Donatello's POV

We found Leo lying in the snow-covered in blood and scratch marks of what seemed to be a bear claw. I ran towards him and looked for a puls. "Is he..." I hear Mickey in the back, his voice shaking with fear. There's barely a puls, "We have to get him to the farmhouse, now!" I say in a rush looking towards Raph. He got my message, he picks up Leo and puts him on his shoulders. We started running back to the house.

We got to Leo's room and Raph laid him down on his bed. "Mickey we need blankets, April I need the medkit in the barn, Karai hot water, and towels," I told them as Raph and I started undressing Leo to get him out of his cold wet clothes. His skin was like ice. How long was he out there? Why was he in the forest? Without his weapons none the less, this isn't like him to do something like that and not tell us where he's going. Karai came back with the towels, so I started wiping off the blood on Leo's body. The more I wiped the more I noticed the claw marks on him, that bear really got him. The cuts were long and deep, but thanks to the cold the bleeding stopped a little.

"Is he gonna be ok?" Karai asks me worried. "I don't know, It doesn't seem like anything important was damaged, he lost a lot of blood and I still have to check for concussions." I looked up to see Raph holing Leo's hand, his eyes were fixated on him. Almost like if he moves he'll just... "I got the medkit and the monitor figured you would need it," April says walking in holding the hospital monitor and medkit. Karai gave me the medkit and April started placing the heart monitor near Leo by his bedside.

I could feel Leo's body flinch under my hand when I rubbed his scars too hard with the warm towel. At least his body's still reacting, that doesn't mean there's no brain or nerve damage. His body is definitely under shock because of the cold, the pain certainly doesn't help. I open the medkit and grab the morphine. I put it in a syringe and inject it into Leo's left arm. His arm twitches at the sudden puncture but he doesn't wake up. He needs blood, his body can't heal this low on blood. Who has the same blood type as Leo... Raph, he has the same blood type.

"Raph, Leo's low on blood and you have the same type can-" he cuts me off, "Whatever he needs.". I grab another needle while he takes off his coat and sits on the chair that was near Leo's bed. I grab a plastic bag, connect it to the tube and blood starts to come out. "Tell me if you feel dizzy or nauseous." I look up at him and he nods in agreement. I go back to Leo and continue cleaning his wounds.

Mickey came in with more warm blankets and puts them on the dresser. "How is he?" Mickey asks leaning on the dresser with a worried look. I honestly didn't know his heartbeat is bearly reading on the screen and his body temperature is terribly low. I went back to Raph and took the needle out of his arm, grabbed the bag and hanged it on the monitor. I connect the bag of blood to Leo's IV. I was so focused I don't think I even answered him.

I think they left cause I couldn't hear anyone after a while, all I could hear was the beeping from the machine. I don't know how long I've been alone. His heartbeat was abnormal, it keeps skipping a beat now and then. I lift my head to look at the monitor but before I saw the screen I saw Raph still sitting there, asleep, holding Leo's hand.

'He never left?'

Raph's POV

Why did he go into the forest? What was so damn important to go out there, alone?! Why didn't he tell anyone? Why Leo. Why? I couldn't stop looking at him there was so much blood. Donnie started cleaning him up but I couldn't let go of his hand. I don't think I can even if I wanted to, I was frozen in place to scared to let go. I could hear my heartbeat in my chest. It's just like when Leo got hurt last time, he was out for three months... And I stayed by his side the whole time and I'm ready to do it again. I'm not leaving his side.

"He's really focused" I could hear the others talk behind me, Don got up and finally took the needle out. It was about damn time. "We should give him some space, Raph?" April says to the others. I'm not leaving. "Raph? We should give Donnie some space" I could feel her hand on my shoulder, I squeeze Leo's hand tighter and give out a low growl. I'm NOT leaving. "Let's just leave him, I don't think he's gonna budge" I hear Mickey says in a voice of defeat. Fuck yeah you better! Her hand disappears off my shoulder and I hear the door to the bedroom close behind me.

I looked at Donnie and he was disinfecting the claw marks on Leo's side. He was focused. I look back at Leo and wonder.

'Why...'

'Why did he go to the forest?'

- 1 hour earlier -

Leo's POV

I've been following the buck for a while now. I turn around to see how far I am but there was nothing but forest. 'How far was I from the farmhouse? Where am I?' I looked back in front of me to see the buck making it's way deeper through the forest. I have no idea where I am. I should have brought my weapons. It was getting darker the deeper we were going. I've never been to this part of the forest before. Me and Donnie label the trees for where we've been before but I can't see any of the marks on the trees. I just noticed, the trees, there all... rotten and dying. In what part of the forest am I?

As I wasn't paying attention to where I was going I accidentally bumped into the buck from behind. It looks at me with an annoyed look. "Sorry," I say rubbing the back of my head. Well, now I can't say it's my imagination, it's definitely real! It was looking straight ahead so I looked a little trying to see what he sees. There was a figure moving around a little further in front.

As I was walking closer I got to see it more clearly. It was a girl by the looks of her figure, she was wearing a black cloak and she looked injured. Her leg was stuck in one of the bear traps I put down. I tried to get near her without scaring her but, of course, I stepped on a tree branch and she got startled. She tried to stand and up but she hissed in pain and fell on her back and her hood came off. She wasn't human she was a...

I heard growling behind me, there's a reason we have traps. I slowly turn around to see a black bear his face so close to mine, I can smell his breath. It's really big. I regret not bringing my Katanas. But before I could act it attacked me, I put my arms in front of my face and felt its claws cut deep in my arms. I stumble back and screamed in pain. I was already bleeding profusely. It kept attacking me again and again. I had no time to run. I tried to run only to get its claws to my side and right leg. I fell to the ground and couldn't get up. The pain was unbearable... I open my eyes only to see it on top of me with a paw on my chest to keep me down. It's... soo... heavy, I can bearly breath!

Before it could kill me something pushed it off. I couldn't see what it was. I turned to my side and saw her trying to get its attention away from me. I started to cough up blood and my vision was getting blurry, I felt so cold and weak, my head was killing me. The last thing I saw was her fighting the bear. And everything went black...

I can hear beeping...

And thumping...

I open my eyes. It's pitch black... I'm surrounded by darkness. I get up and look around, in the distance I see a bright light and start walking towards it. Where am I? I remember being in the forest and I was attacked by... a bear! I remember now, I followed a buck and there was this girl but she wasn't human. I look in front of me and the light seems to be getting closer but...I'm not moving.

In a flash of a second, I found myself back home, in the lair.

"Is everything alright my son?"

Donatello's POV

I was finally done stitching up Leo. I put away the needle, the thread and the disinfectant in the medkit. I check Leo's temperature one more time. I take his temperature with the thermometer... 113° C, thas not good. His body is cold and his skin still pale. Maybe April has a heating pad somewhere, that would help him. I cover Leo with the blankets to his chin. He's still shaking and it sounds like he's dreaming cause he's trying to move around, but he's so weak he can barely breathe. I should also get some oxygen for him, I think I have an oxygen tank in the barn, not sure, I know I have one in the lair but with the snowstorm on its way. It would be too dangerous.

I look towards Raph and it seems like he fell asleep. I should let him sleep, better that then get a cranky Raph. I remember April telling me something about Raph's ankle. I lift his pants and see his bruised ankle. 'Oh, it's just mild bruising I'll just wrap it up'. I finished wrapping his ankle and put one of the extra blankets on Raph, grab the medkit and head for the door. I close the door behind me and head downstairs. 'Smells like pizza.'

- 3 hours later -

Raph's POV

I woke up still sitting on the chair beside Leo. Must 'have fallen asleep. The machine was still beeping, I think its Leo's heartbeat, so that's good, sounds better than before. His skin is still cold. I get up from the chair and notice a blanket falling off me, probably April. I walk to the dresser and grab more warm blankets, I look down feeling something on my foot and see a bandage 'Thanks Don'. I hear shuffling. I look back towards Leo and he's moving, but just a little. He's making sounds like he's trying to say something.

"Easy Leo," I tell him as I put an extra blanket on him. "Just rest, everything is gonna be okay." I rub his forehead to calm him down and his body slowly relaxes. He's so cute when he sleeps. His skin is so cold but his forehead is warm, he's starting a fever. That's no good. I'm trying to think of ways to get his temperature up, 'cause obviously the blankets aren't working.

I remembered when we were kids during winter we would sleep two by two in our rooms to keep warm, and it worked. I started getting undressed and placed my clothes in the corner. I walk toward Leo and pull back the covers. 'Jesus, I never noticed how to rip Leo is, he's almost like me...' I shake away my thoughts and climb in the bed. I pull Leo closer to me in a tight embrace, I could hear him groan as I pull him towards me.

Everything goes quiet, all I could hear was the monitor's beeping. I take one last look at Leo and smile, before falling asleep.

Flashback 14 years ago...

I wake up hearing a knock on my door. I sigh and get out of my bed, it's freezing in here, I hate winter, I hate the cold and I hate getting sick. I slightly open the door and my eyes widen surprised. It's Leo... It's shocking to see I'm since we had a big fight earlier.

He's just standing there "H-hey r-raph." What's wrong with him? "You ok?" I ask him, he was shaking and he looked pale. "Can... can I sleep with you, dad went out scavenging" But he went out this morning? "Um, sure" I went back in my bed and it looked like he hesitated cause he didn't move. "You coming?" He shakes his head and walks towards my bed, I scooch towards the wall to give him space. My bed isn't big. Only big enough for one person.

He climbs into my bed his face towards me and places his head on my chest and his arm laying on my stomach. It was weird, Leo isn't usually cuddly like this. Unless he's sick or with Splinter. I feel weird... Why do I feel this way? I feel his warm breath on my plastron and his body against mine. He already fell asleep.

I blush and kiss him on his forehead and he smiles in his sleep.

'Goodnight, Leo.'

Present-day...

Karai's POV

I, Mickey and April got downstairs and sat in the living room. April sat beside Mickey and was trying to comfort him. He was scared, we all were. A few minutes passed by and April looked at me and smiled. "I know what would make you feel better!" She says looking at Michelangelo. She grabs her phone and dials a number, Mickey and I look at each other confused.

"Hi, it's for a delivery... yeah... six extra-large pizzas please..." I look at Mickey and I can see him smile at April's kind gesture. She knows him too well. Well, he's not that hard to satisfy. Just bring him food and he's the happiest turtle ever.

About 45 minutes later the pizza arrives and Donnie finally comes down. "Just in time pizza's here!" Mickey says with a smile. Don smiles back but it disappears right away. We sat down in the living room and started eating.

After a while, I grabbed some of the pizza April ordered for us and put them on a plate. I took three slices not knowing how hungry Raph will be. "Where are you going?" Mickey asks me looking at the plate. "Gonna bring some for Raph before you eat it all!" I tell him with a corner smile.

I walk up the stairs and head for Leo's room. I grabbed the door nob and opened the door slowly. When I opened the door completely I see Raph and Leo laying in bed. I smile. I put the plate of pizza's on the dresser and head to sit beside Leo's bed. I grab his right hand and hold it with mine. It's so cold and pale.

I look at Raph and remember how much he cared for others. Raph and Leo were always close, even if they didn't show it, they still cared for each other. I got up and started walking towards the door when I could hear mumbling. Does Raph talk in his sleep? I turn around to see Leo. He's mumbling, but I can't seem to figure out what he's trying saying, except for one word...

"Splinter..."
