No one pov
Nobody said anything to this extraordinary pronouncement. Professor Trelawney delicately rearranged her shawl and continued, "So you have chosen to study Divination, the most difficult of all magical arts. I must warn you at the outset that if you do not have the Sight, there is very little I will be able to teach you...Books can take you only so far in this field..."
At these words, both Harry and Ron glanced, grinning, at Hermione, who looked startled at the news that books wouldn't be much help in this subject.
"Why did I choose this class again." Benjamin groan as he buried his face in his hands.
"Many witches and wizards, talented though they are in the area of loud bangs and smells and sudden disappearings, are yet unable to penetrate the veiled mysteries of the future," Professor Trelawney went on, her enormous, gleaming eyes moving from face to nervous face. "It is a Gift granted to few. You, boy," she said suddenly to Neville, who almost toppled off his pouffe. "Is your grandmother well?"
"I think so," said Neville tremulously.
"I wouldn't be so sure if I were you, dear," said Professor Trelawney, the firelight glinting on her long emerald earrings. Neville gulped. Professor Trelawney continued placidly. "We will be covering the basic methods of Divination this year. The first term will be devoted to reading the tea leaves. Next term we shall progress to palmistry. By the way, my dear," she shot suddenly at Parvati Patil, "beware a red-haired man."
Parvati gave a startled look at Ron, who was right behind her and edged her chair away from him.
The five Slytherin snorted, then the professor immediately turned towards them. She first pointed at Henry, "you child, it seems like you're conflicted by your feelings towards a girl." Henry took a quick glance at the certain girl who is not even paying attention to what is going on.
"And you," she pointed at Easton "be careful, you should put yourself first or else they will take what you want." Easton looked at the person he fancied.
"You boy," she turned to Benjamin "yes?" he swallowed his saliva, "watch out for your enemies. They're on their move to take what is yours." Benjamin slowly nodded and look at the person she mentioned.
"Why do they have the same one?" Kayden whispers to Y/N ear.
"In the second term," Professor Trelawney went on, "we shall progress to the crystal ball -- if we have finished with fire omens, that is. Unfortunately, classes will be disrupted in February by a nasty bout of flu. I myself will lose my voice. And around Easter, one of our numbers will leave us forever."
A very tense silence followed this pronouncement, but Professor Trelawney seemed unaware of it.
"I wonder, dear," she said to Lavender Brown, who was nearest and shrank back in her chair, "if you could pass me the largest silver teapot?"
Lavender, looking relieved, stood up, took an enormous teapot from the shelf, and put it down on the table in front of Professor Trelawney.
"Thank you, my dear. Incidentally, that thing you are dreading -- it will happen on Friday the sixteenth of October."
Lavender trembled.
"Now, I want you all to divide into pairs. Collect a teacup from the shelf, come to me, and I will fill it. Then sit down and drink, drink until only the dregs remain. Swill these around the cup three times with the left hand, then turn the cup upside down on its saucer, wait for the last of the tea to drain away, then give your cup to your partner to read. You will interpret the patterns using pages five and six of Unfogging the Future. I shall move among you, helping and instructing. Oh, and dear," -- she caught Neville by the arm as he made to stand up, "after you've broken your first cup, would you be so kind as to select one of the blue patterned ones? I'm rather attached to the pink."
Sure enough, Neville had no sooner reached the shelf of teacups when there was a tinkle of breaking china. Professor Trelawney swept over to him holding a dustpan and brush and said, "One of the blue ones, then, dear, if you wouldn't mind...thank you..."
When Y/N and Kayden had had their teacups filled, they went back to their table and tried to drink the scalding tea quickly. They swilled the dregs around as Professor Trelawney had instructed, then drained the cups and swapped over.
"I want to get over this," Kayden mumbled.
"Bare with it please," Y/N whispers to her.
"Right," said Kayden as they both opened their books on pages five and six. "What can you see in mine?"
"Hmm, it's a bit hard. It's a bit messy actually," said Y/N as she stares at the teacup "How about mine?" Y/N asks.
"Well, it seems like yours is a mix," Kayden shrugs.
Professor Trelawney went up to them, "Let me see your teacup dears." the two of them looked at each other first then handed their cup to the professor.
"Let's see-" her eyes widen and gasp as she dropped the cups.
"Huh?" Y/N looked at her aunt confused
"Now what is it this time." Kayden groan.
"Y/N dear... you have the grim along with skull an-and you child you have the cross and the grim reaper."
"Does that mean I'm going to face some danger on my path and die while Kayden faces trials and suffering and a grim reaper does that mean she will die again or something?" Y/N look at her best friend.
"I-I'm sorry-"
"Class finish."
Everyone looked behind them and it was the headmaster. "Grandpa?" you stood up with a shocked expression
"Don't act surprised, he's the headmaster after all." Henry chuckled and playfully smacked her shoulder.
"I need to speak with you professor," said The Headmaster.
Professor Trelawney nodded slowly and looked at you, "Class ends here, everyone please leave." Everyone looked at each other confused but mostly to you since you got the grim but it turns out you weren't the only one who got it, Harry got it too.
Harry thinks he got it because of Sirius Black since he is after Harry while yours is probably from him too because you'll be facing danger on your path and it will be his cause too.
As everyone left the classroom, confused about what is going on, a certain Gryffindor had the guts to talk to a Slytherin.
"Y/N, we need to talk."
Harry suddenly grabbed Y/N's hand and was about to take her away from her group however someone grabbed her other hand, it was Kayden.
"And where do you think of taking her? Huh, Potter." Kayden asked as her grip on Y/N tightens.
"None of your business."
"Unfortunately it is my business after all, and you got nothing to do with it. Also, are you being serious? Are you trying to fight against me?" Kayden scoffed as she pulled Y/N towards her and made her stand behind her.
"Everyone here knows that you'll lose if you fight me..." Kayden strode towards him as her hands on her pockets on her skirt. Her expression suddenly darken as all features on her face went numb and looked imitating.
"So know your place, you'll only get her in trouble."
She whispers to his ears and pulled away from him and gave him a smug look, "Kayden, it's fine. I'll be quick, you guys can wait for me." Y/N sighed.
As the debate was started between five Slytherins, four against one. One still wins and decided to wait for her not so far away that could still hear them from the courtyard.
"What is it Harry? Do you need anything?" Y/N smiles at him.
"Y/N, I think it's better for you to stick with me so I can protect you-"
Y/N expressiom changes as soon Harry told her that she needs protection even though she does not need it at all.
"Protect me? Potter, I do not need protection. The only person who needs protection here is you. You're gonna die." Y/N whispers the last part for them to only here but she heard Kayden snickers.
"My bad..." Kayden look away.
"Y-Y/N..."
"I'm sorry about that, but yes. It is fine, I'll be fine and you should becareful more. You might be the boy who live but I am the girl who is hidden from the world, I'm sure grandpa already told you about the weird things about myself."
"Well, he did, but Y/N, I'll always be here for you and protect you even if you do not need my help at all."
Y/N stares at him and chuckles; she tiptoed a bit and ruffled his hair.
Harry felt his heart beat start going faster, "let's see what you got, mister Potter." Y/N winked and left him.
He stood dumbfounded at what happened. He placed his hand to his chest.
"Calm down," he mumbled as he watched her walk away laughing and joking with her friends.
Her laugh was ringing to his ears.
"Fell in love?"
Harry turned around, and it was Hagrid.
"I- I do not know what's you're talking about, Hagrid." Harry tried to keep his cool but couldn't help but blush madly.
________
"Tell me now..."
"I love you", he spoke fast and sighed after it.
"Well everybody loves me."
Cedric and Y/N stare at each other as silence falls to the conversation.
"Pfftt... Is that how you reject people?" Cedric laughs, trying to light up the mood.
"I just telling the truth." Y/N shrugs as she walks ahead of him. "I'll get going now; I have potion class."
Once she entered the room, she immediately went to her friends and sat.
"We'll be pairing up. Malfoy, you with Dumbledore. Knight, with Grey..."
As everyone went to their partners, Henry talked to
Hermione, helping her with what to do and having a conversation.
"Thank you, Henry. I understand it better now." Hermione Granger smiled at him.
"No problem, glad to help." Henry gives her a small smile.
Kayden scoffed; both students looked at her "hmm?" Henry hummed.
"Youre supposed to be my potion partner."
"I am."
"No, you're not; you're disloyal."
Kayden walked away and went to their table and their the potion.
On the other side, Y/N and Draco are somehow arguing about the potion they are doing.
"There's a word to describe you, but I can't quite put my finger on it. It's like a shower, but French." Y/N glared at Draco.
"Douche?" Easton joined their conversation to grab one formula for his and Lavender potion.
"That's right!"
"Y/N, don't be like that. I'm just trying to help look. I have a good mark on potions."
However, there was a bang on the other table. And it was Seamus and Benjamin's table.
"YOU GOT MY ROBE ON FIRE, YOU DUMB TWIT," Kayden yelled as she cast a spell to prevent her robe from bursting into flame even more.
"Kayden, that is not a nice thing to say."
"He got my robe on fire!"
"One day, you'll have feelings for boys." Y/N sighed.
"I already do"
"You do?"
Some boys got that attention.
"Yeah, they make me mad." Kayden groaned as she took her robe off.
"I-"
"Enough, everybody!" Snape slammed his book to the table.
_____
"What's wrong with you? Don't you like girls or something?"
Pansy stood in front of Kayden; she watched Pansy as she tried to make her fall in love with her.
"I don't like you."
After that, Kayden left her standing there in the corridor as some students walked pasted as their heard the conversation.
"That was hard burn."
"I would be so embarrassed."
Whispers were left and right.
"This isn't over yet, Knight!!" Pansy Parkinson yelled.
~~~~
"Excuse me this is a quiet library." A ravenclaw student spoke.
"Why don't you shut the fuck up then."
Slytherins and Gryffindor snickers.
"Kayden that's not nice at all."
"Im trying to teach here and this bloke just went up here and tries to be a smart ass. Tsk"
Kayden closed her book as she glared at the Ravenclaw.
"My apologies, we are currently trying to teach our friends-" "-they're not my friends", kayden cut in "-my friends some subjects here so we might get loud from fruition." Y/N apologised to the Ravenclaw.
"It's alright." Ravenclaw smiled and walked away, but before he walked away, he glared at the boys, especially Kayden.
"That guy is trying to pick a fight with me-"
"Calm down!" Y/N smacks her head.
