2 hours have passed by and I'm laying on my bedrooms floor. That's my thinking spot, I don't stand and walk around corner to corner like a cartoon, I lay on the floor like a starfish.

I focus on the ceiling, wondering what happened. My head hurts from the the possibility that could explain this horrid/ confusing day.

The water was floating, it was FLOATING!

I took a sharp breath, my brain spinning in circles inside my skull. What happened, my Brain asked, pounding my head for answers.

I slowly stood up and looked around my mint green and white room. Making sure I wasn't going crazy, Maybe I'm not in my room but I actually in a mental institution.

I calmly sat on my bed, creaking under my weight. That's a good sign. I'm in my room. I breath out a sign of relief.

My mind suddenly went back to Officer Kurt  and his talk about "mutant", what did he mean my grandfather is a mutant?

I grabbed my phone and quickly texted the unknown number. They have to know whats happening right? They know something I don't know!

My fingers begin to dial a number, but not the number I wanted my fingers to dial.

I hear my phone silently ringing. Every painful ring sending me into fear of what I just did.

"Hello?"

"Please come over, I'm scared and confused" I speak into my phone

"On my way, I'll be there in 5" Tayler whispers as she hangs up the phone. Her voice sounded worried and rushed.

I sit back on my desk chair, and all I can do is stare at my hands. If I wasn't so scared I would probably have googled this. I would figured out a reasonable explanation for this. WebMD would help, maybe tell me Im going to die or something.

Breath Carter, you probably imagined this, it's all in your head. All this paladins stuff is finally getting to you.

I stare at my hands, examining the lines that run around it, checking between my fingers. Nothing out of the ordinary sticks out

A knock on the door shakes me back into reality, I shake  myself out of it as I go down the stairs.

I see Tayler's dark hair through the glass window, thank god it's her and not a random person wanting to kidnap me. Or worse! A scientist to take me away because of what Officer Kurt said!

I open the glass door and Tayler rushes in, quickly looking at me up and down.

"No blood! That's good" Tayler breathes out in relief,"What happened? I was so scared!"

"I can't tell you here, let's go into my room." I lock the door behind Tayler and run into my room. We turn into the the hallway and go into my room. I slam the door shut, and lock it just in case.

"Sooo? This better be important, I was in the middle of painting my toe nails and I had to put a sock on!" She complains as she takes a seat on my bed that is neatly made. I cringe at the crinkles that she has made with her fat butt.

"Something weird is happening!" I yell interrupting her toe nail story. She pauses and stares at me her hand under her chin.

"Spill?" She gives me the side eye and crosses her arms over her chest.

"I got a random text message about Kent high school and I research-"

"THE Kent high school? The myth? The high school for paladins?" Tayler yells, throwing her hands out in front of her as if that will help her prove her point.

I look at the ground and back to her eyes. Slowly bob my head up and down.

"When? How? Why?" She yells while standing up getting closer to me looking like a scared duck. I back away, her crazy eyes look better from a distance.

"When... yesterday. How.... through text message telling me to go to the office. And why.... I kinda still don't know." I bite my lip as I say the last part.

"So I put on a sock over my freshly painted nails for a text message that might be fake?" She smiles sarcastically, "great. Ahhh, can't wait to REPAINTED MY NAILS!"

"I mean I don't know. But I went to he office this morning and followed there instruction and this old guy told me that I'm i have a mutant in the family." I took a breath and kept ranting, " then I texted the number again and they said that I know what's happening and i really don't know what there talking about so I went to the bathroom"

Tayler nods along with my story, her poker face not telling me if she believes me or not.

"So your telling me, you called me over because your great aunt might be a paladin?" Tayler concludes as she starts thinking.

"Not the point But I called you because something happened in the bathroom." I look back down at my hands, not trying to offend them, I'm not sure what they can do to me now. I wave them around Tayler's face

"My hands" I whispered, slowly looking at Tayler. I stood up from my chair and walked to the spot she was sitting on the ground.

"Your hands?" Tayler points at my hands with a confused face, "I have some too" she giggles at her own joke.

"I splashed water by accident and my hands stopped the water mid splash." I shove my hands in her face, as if that's going to make her believe me.

I kneel on the soft brown carpet next to her and out stretch my arms one more time towards her.

"Something's happening" I mumble, "and no one will tell me what."

"Wait, so your telling me that your crusty hands stopped the water before it splashed you?" Tayler sasses "cause that sounds like Bs to me"

I laugh, wishing it was all a big joke. Tayler finally gets serious and puts her hand on my knee.

"Show me" she whispers.

"Okay, this just got weirdly romantic, tay" I laugh as I stood up from the uncomfortable kneeling position, "but okay, let me try"

Tayler stands up and follows me to the restroom sink. We both stare at the white sink before turning on the water. I hold in my breath as I lean against the counter, I have to concentrate.

"I know this is supposed to be like a dramatic reveal for your future book about your superhero life, but can you speed it up a little?"tayler signs as she turns the knob for the water, "my mom kinda don't know I came here so..."

I giver her a scared smile. Like that smile the joker does. Wait no that's too creepy. More like a smile a nurse does when she tells you your overdue for a flu shot.

"Okay hold on, I don't even know what I did" I laugh senselessly.  I put my hand under the water, letting the coldness call me down a little.

The water rushes through and I love the world so I can't just waste water for no reason. Eco friendly guys, I ain't no monster.

I put my hand in front of the sink, close my eyes tightly and concentrate as hard as I can.

"Omg that's amazing-" tayler gushes

I open my eyes excited to see that I wasn't going crazy. I'm not imagining thi-

"Ly dumb. The water is running down the sink!" Tayler laughs as I  turn and slap her shoulder.

"What the hell tay! I got excited for nothing!" I grunt as I look back at the sink.

I actually thought I did something, maybe I am crazy. Maybe all this super talk got me thinking and imagining things that will never become true. Im just like a crazy fan girl, wishing i could be a super.

"Cheer up, lollipop"

"You just called me dumb and you want me to be happy? I mean I guess" I turn off the water and turn around to face Tayler.

"Issa joke, don't take it up the butt" tayler laughs, "and you should also... think fast"

I blink and all of a sudden I see Tayler with a water bottle pointed directly at me, without a second thought she squashed the bottle as hard as she can. Water coming at me, straight to my eyes.

As an instinct, I cover my face with my hands and close my eyes as tight as I can.

"Holy shit Carter! HOLY SHIT" Tayler screams in panic.

I open my eyes and leave my hands in front of my face, blocking my view. But what I do see is a big squirt of water directly coming to my nose.

"You control water....my best friend controls water." Tayler whispers, dropping the water bottle to the ground.

"Carter, you might be a paladin"
