Since it's been quite a while, I thought I'd include a recap of the past two books in a short and quick summary format before we begin the final book! Here we go:

BOOK 1:

In the realm of Vammal, Cara Arnel was a human slave meant to be sold off at a slave auction for vampires. However, she had other plans.

Somehow managing to run away, she sought to find a safe haven in the werewolf territory of Adalda. However, before she could make it there, she had an unfortunate run-in with the infamous Shifter General, Lucien, of the Celeran Army - the vampire territory.

Snatched away, she's brought to the palace instead where the Vampire Queen Kesla takes a strange interest in her. Forced to be a maid and avoiding the cold Lucien, Cara tries to find new ways to escape while befriending other maids - Britt who was outspoken and Keely who was shy.

Before she knows it, however, the Vampire Prince Damien has his eyes on her. While maneuvering the deadly Palace and surviving amidst the bloodthirsty creatures, she has a personal encounter with the Queen who leaves her with a confusing riddle. After a few heated rush-ins where she feels a strange pull to both males, Cara starts to question things a lot.

All this while, Lucifer's son Killian has returned and plans to destroy and enslave the realm. He's waged wars and the Kingdoms plan to form precarious alliances in order to protect their people. One of these kingdoms is that of Valeryn - the Fae territory.

Right from King Arion's arrival and first meeting with Cara, the womanizer takes a strange interest. Meanwhile, his sister, Seraphima acts suspiciously and grows closer to Cara. There is no rhyme and reason for her actions that any of them understand but Cara seems to have the attention of people she'd rather not. And strangely enough, her heartstrings can't seem to rest when in the presence of these males.

In a twist of fate, she's made into Sera's personal handmaiden and whisked away to Valeryn where she grows closer to both siblings. Taught how to wield a sword by the grey-eyed King, she uncovers secrets in the palace and faces a monster herself. Right after, it's the ebony wolf who always makes her feel safe and protects her when she needs it that comes to her rescue.

Unfortunately, a battle ensues in the Fae territory and as if she knew it would happen, Queen Kesla had sent Lucien and Damien to Valeryn as well. With their opponents being creatures of the night, they're at a disadvantage. Surprisingly enough, the members of the Golden pack that had been rumored to be in hiding, appear to help.

Inside the palace, on the other hand, Cara brushes death and ALpha - the wold, comes to her rescue again. Or so she thought until he finally transformed into his human self and used Cara's very own dagger to kill her as she watched Seraphima taking a blow from the monster Daeva meant for them.

As Cara dies in the arms of the one she'd felt safest with until that moment, she watches as the life is drained out of the one friend she'd made - aside from Micah, someone she'd spent her childhood with and who had been a suspicious character.

BOOK 2:

Cara wakes up feeling strange and finds herself in the werewolf territory of Adalda, meeting Micah and thee sister of Alpha - Melida, first of all.

As it turns out, Damien had taken her as a SoulBound - a mate, when he'd drank from her and thus died alongside Cara.

But both of them were alive - just in different places. Which raised quite a few questions. Resurrection and necromancy were unfortunately not possible, especially to this degree.

While Arion mourned the loss of his sister and having Cara taken away from his Palace, Lucien's walls of ice crumbled slowly with the thought that he'd lost Damien. They're soon informed that Queen Kesla - and by extension the kingdom of Celera - had aligned themselves with Killian.

In Adalda, Cara confronts Alpha who she recognizes as the Alpha King Xander in his human form. Who claims she's his mate and that his actions had been unintentional and out of his control. Suspicious and on the edge, she refuses to cave but realizes she was going to be the 'human' Luna Queen alongside him. Xander's possessive nature and animalistic instincts only make Cara more aware of the mate pull.

But with time, it becomes evident that Cara is not a human anymore and she's apparently regained her lost memories. While keeping her mate in the dark, she turns into an unfeeling Queen, slipping into the role far too easily.

As she completes the mate bond with Xander, she sends out invites to everyone for the Coronation Ceremony Ball. Including invitations to Arion, Lucien and Damien - who are taken aback by the news of her new station and whereabouts.

Jealousy ensues once everyone is in the same space and flashes of what feel like memories pass through their heads from time to time. 

Meanwhile, Cara along with Melida and Micah starts to work in the shadows and gets Britt and Keely to Adalda. Both the women have strange origins and Britt is actually in a way, Cara's half-sister. The true Queen of the Western Witchlands and the most powerful one alive. But Britt hated Cara for justified reasons and had been working for Queen Kesla.  Until Cara pulls a hidden card and Britt finds out that Seraphima's bodyguard Leon who'd been very much in love with the now-dead Princess was her anomaly of a fated mate.

Cara made sure to slowly distance herself and while she couldn't resist the pull of her mates, the memories...she also knew these were changed men and her actions with each of them were to make them actually hate her instead of fall in love with her again.

Slowly working under the covers, the day arrives where Cara is confronted by Xander in a room consisting of Arion, Damien and Lucien as well. But to their surprise, the cruel confrontation comes to a different conclusion when it'd revealed that Damien had been used as a temporary vessel for Killian to use and keep an eye on things. Cara had asked Britt to undo the spells she'd cast, however and thus Killian's control unraveled much too soon.

A confusing series of actions for the males occur where Cara easily wipes out Killian's minions - drawn straight from hell and quite powerful.

While Xander questions her integrity and loyalty and cruel words and questions are thrown about, Melida and Micah find themselves unable to spill the truth and it comes to light that there's a memory blocking spell that Cara had later managed to find and implement with Sera's help without telling Melida. And it prevented anyone from telling the four mates anything about their shared past. 

As it was, there was only way for them to unlock the shared memories: if they were to fall in love for real with Cara. Which had yet to occur despite Xander's vocal claims.

With that truth out in the open, Cara leaves the room, mentally and physically exhausted while the men are left reeling and Damien falls unconscious.

AND THAT'S ABOUT IT!

Time to find out what happens afterwards. If they'll ever remember and what all will happen before Cara allows them back in. Will Britt get a happy ending? Will they win the war against Killian? Will Melida and Micah manage to survive? Many, many things to see through - above all....

The budding romance and conflicting feels the males have finally been forced to deal with.
