Class ended with a boring test. It honesty had nothing to do with powers. The main questions were about math and some medical stuff which I just guessed on instead of wasting my time. I walk out of the class completely forgetting Tayler and head to my locker in the other hallway.

"Carter!" Tayler yells behind me as she tries to catch up. Seems like everyone is trying to catch up to me these days.

"Yes" I turn,  walking backwards.

"When do you think we'll get the results! I can't wait! " she finally catches up to me and keeps up with my pace

"I dunno, why didn't you ask Dunn?" I reach my locker and start stacking my books inside of it.

Tayler pulls out her own text books and shives them in my locker. "I did, he said later. Oh yea Grayson left early." She informs me as I slam my locker shut.

"Why?" I question, I stack my last book and pull out my phone.

Nope no text from Grayson.

She slams my locker shut and locks it, we make a great team as you can see. "I don't know, he sounded nervous and left." Tayler and I start heading out the door

I push the door open to reveal the never stopping rain. Puddles covered the cement, while mud covered the grass. To my luck, I decided to wear my white converse.

"And he left us with no ride?"I grunt as I begin walking in the rain careful to avoid anything that will destroy my shoes.

I hear Tayler pulling her hood on, splashing her feet into puddles. She is wearing combat boots, so she's good for now.

"A little exercise won't kill you" She smiles, jumping into puddles. Not realizing that we took a physical test that made us run and do 20 sit-ups. That's to much for me, the only sit-ups I do is when I wake up in the morning.

"Ugh, why can't it stop raining?" I mutter as I step into a deep puddle that drenches my used to be white, now brown converse. "Great!"

Tayler laughs as she avoids the same puddle, then proceeds to splash into the one right next to it.

"You know, you've been grumpy ever since this morning." Tayler points out, "what even happened this morning?"

"I don't even know myself, something about...a check up" I contemplate telling her more, but decided once again against it.

"Oh noice, well how was the test then?"

"Which one" suddenly remembering how west smiled at me during the physical test. He smiles at me, so that means we're practically dating right? Isn't that how it works?

"All of them" Tayler jumps into a puddle, the same one I avoided 2 seconds ago.

"Nothing really, West just talked to me while we were running. He was so easy to talk too!" I smile at the memory. If only he could talk to me on a regular basis.

"Wow, all I have to do to make you happy is bring up west huh" Tayler giggles.

"Have I really been down? I feel fine"

"Yep, you look like a zombie. A very pretty zombie tho. Not the flesh eating ones that are all nast-" Tayler describes

"I get it!" I laugh

We reach the corner that separates my best friend and me...wow that sounds so dramatic.

"Well bye Carter! I hope you feel better mañana" Tayler waves as she turns the corner towards her neighborhood.

"Bye tay tay" I smile up at her "I swear I'm okay!"

I wave a finally goodbye, and I walk the lonely path, also known as my street, and look at all the beautiful trees around me.

I start thinking about the whole Officer Kurt thing. What did he mean by Mutation ? Does he mean like growing boobs?

I look down at me chest and pat my size B cup.
Nope can't be that? All my changes happens 9th grade when I had a bloody accident...

Should I text the number for more information? Hmm maybe. I'll do it at home since the stupid rain is probably going to make it impossible to type.

I walk to my front door and unlock it.

My clock stares at me, with its bright red eyes.

How I hate time, and why is it I always end up taking a nap. It must not be normal for a 16 year old to be taking so many naps.

I stare at my phone a remember my plans to text the number Officer Kurt gave me. I pull out the card from my back jeans and examine it. Nothing has changed like I expected. A simple white piece of paper with a number printed on it.

I lay up from my bed and grab my phone.

"YOLO" I scream to no one in particular as I open the message app.

Too dramatic. Why do I have to be a hormonal teenager!

I throw my phone to the other side of my bed,  contemplating what he meant with all the big scientists words he was throwing at me when I see a blur in my peripheral vision.

I turn toward my window, expecting to see nothing, but instead see a person? Just floating.

I carefully stand up and go to the window because I'm a very smart person that likes to get killed like those horror movies, if I know something's there, why should I get closer? But I do anyways because my brain shuts off when school ends.

"Hello" I whisper at the closed window with the person a few miles in the sky? Why are they just floating there? I squint my eyes, focusing on the person.

I start analyzing there clothes, I see gray and yellow... which could only mean one person if Tayler's paladins book is correct.

My eyes go wide, a paladin is so close to me yet so far.

Why is he just floating? Of all paladins, I see him! What do I do? Take a picture!?

I start thinking about paladins  studies, the day where the board read " Static"

That's who he is. I carefully open my window and watch him slowly float towards my window.

His figure gets closer, but as soon as he's face is visible, disappears into the sky. I realized that I have been holding my breath, and breath in some fresh air.

"Weird" I mumble as I close my window and head to my computer still turning towards the window to see if he's going to appear again.

I open my laptop and click the google browser.

I type quickly and turn around toward my window for the tenth time expecting to see something.

I turn around in awe, I've seen supers on the news and sometimes on social media, but never a mile or so away from me. Paladins might annoy me, but I still love seeing them in real life.

Tayler on the other hand, always seems to be stumbling upon them at stores. Me? Yea no.

I grab my phone and dial Tayler because me being a really tumblr child prefers the 90's where texting was nonexistent.

"Whattt!" Tayler mumbles

"I just saw static! He was 3 inches  from my window."

"Liar!! Don't shit around with me" Tayler yells

We both laugh, drake and josh are the death of me.

Yup, I'm gonna die, haven't I learned from all those movies where the stupid teenage goes towards the noise and then gets murdered? Cause I just did that! I just texted the random number a crazy old man have to me because I had a blood test 4 years ago! Not cray at all!

I stand up and contemplate replying. What use would it do?

I sit on my chair and spin around until I actually feel something...

I need to throw up!

I run to the bathroom, crouching towards the toilet and gag. Nothing comes out but spit.

Why did I really have to spin on the chair for so long? I clean myself up and go towards the sink to wash my hands. As I start washing my hands, stupid me drops the soap ;)  into the sink making a bigger splash then expected.

I cover myself with my hands preparing for the small impact of water I created to splash back at me.

The rooms stays quiet as I realized there was no splash of the water coming back down.

I slowly open my eyes to see the scariest shit ever.
