Midori Catching Style 2.
Requested by: RJblitz99
Question: Can you give any more information on the Midori's catching style?
Information by: Lapis, Purple, Qidorr and Dajelae Dexters
Round two.
So... I only asked Etta for the other catching styles and these are the ones she was able to list.
1: Attached Pokeballs.
2: Stylers
3: Cards
4: Stones
5: Pictures
6: Bond
7: Snagging
8: Team Up
(Please let me know if there's another catching style you would like to know about.)
1: Attached Pokeballs.
This might not be one you know. But here are two good examples of what I mean.
(Thank you Erika and Koga of the Pokemon Adventures for having these examples for me to use)
I don't entirely understand this one. According to Purple, the only difference with the normal catching style and this style is that it depends on the person's skills.
I'll use this example; Purple once used a Bow and Arrow to capture a speeding Zigzagoon. This was supposed to be a test for Reukra, but he was also supposed to get around Taen with the fact that he's a Midori. Since Purple's Archery skills are average, the catch was like an average catch. Now if he had used a shrunken like Koga does, it would be like an average person trying to catch Mew with a pokeball.
It... doesn't work.
So it doesn't matter the pokeball. It matters the Midori's level of experience with the item.
2: Stylers.
This one's interesting. I actually had to wait about an hour for Purple and Pink to do it with Midnight, Lapis, Dijon and Admiral, but it was worth it.
So there are many different stylers. And each one gives a similar result. The only one that doesn't is Admiral's. But let me explain the others'.
Lapis brought two stylers, same technique with different strengths. You have to guide the capture disc with the antenna. He brought a normal styler and a super styler. We were also able to get a school styler, which has the same capture style but is the weakest. But to a Midori, the strength of the styler doesn't affect the capture.
Dijon brought his styler and got another fine styler because his is stronger than the fine styler. Midnight brought an unused version of his styler for the test. There's a difference between these two versions. The Fine and Voltage stylers use the ranger's fingers to guide the disc while Midnight's uses a unique combination of a bond and the wrist area. All got the same reaction of the first pair of stylers.
Then there's Admiral's. She has the most unique one. She has hers on a strap on her right foot with the rest of her weapons and essentials. She depends on her feet to do all the work. And that's when we got a different reaction. Admiral's proved stronger than the other stylers and was the only one that had more efficiency than the others.
I actually don't know why that is. Admiral seemed to be laughing the entire time. But her styler is a Fine Styler. I'll have to do more research on hers... ask later for that.
But the conclusion is that no matter what styler they have, they will always do an average catch.
3: Cards.
This one is interesting. I actually had to ask Apple, Mint and Berry of the Dajelae group to figure this style out and answer the question. Here's what they said:
Apple: The card capture style is very unique. You get a blank card and you have to find a certain type of pokemon. This is easier in Dajelae than other regions. It has to be a non-shiny pokemon with a certain mark on it. It's only hard with poison pokemon with no real form. But other than that, this mark is very distinct.
Mint: As for the Midori version, they have one upside that the normal one doesn't get; they can catch any pokemon. They don't need to look for the symbol.
Berry: But they cannot get shinies.
So there you go.
4: Stones.
I had to ask Qidorr this one because he's the most famous one with this style. According to him, the Stone catching style is similar to the old pokeball style but also has a slight style of the cards.
You have to first obtain a stone (and some other things) that will get formed into this sort of form.
But how this form goes is that you twist the top before you catch/send out/release the pokemon. The stone you got sorta forms into it while the rest of the things you got will complete it. Then an enchantment will be placed on it and there's your catching device. No technology required.
Now for the Midoris, this style doesn't work. At least for Purple. Pink, on the other hand, can successfully use this style. The problem is that normally you have to have a connection with the stone and it has to fill both of your hands. She, on the other hand, only needs it to fill her hands. No connection or else she gets the same result as Purple.
5: Pictures.
Before I say anything else, Moonstone said she wanted to do this one.
Moonstone: Thank you. Onto the details.
For this style, you have to (clearly) have a camera and capture exactly accurate pictures of the pokemon you want. Then you cast an enchantment of the picture and mark it down. You can put these pokemon in a special case called the Capture Case, which only holds the pictures you enchanted.
As for the Midoris, they sadly can't use this style because you have to be a technomage, a mage that uses technology, or something like that. Enchanters, Shamans, and Witchdoctors are some of the examples of other mages that can do this. Purple is close with this one, but he cannot perform the style.
Thanks for that.
6: Bond.
This one actually took me a while to understand at first. But sadly, the Midoris already do this style.
This style is basically when you bond with the targeted pokemon and don't necessarily need anything to capture them.
Well... they have to bond in order to capture all pokemon. In fact, Purple told me himself; "If a Midori doesn't have a love-at-first-sight like bond, the catch will already be a little interesting. But the Midoris give off an aura that gives them that start of a bond for them to catch the target pokemon."
7: Snagging.
This one will be interesting. Snagging is basically capturing a pokemon that isn't wild. Amber and Onyx use this style sometimes. The only difference is that Onyx isn't truly restricted with what he catches while Amber can only capture Shadow pokemon.
For the Midoris, we tested them with Amber and Onyx's snag machines. Sadly, due to Amber's restriction, they couldn't use his snag machine. But Purple was able to use Onyx's. Pink sadly cannot snag.
8: Team Up.
This actually is a rather weak catching style. But it is very powerful for the Midoris. Let me explain.
The Team Up catching style only works if you have more than two or more people doing the catch. They don't have to share the same original style. Here are three examples that I found in our records.
*Crystal and Admiral doing a duo kick style.
*Gold and Cream doing a duet style of pool sticks.
*Yellow and Moon doing an archery/fishing rod capture.
These are just some examples of what a Team Up is.
For the Midoris, this is the only catching that they benefit from. This is because a lot of the conditions that they have to deal with are removed. Such as the following:
*The condition of the Midori doesn't do anything if someone borrows a pokeball from them.
*The field doesn't affect the other person's catch.
The only thing that is affected is the type of pokeball. Original pokeballs are the only option for this style or else this style struggles.
The best example is Purple and Crystal's duet catch.
Crystal had asked Purple for a Pokeball while they were fighting the Escapers and Arceus. He was extremely wounded and wasn't sure about it. But he still passed her a pokeball and she sent it. The catch was successful. This is because she was the person catching, not Purple, which meant his wounds didn't affect the catch.
If you need more information or want info about a certain catch style or want info about their catching style with certain restrictions/conditions/items, let me know.
If you need further clarification or information, be sure to contact me or Etta.
