Chapter 1 Opposite

Third person pov.

Eventually, Violet knew it would happen again.

So she stressed, worried, had full-on conversations with herself, and made up unrealistic and realistic scenarios of what could happen and what she would do to get out of them. This happens multiple times an hour for her.

So she planned it out well in her head and in one or two small pocket sketchbooks.

Violet really thought that when she would eventually come across some of her other soulmates again, she would be able to handle just quickly walking past them and letting them live a happy-ish life without her in it.

The lives of her soulmates weren't a secret around the world. Their lives were already hectic and dangerous. She knew that of them. However, for her, she didn't want  her hectic life getting mingled with theirs, they didn’t need to be connected with her fucked up long life.

They would be safe away from her and the danger she could place them into. They would be away from humans, monsters, aliens, demons, gods, and many more that she has made as enemies through her long lifetime.

She wouldn't need to worry about them getting hurt or even worse killed, or tortured because of her and her fucked up past and future.

She completely thinks it's the best choice for them and for her.

She can't handle losing another one of her soulmates by what she has done in her past or by people/things that want to punish her or need something from her.  

If her enemies knew who her soulmate were, they would be put into more danger than they usually are in.

Even so, hanging around them for a long time would target them as possible targets. Doesn't matter if they are soulmates or not, they see them hanging around her, they would take them, if they could, as hostages, so they could use them for bargaining for; really anything.

Sadly for the world, she would agree to their terms if it really came down to it. She would spare their lives over hers. It really wouldn't be hard for her since she couldn't die.

Her heart can stop beating for minutes, hours, days, months, or even years, but she would wake up. She always wakes up. 

Theirs, on the other hand, their hearts would stop beating for the rest of life.

Trust her when she says that she has tried tons of times to die and stay dead.

She's done everything in the books to end her life, but nothing worked for her. Sometimes, she would be dead for a couple minutes or hours, and sometimes she's out dead for days to months to even years. Longest out would be fifty years.

That's one way she got out.

She was cursed, cursed to stay living even when she didn't.

With the curse of immortality, this had her causing problems and making enemies through her years.

Violet doesn't want any of her soulmates to be in any kind of danger by her or even danger itself, but especially by her, so the best thoughts that come to mind would be keeping as far away as she can to them.

But no.

Just no.

Her hopes of keeping her life and the danger of it away from her soulmates just end up completely opposite than what she wanted it to be.

Of course, she knew that she would eventually cross paths with them.

Going the opposite way when she sees them turned into moving into their tower and befriending them. Hiding from them literally turned into living with them.

With semi agreeing to Nick about joining a group, like she's done before, Nick took it in his own hands and when she realized what was actually happening, it was too late for her to turn back.

Violet's new group happens to be The Avengers.

With a new member joining the team, someone needed to get a notice, and get everything ready for them, and that would be Tony Stark.

Tony Stark got the notice of the new member coming in to work and live with the team for whatever long that's needed.

So, Tony was right away told that a new member would be moving into his tower, Tony's tower/Avengers tower. Someone had to tell him, Nick can't move her into his tower without Tony at least knowing of it.

Tony didn't mind at all. All of the other avengers live in the tower with him, so to him, it's just fitting for them to also live with them, makes sense, and all. There's no bullshit on waiting on one of the members because they aren't living close by; so he didn't really care that the new member of the team was to move into his/avengers tower.

He actually was quite excited, thrilled, to say the least. He was getting bored. Really bored. He really had nothing to do for a bit, and it was making him go crazy. So he jumped right onto it. 

Tony was mostly the one who got their room and slight hallway ready for his new teammate.

He had the others pitch in when he really needed it, so he got Thor, Bucky, Steve and Carol help to carry the heavier stuff into the building and straight into the elevator and then straight into their room.

He got right into taking everything out of boxes and putting them together. When everything was put together, he went to work on moving everything up against one wall so the new member of the team could move where they would like their furniture to be. Make it their own where they feel comfortable with the team and where they will be sleeping, especially since this would be technically her new home.

Tony decided to keep the mattress in the middle of the room, so if the new teammate didn't want to move the furniture around the day they move in, they could move it another day and not have to sleep on the hard floor or couch.

Before he left that night, when everything was done, he placed new clean blankets, a couple of pillows, and for fun, a stuffed bear he picked out at the store on top of the mattress.

It was late when he finished it all up and after a ‘drink’, he went to sleep.

When Tony woke up the next day, he woke up on the couch in the main room, with a loud dinging sound ringing in his ears and soft footsteps coming his way.

He pushes his elbows up under himself and places his weight on them. He peaks over the couch to see who was making those soft sounded steps towards him.

He stared at the new person in the building for a few seconds until she landed her eyes onto his brown ones.

Instantly, the new member halted in her place when her eyes landed onto Tony's. All she could do at that moment was to just straight up stare at him.

Few reasons for that, one main one, the big one being the fact that she just came face to face with one of her new soulmates. One of the ones that she tried to stay away from, but of course, failed to do so.

The acting she picked up through her years is on top-notch right now.

Her plan was ‘flawless’. Just act like she wasn't their soulmate. The soulmate they all have been looking for and waiting for.

If she does that, then at any time that she has to, she can leave and keep them from her danger. If they don't know they are soulmates, then there's no worry of trying to find her at the end.

So this means no blushing, acting ‘weird’ and, of course, no falling in love.

Would be very easy in normal standards.

However, instantly, when her eyes landed on his, the soulbond for them had started for her. Not for him yet, though.

The instant rush of energy and pull had coursed through her, a pain settled into her body seconds after her eyes landed on him.

Pain, however, was not something new for her. She actually loves pain, makes her feel…, something at least.

So, the content staring at him was only like that for a few seconds, until her eyes quickly looked around the room for anyone else, but found it was just Tony here in the main room with her. So her eyes went back to his, and she was back to walking towards him.

When she got a good amount of space between the two, she sticks her hand out to him for a handshake, “Hi, I'm the new teammate for your group, I mean team. I’m Agent Williams, or you can call me Agent 02-” she trails off to an immediate stop after she feels like she was talking too much.

She shuffles on her feet as she waits for the handshake back.

The anxiety in her body was rising.

Tony reaches out to her smaller hand, and his fingers graze hers; a light shock goes through Tony's hand, and a powerful shock goes through Violet's hand.

Tony didn't think anything of it. Violet, on the other hand, was mentally freaking out. 

The handshake was tight and short between the two. “You're early,” he says, yawning into his shoulder.

Mentally, Violet's eyes went wide with his statement and the shock that went through her, but she kept herself in check. She didn't want her emotions to be seen. “Sor-” but before she could say she was sorry for being early, Tony pitches in.

“But that's fine. Nice to meet you.” he said, shrugging his shoulders and finally getting off the couch.

As he does so, his eyes never leave her and her body.

He's analyzing her. He's making sure the videos and pictures he saw with Nick when he talked a few weeks ago, plus the picture/file he got from Nick the other night and her were the same person.

It seems that she matches the profile.

Being pleased with the fact that no random person just was able to get this far up in the avengers tower, Tony walks around the couch and stands in front of her, looking down at her, with his arms crossed over his chest. “What’s your name? Because I'm not going to always call you Agent Williams or Agent 02” he says quite forward to her.

“Yeah, of course… Violet, you can call me Violet.”

“Ok, nice to meet you, Violet.”
