Chapter 10 - Yurei's Strange Ability
After finally gettin free from the ropes at the training ground, Yurei and Naruto walked back into the main part of the village.
"Well see ya tomorow, Asuka-chan! Get up early, we have real missions!" Naruto cheered and ran off down a random street.
Yurei started walking to the Hokages mansion, almost skipping as she did. The day had been strange, exciting and different. She hadn't expected ninja to be so... violent, she wasn't sure she liked that part but overall it was pretty fun. Although 'fun' was probably a bad description, she enjoyed the day.
As she got closer to the Hokage's mansion, she walked past a very familiar street. She stopped and glanced down it, a slight feeling of homesickness coiling in her stomach. She hadn't thought about her family once that day, but now that she'd been reminded of their existance, unwanted emotions returned. She was still angry at her mother, and confused as to why she was so angry about Yurei becoming a ninja.
"Asuka?"
She glanced up at her grey haired sensei.
"Are you heading to the Hokage's?" He asked.
She nodded.
"I'm going there too. How did you find today?"
"It was interesting. I've never really done anything like that before." She answered.
"Really? I thought you used to be a nin from the land of water?"
"Kind of. I never got put on a team, and I didn't get a lot of training."
"You must have had some training, you managed to hide successfully." He glanced at her, to see her reaction.
She didn't react though, "I love to hide I guess. I never had training in that," she said thoughtfully.
"Hmm," Kakashi looked at her again, suspiciously. Was she lying? He'd never seen somebody hide so well...
They were welcomed into the Hokage's mansion by Kotetsu who lead them upstairs.
"Kakashi, Asuka, how was your day?" The Hokage asked.
"Team seven passed, Hokage-sama. We'll be starting missions tomorrow morning." Kakashi said.
The Hokage raised an eyebrow, nobody had passed Kakashi's test before, this was unusual, "And Asuka, how did you find your first day?"
"It was very interesting, Hokage-sama. I learnt a lot." She replied politely.
"The reason why you were asked to report back here Asuka, is so we can ask you a few questions about your ninja abilities. Do you possess a Kekkei Genkei?"
"A Kekker Genkei? What's that?"
The Hokage paused, "It's a blood-line technique. Unique to only your clan. Do you have one?"
"Not that I know of, Hokage-sama." She vaguely remembered her brother mentioning that now.
"Are you controlling a Jutsu now?" He seemed a little confused. Kakashi also had a suspicious look in his eye.
"No Hokage-sama."
"Asuka, are you aware that your chakra is completely hidden?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean your chakra which would be visible to sensory ninjas, is, well not there. You can perform Justu, correct?"
"Yes, I can do the bunshin jutsu."
"Show me."
She did the hands signs, "Bunshin no jutsu," a clone of herself appeared as the smoke disappeared. She released the justsu and looked at the Hokage, "What do you mean my chakra is hidden?"
"You are obviously able to use your chakra, it's just invisible. One of my sensory ninja noticed this a while ago. What clan are you from again?"
"K-Kiyomizu."
"Kakashi, please find one of the librarians and ask for information on the Kiyomizu clan. Also please fetch Yamanaka Inoichi," The Hokage said. Kakashi nodded and left the room.
"This is quite curious, don't you agree, Asuka-chan?"
Yurei nodded slowly.
Soon, Kakashi returned with a sheet of paper, "Hokage-sama, Inoichi can't come right now, he has a family problem. He said he'd arrive in a few hours, also there was no clan by the name of Kiyomizu, but the librarian found this," He placed the paper on the desk and turned it around to the Hokage who picked it up and read through it.
"Well, Asuka, this is..." He sighed, "The Himitsu clan has a similar... ability to you. Their Kekkei Genkei is invisible chakra. Unfortunately there isn't a lot on here about that clan, they reside somewhere in the land of darkness, Kurayamikuni and their jutsus are based on escapism and hiding," He looked up, over the paper at Yurei who looked a little shocked, "What do you know about the Himitsu clan, Asuka?"
"I've never heard of it before, Hokage-sama."
"Are you sure? This could be a very big issue."
"I'm certain."
"Is it possible you are related to someone from this clan?" He asked, tilting his head.
Yuei thought, then started to shake her head but stopped herself with a frown on her face, "I never met my father."
The Hokage didn't say anything but chnaged the subject, "Asuka, go home for now, I will have someone come and collect you in a few hours for questioning."
