Snow covered the streets of Tokyo. The water froze over, creating icicles that dripped from the roofs of homes. Mira Hisami ran her hand through her short black hair. She hugged her coat to her figure as she looked through the book store window.

'What book should I buy for Hasie?'

She shrugged her shoulders as she went in and picked a book. She had already gotten gifts for the rest of the squad. While walking she came across a familiar coffee shop. Shrugging her shoulders she walked in. It was empty, except for the guy with a blue jacket. The smell of coffee filled her nose as she smiled lightly. Thinking about Anteiku.

"Hello Touka."

The purple haired female looked up and smiled. As well as the guy in the blue jacket, being Nishki Nishio and Yomo, who smiled as well.

"Hey, Mira, the usual?"

"You know it."

Mira walked over and sat across from Nishki, who smiled. Mira smacked his head lightly.

"The hell?" He groaned as he looked up.

"It's rude to put your filthy head on these tables that Touka world so hard to clean." Mira said giving a closed eye smile.

"You calling me dirty?!"

"Yes."

Yomo sighed as he cleaned a cup.

"They never change."

"Well, Mira did change a lot in the last two years." Touka noted while Toni nodded in agreement. The purplenette walked over and sat the cup of coffee in front of the young woman.

"Thanks Touka."

"No problem. I was just wondering what you were doing out this time of day?"

"Oh that? I was just buying gifts for my squad, I also couldn't figure out what to buy...Kaneki." Mira spoke softly as Touka sighed.

"H-How is he?"

"Good."

It was silent between the two.

"Touka."

"Hmm?"

"I will protect Kaneki with my life, you have my word."

Touka smiled lightly as she hugged Mira lightly.

"I know you will."

Mira smiled as she reached over and placed Nishki's glasses on her. The boy doing nothing about it, used to the actions she now does. Mira tanned while stretching.

"I better get going." She got up and handed Touka and Yomo a gift. She walked over to Nishki and handed him his gift before she lightly peaked his cheek then left.

Touka opened her gift, she smiled as she pulled out an old cup from Anteiku and a picture of her, Mira, Hinami and Kaneki. Yomo pulled out a new black jacket and chuckled lightly while Nishki opened his and pulled out a letter and opened it.

You really think I'd get you a gift. In your dreams four eyes! But have a great Christmas anyways!

Mira was now at home with the rest of the squad, eating diner, Akria and Arima joined them and they were all laughing and joking around. After diner they all opened their presents. But Mira stood outside looking at the night sky.

'Nothing is the same. I still wish you were here Hide.'

Mira twisted the ring on her finger, the back door opened and Akira walked out, standing next to Mira. The two girls stood in silence as they gazed at the stars.

"How are you?" Akira asked suddenly, gesturing to the ring.

"Better than I was...before I was so lost in anger and regret. I blamed myself, but I know he wouldn't want that."

"Hide was a great person, Mira. I'm sorry about what happened."

"I know, and thank you...what about you? You know with Amon?"

"Better." Akira responded. Mira gave her a look, causing both girls to laugh quietly. Akira placed her hand on her shoulder lightly, "Come on, we can't keep them waiting."

Mira and Akira walked in, Arima handing the two wine glasses. They all raised their glasses.

"Merry Christmas!"

Mira smiled lightly.

'I'll get better as the years go by. Thank you Hide, for showing me how to live.'
