~ 12 days later ~

"Shit!" I cursed as Nishki hit me from behind.

"Focus. Your not concentrating enough."

"Fuck off!" I hissed as I jumped into the air and land on his shoulders. I squeezed my thighs on the sides of his head and flipped over. I rolled off and pinned my foot to his neck. I smirk at him, before he grabs my foot and I fall over. I groan as I roll onto my side.

"You'll die if you don't learn from your mistakes."

"Shut up four eyes."

"I'm serious, what's on your mind, why are you so distracted?"

I looked at my feet, and refused to answer his question.

"It's Nagachika, isn't it?"

My eyes widen as I clench my fist.

"Shut up." I growled.

He knew he had hit a nerve, so he countined.

"Your afraid, aren't you? Afraid that he won't accept who you really are?"

"Shut the fuck up." I growled as I planted my feet firmly on the ground.

"I mean, if I were him, I'd be scared too..."

"Shut up!" I yelled as I released myself. Sword out infornt of me as I flew towards him. He smirked as he dodged all of my attacks. But I wouldn't give up so easily, so I speed up my attacks. I went faster and faster until we were inturupted.

"My, my. Your a feisty one aren't you."

I stopped and turned to see Tsukiyama.

"What the hell do you want." I growled.

"Well Yoshimura said that we're leaving for Aogiri in 6 hours, just thought I should tell you."

And with that he left. And I felt a hand on my shoulder. And I turned to see Nishki.

"You did good, make sure to fight like that tonight."

I growled as I slapped his hand away and stomped back upstairs. I walked into the coffee shop, where everyone else was.

"Where are you going Mira?" Irima asked.

"Out. I'll be back later."

And with that I left the shop. I walked through the streets of Tokyo. I hugged myself as I pushed my way through the crowds of people. I was worried for tonight. Worried that we wouldn't make it in time. Worried that I'd go in and never come out. So I made a bee line for Hide's place. Not wasting anytime. I finally made it to his small apartment. I pulled my hood up, so it covered my face as I knocked on the door.

"Coming!"

And I heard crashing and a grunt before the door was opened.

"Mira?"

I slowly looked up and gave him a small smile. He opened the door wider for me to walk in. I looked around and saw books and video games everywhere. Along with chip bags and soda cans. Hide smiled sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Sorry for the mess, I didn't think that anyone was coming, and not to be rude or anything. But why are you here?"

I looked at the ground, thinking of an excuse.

"I came to see you before I left." I whispered finally.

"Wait! Your leaving."

"Only for a couple of days, I'm....gonna visit some family back at home."

"Oh, well that's great." He said as he kicked aside some trash and lead me to his room.

"Welcome to Hide's room. You know, not many girls are as lucky as you and get to come here."

I let out a soft chuckle as I shook my head. I walked over and laid down on his bed while I looked up at his ceiling. Hide then laid down next to me, our fingers brushing against mine.

"Hey, have you seen Kaneki, latley? He hasn't been answering my calls."

I held my breath for a moment.

"No, no I haven't, I'm sorry."

And we were silent for a moment. I then felt Hide grab my hand into his. I looked down at our intertwined hands and a soft smile formed onto my lips. I then turned to my side and threw my arms around Hide's waist, burying my head into his chest. I felt his arm snake around my waist as he pulled me closer to him.

"I'll find him, I promise." I whispered.

I could feel his soft laugh from his chest as he tightens the hug. The moment was ruined by my phone going off. I pulled away, and pulled my phone out. To see that Komo was calling. I sighed as I answered the call.

"Komo?"

"Mira, the boss wants you here so we can go over the plan."

"Really, but it's only been 30 minutes." I whined.

"No whining kid, hurry up."

"Okay, bye."

And I hung up. I sighed as I looked over at Hide.

"I have to go." I mumbled.

"I'll walk you out."

Hide led me to the door and opened it.

"Well, I hope you have fun with your family."

"Thanks, Hide."

And I walked out the door, I turned to see him watching me as I walked. But I stopped. I sighed as I turned on my heels and ran back towards Hide. His eyes widened as I threw my arms around his neck and buried my face in the crook of his neck. This might be my last time seeing him, so I might as well make it nice.

"Thank you Hide." I whispered.

"No problem Mira."

I then pulled away and placed my hands on the sides of his face and brought his lips closer to mine. His eyes widened again, before he melted into the kiss. He snaked his arms around my waist, while I losely hang mine around his neck. He deepened the kiss. I then pulled away and rested my forehead against his.

"Wow." Hide whispered while I smiled. I then reached up and kissed him again, but before he could deepen it I pulled away. And smiled sadly at him.

"Goodbye Hide."

"Bye Mira."

And I ran off, all the way to Anteiku. Once I arrived we started to go over the plan for tonight to rescue Kaneki. It was now time to leave. I slipped on the red Aogiri cape and put my hair into a tight ponytail. And finally slipped on my white fox mask.

"Let's do this." Touka said as we fled for Aogiri headquarters. Irima, Komo and Hinami stayed outside while the rest of us went in. We blended in with a group and followed them upstairs.

"There are a lot of doves with boxes...!" One said.

"Let's regroup upstairs." Another spoke. We kept quite though.

"Yamori's nowhere to be found."

"Where is that crazy son of a bitch?"

"He's probably in the hobby room again."

"The hobby room?"

"The torture tower behind tower 5. I hear he's been holed up there recently. He must've gotten his hands on a new toy."

"Toy." Touka whispered harshly, knowing that they were talking about Kaneki.

"I guess we haven't checked that tower yet...."

"No." Touka said.

"Wait...which squad are you guys in again?"

Touka shot herself forward and took off the ghouls head.

"Which squad...?"

We then all pulled off our fake Aogiri mask.

"The Anteiku squad!" Touka said as we attacked them. Tsukiyama shot him self forward.

"Masticate!"

He then killed another ghoul.

"Masticate!"

He then spread his arms out.

"Meager!!!"

"Shut up!" Touka growled.

"Can you do it quietly, Tsukiyama!" Yomo said.

"Why are you wearing your own mask?" Touka asked.

"I can preform at my usual level this way. It's always best to use what you are used to.."

"Your mask is way to ostentatious." Touka said.

"I'd rather use my own too." Yomo said as he put his own on. And I knew it wasn't part of the plan, but I really wanted to wear mine to so I pulled it out and put it on.

"Me too." I said while Touka groaned.

"What're you gonna do now Renji?" Uta asked.

"Well draw too much attention outside. We'll stay inside all the way to the Annex next to tower 5. According to Mr. Yoshimura...the doves have taken control of towers 1 and 2. Aogiri and the doves are still going at it in tower 5 next to the annex. They're both our enemies right now. Be prepared to fight." Yomo explained.

"He's all right, isn't he....?" Touka asked while we all went silent.

We were now in tower 6.

"I'm told Aogiri and the doves are going at it in tower 5. Things could get hairy." Yomo said.

"Finally some humans. I was getting sick of horrid food." Tsukiyama said.

"You won't have time to feed." Yomo said.

"Heh...time is something you make for yourself, Yomo."

I sighed as I stopped.

"What's wrong Mira?" Nishki asked.

"You guys go ahead. I can hear some doves coming, I'll hold then off."

"Mira. You'll get yourself killed, you need to stay with us." Yomo said.

I shook my head as I pulled out my sword and took off my mask. Placing a smile on my face.

"I'll be fine. Have a little faith in me alright." And like that I was gone. I ran down the hall to come across some Aogiri members and some doves going at it. I snuck around the corner and avoided them at all cost. But what I didn't know was that a familer Dove was following me. I made my way to the roof. And stood on the edge, my hair and cape flowing with the wind.

"Where are you Kaneki?" I asked myself asked I looked around. I heard footsteps and whirled myself around to come face to face with Amon once again. I stared him down. Swords by my side.

"The white fox." He growled, while I groned.

"I do not have time for this." I said as I walked by.

"But I do."

He then brought out his Quinque and aimed it for me. I quickly jumped out of the way and held my sword in front of me and charged at him.

'Why did you spare me!?" He asked as he countined to attack me. I blocked his Quinque and looked him stright in the eyes.

"Some people deserve second chances." I spoke firmly as I kicked off of his Quinque and flipped into the air to kick him from behind. I then used the same technique that I used on Nishki and flipped into the air. Landing on his shoulders and using all of my strength to flip him over.

"You ghouls are all the same." He growled.

"No we're not.  Your just to blinded by your anger to see it."

I said as I dodged another one of his attacks. I took my victory to easily, because once I turned around he hit me in the back with his Quinque. I chocked on my own blood and let out a scream in agony as I rolled across the floor. I laid on my side as he got closer. I put my hands on the ground and slowly pushed myself up.

"Why aren't you using your Kagane!?"

I turned to look at him, my blue eyes burning into his brown ones. He stopped as his jaw slightly dropped.

"What!?" I snapped.

"Your.....your a human."

My eyes widen as I felt my face to see that my mask as been knocked off, and it was a couple feet away from me. I turned to look at him agian, his eyes wide, like mine. And I knew that I screwed up
