Chapter 15
"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" Chad whispers in my ear. "Five more minutes," I complain, throwing a pillow at him.
He shakes his head, "No! Get up now!" He rips the blankets off of my now shivering body.
I sigh, "Fine. But why?" He smirks, "There's a surprise waiting outside." I stagger over to the window, and peel back the curtain. On the ground, is a fresh blanket of snow.
"Snow!" I exclaim jumping up and down. "Woah there, killer," Chad says. I shoo him, "Get out! I gotta get dressed!"
He leaves and I put on a pair of leggings, with sweat pants on top. I find a t-shirt and wear a hoodie. I slip on my snow boots and race downstairs.
My gloves, coat, and hat are there. I put them on and run outside. I make a snow angel, then catch snowflakes on my tongue.
Chad joins me, and we have a snowball fight. "I'm gonna get you, Alex!" He exclaims, grabbing a huge wad of snow. He hurls it forcefully, and it hits me mid-back.
"You're going to pay," I growl. I throw one, and it hits Chad in the face. He wipes the snow away, and glares at me, "That was the last straw."
He runs over, and shoves me into the snow. I quickly recover, and jump onto his back.
"Hey! This wasn't part of the plan!" He exclaims. I giggle, and hold on for dear life.
A car pulls up, and Joey, Caleb, and Alan jump out. "We're here to party!" Caleb exclaims.
"Guys! Guys! Guys! Do you wanna build a snowman?" Joey asks. Alan face palms, as we burst into song.
"Somehow I knew that was going to happen," Alan laughs, after the song is finished. I shrug, and head inside. The four of them follow me into the kitchen where I make a hot chocolate.
"We need to do something fun today," I point out. "Slumber party!" Joey exclaims. Caleb nods, "We could have one at my place, Kelsey won't mind."
"Sounds like fun. The girls will love it," Alan says. "We'll be there. But it's not a slumber party," Chad says.
Joey smirks, "Chad, it's a slumber party, face it buddy." Chad frowns, "Fine, but I will get you all."
I smile, and skip happily up to my room to pack. I took of my sweats and hoodie, so I'm just in leggings and a t-shirt.
I grab a green sparkly duffel bag and toss some stuff in it. I include my favorite green socks, and zip it up. Next to it, I lay my pillow pet, teal blanket, and panda from the arcade.
I walk back downstair, and see Frozen on the TV. All the guys left to get ready so it's just Chad, Fallon, and I.
I flop on the floor and turn my gaze towards the movie. No matter how many times I watch it, I never get tired.
Halfway through, I walk into the kitchen and grab a banana, since I skipped breakfast.
My phone buzzes, I pull it out and see a text from Kelsey. 'Hey girlie:)'
I hit the reply button, and type it out 'Hey Kels:)' I lock my phone and join Chad and Fallon on the couch.
"You excited for the sleepover?" Fallon asks. "Mhm. I haven't had one in a while," I smile.
"Chad, we should pack," Fallon says. Chad nods, and they go upstairs, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
My phone buzzes, signaling another text from Kelsey. 'I've gotta go to the store and get a few things. Wanna come?'
I smile, 'Obviously! Lemme ask, though.'
I face upstairs and knock on Chad and Fallon's door. "Come in!" Chad says. I enter the room, and race over to where they are.
"Guys! Kelsey's going to the store to get a few things for the slumber party and said I could go. Can I?" I ask.
Chad grins, "I don't see why not!" I smile, "Yay! Thanks Chaddy you're the best!" I give him a hug. He smirks, "I know I am." He hands me $20, and I grab my phone excited to tell Kelsey.
'Chad says I can go!!' I excitedly type out. Seconds later I get her response, 'Okay, I'll be there in 10. Tell Chad you'll see him at my house.'
I walk upstairs to get my bag and stuff and tell Chad. "Fallon! Chad! Kelsey said we'll meet you at her house."
Fallon nods, "Okay. Just be careful Alex." I grab my things and race downstairs. I get there just as Kelsey is pulling into the driveway. I pull on my coat, and walk outside to meet her.
She pops her trunk, and I put my things back there. I open the door to her car, and climb inside. "Hey girlie," she says grinning. I smile, "Hey Kels!"
"We've gotta hit the party store, Walmart, and the dollar store," she lists. "Wow! We've got a great adventure ahead of us!" I exclaim. She giggles, "Yes we do!"
Even though it's snowing, the roads aren't icy. We chat about different things. Then, she pulls up to the party store.
We walk inside, and I grab a shopping cart. Kelsey and I walk through the store filling our cart with various items.
"Oooh!" I exclaim, stopping to look at something with glitter. Kelsey stops in her tracks. "That'a perfect!" She exclaims. I wink, knowing exactly what she's thinking, as we add two glitter table cloths to the cart.
We go to the checkout and Kelsey pays the man for everything. Then we head off to our next stop, Walmart.
We have a blast there! We have a huge list of food for the weekend. We put everything, plus a little extra, in our cart.
Kelsey tells me a story about how they once out blue cupcakes in Alan's face. "We're recreating that moment this weekend," she adds.
We buy everything there, and stop at the dollar store. "Why are we here?" I ask. "I have to get some tape, and let's buy some chocolate to eat while setting up," she winks. I get butterfinger peanut butter cups, and she chooses a dark chocolate Milky Way.
We head to her house to decorate, and set up. Caleb greets us at the door. "Welcome to Casa De La Caleb," he says. I smile, "This place is cool."
Once Kelsey convinces him to go play his Mario Kart upstairs, we begin setting up. I set out the Frozen plates, Frozen cups, and Frozen napkins.
"I guess this is what happens when you send girls to the store," Kelsey giggles.
Caleb eventually joins us in the kitchen. "What's up with that?" He points to the tablecloth we put as a curtain. I shrug, "I thought it looked cool."
"Is that an Olaf napkin?" He asks excitedly. I nod, "Yep! We wanted to buy Frozen themed stuff."
Once we're done setting up, I join Caleb upstairs for a friendly game of Mario Kart.
He picks Wario, and I pick Luigi. "I'm so going to win," he points out. I turn to look at him, "That's what you think, punk."
We pick Rainbow Road, and start racing. I'm miraculously in the lead.
"You haven't defeated me yet!" Caleb exclaims, hurling a turtle shell. He slips on a banana peel, and I dodge his shell. It continues on like this, and I cross the finish line a split second before him.
He turns to me, "Good game. I'm not mad at all." I put my hands on my hips, "Really now?"
He charges at me and lifts me into the air. I'm stuck and he walks casually downstairs, and tosses me on the couch.
"Listen punk, nobody ever beats me, and I'd like to keep it that way," Caleb says. I shake my head, "No way! I can't wait to tell everybody!" I wiggle past him, and into the kitchen where Joey and Kelsey are.
"Joey! I beat Caleb at Mario Kart!" I exclaim, excitedly. Joey looks shocked, "Really?" I nod, "Uh huh!" He smiles, "Good job, kiddo!"
Joey fangirls over the Frozen things, then Chad and Fallon show up.
"Guys! You'll never believe what just happened!" I exclaim. "Calm down, killer," Chad says. Fallon smiles, "What happened?"
"I beat Caleb at Mario Kart!" I exclaim. "No, I simply let to win," Caleb says from across the room. I shake my head, "No he said not to tell anybody," I whisper.
Chad smiles, "Good. Now his self esteem has been shattered into a million little shards." Fallon rolls her eyes, and walks off to find Kelsey.
"Chadwick! Not funny!" Caleb exclaims. Joey and I glance at each other before exclaiming, "Funny! We're laughing!"
"I hate you all," Caleb mumbles, as the Powells come. "What's wrong with Cabey?" Alan asks. I smile, "He's upset because he couldn't beat me at Mario Kart." Alan chuckles, "What a goof."
Brycie, Presley, and AJ come in behind him. "Hey girls!" I exclaim, running over to hug them. Presley and AJ giggle, as I tell them the result of our little prank.
"Okay! I'm hungry!" Chad exclaims. "Caleb, you got any food in this place?"
Caleb grumpily walks into the kitchen. "Here, eat these." He shoves a box of Oreos into Chad's face.
He turns to me, "Oh, Alex, you have something in your hair." I shriek, "Aaah! Get it out! Get it out!" Caleb laughs, and whispers, "That's only part of my revenge.
I roll my eyes, "I'm not scared of you, Grimm." He grins mischievously, "You should be. I've got some pretty mean tricks up my sleeve."
"Don't worry, I've got some too." He smiles, "That sounds like a challenge." I wink, "Maybe? You scared?" He shakes his head, "Nah, but you should be." I roll my eyes, "Whatever bro."
