The words I discounted
Each one a stab to the heart
The wound they left so mangled it was numb
The girl he found
A girl with the same interests and hobbies
Rubbing salt in the wound

I remember the second slipping away
The nights I dreamed about having him
Dreaming my fears came true
Before worse ones finally did
A life so different from my own
Unsure I could bridge that gap
Not sure I wanted to

I can't wait for the day I find someone
Someone I won't have to remember this way
