Shisui pov

I watched as Itachi came back from his mission to retrieve the jinchuriki. He looked kinda sad. Was it because I wasn't there, or was there another reason? Either way, he wasn't happy and I didn't like it.

    I float behind Itachi as he goes to give his report. He stumbles ever so slightly, giving away the fact that he sensed my chakra.

    He opened the door and I saw Pein standing on the balcony. "Report." He orders.

    "Mission failed leader-sama." Itachi said simply, and I smile. Pein frowned.

    "We are going into hiding soon. We must gather our strength. In three years time, we will collect all of the jinchuriki."

    Dismissed , we leave, and I follow Itachi to his room. "Shisui, I know you are there." He said blankly.

    I project my voice. "Yep. So what happened in the mission?"

   Itachi snorts softly. "Nothing that concerns you Shisui."  

So I stay silent, hurt that Itachi wouldn't tell me. When Itachi says nothing else, I leave the room. It seems Itachi didn't want me around.

  Itachi POV

I regret not telling him as his happy presence dimmed, becoming sadder. When he left the room I got scared. What if he never came back? 

Always.

No. He wouldn't leave me just because I was being an ass. He promised. 

  I didn't want to tell him all because he wasn't there for that mission. He never missed a mission, until now.

  I want to go after him, but for some reason I don't.
