I want you to make a new batch for us only, I myself will train all of them. My request hereby lies, Maharaja"

Drushtdumnya pondered over the thought, Kunwar seemed genuine to him and his request was valid too. They would be great friends he thought, he stood up.

"Yes, I allow you to proceed. Take the pre-requisites. Tell our Senapati, Gajkesar who and what all you need. I take this deal seriously, complete the necessary ordeals!"

There were applauds, the Anumati Patr was slumped with Royal Ink.

Kaiki fumed, she was pasing back and froth. She heard about the great deal being done, Maahishmati is growing day-by-day and she isn't happy about it. She had sworn to take revenge but it has been more than 12 years and now she's growing pale and weak, she needs someone to continue her vengeance against Maahishmati Kingdom. She could picture the King of Theerthali being defeated, her people dying and escaping but that isn't what pains her the most. The pain was, Non-Tribes dominating them.

She wanted to pull out the secret door in the Mahal of Maahishmati to get her plans done slowly slowly. Her thoughts were interrupted when a huffing and panting Rudra came inside.

"Where were you?"
