Chapter 5
She would count as a great friend.
The next few days went by quickly.
.....
Tsuna listened to the explosive study group he was working with. The group consisted of Gokudera, Yamamoto, Takeo, Haru, Reborn, and himself. They were arguing about how to answer the seventh question of the extra worksheet he, Yamamoto, and Takeo had to finish.
Of course, nothing good happened. At first, it was just Tsuna, Gokudera, Yamamoto, and Takeo, but soon Haru showed up.
No one knew how to answer the seventh question, while Haru bragged that she could, because she was from Midori Junior High, a prestigious all-girls school. It didn't go well. As it turned out, she couldn't answer it.
At some point Lambo made his way into the room, while Reborn disappeared.
They briefly considered asking Adult Lambo, but they decided not to because he's 'dumb'.
After that, Haru thought it would be a good idea to ask Bianchi, but when the older woman DID appear, Gokudera slammed the bedroom door in her face, while locking it. She melted the handle with poison cooking, came in, and ripped Takeo's homework to shreds saying something about "Love is what's important!"
Then, Haru's dad showed up, saying that he could solve it, when Reborn reappeared in pajama's. Reborn was recognized as the 'Genius Mathematician Dr. Borin'. Reborn easily solved the problem.
All in all, it was a fairly 'interesting' study night.
.....
A boy named Shouichi Irie was standing in his bedroom, when a smaller boy came crashing through the ceiling. The small boy was clad in a cow-print suit and an afro. The word 'fashion' seemed to avoid this boy in all forms.
Who was this child that just made a hole in poor Irie's ceiling? Well wouldn't he like to know. But wait, this boy looked familiar. How...? Ohhhh...
The day carried on relatively normally afterwards, though Irie made a stop to drop off the cow child, as well as a box. The Sawada residence was much more crazy than he had first thought.
His phone rang. "Where are you?! This is the second time this week! It's not that hard to drop someone off! Get back here this instant!" His mom. Calling. Yelling. Oh, his stomach again.
Stupid overbearing mothers.
.....
The day started with Tsuna going to school earlier than usual to get a head start for the opening ceremonies. He was almost to school when:
"GO TO SCHOOL AS IF I WERE TO DIE!"
"Wait up!"
Grab.
Pull.
Screams.
Why was he not surprised?
"Join our club!" the (unfortunate) white haired boy, who grabbed onto Takeo while he was running, said.
Kyoko ran up a few minutes later. Tsuna snickered silently; it seemed Takeo didn't know Ryohei (the white haired boy) and Kyoko were siblings.
"Oi! Is that your brother?" Ryohei said excitedly to his 'new recruit'. Tsuna had been spotted.
"Yeah, he is. But he's useless, so don't even bother." Takeo said. Kyoko looked concerned and Ryohei looked to be slightly angered that someone would regard their twin as 'useless'. Even so, he still wanted the younger Sawada in his boxing club. Maybe he should invite both Sawada's.
"SAWADA!" he yelled, "YOU SHOULD EXTREMELY JOIN THE CLUB TOO!" It was then that Ryohei thought to introduce himself. "I'M THE CAPTAIN OF THE BOXING CLUB, SASAGAWA RYOHEI! MY MOTTO IS 'EXTREME'! I welcome you both to the club!"
'Note to self: He's yells way too much.' Tsuna thought.
"I don't want to join a stupid boxing club." Takeo said as he walked away. 'Jeez, does he have no respect at all?' Tsuna thought.
Ryohei, half expecting a rude turn-down like from the other twin, turned to Tsuna with a hopeful look. "What about you?" he asked.
In response, Tsuna held up a finger ("One moment") while he got a notepad out.
I could give it a try... I might also be able to convince Takeo to join as well, if you want, He wrote.
Ryohei nodded, but he seemed confused as to why he got a written response instead of verbal.
Classes began.
.....
Takeo walked through the halls of the school. Out of nowhere, Reborn kicked him in the head.
"Bakeo. You're a disgrace to the Vongola." he said.
"Oh, really?" Takeo asked calmly. "How so?"
"You have insulted your potential guardian, not to mention a member of your actual family. A Vongola boss would never do such a thing!"
Takeo shrugged. "So what? It's not like what I said wasn't true."
"Brat, you will go to the boxing club and join, or at the very least, apologize." Reborn commanded, his fedora shadowing his eyes.
Of course, anyone who had a brain (or eyes) would see that glint in the arcobaleno's eyes, and follow his every word. Takeo apparently had neither. It came down to Reborn "convincing" him to go (Ahem... torturing/beating). In the end, he went to apologize.
.....
Takeo walked into the club-room to find his brother, Ryohei, and Reborn (who somehow got the before he did) dressed in a weird elephant-boxer costume.
"Tsuna! Fight!" Gokudera yelled. Yeah, he appeared out of nowhere, along with Kyoko and Yamamoto. The boxers got into position in the ring.
"Don't hold back, Sawada!" Ryohei yelled. Tsuna held back, of course. If he didn't, Ryohei would might die (or at the very least get wounded in some way).
"Join the club!" Ryohei took a swing at Tsuna, but just barely missed due to Tsuna's dodging. The fight went on like that: With Tsuna dodging and Ryohei attacking, but Tsuna made no attempts to counter.
'He isn't countering. Why? Maybe I should shoot him with the dying will bullet...' Reborn thought. He decided to go with his plan of having Tsuna use his dying will, in interest of seeing what type of flames he has. With no warning, he shot Tsuna in the head.
Tsuna's eyes widened as he sensed the bullet coming towards him. Time seemed to freeze as he was being closed into a corner, Ryohei swinging at him from the front and the bullet coming for the back of his head. If he was hit by the bullet, he would just be rejuvenated, and worse, he would voice his regrets (key word being 'voice'). If he dodged it, Ryohei would get hit. Oh well, hopefully he has regrets...
The bullet pierced Ryohei's forehead, and he fell backwards before springing back up. There was no change in attitude whatsoever. Ryohei seemed like the same person. Maybe he's just always in dying will mode.
The fight continued with the same pattern while Reborn loaded his gun with another dying will bullet. This one would surely be on target.
Tsuna narrowed his eyes. Reborn just wouldn't stop, would he? Tsuna ducked under another punch just in time, when...
Reborn must've known what would happen. When Tsuna ducked, the bullet hit it's target, making Tsuna fall over. His eyes closed.
He got back up, however, the bullet didn't take the normal effect. Instead of saying that he would do something with his dying will, he simply opened his eyes, revealing a deep sunset orange. Needless to say, Reborn was surprised, although he din't show it. This was the Hyper Dying Will Mode (HDWM). An orange flame burst on Tsuna's forehead, thoroughly confusing the people who didn't know of dying will (ie: everyone except Reborn and Gokudera).
Tsuna visibly let out a sigh. He hoped it wouldn't come to this. He hadn't actually been expecting this particular result either, but he would take it over being found out. The question now was: How exactly will Tsuna fight him without overpowering him too much?
The answer: Don't. Tsuna made eye contact with Reborn, and they had a silent conversation.
In their minds:
Tsuna asked, "Shouldn't I stop fighting him? I don't want to hurt him."
Reborn answered, "Yes. Stop. No one needs to get injured."
Tsuna said, "You don't get it either, do you? Why I went into Hyper Dying Will Mode?"
Reborn said, "No. We can talk, or, write in your case, later."
"Hai."
Wait, how did Tsuna know what was going on with the HDWM? Or, how was that conversation even possible?
.....
The day ended with Takeo quite rudely refusing Ryohei's offer to join, while Tsuna politely declined. They went home with Reborn suspiciously looking in Tsuna's direction every once in a while. Being aware of this, Tsuna made a mental note to lock his door tonight. He didn't need any unwanted company, but he would have to talk to Reborn first.
They got home, and Takeo entered his room, leaving Tsuna and Reborn alone in the hallway. "How did you know about dying will?" Reborn asked.
Getting out his notepad, he wrote, I've seen Takeo go into that state many times.
"That can't be an answer. I have never explained the dying will bullet to you." Reborn stated matter-of-factly.
I learn by observing.
"Then shouldn't you have better grades?" Reborn inquired. Tsuna cringed. Of course he SHOULD have better grades; he never even tried in school!
Tsuna is trapped. Trapped in a cage of questions with no way out.
"I'll be watching you, Tsuna." Reborn said.
'Great. Just great.'
.....
Somehow, the day after, Takeo contracted some deadly disease. Tsuna wasn't too worried about it. The arcobaleno would most likely call in a great doctor from Italy. That would mean the pervy Dr. Shamal would be in town.
Tsuna knew all about Dr. Shamal (or Trident Shamal), as he also knew about many other things that are not important as of right now. Dr. Shamal was obviously a doctor that carried around mosquitoes with deadly diseases. He uses these mosquitoes to take out any enemies he might be facing, or simply just to cure and/or kill people. The disease ridden mosquitoes gave him all the diseases, but one cancels out another, for instance: Takeo has the Skull Disease, to cancel it out he needs the Angel Disease.
This information was pretty much all Tsuna could find. Apparently Shamal was a big pervert, though, and would only treat women. That could be a problem, seeing as Takeo only had an hour to live.
Tsuna walked downstairs to find none other than the doctor himself lying on the steps with poison cooking in his face. Holding in laughter, he stepped to the side as Takeo practically fell down the stairs.
A few minutes later, all hell broke loose. Dr. Shamal ran after Bianchi, with Takeo running after him. Finally, Takeo tackled the doctor, who decided to cure him.
.....
The Disciplinary Committee Head, Hibari Kyoya, stood in a room full of people; this is something he does not enjoy. The heads of all the clubs were deciding who got what room, so of course Hibari had to be there.
"Uwah, someone got the Reception Room already!" One girl exclaimed.
"Really? That's sly!" Another replied.
"It's for the Disciplinary Committee!" yet another yelled.
"Do you have any objection?" Hibari asked.
All three bowed. "Absolutely not!" they chorused.
"Then please continue." he commanded.
"I sense a conspiracy." One of the tree-planting committee's member's said.
Moments later, the tree-planting committee was sprawled outside, having been knocked out. "It wasn't because you defied him; you were crowding." a disciplinary committee member said.
.....
Tsuna was eating lunch on the roof with Gokudera and Yamamoto when the door to the stairwell opened. Reborn came out with a spiky outfit on, and Takeo followed. They were alone.
"Tsuna. Follow us." Reborn demanded. Tsuna, not wanting Reborn to become any more suspicious of him, stood up and walked after them. Gokudera and Yamamoto followed suit. Reborn continued talking, "We'll make a hideout for the family. "
THIS will DEFINITELY go well.
They arrived outside the Reception Room. Reborn had disappeared, leaving just the future Decimo, Gokudera, Yamamoto, and Tsuna. Takeo opened the door to be faced by Namimori Middle School's very own skylark. He simply turned back around and pushed someone else forward; this someone else happened to be Tsuna.
"Who are you?" The skylark asked.
Tsuna's eyes widen. Hibari was someone he did NOT want to fight. Hibari attacked for no real reason. It was most likely because a 'crowd' was forming. He rushed at Tsuna, but Tsuna's 'guardians' got in the way. Both were knocked unconscious.
Reborn appeared at the window. He had Leon ready to shoot Takeo. Soon the sound of gunfire came, and Takeo had the dying will. But even with this power up, Hibari was much too strong. Takeo was knocked down, and the dying will dissipated.
"Who are you?" Hibari repeated.
"I'm Takeo Sawada, and that's my no-good brother. You don't need to worry yourself with anyone but me. The others are just weaklings." Takeo answered.
For some reason, this pissed Hibari off. Who was this weak herbivore to tell him that those others were weaklings? Sure, they were still herbivores, but they at least tried to save their friend, while this herbivore just hid. Hibari really wanted to kill this guy.
"I'll bite you to death." And there was his famous catchphrase! Everyone knows if you hear that, then you're probably going to die in the next few minutes.
Tsuna watched as Hibari knocked out his brother. It wasn't enough to actually kill him, but he was still going to be out of it for a long time.
Hibari made eye contact with Tsuna. He stopped himself before he attacked. This one here...
Hibari was violent, but he was also smart. If he knew anything, he knew that those were not the eyes of a herbivore. They were that of a carnivore.
