I added a day in between Team 7 meeting and Kakashi's bell test for purposes of this story, It won't effect the story line of Naruto.

She didn't need to take anything with her, nothing that she owned really had sentimental value, or any value at all really. She looked around her room once before opening her window and pulling herself up onto the window ledge silently. She knew she'd hurt her mother and brother by doing this but after living day after day of helping her mother constantly she was sick of it. She wanted a change and when she saw how interesting being a ninja could be, well, her mind was made up.

She closed the window, standing on a thin ledge that dropped straight down into the street. She edged along to the corner and jumped, her hands grabbed the bottom of the balcony next door. She let go and landed softly this time, without falling over in the dirt.

The street was dead, the moon was high and nobody was walking around which was fortunate. Luckily the street that Yurei lived on was a little away from one of the main streets that had shops open all night.

First thing's first, she needed new clothes and a desguise. She headed for the main street, fishing out what money she had in her pocket. She cursed under her breath, she should have at least taken some money from the apartment. She counted about four coins which would get her a bowl of ramen.

Once in the main street she abandoned her usual instinct to hide in the shadows and started walking. Surprisingly there were a lot of people around for this time of night, perfect for Yurei to snatch a couple of purses. She counted the money that she now had and smiled, she'd be able to easily buy a disguise. She went to the first clothing shop she saw and picked out a netted shirt, a black tee, blue trousers some sandles and a cloak. After paying she went to a medical store where she bought some blue dye, bandages and a hair tie.

She changed in an empty allyway and applied the dye the best she could to her hair, trying to follow the lshop keeper's intsructions.

When she was done she even felt like a completely different person, she could tell that she didn't look like Yurei Kame, the brunette with plainly coloured grey or brown clothing.

"Asuka. That shall be my new name, Asuka Kiyomizu. I'm from the Land of water." She smiled to herself. Yurei was no longer her name. So she was now a foreigner, that meant she had to be taken to the Hokage by the gate keepers, right? She made her way to the gates of the village and waited in the dark, watching.

She spotted two gate keapers, both male. Both seemed to be falling asleep, she could probably sneak out of the gate without being seen, and she did just that. She darted into the surrounding trees, her heart beating slightly faster. Now, should she go to wake them up and demand to see the Hokage, or should she wait until morning?

The Hokage would probably be asleep right now... It's decided then, she thought, I'll sleep here and wait till morning!

Sleeping on the ground prooved to be quite comfortable as Yurei, or Asuka fell asleep as soon as her head touched the mossy ground.

The sun's bright morning rays woke Yurei from her dreams. She sat up and stretched, popping her joints. She stood up and brushed the dirt from her clothes, her cloak had kept her warm last night, allowing her to sleep without waking.

She stepped out of the trees and onto the path that lead to the gates of Konoha. At the gate she was stopped by two men, different from last night.

"Who are you?" One asked, he had brown hair and a bandage over his nose.

"Asuka Kiyomizu, I'm from the Land of water and looking for residence here. I wish to become a Leaf ninja." She announced. She'd have to be more comfortable with talking to people normally.

"Land of water? We haven't seen many from there." The other said.

"My mother wouldn't let me be a ninja, so I left. I never really liked it there anyway."

"Right, well I guess you should see the Hokage," The first said.

Asuka nodded and fell into step behind the two as they turned away, walking in the direction of the Hokage's mansion.

"Name?" The grumpy looking old man asked.

"Asuka Kiyomizu."

"Previous residence?"

"Land of water," She answered.

"Kirigakure?" He asked, looking up at her.

She nodded, was that the main city? Well whatever it was, it was now her previous home.

"Rank?"

"Genin in training."

"Hmm, we have no teams that need a genin member at the moment, miss Asuka." The Hokage said, lacing his fingers together and resting his head on them.

She stayed silent, biting the inside of her cheek, she just had to become a ninja. She'd done a lot to at least get the oppertunity.

"I can put you on a team temporarily, but when you become a Chunin you'll have to leave that team. I shall search for a team that needs another member in the mean time, and as soon as I find one, you shall be switched, ok? If we do not find you a team before you or your temporary team become Chunin's you will not be able to participate in missions. Does this sound fair?"

"Yes Hokage-sama."

"You will be assesed by your team leader, and he will keep an eye on you until we are certain that you are trustworthy. Report back here after you have finished with your new team for the day, I'll assign you a place to stay."

Yurei nodded.

"Very well, Kotetsu, please take miss Asuka to the third training ground to meet with team 7 then join Izumo back at your post."

"Yes Hokage." They both replied and opened the door, motioning for Asuka to move through.

She followed Kotetsu through the village to the third training ground that looked the exact same as when she trained there with her brother.

"Good luck with your new team, you'll need it." Kotetsu said.

She nodded and he left. She glanced over to the center of the training field where three figures stood. Well one stood, two were sitting.

She made her way over, all three of them were watching her.

"Hello." She greeted.

"Who are you?" Naruto asked rudely.

"Asuka Kiyomizu." She answered with a smile.

"Why are you here?" The pink haired, who's name I still did not know, asked.

"I'm part of your team, temporarily."

"What?!" The girl and Naruto exclaimed loudly, even Sasuke looked slightly shocked.

"It's a three man team." The girl said in a matter of fact tone.

"It's temporary, I'll be moved as soon as the Hokage finds me a team." Asuka answered.

"Does Kakashi-sensei know about this?" Naruto asked, looking around furiously, "Where is that old man anyway?"

Just then Kakashi appeared, "Morning everyone, ready for your first day?"

"Hey! You're late!" The girl and Naruto snapped.

"Well, a black cat crossed my path, so! I had to take the long way," He pointed to the side. He glanced at Asuka, "And you are?"

"Asuka Kiyomizu, I'm on your team temporarily."

"Ah, yes, the Hokage mentioned you to me earlier. Well," He cleared his throat, "Lets get started."
