The Colosseum
Y/n's pov
It was five in the morning.
I was exhausted.
"Wake up," I mumbled, poking Tom in the face, as he had his arms around me. "Or at least let go of me."
Tom muttered something before hesitating to let me go.
I got out of bed, only to see Tom still laying in bed, he hadn't moved very much.
"Thomas, get up," I said. "You need to pack your stuff unless you've decided to stay another week on the cruise."
"Fine," he huffed, getting up, but instead of getting ready, he put his head on my shoulder.
"Tom, we have to pack," I sighed.
Tom was acting strange, and I wasn't sure why. I mean I had an idea why, the night before he seemed fine.
He then picked me up and put me on the bed.
"Thomas?" I said as he laid down as well, pulling me close to him.
"I just want to be with you," he said.
I sighed, giving in. "Ten minutes," I said, "you have ten minutes."
"Okay," Tom said, burying his head in my back.
My face heated up.
"I know you're blushing, Love," he muttered.
"How?" I asked.
"It's been a week, and you've blushed the entire time," he said. "So, of course, you're still blushing."
"Yeah," I said, "I'm just never going to get used to having you around."
"I hope you don't," he said, pulling me closer. "Because I'm never going to get bored of you."
A small smile found itself on my face.
We sat there for ten minutes, I was sure Tom must have fallen asleep.
"It's been ten minutes," I said, sitting up, causing Tom to sit up as well.
"Do I have to get up?" he groaned.
"Yeah," replied, standing up, but falling back onto the bed, since Tom hadn't let go yet. "We have pack and then to go find my parents by six forty-five."
"It's five-thirty, we have time," Tom said.
"I'll race you to see who can finish packing first," I said, smirking.
Tom immediately let me go, a competitive look on his face.
"Oh, you're on," he said.
It was six-fifteen when the two of us finished packing.
"I won," I said, zipping up my suitcase.
"I was so close!" Tom exclaimed, also zipping up his suitcase.
"That sucks, doesn't it," I said, a small smile on my face.
"Well I don't lose anything, do I?" Tom asked.
I rolled my eyes standing up.
"Come on, we have to go," I said, putting a hand out for him.
We checked out of the boat, walking out to find my parents. Or well, having Dylan find us.
"Boo!"
Tom and I jumped, I turned around to see Dylan, a giant grin on his. face.
"You suck," I said, sticking my tongue out at him.
"You're welcome," Dylan said, then he ran off to where Ivy, David, and Kylee were.
Tom and I went over there as well to say goodbye.
"I'm going to miss you two so much," I said hugging them.
"Y/n, we're neighbors," David laughed, "you can literally see me next week."
"I know, I know," I said rolling my eyes.
"I'll miss you, Ky," I said, turning to Kylee. "You better come and hang out with me next time you come to Utah."
"You better come hang out with me next time you come to Georgia," Kylee grinned.
Tom then said his goodbyes. They were short, but they were good.
"Bye!" Kylee said, waving us off.
"Bye!" I replied.
When they weren't in sight anymore, Tom wrapped his arms around me.
"Next time you're in Georgia," he whispered in my ear, sending chills down my spine, "you should come to see me too."
I quickly turned around.
"Is that where they're filming?" I whispered.
"Maybe," Tom replied.
I grinned.
We then found ourselves at the Trevi Fountain, Tom and I made it to the front, both of us holding a coin.
"Are you ready?" I asked, ready to throw the coin over my shoulder.
It was said if you threw a coin over your shoulder, you would come back to Rome. So, of course, I had to get Tom to do it with me.
"I'm ready more than ever," Tom said, "three... two... one..."
We threw the coins. I looked up to see Dylan taking a picture of us, causing me to frown.
"I'm going to make so much money," he said, a content look on his face while looking through the pictures.
"Oh my Thor, Dylan," I said. "Really? Was that necessary?"
"Of course it was," Dylan said. "You know how much I can make by selling these."
I rolled my eyes, letting him walk away.
Tom turned to me, a small smile adorning his face.
"I kind of want those pictures," he said quietly.
I laughed a little.
"I'll get them for you," I said.
We then went to the Forum.
When we got there, Tom grabbed my hand, interlacing our fingers.
"You two are weird," Dylan said, looking at us.
"You're just jealous," I said, rolling my eyes.
"How would I be jealous?" Dylan asked, raising an eyebrow. "You two haven't even kissed. You two just like each other a lot."
Tom and I went red.
"Or you have, but forgot to tell me," he said, smirking.
I shook my head not saying anything.
We walked around the Forum, looking around.
I marveled at the old structures. I wondered how they were able to build such big buildings, only for them to be destroyed.
"It would've taken them forever to build these," I thought out loud.
"It really would have," Tom agreed.
We finished looking around, then going to look at the Temple of Venus.
"It's so grand," I breathed. "I know if I was one of the people to build it, I definitely wouldn't want it to be hidden, I would want it to be seen by the entire world."
"That would be annoying since the Colosseum was built and is more well known," Dylan said. "I mean, there's a Colosseum wallpaper on the Chromebooks, but not one of the Temple of Venus."
"Shut up, Dylan, that doesn't matter," I said, turning around to see the Colosseum sitting there. "I- yeah, the Colosseum is more well known."
"Told you so," Dylan said, making a face at me.
We finished looking around, then getting to the best part.
Going to the Colosseum.
Well, first we had to wait in a long line before going in, but I quickly got onto Snapchat, snapping several people, including Kylee, then seeing that Tom and Dylan were playing Minecraft.
"You guys are playing Minecraft without me?" I asked.
"You were busy doing other things," Dylan said. "I win- I found iron before you, Tom."
I laughed, opening Minecraft on my phone, joining their world.
After an hour, it was finally time for us to start the tour.
"I found five more diamonds," I said, showing Tom.
"Y/n, are you sure you're not hacking?" Dylan asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I swear I'm not," I said.
"The tour is starting," my mom said, nudging me.
"Right," I said. putting my phone away.
We walked around the Colosseum. We looked at what was underneath, the main "floor", and up to the top.
During the middle of it, Tom once again, grabbed my hand, interlacing our fingers.
I didn't say anything, but as if he had some strange superpower; Dylan turned around, looking at our hands, shaking his head.
"Disgusting," he said. "PDA."
"Thanks, Dylan," I said sarcastically.
We finished the tour, and my parents took us to get gelato.
That was when Tom's phone went off.
He pulled it out, a grim look on his face.
He answered a call.
"Oh..." he said. "Yeah, I'll meet you there... Love you mum... See you soon."
He ended the call, pocketing his phone.
"I have to leave," he said, looking at me.
"What?" I asked, my eyes wide.
I didn't know how to react to the fact that Tom was leaving right then. We didn't even have planned the next time we would see each other.
"My mum just called me, she's meeting me at a restaurant," he said, "so I have to go."
I hugged him tightly.
"I'm going to miss you so much," I said, he hugged me back, a small sad smile on his face.
"I'll come to visit you, don't worry," he said. "And make sure you text me next time you come to Georgia. I'll come see you."
"I will," I said. "Make sure you text me as well."
"I would never forget," he said.
He kissed me. It was a short kiss, but it was enough.
"Bye, Tom," I whispered.
"Bye, Y/n," he replied.
He turned, walking off.
I took a deep breath, waiting till Tom was out of my sight, then turning around, walking back to my family.
