In the Beginning

Y/n's pov

Ugh, it's too early for this was my first thought as my alarm went off.

It was currently seven in the morning, and I just have to say, my body isn't used to waking up that early again. However, today was the day I was leaving to Spain with my family.

I'm hungry and I want to sleep. These were my second thoughts as I got out of bed.

I quickly got changed into some comfortable clothes, as it was not a very short flight from Utah to Spain.

I then found myself walking downstairs from my room to see my mom packing, along with my brother, Dylan or DJ, sitting on the couch on his phone, like always. Then there was my dad, packing his backpack.

"Vacation time," I said unenthusiastically, collapsing onto the couch.

I went to grab my phone, then realizing it wasn't there, so I quickly got up and ran back to my room, grabbing my phone, and bag, which I only then realized I left up there.

I looked around my room, proud of the fact that I actually cleaned it the day before, then opened Wattpad on my phone.

I opened up a Tom Holland story, smiling to myself. I would never admit it, but ever since Captain America: Civil War came out (only a month ago) I had seen the movie multiple times, just to see Tom.

It didn't help that these Wattpad stories made me fall harder for him, but what can I do now, it's a little too late to start hating him.

I walked back down, and to the kitchen, to hopefully get something to eat.

"Y/n, the food is for the airport," my mom said, putting an arm out, stopping me from grabbing anything. "be patient, and wait till we get there."

"But mom, the airport is an hour away," I sighed. "Can't I just have a little something?"

"No," she said firmly. "Go and bug Dylan, he's been on his phone for an hour now."

I sighed and turned to bug my little brother

*time skip brought to you bc why not*

We were at the JFK airport, in Queens, New York.

Queens, New York.

Something quickly dawned on me, I quickly pulled out my phone, texting my best friend David French. Since he was the only person I could think that would tolerate me talking about Tom Holland.

*texts*

y/n
David... I'm in Queens

David
Yeah, I know you told me you'd be there yesterday.

y/n
Okok
But like you know who lives here?

David
Peter Parker
Yeah, I know, you never shut up about him

I rolled my eyes, David wasn't wrong, but I didn't want him to be right.

y/n
Ikik but what if I meet him or Tom Holland?

David
Then you have to court him and make him fall in love with you
Or else you've failed

"Y/n you better hurry, we're leaving," Dylan said, "Are you texting David?"

"Of course," I said, "Just give me one second."

y/n
I have to get on my plane, so bye

David
Bye Y/n

*end of texts*

I put my phone away, and we started boarding the plane to Barcelona, Spain.

After the ten-hour flight, the two times I watched Captain America: Civil War and the zero hours of sleep I got during it, we were finally in Spain.

We got a taxi and got to our Airbnb, where I had to try and stay awake. It didn't go well since when I woke up it was the next morning.

That day, we were going to La Sagrada Familia.

"Dylan, as your cool photography teacher," I said. "I need you to take some pictures."

"Y/n," Dylan sighed. "Do you just want pictures of you?"

I gave a small awkward smile.

"Yes?" I said. "But it'll also help you get better at photography."

"Pay me," he said.

"No," I said. "I'm gracing you with my knowledge, and you want me to pay you?"

"Yes," he said.

"Mom, Dylan is making me pay, to help him learn photography," I complained to my mom.

"Dylan, you should be paying Y/n," my mom said, making me smirk. "But she's not charging you, so just take the photos."

Dylan stuck his tongue out.

"You suck," he said, pulling out his phone.

"Thanks," I said. "I appreciate it."

We got a tour of the inside, and on the other side of the building, I quietly gave Dylan instructions, and tips to help him achieve beautiful photos.

"Thanks," he muttered, as he went through the photos.

"No problem, Dylan," I grinned, patting his back. "Your future wife is going to love you with skills like these."

Dylan rolled his eyes.

"Love is stupid," he said. "You think I'm going to get married?"

"You're fourteen, don't say that," I advised him. "I think for that statement you're going to meet the love of your life this trip."

"Bet," Dylan said.

"Bet," I replied.

"You two, don't start fighting," my dad said.

"We're not," I said innocently,

"Y/n is trying to tell me that 'I'm going to meet the love of my life this trip'," Dylan said. "I think it's stupid."

"You shook on it," I frowned. "So, I'm just saying."

"I don't understand you two sometimes," my dad said, turning to talk to my mom again.

Later that day, we headed to the beach, I, of course, got some photos and attempted to get Dylan to get some as well, but he refused.

After about an hour at the beach, we got dinner and gelato the best dessert, and one of my favorite things about Europe.

"Ah, gelato, my favorite part of Europe," I say to my gelato, while the rest of my family laughs.

"Of course your favorite thing in Europe is the food," my dad laughed.

My mom adds, "You know there are other things in Europe to like other than the food, but I mean this gelato is good."

I laugh and reply, "See dad I'm not the only one!"

Dylan just sits there laughing and almost dies when he tries to eat his gelato.

The next morning, I woke up extremely tired, but I didn't have time to be tired. It was my last day in Spain, since the next morning, we would be boarding the cruise ship.

We walked over to the Ramblas which was definitely one of my favorite things, my dad led us over to this apparently famous fountain.

"The story goes that if you drink the water, that you will come back to Barcelona," he said.

He then proceeded to grab a water bottle, and filled it up with water, getting everyone but me to drink it.

"You know I dislike warm water," I said, staring at the bottle, although I ended up drinking it anyway, regretting it, but carried on with my day.

After we looked around some more we headed back to the beach for the rest of the day.

The next morning, I was somehow even more exhausted than the morning before.

"I can just sleep once we get on the ship, right?" I ask.

"If you're really that exhausted," my dad said.

"I think you'll want to look around," my mom said as if she knew something I didn't. "And maybe see if anyone from your school happens to be on the boat."

"But I'm exhausted," I protest.

"You're not going to talk to anyone unless you know them," my mom said, packing more stuff. "I'm not letting you sit in the room the whole trip, so you better find someone you know, or learn to talk to people."

"Fine," I grumble, going to get ready.

After I got ready (since I just happened to be the only one who wasn't ready), we got breakfast and called a taxi to the port.

The ride was awkward, but soon enough we were at the port. Even though it was awkward, I was glad we didn't have to walk, since our port was the very last one.

We got out of the taxi, and went through the security at the front, and started heading to go get our tickets checked. I looked around to see one person sitting alone. I thought nothing of it.

Until I froze, realizing who he was.
